Charles Rick McKay
(August 30, 1943 - November 30, 2012)

Charles Rick McKay, age 69, died Friday, November 30, 2012 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Clayton Church of Christ with Terrell Jones, pastor of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Clayton, officiating. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Charles Rick McKay was born on August 30, 1943 to Charles Drake McKay and Billy Jane Chatham McKay in Burkburnett, Texas. He graduated from Levelland High School in 1961 and from Hardin Simmons University in 1966. In 1962 he married Bonnie Duncan McKay in Post, Texas. He taught school and coached in Texas from 1966 until 1975 when he and his family relocated to Clayton, New Mexico where he taught school and coached football and track until he retired after serving for forty-one years as an educator and coach. He coached four NM state championship boys’ track teams and numerous winning seasons in football. He was awarded the Sports Achievement Award in 1987 and 1989 for football playoffs in the Golden Spread by the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce Sport Committee and Track Coach of the Year in 1989 by the Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame. He was an enthusiastic coach and a devoted teacher who enjoyed interaction with young people. Rick was a member of the Clayton Church of Christ who cared deeply for his church family and students. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

WIFE: Bonnie McKay of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 SON: Todd McKay and his wife Samantha McKay of Lubbock, Texas.

1 DAUGHTER: Paige McKay of Dallas, Texas.

4 GRANDCHILDREN: Chad Lambeth and his wife Christal, Hunter McKay, Colton Lambeth, and Hannah McKay.

Chester Paul Gallagher
(June 19, 1921 - November 26, 2012)

Chester Paul Gallagher, age 91, died Monday, November 26, 2012 in Folsom, New Mexico.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Hass Funeral Home in Clayton, New Mexico with Eric Armstrong, pastor of the Des Moines Baptist Church, officiating. Private family burial followed on the Gallagher Ranch near Bueyeros. Services are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Chester Paul Gallagher was born on June 19, 1921 in Taylor Springs, New Mexico to John Gallagher and Edith (Knight) Gallagher. A lifelong resident of the Bueyeros areas, Chester was raised on the family ranch on Ute Creek southeast of Gladstone, New Mexico. He attended DeHaven Country School, a one room school near his parents's home. He continued his education at Springer High School where he graduated in 1940. After graduation Chester returned to the family ranch where he continued operating it throughout his life. His dedication to the land and his livestock was evident to everyone who knew him. Her served the Ute Creek Soil and Water Conservation District for 35 years as a member and as the chairman of the board of directors. The challenge of managing a cattle ranch was one that Chester enjoyed. He gave careful consideration to his management techniques and had a reason for every decision that he made. He knew every head of livestock on his place and usually knew where they could be found at any particular time of day. He loved his ranch, it was his home and his way of life. Anyone who took the time to travel down the miles of dirt road to visit Chester in the evening would be sure to find him chopping wood for his cook stove or sitting on his door step watching his cattle drink from the windmill in his front yard. He always had a jar full of homemade oatmeal cookies to share and would visit with you until the sun went down, which at Chester's house, was bed time since he lived without either electricity or indoor plumbing. Chester was also very interested in the history of New Mexico and surrounding areas. He loved to hunt for arrowheads and other historical artifacts along the Ute Creek Canyon. Chester was preceded in death by his mother Edith Gallagher on January 7, 1957, by his father John Gallagher on December 12, 1952 and by a brother; James Gallagher on October 5, 2001.

SURVIVORS:

Numerous Cousins, including; Penny Trainham and her husband Bruce of Folsom, New Mexico, Ray Hartley and his wife Doris of Roy, New Mexico and Konnie Rush and her husband Dale of Aledo, Texas.

MEMORIALS: The family suggests that memorials be made to the Sacred Heart Church of Bueyeros, P. O. Box 37, Roy, New Mexico 87743

Abigayle Lynn Getman
(November 21, 2012 - November 21, 2012)

Abigayle Lynn Getman died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Clayton Gospel Church with Pastor Mike Phipps officiating. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Abigayle was the daughter of James and Tiffany Getman of Clayton, New Mexico.

In addition to her parents, Abigayle is survived by one sister; Alyssa Getman and one brother; Kody Getman both of Clayton, Maternal Grandparents; Carl and Sandy Sweeney of Clayton, Paternal Grandmother; Kimberly Adams of Borger, Texas, Paternal Grandfather; James Getman of Clayton, Paternal Great-Grandparents; Harlan and Corinne Getman of Dumas, Texas and Paul and Gracie Ross of Borger, Texas, Maternal Great-Grandmother; Wanda Sweeney of Mesquite, Texas and by her aunts and uncles; Crystal and Chad Beckman of Clayton and Michelle and Garrett Johnson of Leander, Texas and three cousins; Autumn Cheairs, Jace Johnson and Garrett Johnson.

