POLLY LAUTERBACH KEYWORTH, 63, of Santa Fe died Monday after a two-year struggle with cancer.
She grew up in Rochester, N.Y., and studied at Bennington College and the Boston Museum School. She first moved to New Mexico in 1968. She was an accomplished artist, an avid tennis player and a member of the Sangre de Cristo Racquet Club. She considered Tuscany, Italy, as a second home. She is survived by her husband, George (Jay) Keyworth II; daughter, Deirdre Hernandez of Rockville, Md.; son, George and wife Tiffany of Boulder, Colo.; brother, Peter Lauterbach of Bedford, N.H.; and three grandchildren. MILDRED JOHNSON, 91, of Los Alamos died Monday. She was born in Mankita, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband Ellwood Johnson; and parents, Strean and Louis Koenig. THERESA CHAVEZ, 93, of Wagon Mound died Tuesday.
She was a lifelong member of the Santa Clara Parish in Wagon Mound. She was the judge for the village of Wagon Mound and belonged to Las Carmelitas, Legion of Mary, the Wagon Mound Extension Club, East Mora County Health Center Association and Wagon Mound Senior Center. MANUELITA M. CORDOVA, 71, of Gallina died Wednesday after a long illness. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to do ceramics and different crafts. She was an active senior citizen in Gallina. She loved the mountains and the outdoors, and to care for and grow plants. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Cordova; sons, Mardo F. JOYCE DIX REMKE of Santa Fe died Tuesday after a battle with cancer. She was born in Milwaukee and raised in Port Washington, Wis., where she graduated as valedictorian of her class and captain of the state champion debate team. She earned a scholarship to Northwestern University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She moved to Santa Fe in 1988 to be near her grandchildren. She was past president of the Santa Fe Opera Guild Inc., past president and recording secretary of the Santa Fe Garden Club, past secretary of the Republican Women's Club, past board member of the Santa Fe Desert Chorale and member of the First Presbyterian Church, Council on International Relations, Newcomers Club, and New Mexico Museum Foundation. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maude and Arno Dix; daughter, Elizabeth Remke; husband, Robert Long Remke; and sister, Peggy Dix McHaney. SIXTO SALAZAR, 84, of Santa Cruz died Saturday in Albuquerque. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed at Shepherd Field in Wichita Falls, Texas. He later saw action in Europe. He sold cars for many years and once owned Sixto's Restaurant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandrino and Rosita Salazar. She was born in Taos. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of Santa Maria de La Paz Catholic Community.

ALFONSO A. 'RONCHA' GARCIA, 82, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Sunday after a long illness.
He worked at the CCC Shipyards in California during World War II. He then moved back to Las Vegas, N.M. He was a carpenter by trade and a part-time musician for most of his life. He enjoyed playing the trumpet and guitar. He played for "Los Muchachos Allegre," "Nube," "Blue Mist" and Bobby Garcia and the "Saints". He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Alice Garcia of Las Vegas, N.M.; sons and daughters, Leroy Garcia and fiancée Pauline Garduno and Alfonso Garcia Jr., all of Las Vegas, N.M., Roxanne Correa and husband Hector, David Garcia and wife Barbara, and Joe B.
