Tracy Leigh Ford, 41, a resident of Los Lunas, NM died Monday, January 21, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Garry Lee Ford of Los Lunas; parents, Richard and Phyllis Davidson of Clovis, NM; daughter, Amber Jean Norton of Vero Beach, FL; stepsons, Garry Ford, Jr., and wife, Julie, Allan Ford and John Ford, all of San Antonio, TX; grandfather, James Kiker of Portales, NM; uncle, Kenneth Kiker and wife, Carol of Albuquerque; aunt, Carol Brieden and husband, Keith of Tucson, AZ; and numerous cousins. Tracy was preceded in death by her son, Ryan Patrick Kennedy; and grandmother, Doris Kiker. Tracy worked at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX as a contracting officer before transferring to Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque. At Kirtland Air Force Base she worked for Det 12 Space and Missile Command as a contract specialist. She truly enjoyed her job. Tracy was interested in genealogy, arts and crafts, and enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband. She will be truly missed by her loving family and friends. Services will be held Friday, 9:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Tim Neustifter officiating. Graveside Services will follow at 3:30 p.m., at Portales Cemetery, in Portales, NM. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, for the treatment of breast cancer, 5800 Lomas NE, 87110. Thomas A. Francis was carried to his heavenly father on angel's wings on Wednesday, January 23, 2002.
Survivors are his fiancee, Cheryl Darden; and son, Eric; brothers and sisters, Michael, Amy, Patti, Dickie, Ray, Marsha, John, Rose, JJ, and Robin; mother, Dorothea Francis; father, Ray Freeman and his wife, Millie.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Los Altos Nazarene Church, 215 Erbbe, NE., Albuquerque, NM.
Arrangements are being handled by Direct Cremation and Burial Services, Albuquerque, NM.

Gilbert F. Gallegos, 87, passed away surrounded by all his loved ones on Monday, January 21, 2002. Mr. Gallegos, who was known for gentleness and kindness, was born in Anton Chico, New Mexico on April 26, 1914. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Adina Gallegos; his brothers, Alejandro Gallegos, Julian Gallegos, Luis Gallegos; and his sister, Elena Rael. Also preceding Mr. Gallegos in death was his son, Jimmy P. Gallegos; and two grandchildren. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Gilbert M. Gallegos and wife, Patty, Hope Chavez and husband, J.D., Danny J. Gallegos and wife, Connie, and Annabell Gallegos and Jack Weber, all of Albuquerque. He was greatly loved by his grandchildren, Faith Sanchez and Richie Esquibel, Daniel Gallegos Jr., Gabrielle Gallegos, Stephanie Duneman and husband, Donnie, Dominic Gallegos, and Bobbi Cisneros and husband, Richard. Mr. Gallegos had four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Aggie Gallegos and husband, Jose Sandoval; one brother, Jose Carlos Rael of Tucson, Arizona; brother-in-law, Seferino Rael; and sister-in-law, Eloisa Gallegos of Colorado. Gilbert F. Gallegos was very proud of his military service. He was in World War II and fought with the Big Red One in seven campaigns. Congresswoman Heather Wilson honored Gilbert last May with a special medal commemorating his service in the Normandy Invasion on Omaha Beach. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal by General Omar Bradley and several spearhead medals for leading battles. Mr. Gallegos was a farmer and a horseman in his youth and later retired after driving a school bus in Anton Chico for the Santa Rosa Consolidated School System. In 1968, the Gallegos family moved to Albuquerque where Gilbert lived until his death. He was a devout Catholic and member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Parish. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, January 24, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW, with Father Lawrence Gallegos (nephew) Celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Daniel Gallegos, Dominic Gallegos, Seferino Rael, Jr., Barney Rael, Steve Gallegos and George Gallegos. Tony Griego, 62, died Saturday, January 19, 2002. Prayer Vigil and Mass will be in St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, NM.
Prayer Vigil with Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2002. Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2002.
Burial will be in the Mountainair Cemetery.
Tony was born July 27, 1939 in Punta De Agua, NM to Fabian and Eufelia Griego.
He was in law enforcement for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen; and his son, Anthony.
Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn Griego, Loretta Burton and Barbara Alvarado; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.

Charles Gurule. Former television newsman and businessman, Charles Gurule passed away Monday, January 21, 2002 after a courageous struggle with a prolonged illness. He leaves behind a loving wife, Theresa; and son, James. He is also survived by sister, Erna Cotinola and husband, Gil; brother, Ed Gurule; sister, Fran Gurule; and sister, Annette Torres and husband, Matt. He also leaves behind an extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Charlotte Gurule. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at The Church of the Risen Savior. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of the Risen Savior followed by internment at Mt Calvary. New Mexico Mortuary Services is handling the arrangements.

