Mable Rogers
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Mable C. Rogers, 87, of Clovis, a retired bookkeeper, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center.
She was born on March 29, 1916, in Sugar Grove, Ark., to Charles “Pop” and Ida “Mom” Maines.
She was a resident of Clovis for most of her life. She graduated from East Central State Teachers College in 1936. She married Herman C. “Red” Rogers on Oct. 21, 1943, in Clovis. She was a member of the Christian Church where she played the piano. She also played the piano at several nursing homes in the area. She worked at Bryson’s and McDaniel’s Furniture Stores and at Harbes Hallmark Store. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter, Kerry Jane Rogers.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Rogers of Clovis and John P. Rogers of Odessa, Texas; four grandchildren, Ronnie Rogers (and wife, Pam) and Ryan, Eric and Kari Rogers; and a great-granddaughter, Maia Noel Rogers.
David Keller will officiate the services.
Cremation has taken place.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan and Eric Rogers, Terry and Tommy Townsend, Jim Hileman and Jim Gilliland.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Mark Rollins
Services: No services will be held.
Mr. Mark Rollins, 62, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at Farwell Convalescent Center.
Cremation will take place.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Alvin Romero
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Alvin Theodore Romero, 43, a rancher, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, in Garita.
He was born May 11, 1959, in Las Vegas, N.M. He grew up in Trujillo and attended Robertson High School in Las Vegas.
He had ranched for 25 years at the Hage and Webb Land and Cattle Company in Garita.
He was a member of the New Mexico Cattle Growers Association and the U.S. Team Roping Championships, where he was an avid competitor. He was a member of the Center Street United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Angel Romero; his mother, Sara Romero; two brothers, Lee and Herman Romero; his grandmother, Franciel Hage; and his father-in-law, Olan Webb.
He is survived by his wife Missie; six children; Maranda, Christina, Julianna, Sara, Olana and Alvin Chance, all of Tucumcari and Garita; his father, Pete Romero of Trujillo; six brothers; Dan Romero of Trujillo, Fred (and companion, Pam) Romero and Nick (and wife, Corrine) Romero, all of Las Vegas; Jerry (and wife, Penny) of Dalhart, Texas; Richard Romero of Springtown, Texas; and Louis Romero of Garden City, Kan.; two sisters, Irene (and husband, Miguel) Martinez of Las Vegas, and Sarah (and husband, Diego) Quintana of Pecos; three sisters-in-law, Dee Romero of Denver, Colo., Mary Lou Romero of Hereford, Texas, Laura (and husband Arlan) McKinney of Hartly, Texas; his mother-in-law, Carol Webb of Garita; a brother-in-law, Larry (and wife, Jennifer) Webb of New Kirk; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial took place in the Hage-Webb Cemetery in Garita.
Arrangements were by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.

Margarito Romero
Services: Have been held.
Margarito Romero, 91, of Portales, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born Feb. 22, 1912, in Puerto de Luna, to Rita and Norberto Archibeque.
He was raised by Joe and Antonia Romero in Puerto de Luna and used the Romero name. During his lifetime he was employed by the city of Roswell, the railroad and on various ranches as a ranch hand. He was a member of the St. Rosa of Lima Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Felicita Duran; and four brothers, Eugene, Juan, Manuel and Moises Archibeque.
A private burial was held at Portales Cemetery.
Wheeler Mortuary of Portales is handling arrangements.

