Adelina Medina, 92, of Ranchos de Taos passed away on April 20, 2006. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Manuel Medina, son, Dionicio Gallegos, daughters, Elsie Shields, Mercy and Orlinda Medina and grandson, Miguel Lopez. She is survived by her children, Jose A. Gallegos (Loyola) of Penasco, Helen Medina (Cornelio) of Leadville, CO, Zenovio Medina (Maria) of Ranchos de Taos, Joe C. "Jackie" Medina (Helen) of Roswell, Maria Lopez of Taos, Howard Medina of Ranchos de Taos, Juan Manuel Medina Jr. (Darlene) of Gypsum, CO. and Abraham Medina (Nancy) of Dixon. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many other relatives.
Rosary was recited April 20, 2006 at San Francisco de Asis in Ranchos de Taos. Mass was held on April 22, 2006 at San Francisco de Asis. Interment to followed at Santa Barbara cemetery in Penasco. Arrangements by Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home.
George Lucero

George Lucero, 78, of Chamisal passed away on April 20, 2006. He retired from Hawthorne Naval Ammunitions Depot and came to Chamisal and eventually opened Lucero's Grocery Store. He is preceded in death by his sister, Isabel Lucero and brother, Oramito Lucero. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Lucero, children, Georgia Chavez of Chamisal, Marie Tyler of Chamisal, George Lucero Jr. (Agnes) of Chamisal, David Lucero (Anita) of Chamisal, Frank Lucero of Chamisal, Linda Montoya (Raymond) of El Prado, Norma Fernandez (Leo) of Rio Lucio, Tammy Lucero of Chamisal, Libby Gallegos (Samuel) of Chamisal, brother and sisters, Lillian Pacheco (Adonio, Manuel Lucero (Helen), Elvia Valdez (Octaviano) and Irene Martinez (Albert) 24 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many other relatives.
Rosary was recited on Sunday, April 23, 2006. Funeral mass was held on Monday, April 24, 2006. Both services were held at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Penasco. Interment was held at Lower Chamisal cemetery.

Elfido Vigil of Questa passed away on April 26, 2006. He was a lifetime rancher and farmer. He was an Army veteran of WWII in the European Theater. He is preceded in death by his wife, Delia Vigil, daughter, Rosemarie Vigil, parents, Placido & Aurelia Vigil, brothers and sister, Placido Vigil Jr., Maximiana Garcia, Eloy Vigil and Jose Inez Vigil. He is survived by his son, Adelmo Vigil (Soledad) of Alamogordo, grandsons, Adrian Vigil (Hidi) and Gabriel Vigil. He is also survived by great grandchildren, Marcos A., Domnik A. and Monique D. Vigil, sister, Elva Sanchez, brother, Arsenio Vigil and many other relatives.
Evening service was held on April 28, 2006 at Rivera Chapel. Funeral service were held on April 29, 2006 at Rivera Chapel. Interment followed at El Pueblito cemetery in Questa.

Matthew John Santistevan, 46, of Woodland, California and formerly of Taos passed away on April 29, 2006. He is preceded in death by his parents, Susan and David E. Santistevan and father in law, Jay Chapyak. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Santistevan, children, Samuel and Caitlyn Santistevan. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Mark David Santistevan (Margarita) of La Mirada, CA, Martin Santistevan (Joelyn) of Ranchos de Taos, Marietta Fambro (Jim) of Taos, Joseph Santistevan of Taos, David A. Santistevan of Albuquerque, Marisol Maestas of Taos, mother in law, Katie Chapyak of Los Alamos, sister in law, Debbie Chapyak of Woodland, CA, grandmother, Eva M. Perfecta M. Chiotis, 82, of Ranchos de Taos passed away on April 30, 2006. She is preceded in death by her sister, Carmen Romero, brother, Raymond Gallegos and brother in law, Arcenio Romo. She is survived by her husband, Chris Chiotis, daughter, Angela Sellers (Leonard), grandsons, Jeremy and Joshua Sellers. She is also survived by sisters and brother, Bennie and Vangie Gallegos both of Colorado, Casimiro Gallegos (Ruth) of Ranchos de Taos, many nephews, nieces and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Ricarda Sena, grandparents, Abelino and Rita Sena, grandfather, Melquiades Sena. He is survived by his wife, Flora Sena, daughters, Louisa and Monique Sena, stepdaughter, Trish Hurst, four grandchildren, sisters, Lorraine Garcia (Gilbert), Virginia Rael (Cleve), Marie Cisneros (John), Janet Garcia (Lloyd) all of Questa, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Tom Martinez, 75, of Taos passed away on May 07, 2006. He was a longtime Taos Educator and coach at Taos Municipal Schools. He is preceded in death by his parents, Zacarias & Beatrice Martinez, brothers, Vidal & Gilbert Martinez and granddaughter, Angelica Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eva Martinez, children, Yolanda "Yogi" Romero (Richard), Liz Martinez, David Martinez (Deborah), Tomas Martinez and Yvette Ruiz (Federico). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Juan Martinez (Mary), Flora Gonzales (Frank), Martha Martinez, Bernice Hayes and Marcella Rivera.
Funeral mass was held on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Candido Valerio, daughter, Louisa Mylet (Tim) of Pot Creek, son, Armando Valerio (Bernice) of Ranchos de Taos. She is also survived by granddaughters, Micaela Medina Ortiz (Tony), Mary Margaret Mylet, Amanda Valerio, Sarah Anita Valerio, great grandchildren, Nathanial, Daniel and Mia Isabella Ortiz, numerous nephews and nieces, many other relatives and friends.

He is survived by sisters, Tommie Hanson (Eddie) of San Ramon, CA, Lillie Jaramillo (Lee), Doloris Lopez (Robert), Paz Anaya and Navi Baca (Victor) of Santa Fe, brothers, Arturo Romero (Lupe), Leonardo Romero (Bertha) of Ranchos de Taos and Wilfred Romero (Brenda) of Chimayo, niece Nadine Gonzales (Johnny) of Ranchos de Taos, who was like a daughter to him and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Monique Martinez and her mother, Jeanette Barber, Amber Martinez and her mother, Tracy Hightower, whom he shared 17 years with, parents, Alferino and Mabel Martinez, brother, Dennis Martinez (Pamela), sisters, Christine Martinez, Anna Martinez (David), Priscilla Aaron (James), and Josephine Martinez. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Theodore "Ted" Gonzales, Ret. Sgt. 1st Class, 72, of Ranchos de Taos passed away on May 21, 2006. He retired from the US Military and served in the Korean Conflict. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Lorenzo Maestas Jr., brothers, Pat Gonzales and George Chavez. He is survived by the mother of his children, Adelina "Addie" Gonzales, children, Jean Gonzales, Earl Gonzales, Deborah Anglada (Thomas) and Joanne Gonzales. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brothers, Frank Gonzales (Margaret) and Manuel Gonzales (Teresa), sister in law, Manuelita Chavez and many other relatives.
