STANLEY D. COFFEY, 93, of Española died Sunday after a short illness.
He was born in Joplin, Mo. Beginning in the 1930s, he worked for construction companies building roads in many states. He worked on highways and bridges in New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Yellowstone and the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. After serving three years in the Army during the World War II, he worked for the Lowdermilk Construction Co. from 1945 until his retirement in 1976.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice; daughter, JoAnn; brother, Gene Coffey; and sisters, Virgina Higgs and Elaine Benedetti.
He is survived by his daughters, Judy Pippin of Española and Janet Zirkle and husband Reid of Los Alamos; two grandchildren, both of Española; sisters, Maxine Gunther of Denver and Ruth Steinbach of Santa Clara, Calif.
A visitation will be held at 8 p.m. today in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Santa Fe Memorial Garden Cemetery. CLARIBEL CROSHAW of Santa Fe died Saturday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Crowshaw.
She is survived by her children, Beth Castellano and husband Jerome, and George Crowshaw and wife Christy, all of Santa Fe, Ann Kendall of Denver, and Peggy Howsmom and husband Randy of Fall River Mills, Calif.; six grandchildren; and many other relatives.

PERFECTA "TITA" MARTINEZ-FOLSOM, 87, of Española died Sunday after a long illness.
She was a member of the Carmelitas and a member of the Holy Family Society of La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. She worked as a restaurant cook and waitress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Folsom; parents, Prescilliano and Delfinia Martinez; and sister, Margie Hall.
She is survived by her daughter, Flora Norris and husband Delton of Española; sisters, Louisa Vigil and husband Elfido of Utah and Angie Archuleta of Colorado; brothers, Tom Martinez and wife Eva of Utah and Martin Martinez of Velarde; two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at 4:30 p.m. today with a rosary to be recited at 5:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. OCTAVIANA GARCIA, 88, of Española died Saturday after a short illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alberto and Juanita Martinez; husband, Medardo Garcia; sons, Mateo and Rudy Garcia; two grandsons; brothers, Silvero, Necomidas, Christobal, Felix and Ignacio Martinez; and sisters, Ciria Manzanares and Mabel Garcia.
She is survived by her sister, Deluvinia Velarde of Aztec; son, Medardo Garcia Jr. of La Mesa; daughters, Ursusinia Espinoza of Española, Sylvia Marker and husband Freddy of Roston, Okla., Marcella and Bobby Borrego of Española, Elaiza Montoya and husband Norman of Arroyo de Aqua, Ramona Morfin and husband Jose of Salitar and Juanita Vialpando and husband Luis Zepeda of Cañones; and many other relatives and friends.

ELIZABETH HANCOCK LEFFLER, 83, of Los Alamos died Monday.
Known as Betty, she was born in Kansas City, Mo. She graduated from Paseo High School, Kansas City Junior College and the University of Missouri in Colombia, Mo. After college, she trained as a medical laboratory technician at St. Joseph Hospital, Kansas City, and worked intermittently as a technician. From 1965 until 1987, she worked for the Los Alamos National Laboratory as medical laboratory technician, administrative assistant and then as technical editor. Organizations she belonged to included the Park Forest Women's Club, the American Association of University Women, League of Women Voters, Los Alamos Historical Society and the Los Alamos County Republican Party. She served on the New Mexico Human Rights Commission from 1991 to 1992. She was a member of Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church where she served on the vestry. She was a volunteer for the Betty Dare Senior Center Day Out Program. She was a baseball fan, enjoyed the outdoors, especially walking and swimming, and attending movies and dance performances.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith Grosjean Hancock and Albert Clifton Hancock; husband, Ira Delmont Leffler and sister Miriam Hancock Curry Decker.
She is survived by her sister, Martha Bazan of Guffey, Colo.; daughter, Sue Ellen Rael of Corrales; son, John Leffler of New York City; and many other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 21 at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church in Los Alamos. MARIA TOMASITA OTERO, 73, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Tuesday at the Vida Encantada Rehab & Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born in Las Vegas, N.M. She was a former resident of Las Gallinas. She retired from Las Vegas Medical Center after 13 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fidel and Petrita Ortega; husband, Charlie Otero; brothers, Ruben Ortega, Mike Ortega, Secundino Ortega and Pete Ortega; sisters, Stella Sandoval and Pola Montano; and longtime partner, Edd Waldo.
She is survived by her children, Charlie Otero and wife Sue of Las Cruces, Bertha Jimenez and husband Max, and Liz Garcia and husband Jeff, all of Las Vegas, N.M., Gloria Jean Mejillas and husband Marcos of Wagon Mound, and Edward Paul Waldo and wife Anna of Albuquerque; children whom she raised, Alfred Waldo and wife Yvonne of Las Vegas, N.M., Wanda Waldo of Las Vegas, Nev., Glenn Waldo of Albuquerque, Albert Waldo of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Darlene Barron and husband Juan Antonio of Nipomo, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