Nicolasa Maria Romero
Services: Have been held.
Nicolasa “Nicky” Maria Romero, 66, of Clovis died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at her home.
She was born on March 18, 1937, in Pastura to Juan and Estephanita Dimas Mares.
She was a counselor for the State of New Mexico. She came to Clovis six years ago. She was of the Catholic faith. Family members said she loved to play bingo, crochet and cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Steve Mares.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana Klimek (and husband, Frank) of Clovis and Stephanie Romero of Clovis; three brothers, Carmel Mares and Percy Mares, both of Albuquerque and Bobby Mares of Silver City; two sisters, Audrey Fajardo of Clovis and Dulce Serrano of Santa Rosa; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pastor Maurice Monson will officiate the services.
Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Dixie Rondell
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Dixie May “Diane” Rondell, 83, of Texico, died June 4, 2004, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born July 14, 1920, in Rifle, Colo., to Richard and Maudie (Pigg) Carlisle.
Her parents moved to Safford, Ariz., when she was 9 years old. She married Leland Rondell on July 23, 1943, in Riverside, Calif. She moved to Texico in 2001.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Helen Carlisle; and two infant children.
She is survived by cousins Dee and Jimmie Rhoads, Billie and Bill Clanton and Mona Bethnay, all of Midland, Texas, W. G. Swaim of Lovington, Dave Swaim of Salida, Colo., Donald Swaim of Portales, Mary and George Hill of Texico, Pearlia and Delbert Tivis of Clovis, Goldie and Troy Wall of Lubbock, Marvin Eminger of Cashion, Okla., James W. Carlisle of Commerce City, Colo., Clara Hughes of Plainview, Texas, Glenda Bell of Rose, Okla., Betty Chambers of Portales, John R. Carlisle of Cashion, Martha Robbins of Azaela, Ore., Mary Jean Hayhurst of Amarillo, L. D. Burrows Jr. and Edwin Burrows, both of Portales and Gale Hellums of Watkinsville, Ga.; She was “special grandmother” to Duwain and Rhonda Hill of Texico, Jo Beth and Steve Fletcher of Albuquerque, Drew and Jennifer Sours of Amarillo and Jaynee and Marcus Weems of Lovington; and “Grandma Dixie” to Jonathan and Jarron Hill, Brayden Fletcher, Devanne and Saylor Sours, Chasity, Dylan and Cotty Weems and special friends Mike and Judy Crever and Bill and Susan Dimpfel and Joan.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, at Safford-Union Cemetery.
The Rev. Rob Hollis will officiate the services.
Honorary Pallbearers will include Duwain Hill, Steve Fletcher, Drew Sours, Butch Tharp, Marcus Weems, Clint Tharp, Craig Tharp and her Sunday school class.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.

Ross, Walter Elbert
Services: Have been held.
Walter Elbert Ross, 86, of Albuquerque, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, in Albuquerque.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1917, in Arkansas, to Walter and Mary Elizabeth Clement Ross.
While living in Grapevine, Ark., his family owned Walter Ross and Sons Grocery. After he moved to Albuquerque he was a salesman of fountain supplies for Rocky Mountain Wholesale. He then moved to Portales, where he owned Highway 70 Restaurant. After retiring he moved back to Albuquerque and was a member of Hoffmantown Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alline Ross.
Survivors include two sons, J.R. "Dick" Ross (and wife, Norma) of Clovis and Billy W. Ross (Maxine) of Albuquerque; a daughter, Mary A. Barychko (Brian) of Albuquerque; a brother, Billy R. Ross (B.J.) of Sacramento, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Chapel of Sunrise, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE in Albuquerque.
The Rev. Ken Moore will officiate the services. Arrangements are by Sunrise Funeral Options of Albuquerque.

L.D. Rothwell
Service: Have been held.
L.D. Rothwell, 79, of Clovis died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Laurel Ridge Healthcare in Clovis.
He was born Dec. 10, 1924, at River Camp, Texas, to Lee and Neva Rothwell.
He married Ramia Lee Conway on Nov. 2, 1946. They moved to Clovis in 1947, and owned and operated Rothwell Body Shop until his retirement. He was a leader of Blacktower 4-H for many years, and a member of the Clovis Bass Club and Trinity United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Danny. Survivors include his wife, Ramia Lee Rothwell of Clovis; a son, Larry Rothwell (and wife Carol) of Clovis; two grandchildren, Lance Rothwell (Elizabeth) and LeeAnne Rothwell, all of Clovis; two great-granddaughters, Taylor Rothwell and Kaitlyn Herrera; two brothers, Dewie Rothwell (Colene) of Brownwood, Texas, and Bill Rothwell (Nancy) of Childress, Texas.
The Rev. James Kelly will officiate the service.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Chris Cummins, Charles Eudey, Jerry Belew, Randy Harris, Carl Hahn and Anthony Jones.
Honorary pallbearers are Howard Cox and Ralph Brent.
Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Children’s Home in Portales.

