LEONA ANNE GRAVES ARMIJO, 69, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Thursday at her home.
She was born in Erick, Okla., and was a former resident of Springer. She graduated from Springer High School and received her bachelor of arts and master's degrees at New Mexico Highlands University. She taught business classes in Clayton, Dulce and the West Las Vegas, N.M., schools. She was a devout reader and adored her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Florence Graves; and brothers, Robert Graves and Nat Young.
She is survived by her husband, Joe O. Armijo of Las Vegas, N.M.; children, Rob Armijo and wife Glenda of Las Vegas, N.M., Ron Armijo and wife Brenda of Salina, Kan., Ginger Erwin, Cindy Dicenta and husband Gary and Pam Wheeler, all of McCook, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the East Drive Baptist Church in Las Vegas, N.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzhiemer's or Paws of Las Vegas, N.M.

RUTH ANN BOWER, 72, of Los Alamos died Friday after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
She is survived by her husband, Jerald D. Bower; and sons, Bruce Bower and wife Juanita, and Brent Bower and wife Lee Ann, all of Albuquerque; three grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

ALBERT "CHIEF" GONZALES, 78, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Thursday at St. Vincent Hospital after a long illness.
He served in the U.S. Navy. He was an employee of the Melton Ranch from 1960 until 2003, when he retired as ranch manager and continued to live at his home on the ranch. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and playing cards with his grandchildren. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonafacio and Sofia Gonzales; wife, Augustina Gonzales; sisters and brothers, Frances Maese, Efren G. Pena, Ramona G. Duran, Pedro Gonzales, Juan Bautista Gonzales, Jose Maurilio Gonzales, Eloisa G. Lovato and Balbina G. Maldonado.
He is survived by his children, Primitivo J. Gonzales and wife Cruzita of Albuquerque, Antonio Gonzales and wife Annabelle, Marie Dolores Ortiz, Julia Gonzales and Ruben Parra, Albert Gonzales Jr., Jennie Lou Vigil and Estevan Gonzales and friend Annette, all of Las Vegas, N.M., and Anna Ortiz and husband Isaias of Ft. Collins, Colo.; six grandchildren; sister, Agueda G. Lujan of Las Vegas, N.M., his dear pet, Ringo; and many other relatives and friends.

MARGARET J. LOPEZ, 81, of Santa Fe died Wednesday.

CLYDE A. POPE, 79, died Tuesday.
He served his country during World War II in the Navy as a radio operator aboard a Navy LSD. He moved himself and his family to Santa Fe in 1957 where he took the position of store manager for the Payless Drug Store chain. He became an active member of the community, joining the Lions and Elks clubs.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Valda Binley, Faye Boyer, Besta Short and Ruth Moody; and daughter, Linda Lee Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Pope; brother, Paul Pope and wife Ruby of Chandler, Ariz.; son, Steve Pope; four grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was born in Vallecitos. She was a choir member at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Andreita Jaramillo.
She is survived by her husband, Teodoro Romero; son, Orlando Gallegos Jr. and wife Priscilla; daughters, Irene Martinez, Freda Gonzales and Rodger Turner, Rita Roybal and Bill Salazar, Rosemary Herrera and husband Richard, Sylvia Eleanor Martinez and husband Elmer, and Carla Gallegos; 18 grandchildren; and many other relatives.