Mr. Paul Gutierrez, a 23 year resident of Albuquerque, died on Monday at the age of 54. Paul is preceded in death by his mother, D. Martha Gutierrez; and his brother, Adolfo Gutierrez. He is survived by his wife, Carmen; his father, Moises; his sons, Paul Jr. and wife, Cynthia, Richard and wife, Bianca; his daughter, Deanna; his brothers, Steve and wife, Candy, Benny, Joseph, Nathen, Epi Atencio, and wife, Hilda; his sisters, Susie Sanchez, Gloria Tafoya and husband, Melvin, Laverne Saavedra and husband, Gil; six grandchildren, Anthony, Christina, Angel, Pauline, Serena, and Janessa. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, January 24, 2002 at 7 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Chapel. The following night a Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Cuba Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Gutierrez Jr., Richard Gutierrez, Anthony Gutierrez, Ray Carabajal, Norman Maestas, Timothy Tafoya, Max Sanchez Jr., Lawrence Carbajal, and Mike Velasquez. Arrangements by Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

Daniel Lee Hernandez, 44, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, January 19, 2002 of heart failure.
He is survived by his sons, Calvin and Russell Hernandez; mother, Amy; brothers, Dave Hernandez, Steven Hernandez, and Stan Benson; and sister, Julie Wesselman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol and father, Robert L. Hernandez.
Services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
Cremation will take place and Dan will be at rest with Carol at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.

Edna Louise Hunt, age 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1954 died Thursday January 17, 2002. She was born Edna Louise Morton July 30, 1918 in Waycross Georgia. Having graduated as Valedictorian from her College in 1938, she had two Bachelors degrees in the Medical & Sciences field. While serving in the US Navy during World War two as a Nurse, she was stationed at Navy Hospitals in New Orleans and Mare Island Naval Hospital in San Francisco Harbor, as well as the commissioned psychiatric convalescence hospital in Glenwood Springs Colorado. It was in 1950 in San Francisco that she met and married my Father, SMSGT Aubrey Byron Hunt, who was stationed at the Presidio Army Air Corp base. Edna Hunt traveled Europe with her husband until he was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base here in Albuquerque. Edna Hunt went back into the nursing field at BCMC in 1969, and in 1971 went to work at the VA Hospital at KAFB where she retired in 1989. My Mother's favorite piano piece was by Narciso Serradell, called La Golondrina, which she attempted to teach me how to play. She was a loving woman who gave freely of her heart in life to those near to her. She was Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1957 and remained an active member till her death. She spent many hours in spirited discussion of Bible matters with Doctors, Nurses and the Chaplain staff where she worked. Edna Hunt is survived by her son, James Kelly Hunt of Rio Rancho NM; grandchildren, Jennifer Elizabeth Hunt of Van Nuys, Calif., Byron Hunt of San Diego, Calif., and Sarah Aubrey Hunt of Albuquerque NM. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial will take place Saturday 4:00 p.m., January 26, 2002 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 8904 Menaul N.E. in Albuquerque NM, Nathaniel Grant officiating.

