JOSE RAMON ROMERO
Age 98, a lifelong resident of Nambe, passed on to eternal life with Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 21, 2008. Jose was preceded in death by his infant son, Samuel; parents, Vidal and Ramona Romero; brothers, Bernardo Romero, Martiniano and wife Josefita and Jose Petronilo and wife Juanita; sisters, Marilla Romero, Ana Maria and husband Elizeo Gomez, Eleuteria and husband Jose Elvirio Ortiz; grandson, Vidal Santos Romero; brothers-in-law, Jose Dolores Sandoval and Gilbert Garduño. Jose retired after 50 years of service from New Mexico Pipe Trades Local 412 Union. In 1943 he became a member of Industrial Union of Marine and Shipbuilding Workers of America working on war time ships in San Pedro, CA. He was a member of Sociedad del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus and Sociedad Proteccion Mutua de Trabajadores Unidos (S.P.M.D.T.U.) Concilio #57 de Nambe. He was a lifelong parishioner of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe and helped to build the Mission Church Sacred Heart of Jesus in Nambe to which he faithfully attended. Mr. Romero is survived by his wife of 76 years, Frances Romero; children, Raymond Romero and wife Toshiko of Hawaii, Wilfred Romero and wife Patty of Nambe, Bobby Romero and Marie of Nambe, Annabelle Pando and husband Paul of Albuquerque, Barbara Alba and husband Xavier of Santa Fe; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Arturo Romero and wife Mary of Nambe; sisters, Teresita Sandoval of Nambe, Genovea Garduño of Grants and numerous other relatives and friends. Age 98, a resident of Chamisal, born on December 8, 1910, passed away peacefully in her family’s home on Sunday, December 28, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Petro Lino Dominguez and son, Joe. Ofresinia was a generous and loving mother and grandmother who was very proud of her family. She was strong willed and very kind hearted, which she demonstrated through her active participation at the San Antonio de Padua Parish in Peñasco and the Carmelita Society. Ofresinia is survived by her three daughters, Theresa Jaramillo, Rebecca Montoya and Reyna Dominguez; son, Jacob Dominguez; 26 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Age 66, a resident of Española, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2009 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esequiel and Adela Padilla; sisters, Delcida Montoya and Epimenia Romero and other loving niece and nephews. Carlos retired after many years of service as a heavy equipment operator for KSL in Los Alamos. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