Patricia Davidson Rucker
Services: Have been held.
Patricia Davidson Rucker, 78, of Amarillo, formerly of Floydada, Texas, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at the Craig Methodist Nursing Home in Amarillo.
She was born on March 11, 1925, in Warrington, England, to John and Jeanne Davidson.
She married Ralph Rucker on Jan. 8, 1944, in Warrington. She arrived in America on March 9, 1944, in Boston and received her citizenship on Jan. 31, 1952.
She moved to Floydada in October of 1951 and to Amarillo in March of 2003. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Rebekahs and the Cosmopolitan club.
Family members said she loved her husband, children and grandchildren and enjoyed reading, sewing and her Sunday school family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Davidson; three sisters, Maggie Radley, Nancy Lunn and Jean Hay; and a grandson, Sean Rucker.
Survivors include her husband; three children, Max Rucker (and wife, Cheryl) and Patrick Rucker (Kathy), all of Amarillo and Linda Woodall (Woody) of Clovis; a sister, Sis Topham of Appleton Cheshire, England; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Anthony D. Sisemore will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Floyd County Memorial Park

Ralph Rucker
Services: Have been held.
Ralph Rucker, 83, of Amarillo, and formerly of Floydada, died Monday, May 24, 2004, at the BSA Hospice in Amarillo.
He was born on June 5, 1920, in Childress, Texas, to Erve and Myrtle Bethany Rucker.
He graduated from high school in Childress, Texas. He married Patricia Mary Davidson on Jan. 8, 1944, in Warrington, England. He moved to Floydada in October 1951 and to Amarillo in March 2003. He served in England with Civil Service Technician Detachment from 1942 until 1944. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp from 1944 until 1946, having served in England and Guam during World War II. He was the owner of Rucker’s OK Tire Store in Floydada. He was the original co-founder of the Floydada Boy Scout Troop, lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, sponsor of Floydada Baseball and Little League and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Floydada, where he was a member of the Auditorium Class.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, a brother, J.W. Rucker; and two sisters, Dealva Henson and Faye Gaines.
Survivors include three children, Max Rucker (and wife, Cheryl) of Amarillo, Linda Woodall (Woody) of Clovis and Patrick Rucker (Kathy) of Amarillo; a brother, Troy Rucker of Redding, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Anthony D. Sisemore will officiate the services.
Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada.

Blake Rundell
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Blake D. Rundell, 26, of Clovis, a spray pilot, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, near Farwell.
He was born on Nov. 4, 1976, in Hereford, Texas. He was a 1995 graduate of Clovis High School. He married Molly Muennink on March 11, 2000, in Hondo, Texas. They moved to Clovis last year from Kansas. He was a spray pilot for Tate Spraying Service in Clovis. A member of First Baptist Church of Bovina, he taught the junior high and high school Sunday school classes. He was serving the church as the interim youth director.
Survivors include his wife, Molly of Clovis; his father, Kim (and wife Kathy) Rundell of Nazareth, Texas; his mother, Nancy (and husband Tommy) Ormon of Keller, Texas; two sisters, Kami Rundell of Nazareth and Chelsea Ormon of Keller; two brothers, Scott Rundell of Lubbock and Charlie Rundell of Nazareth; two grandmothers, Alta Hutto of Clovis and Nadine Paine of Lubbock; grandparents, Rex and Dorothy Ormon of Clovis and Tommy and Kay Williams of Bovina; and a great-grandmother, Julia Leake of Friona.
The Rev. Aaron Reed will officiate the services.
Burial will follow in the Bovina Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Bovina.
Arrangements are by Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona.