Clyde Toney
(February 5, 1924 - November 5, 2012)

Clyde Toney, age 88, died Monday, November 5, 2012 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Clyde Farrel Toney was born on February 5, 1924 in Clayton, New Mexico to Green Columbus Wallace Toney and Blanche Louise (Perry) Toney. He resided all but two years of his life in the Clayton, New Mexico area. Clyde graduated from Clayton High School in 1944 and served two years in the U. S. Army as a Staff Sergeant where he was part of the Military Police Force in the Philippines. Upon his return home Clyde worked for the U. S. Postal Service as a carrier until arthritis forced him into early retirement. He finished his labor career in the farming and feedlot industry. Clyde married Cleda Faye Dow on August 5, 1951 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton and she preceded him in death on January 22, 1995. Clyde was a member of the Clayton Church Of Christ. In addition to his parents and wife, Clyde was preceded in death by a daughter; Joyce Arrington on August 20, 2010 and by two brothers; Don Toney in 2006 and Jim Toney in 1994.

3 DAUGHTERS: Carol Headding and her husband Gary of Amarillo, Texas, Gayle Bulman and her husband Mark of Pueblo, Colorado and Shirley Wiseman and her husband Lonnie of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 SON: Clifford Toney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

1 SON-IN-LAW: Jim Arrington of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 BROTHER: Ray Toney and his wife Peggy of Levelland, Texas.

17 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren

And numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Viola Garcia
(April 27, 1943 - October 23, 2012)

Mary Viola Garcia, age 69, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at her home in Clayton.

Rosary was recited at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 25 by Deacon P. Louis Montoya and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 26, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Glenn Jones, Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Mary Viola Garcia was born on April 27, 1943 in Clayton, New Mexico to Juan B. Gallegos and Cleofas Sanchez. A lifelong resident of Clayton, New Mexico, she started working at the courthouse when she was fourteen years old and attended Business School in Colorado after she graduated from Clayton High School in 1961. Viola worked for Clayton Title Service and later for C. U. Title Service for many years. She married Johnny Garcia on September 10, 1984 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Viola was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton and she was a care giver to many of her family members. Viola was preceded in death by her parents and by numerous aunts and uncles.

HUSBAND: Johnny Garcia of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 DAUGHTER: Margaret Elizabeth Garcia of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 BROTHER: Juan B. Gallegos of Clayton, New Mexico.

And numerous cousins.

Lawrence Dominguez
(March 10, 1932 - October 21, 2012)

Lawrence Dominguez, age 80, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at his home in Clayton.

Cremation has taken place and the family held a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Church of Christ Fellowship Hall at the corner of Eighth and Oak in Clayton.

Lawrence A. Dominguez was born on March 10, 1932 in Clayton, New Mexico to Adon Dominguez and Lenore (Marinda) Dominguez. A lifelong resident of Clayton, New Mexico, Lawrence graduated from Clayton High School in 1951 and joined the New Mexico National Guard in 1952. Lawrence owned and operated C and L Bakery in Clayton for many years and later worked as a cook at the Nu Way Café and the Rabbit Ear Café for many years. Lawrence always had a great sense of humor and he could make anybody smile and he was famous for his twisties and thumbprints. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and by a son, Steven Dominguez on September 11, 2004.

SURVIVORS:

3 DAUGHTERS: Rosalie Lomeli and her husband Ray of Modesta, California, Martha Lucero of Dalhart, Texas and Lisa Massey and her husband Craig of Clayton, New Mexico.

4 SONS: Larry Dominguez of Clayton, New Mexico, Dennis Dominguez and his wife Wendy of Greely, Colorado, Franklin Dominguez and his wife Dolores of Modesta, California and Tommy Shawn and his wife Diana of Dalhart, Texas.

1 SISTER: Beatrice Montoya of Clayton, New Mexico.

22 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends that he considered family.

Shirley Oldfield
(February 22, 1935 - June 13, 2012)

Shirley Oldfield, age 77, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton with Rev. Jay Jones, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Shirley Oldfield was born on February 22, 1935 in Boise City, Oklahoma to John Arnold Neuenschwander and Irene Mae (Hillegas) Neuenschwander. A lifelong resident of Union County, Shirley married Billy Max Oldfield on August 10, 1952 in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1997. Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clayton.

3 DAUGHTERS: Sharon Hudson and her husband Malcolm of St. Louis, Missouri, Cheryl Ketchie and her husband Robert of Houston, Texas and Sandra Wilkes of San Antonio, Texas.

2 GRANDCHILDREN: Kandice Wilkes and Meghan Wilkes both of San Antonio, Texas.

Nona Gaye Boyd
(November 9, 1919 - June 12, 2012)

Nona Gaye Boyd, age 92, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Assembly of God Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Keenan Roberts and Larry Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors, Clayton, New Mexico.

