RUBEN J. VIGIL
Age 50, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2008. He was preceded in death by his father, Florian Vigil; sister, Angie Vigil; grandfather, Frank Pacheco and cousin, David Lopez. Ruben loved the mountains, horseback riding and animals all together. He referred to himself as the “black wolf”. Mr. Vigil is survived by his children, Leroy J. Age 48, a resident of Alcalde, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2008. Daniel was born on March 16, 1960, to Jose Eloy Esquibel who preceded him in death, and Vicentita Esquibel. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Derrick Jacob Esquibel in 1979 and Donald L. Esquibel in 2003; grandparents, Lucas and Adela Trujillo and Lucario and Encarnacion Esquibel. Age 26, a resident of Albuquerque and originally of Santa Cruz, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 23, 2008. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Trinidad Montoya and maternal grandfather, Ben Valdez. Angelo was self-employed as an electrician while a student at UNM. He was a 2000 graduate of Los Alamos High School. Angelo is survived by his father, Wayne C. Age 83, a resident of El Rancho passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; Mr. and Mrs. Anastacio Gomez and her siblings. Consuelo was a resident of El Rancho for thirty years and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and Española Leader School, where she served as a secretary and treasurer. She was also a Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque for four years. She loved to travel and cook for her family. She will be dearly missed. Consuelo is survived by her husband of 63 years, David F. Gallegos of El Rancho; children, Arnold Gallegos and wife Abigail of Trinidad, CO, Donna Gonzalez and husband George of La Mesilla, Raul Gallegos and companion Helen of El Rancho, Albert Gallegos and wife Evy of Santa Fe, Dennis Gallegos and wife DJ of Tularosa; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; caretaker, Senaida Ortega of Santa Fe and numerous other relatives and friends. Ercilia was a life time member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar Society. She was a 1934 Graduate of Loretto Academy, and retired from the Los Alamos Labs after 20 years. She worked at Brons Hospital in Santa Fe, and she worked to the ripe age of 80 years old. Age 72, a resident of Sombrillo, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on August 31, 2008 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elias Bustos and Barbarita Maestas; father and mother-in-law, Ramon and Arminda Martinez; beloved son, Barney Bustos. Manuel retired from the Public Service Company of New Mexico, where he worked as a Journeyman Lineman. Manuel was a very loving, caring and generous man. He loved spending time with his family, hunting, and watching sporting events. William Frank Brewer
Age 85, a resident of Baja California, Punta Banda, passed away from this life on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 in San Diego, CA. Frank retired from Zia Co. Los Alamos, NM. He was a resident of Punta Banda for over 25 years, where he served as a friend, a mechanic and an all around handyman for many people. His joy was to fish in the ocean. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Brewer (1964), Violeta Brewer Maes; brothers-in-law, Jerry Cox, Bobby Mares, Max Avila and two grandchildren, Mathew and Melissa Atencio. Frank is survived by his companion of many years, Jenny Wilson; children, Dorothy Brewer and companion David Roybal of San Ildefonso Pueblo. Patty Romero and husband Wilfred of Nambe, Susie Gilbert and husband Greg of Winterhaven, CA., Frank and wife Carol of Santa Clara Pueblo, Kathy Brandstetter and husband Marvin of Alcalde, Renee Sanchez and husband Rex of Los Lunas; sisters, Helen Brewer Cox of Nebraska, Fay Mares of Albuquerque, Be Berthiaume and husband Ron of Kingsland, GA.; brother, Roger Weahkee of San Ildefonso Pueblo; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Age 84, born September 28, 1923, a resident of Velarde passed away on Thursday September 4, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pablin and Cleotilde Romero; brothers, Marcos and Martin Vigil; daughters, Lousita Sanchez, Mary Lena Garcia; sons, Emilito and Anthony Sanchez; son-in-law, Dario Garcia; daughters-in-law, Miquelita and Margaret Sanchez; grandson, Andrew Sanchez; granddaughter, Jessica Sanchez. Antonio was a very loving father, always a smile on his face. He liked to spend time doing yard work and chopping wood. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. Our Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, Virginia S. Trujillo 67, of Abiquiu was called by our Lord to be at his side on Wednesday, September 4, 2008. Virginia was the second of twelve children born to Jacobo and Severiana Salazar of Cañones, New Mexico. Shortly thereafter, she came to live with Ramon and Susana Suazo and would be raised by them at San Jose del Barranco (Abiquiu). Virginia is preceded in death by her Father, Jacobo Salazar, Mama Susana Archuleta; Step-Fathers, Ramon Suazo and Benjamin Archuleta; Grandson, Angel Luchetti; Sister, Aggie Garcia; In-laws, Jose C. and Belen Trujillo; Brothers-in-law, Rudy Herrera, Eliseo Valdez Jr., Jim Evans and Jake Garcia; Sisters-in-law, Lala Garcia and Rosila McCall. Age 55, a resident of Lower San Pedro passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2008 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Cleo Graham. Nancy was a resident of Lower San Pedro for 6 years. She was a very outgoing person who loved to travel, cook, and was an avid animal lover. She was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. Age 82, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2008. Bonifacio was preceded in death by his brothers, Nino and Tony Mondragon; sisters, Floraida Tafoya and Josefina Trujillo. He was a Veteran of WWII and Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Navy and Army. He retired steelworker for the Colorado Iron and Fuel Company. Mr. Mondragon is survived by his beloved spouse of 58 years, Evangeline Casias Mondragon; children, Joella Mortillaro, and Dennis and Carl Mondragon; grandchildren, Camaron and Ryan Mortillaro, Landon Mondragon, Amy Doom and Chris Mondragon; great-grandchildren, Delany and Hayden Doom and numerous other relatives and friends. Age 38, beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Monday, September 8, 2008 at his home in Escondido, California. Since the day Ernie was born, he brought love, laughter and joy to the world. Ernie was a hard-working man, especially when it came to helping his family. If he was asked to help, he never said no. His laugh and his beautiful smile will be forever missed. Ernie was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto Archuleta, his paternal grandparents, Adelaido and Maria Elena Archuleta and maternal grandparents, Cruz and Delphina Trujillo; mother-in-law, Lorraine Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Brandy, his beloved mother Rosina Martinez and her husband, Eloy, his children, Mendie, Ernest, Heather and their mother, Melba Trujillo, and Justine and her mother, Audrey Borrego, and his grandchildren, Alexia, Julian and Jonathan.
