ROSE L. ARMIJO, 83, of Fairview died Friday after a long illness.
She was a member of the Altar and Rosary society of La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. She worked previously for the Senior Companion program.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tranquilino Armijo; parents, Pedro and Aurelia Lopez; brother, Lupe Lopez; and sons, Jose Armijo and Elizario Joe Armijo.
She is survived by her children, Norman Larry Armijo and wife Ernestine of Albuquerque, Lawrence Armijo of Denver, and Leanora Vasquez and husband Mario of Las Cruces; eight grandchildren; sisters, Bennie L. Sanchez, Mary Simmy Jaramillo and Mary Chavez, all of Albuquerque, and Lorraine Burleson of Los Lunas; brothers, Richard and Michael Lopez, both of Albuquerque; and many other relatives.
Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. today at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque.

BARTON MARION "SONY" EVANS, 73, of Albuquerque died unexpectedly Tuesday.
He was born in Santa Fe. He was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed horse races, dominos and almost any sport. He was a retired master sergeant of the U.S. Air Force; he traveled and lived all over the U.S. and the world, until settling down in his home town of Santa Fe, where he served as the state purchasing agent for a brief time. He was an unfortunate victim of robbery and had suffered many years of rehabilitation.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Law Evans; and mother, Florence Elizabeth Burrus.
He is survived by his wife, Lula Faye (Boggs) Evans; sister, Joan Hadley of Santa Fe; daughter, Eileen E. Uveric and husband Alex Uveric of Seattle, Wash.; son, Michael R. Evans and wife Mary of Houston; daughter, Patricia A. Evans and husband James Ortega of Santa Fe; five grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Berardinelli Family Chapel with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

JOSEPHINE GROUNDNER, 88, of Los Alamos died Sunday after a long illness.
She was born in Hudson, Mass.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Olsen and husband Bill; sister, Sophie Kramer; five grandchildren; and many other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sombrillo Nursing Center, 1011 Sombrillo Center, Los Alamos.

WILLIAM VINCENT KIRKPATRICK of Santa Fe died suddenly Saturday.
He served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He was better known as William Vincent, the owner and operator of William Vincent Fine Art on Canyon Road. He first came to Canyon Road in the mid 1950's and became a student of Alfred Morang. His work is best described as an explosion of color and light and unrestrained use of color hues and dramatic patterns of brushwork. He traveled to all continents of the earth and then settled in his studio and created his impressions of the world. His florals expressed his love and spirituality of life. He has many collectors worldover.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Georgia Maryol; sister, Sara Wright and husband Joe; daughters, Royanna Smith, Alena Brookshire and husband James, Deanna Corso and husband Dan, and Teresa Kirkpatrick; five grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

FLORA A. TRUJILLO, 95, of Ojo Caliente died last Tuesday after a brief illness.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed A. Trujillo; brothers, Juan U., Jose S., Frederico and Nemecio Archuleta; and sister, Ascencion Sanchez.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Trujillo of Ojo Caliente; brother, Willie Archuleta of Española; one grandson; and many other relatives and friends.

LUCILLE CHRISTINA BORREGO TRUJILLO, 79, of Santa Fe died Friday after a long illness.
She was born in Santa Cruz. She taught school in El Rito from 1945 to 1947, then was employed and later retired from the state of New Mexico. She loved her family, and enjoyed caring for animals and plants. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a devoted supporter of the New Mexico School for the Deaf. She served on the board with the Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing appointed by Governor Bruce King for her service during 1991 to 1997.
She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Rene of Las Vegas Nev.
She is survived by her husband, J. Floyd Trujillo; daughter, Lenna Denise Trujillo of Santa Fe; brother, Harold Borrego and wife Virginia of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters, Eileen Garcia and husband Leroy of Albuquerque; Elsie Ortega of Fairview; and many other relatives and friends.

He was born in Albuquerque. He was a carpenter, loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
