Vallie Sears
Services: Have been held.
Ms. Vallie Eulala Sears, 104, of Clovis, a retired cashier, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on June 7, 1898, in Waco, Texas, to Benjamin and Ella Reynolds Hudgins.
She moved to Clovis from Dallas, in 1923. She worked as a cashier at the newsstand of the Santa Fe Railroad for 25 years. She was a Jehovah’s Witness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ivan L. Sears; and a granddaughter, Beverly Gail Nance.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Lee of Clovis; a grandson, Bob Lee (and wife, Janie) of Galveston, Texas; two great-grandsons, Robert Lee IV and William Lee; and three great-great-grandchildren, Allison, Brittney and Trent.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
Chester Beavers officiated the services.
Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home of Amarillo.

Oleta Self
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Oleta Self, 91, of Clovis, a housewife, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1912, in Spur, Texas.
She married A.R. “Reg” Self on Feb. 1, 1930, in Spur, Texas. They moved to Post, Texas, then to Lubbock for several years and then to Clovis in 1943. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the Altrusa Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers; and sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Doug Self (and wife, Rebecca) of Carbondale, Colo., and Dudley Self (Jody) of Clovis; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Bethany, David, Stuart, MaDawn, Jonathan and Jennifer; and two great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Joel Horne will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church at Carbondale Building Fund, 110 Snowmass Drive, Carbondale, CO 81623.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Marie Selgado-Mendez
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Marie B. Selgado-Mendez, 60, of Clovis, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque.
She was born on March 12, 1944, in Vaughn, to Candido and Domitilia Garcia Selgado.
She graduated from Clovis High School in 1964. She married Richard T. Mendez Dec. 24, 1965 in Clovis. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She retired after 25 years of service with the State of New Mexico Human Services Department.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, including Joe Emilio Selgado; two aunts, Isadora Selgado and Zenaida Szymulewski; and an uncle, Juan Selgado.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Mendez of the home in Clovis; two sons, Richard Mendez of Clovis and Nathan Mendez of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Mary Ann Maes of Clovis and Antonia Carmente of Seattle.
A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.

Marie Selgado-Mendez
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Marie B. Selgado-Mendez, 60, of Clovis, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque.

EDWARD SENA
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Edward David Sena, 53, of Santa Rosa, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1950, in Fort Sumner, to the home of Roman T. and Faviola Gauna Sena.
He attended school in Fort Sumner. He worked in auto-body repair for several years. He was a jeweler, an artist, and a musician who played lead guitar and the harmonica. He suffered from polio from age 3. He attended the Assembly of God Church and the Church on the Hill.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Gwen Sena; his paternal grandparents, Jose and Estefanita Sena; his maternal grandparents, Emiliano and Claudita Gauna; and two brothers-in-law, George Ortega and Larry Roybal Sr.
Survivors include two sons, Gino Sena of Lubbock and Christian Sena of Midland, Texas; his parents; two brothers, James Dunn (and wife, Esther) of Fort Sumner and Jesse Sena (Vivian) of Clovis; six sisters, Dolores Ortega and Reba Casaus (Rudy), all of Santa Rosa, Ruby Gonzales (George) of Fort Sumner, Angie Mares (Mariano) and Lucy Roybal (Rafael), all of Roswell and Jean Chavez (Paul) of Albuquerque; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Anna Teeter will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Fort Sumner Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Chavez, Larry Roybal, James Dunn, Gino, Christian and Jesse Sena.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. today at Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church on the Hill Youth Fund, P.O. Box 467, Fort Sumner 88119-0467.