Keith Randal Runyan
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Keith Randal Runyan, 73, of Clovis, a retired carpenter, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at his home.
He was born on Feb. 3, 1930, in McAlister to Roscoe and May Dodson Runyan.
He was raised in McAlister. He had lived in Denver until he retired in 1994 when he moved back to Clovis. He was a past Union Representative for the Carpenter’s Millwright Union.
Survivors include five sons, Wes Runyan (and wife, Jan) of Roswell, Drew Runyan (Patsy) of Portales, Randy Runyan (Natalie) of Englewood, Colo., Todd Runyan (Kim) of Castle Rock, Colo. and Matt Runyan of Denver; a daughter, Janice Jenkins (Sam) of Texico; two brothers, Maurice Runyan of House and Norman Runyan of Silver City; two sisters, Nadine Downey of Melrose and Yvonne Philabaum of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Sherman Martin will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Browning Cemetery in Quay County.
Pallbearers will be Drew, Randy, Todd, Matt and Wes Runyan and Sam Jenkins.
Memorial contributions may be made to House Baptist Church.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Clyde Rush
Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis.
Mr. Clyde E. Rush, 73, of Clovis, retired U.S. Air Force, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.
He was born on Sept. 12, 1929, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Lillian and Earl Rush Sr.
He attended schools in Michigan, Connecticut and Ohio. He joined the Air Force while living in New York, retiring after 20 years. Later he retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. Family members said he was an avid golfer, he enjoyed playing golf with buddies and participated in many Santa Fe golf tournaments.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Tony.
He is survived by two daughters, Valerie Adkins (and significant other, David Fallis) of Clovis and Lorilee Rumsey (and husband, Roger) of Los Alamos; his mother, Lillian Hickaman of Bloomville, Ohio; two brothers, Ronald Rush of Finley, Ohio, and Olen Rush of Florida; a sister, Elaine Rush of New Canaan, Conn.; two grandchildren, Shanel Adkins and David Lee Fallis, both of Clovis; and his ex-wife and friend, Mary Lou of Layton of Utah.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends and neighbors.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

SHAWNA RUSH
Services: Have been held.
Shawna Lyn Rush, 28, of Loveland, Colo., died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
She was born on May 28, 1975, in Portales, to Roy and Johnanna Wilhoit Rush of Elida.
The family moved to Clovis where she attended Lockwood Elementary and Yucca Junior High. She was baptized at the 21st Street Church of Christ. In 1988 the family moved to Fort Lupton, Colo. where she graduated from Fort Lupton High School in 1993. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Longmont. She coached a girls’ little league basketball team in Fort Lupton, was a Boulder County 4-H leader and a mentor for Mountain States Children’s Home.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Roi Leigh McKee; her maternal grandfather, Lowel Wilhoit; paternal grandparents, Alpheus and Mary Rush; an uncle, Andy Wilhoit; and a maternal great-grandmother, Willie Musick.
Survivors include her parents of Longmont; two sisters, Tamara Manasco of Clovis and Nikki Basart (and husband, Mike) of Loveland; her maternal grandmother, Maxine Wilhoit of Portales; five nieces; three half-nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at Howe Mortuary in Longmont.
Bob Lewis and Joe Truitt will officiate the services. Burial will be at Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont, Colo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mountain States Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1097, Longmont, CO 80502.
Arrangements are by Howe Mortuary of Longmont.

Betty Lou Ryan
Service: Will be held at a later date.
Betty Lou Ryan, 71, a retired Avon representative, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at her home in Clovis.
She was born July 16, 1932, in Topeka, Shawnee County, Kan., to Harold and Bernice Bonnett Green.
A family member said Mrs. Ryan was involved in many church and craft activities. She was a member of the Lutheran Church for many years. She was an active Avon representative for 31 years and received numerous awards and commendations for exemplary service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, William Bassett Ryan, in July 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Brian Ryan of Texico, James Ryan of Albuquerque and David Ryan of Kansas City, Kan.; a daughter, Stephanie Jordan of Enid, Okla.; and a brother, Virgil Green of Olathe, Kan.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Information will be available by message at phone number 512-554-1766.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home, 800 E. Manana, Clovis.