Nona Gaye Boyd was born on November 9, 1919 in Magdalena, New Mexico to Valentine Dee Leaevitt and Ada Estelle (Estes) Leavitt. She married Loyd A. Boyd on December 25, 1939 in Portales, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2009. Mrs. Boyd taught 4th grade in Clayton, New Mexico for many years and was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church in Clayton. In addition to her husband and parents, Nona Gaye was preceded in death by a sister; Nita Mae Porter of Clovis, New Mexico and Jay Leavitt of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 SONS: H. C. Boyd and his wife Sarah of Thornton, Colorado and Larry Boyd and his wife Sharlott of Lubbock, Texas.

1 SISTER: Ada Fay Bossier of Flagstaff, Arizona.

6 GRANDCHILDREN: Lucrecia Boyd of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Shayla Boyd of Lubbock, Texas, Jody Boyd and his wife Jennifer of Keller, Texas, Jason Boyd and his wife Becki of Rupert, Idaho, Justin Boyd and David Boyd and his wife Jheri all of Dallas, Texas.

9 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Carter Boyd, Dylan Boyd, Lindsey Boyd, Cooper Boyd, Savanna Boyd, Josie Lynn Boyd, Harper Emma Boyd, Lorilei Boyd and Alaysha Jones.

William "Bill" David Bullard

Born: October 07, 1931
Died: September 21, 2011

William David “Bill” Bullard, age 79, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011, in Amarillo, Texas.

Memorial Services were held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 25, 2011 in the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Pastor Randall Floyd, Pastor of the Clayton Assembly of God Church and Pastor Mark Honeycutt, pastor of the Clayton Church of God, officiating. He was laid to rest at the Grenville Cemetery following the services at sunset to celebrate his life. Services were under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

William David "Bill" Bullard was born on October 7, 1931 in Thomas, New Mexico in a two room dug-out to Ralph Osbourn Bullard and Clara May Hight. He attended school in Thomas, Clapham, and graduated from Clayton High School in 1949. He worked for the state highway department after graduation for several years. He then worked at the filling station as an attendant for several years where he met Connie Sue Weese. They were united in marriage at the Old Ft. Jordan on July 6, 1964. They moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico for three years, upon returning to Clayton he took over his fathers mail route to Kenton, Oklahoma which he continued to drive for 44 years. He proudly lived his life faithfully serving the Lord. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He is proceeded in death by his parents, two sisters Polly Bullard and Edith Bechtel, two brothers Junior Bullard and Richard Bullard, and one granddaughter Aimee Wolffarth Humphreys.

2 BROTHERS: Tiny Bullard and his wife Caroline of Clayton, New Mexico and Bob Bullard and his wife Roberta of Capitan, New Mexico.

2 DAUGHTERS: Sharon Honeycutt and her husband Mark of Clayton, New Mexico and Janet Wolffarth and her husband Randy of Carlsbad, New Mexico.

2 SONS: David Bullard and his friend Bryon Smith of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Russell Bullard and his wife Bonnie of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Gilbert Blan

Born: April 17, 1945
Died: September 30, 2014

Gilbert Blan, age 69, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in Clayton, New Mexico.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s witnesses in Clayton, New Mexico.

Gilbert Blan was born on April 17, 1945 in Clayton, New Mexico to Jose M. Blan and Estella Blan. A lifelong resident of Clayton, Gilbert graduated from Clayton High School and worked most of his life delivering propane for Texline Oil and Gas Company. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Clayton. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents; Jose and Estella Blan and by 2 brothers; Joby Blan and Marcelino Blan.

4 SISTERS: Helen Cruz of Amarillo, Texas, Rozella Larranaga and her husband Severo of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Francis Blan and Vaida Blan both of Clayton, New Mexico.

5 NIECES: Lorraine, Amy, Dorothy, Sara & Lisa.

6 NEPHEWS: Steve, Ernie, Dave, Johnny, Andy & Michael.

John Dillon

Born: September 05, 1943
Died: October 14, 2014

John Dillon, age 71, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

John Dillon was born on September 5, 1943 in Lamar, Colorado to Wally Dillon and Ruth (Stein) Dillon. He moved to Clayton with his mother in 1961 to open the bowling alley in Clayton. While living in Clayton, John met Janet (Wright) Dillon and together they had three children. John enjoyed working on old cars and stock cars when he was younger. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Donna Lee Thomas.

2 DAUGHTERS: Teri Dillon of Raleigh, North Carolina and Tina Parkhill and her husband Lance of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

1 SON: Brett Dillon and his wife Jennifer of Clayton, New Mexico.

4 GRANDCHILDREN: Devon Dillon and Emily Dillon both of Clayton, New Mexico and Dillon Parkhill and Julia Parkhill both of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