Emijedio Sena
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Emijedio L. “Carroll” Sena, 76, of Clovis, a candy maker, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at his home.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1927, in Clovis.
He was a lifetime resident of Clovis and a World War II veteran. He married Dolores Chavez on March 10, 1951, in Clovis. They renewed their vows on Feb. 14, 1999. He was a candy maker for Leslie Candy Co., retiring in 1982. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a charter member of the D.A.V. Family members said he enjoyed cooking, building things for anyone in need and riding his scooter.
The family will be at 1600 E. Brady Ave.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, J.G. and Rita Sena; and his wife.
He is survived by two sons, Michael and Valentine Sena, both of Clovis; two daughters, Dolores Hardy (and husband, Quinton) of Clovis and Carol Lopez (and husband, Wilson) of Rio Rancho; a sister, Frances Cochran of Clovis; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Father Carlos Chavez will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Eric and Tyson Hardy, Solomon and Emijedio Sena and Crystal Mendoza.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rosie Avila, Lee Smith and Socorro Chavez.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Ernest Sena
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Ernest G. Sena, 81, of Clovis, a retired railroad worker, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at his home in Clovis.
He was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Clovis to Ignacio and Hilarita Gallegos Sena.
A lifetime resident of Clovis, he married Sally Pacheco on Jan. 14, 1939, in Clovis, where he worked for the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Survivors include seven sons, Alex Sena of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jerry Sena of Midland, Texas, Kurt Sena, Sam Sena, Joe Sena and Ernest Sena Jr., all of Clovis, and Ron Sena of Charleston, S.C.; one daughter, Gloria Hickman of Orange Grove, Calif.; one sister, Nora Pacheco of Clovis; and 18 grandchildren.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Deacon Daniel Chavez will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers will be Kurt, Joe, Jerry, Ernie, Sam, Alex and Ron Sena.
The family will be at 3120 Mandell Circle.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Gwen Sena
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Mary Gwendolyn Sena, 45, of Amherst, Texas, died Saturday, April 27, 2003, at her home.
She was born on July 23, 1957, in Roswell, to Myron Eugene and Melbalene Ruth Benton Morris.
She graduated from Fort Sumner High School. She worked as a medical records clerk in a physician’s office before joining the Teeter Insurance Agency in Fort Sumner. Family members said she enjoyed reading the Bible, cooking, gardening, caring for her miniature donkeys and her cat.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by two sons, Eugenio Sena of Lubbock and Christian Sena of Amherst; the children’s father, Edward D. Sena of Santa Rosa; three sisters, Myra Gail Morris of Lubbock, Margo Evrinidis of Apex, N.C.; Libbye Belgrade of Sterling, Va.; and one brother, Myron Lee Morris of Bullhead City, Ariz.
The Rev. Anna Teeter will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Fort Sumner Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Roybal, Mariano Mares, Richard Gonzales, Simon Lucero, Lee Koll and Eleazar Lara.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church On The Hill Memorial Fund.
Arrangements are by Chavez Funeral Home of Fort Sumner.

Ted Sena
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Ted Sena, 39, of Roswell, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1963, in Roswell, to Theodore C. and Rosa Aragon Sena.
He was raised and attended school in Roswell. He worked as a building carpenter for several years with Paul Teel Construction in Clovis; he also worked as a meat cutter for Swift Packing in Dumas, Texas, and in the oil fields in Pampa, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mike and Cleofas Aragon; and his paternal grandparents, Theodore and Gertrude Sena.
Survivors include his companion, Della Gonzales of Roswell; his parents; four step-children, Destinie, Desiree, Phillip, and Cassandra of Roswell; three daughters, Yvette Garcia (and husband, Miguel), Delilah Huerta (Antonio), all of Newton, Kan. and Monique Woods of Phoenix; two grandchildren, Aliyah Garcia and Taliah Huerta; three sisters, Lucille Page (Curtis), Patty Trujillo (Mike) of Clovis and Stephanie Estrada (Joe) of Roswell; two brothers, David Sena and Michael P. Sena (Tina), all of Clovis; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner.
Father Sotero A. Sena will officiate the services.
Burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery in Fort Sumner.
Pallbearers will be Andy Sena, Mark Aragon, Mark Armijo, Eric Armendarez, Phillip Jaramillo, James and Tony Gonzales and Victor Baca.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. today at Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner.
Arrangements are by Chavez Funeral Home of Fort Sumner.

Karen Shayotovich
Services: Hav been held.
Mrs. Karen Sue Shayotovich, 59, of Clovis, a purchasing supervisor of supplies for Bank of America-US Operations, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, in Clovis.
She was born May 21, 1944, in Tucumcari, to Ola and Paul Yates.
She was a volunteer and a board member of the American Red Cross Zia Chapter in Clovis for several years. She was an avid participant at the Ned Houk Park Race Track, with her husband building the cars and she racing them. Please join us in remembering this wonderfully unique lady and share your stories of how she affected your life.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James A. Green; and her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel P. Shayotovich of Clovis; two sons, Marty Green (and wife, Melany) of Palmer, Alaska, and Doug Green (and wife, Carol) of Vacaville, Calif.; a daughter, Kathy Coatney of Livermore, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Green of Livermore; two sons-in-law, Jim McKenzie of Livermore and Woody Gant of Manteca, Calif.; two brothers, Ralph Adams (and wife, Jo Del) of Gun Barrel City, Texas, and Leonard Adams (and wife, Helen) of Mabank, Texas; a sister, Eloise Edwards (and husband, Ron) of Clovis; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 15 nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Dick Ross will officiate the services.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Red Cross.

William Todd Shiplet
Services: Have been held.
William Todd Shiplet, 37, of Midland, Texas, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1965, in Hobbs, to Sandra and Bill Shiplet.
He moved with his family to Midland in 1971. He graduated from Midland High School in 1984. He was best known for his athletic ability in football and basketball. Todd attended the University of Texas in Austin and Texas Tech University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He was a supporter of the American Cancer Society through Round Up and a supporter of Hillcrest School through the Beach Ball Blast. He owned and operated S&S Equipment with his father.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ralph Stanfield.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Diann Shiplet Hahn of Clovis; a nephew, Spencer Clay Hahn of Clovis; paternal grandparents, Josephine and Lem Shiplet of Clovis; maternal grandmother, Irene Stanfield of Clovis; and a godchild, Allison Bradlee Steward of Midland.
Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
Pallbearers will be Steve Mills, Reece Boudreaux, Billy Joe and John B. Steward, Jimmy Essman and Vincent Brigham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Floyd, Mike Barton, Craig McDonnold, Earl Michie, Todd Greer, Bill Sr. and William Steward, Jeff Howes, Dan Carter, Steve Steen, Chuck Finley, Hal Rasmussen, Paul Fry, James Welborn, Nathan Pallanes, Lance Wright, Brian Carney, Tom Hill, David Nini, Wendall Iverson, Jimmy Crawford, Sam Lawson and Blake Bozeman.

Donald Shipley

Mr. Donald Shipley, 89, of Dimmitt, Texas, a retired service manager, died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at Quality Care Nursing Center in Waco, Texas.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1913, in St. Vrain, to John and Nancy Shirley Shipley.
He was a resident of Dimmitt since 1977. He had also lived in Friona, Plainvew, Chickasha, Okla., and Clovis. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dimmitt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a grandson, Gregory Don Mathos.
He is survived by a son, Dr. Don Shipley (and wife, Narciada) of Waco; a daughter, Dona Lee Mathos of San Angelo, Texas; two grandchildren, Don Shipley (and wife, Christine) and Chimene Shipley Dupler (and husband, Todd); and four great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Howard Rhodes will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Dimmitt.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Bill Shipp
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Bill Shipp, 77, of Cheshire, Ore., died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, in Cheshire, Ore.
He was born on May 19, 1926, in Portales, to Madora and Joseph H. Shipp.
He grew up in Portales. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II . He married Ysletta Griffin on Aug. 12, 1947. He worked as a painter and dry waller until his retirement. In 1961 he and his wife moved to Oregon. They returned to Portales in 1975. Family members said he enjoyed fishing and making road trips in his motor home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a son, Allen Shipp.
Survivors include a son, Ron Shipp of Portales; a daughter, Charlotte Nickolaus of Cheshire, Ore.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Conley Moore of Alamogordo and Doris Johnson of Portales.
Scott Reeves will officiate the services. Burial will be at Portales Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be his family and friends.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.