Raymond Joseph Kaehr, 84, a resident and respected businessman in Albuquerque since 1954, died peacefully Sunday, January 20, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Donis Kaehr of Albuquerque; sister, Loretta LaFountain; brother, Joe Kaehr, both of Indiana; sons, Mickey Kaehr and his wife, Gail of Lewisville, TX, Jim Kaehr and his wife, Terri, Ron Kaehr and his wife, Dolores of Albuquerque; daughter, Pam Edens and her husband, Sterling of Tempe, AZ; grandchildren, Shelly Kaehr and Mark Kaehr of Lewisville, TX, Michelle Stevens and her husband, Shawn of Tempe, AZ, Sterling Edens and his wife, Brynlee of Tempe, AZ, Robert Kaehr, Tammi Buehler and her husband, Sean, Kimberly MacMillan and her husband, Jim, Tosha Young and her husband, Greg, Bryan Kaehr and his wife, Melissa, all of Albuquerque and William Kaehr of Homer, AK; great-grandchildren, Evan Kaehr, Tyler and Jordan Edens of Tempe, AZ; stepdaughters, Dona Clapp and her husband, Carl of Barnsdall, OK, Delores Albert and her husband, Paul, Debra Young and her husband, Bob, all of Albuquerque; step-grandchildren, Matthew Young of Albuquerque, Michael Doran of Kansas City, KS and Sean Doran of Irving, TX. Ray was preceded in death by Opal, the mother of his five children in 1967; and his daughter, Vicky in 1991. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on February 26, 1917 to Joseph and Ethel Kaehr. He was the eldest of two sisters, Viola and Loretta and his brother, Joe. As a young man, he worked with the CCA building grain silos near Decatur, IN where his family had moved after the stock market crash of 1929. In the late 1930s he moved to Ft. Wayne, IN where he delivered milk door to door for a local dairy. After enrolling in night accounting courses at the University of Indiana in Ft. Wayne, IN, he worked as a bookkeeper in an accounting department. In 1941 he met and married Opal Arrants. He attended Officers Candidate School where he graduated first in his class. The army then sent him to Fort Bragg, NC and finally to Fort Sill, OK where he served as a field artillery and demolitions instructor. He was sent to the Philippines to be part of the 'mopping up' operations against the scattered Japanese resistance that remained. He was with the first U.S. troops to arrive at Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the end of the war. In 1946 he founded Imperial Plating & Metal Finishing in Ashley, IN. He returned to the University of Indiana to study the subject of electroplating. A year later he moved his business to Waterloo, IN where he was a respected community leader, a member of the Lions Club and served a term as the mayor. In 1953, he moved his business to Albuquerque where it has continued to flourish as Kaehr Plating. He was the first to successfully electroplate aluminum and he pioneered work in plating of circuit boards. In 1969 he married Donis Shannon. They have been married for 32 years. He is a member of the Ballut Abyad Shrine, Albuquerque Lodge #60 A.F. & A.M., and the Order of the Elks in Albuquerque. Services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family would like to thank the loving and compassionate staffs at St. Joseph Hospital North and Anna Kaseman, Vista Care Hospice. Judy Lambie, 56, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on January 19, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Gary Lambie of the family home; children, Chris Lambie and wife, Stephanie, Jennifer Eckenroth and husband, Phil and Joy Lambie all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Alyssa, Caleb, Kaitlyn, Gabriel, Emaleeann and one girl due in April; brothers, David Johnson of Michigan and Jerry Johnson of Canada. Judy was a kindergarten teacher at Alameda Elementary where kids were a big part of Judy's life but most important was her family. Judy was involved with the Evangel Christian Center. She was also the fundraiser for the NMAEYC. Service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2002, at Evangel Christian Center, 4501 Montgomery NE at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Raymond Franks officiating. In lieu of cut flowers, plants can be given or donations can be made to The Judy Lambie Family Scholarship Fund to help put her children and grandchildren through college. Stanley Marcus.
The Board of Directors and staff of the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum are deeply saddened by the passing of Stanley Marcus, one of the Museum's first board members.
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to his wife, Linda, who is currently a member of our board, and to his family.
Stanley's generous support, leadership, enthusiasm, friendship and keen artistic judgment were instrumental in the Museum's inception and success.
We shall miss him greatly.

Betty Miller
October 4, 1918 - January 20, 2002
Born in Ohio in 1918, Betty moved to San Francisco at an early age. There she met Judson, her husband, at UC Berkley. Together they lived and traveled throughout the world as Judson flew and worked for the Air Force. Perhaps more than anything, Betty loved to entertain and to share her home with friends. She was a fine hostess. One of the highlights of their lives was their service in the diplomatic corps in Afghanistan, where Judson worked in the U.S. Embassy. Betty excelled at many interests such as bridge, sewing, business and the study of the Southwest. She took classes at UNM relating to New Mexico and participated in the Albuquerque Old Glass Club, Pan American Round Table Number One of Albuquerque, New Mexico Historical Society, and bridge clubs. Betty and Judson made a wonderful adventure of extensively remodeling an historic Albuquerque adobe. Betty loved her home. It was there that she passed away Sunday, January 20, 2002. Services will be held Friday, January 25, 2002, at 3:00 p.m., at the Committal Shelter at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Jo Evans Miller, 63, a resident of Tijeras for 10 years, died Tuesday, December 25, 2001. She is survived by her son, William Miller and wife, Crystal of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Laura Miller of Ridgecrest, CA, Diane Miller of Riverside, CA, and Bethany Miller of Las Vegas, NV; aunts, Margaret Jones and husband, Wayne of Arlington, TX, and Ruth Opperman of Wichita, KS. She is also survived by a number of show beagles. Ms. Miller was actively involved with Duke City Bridge Club. She was a Silver Life Master of duplicate bridge. Ms. Miller owned Yrissari Beagles where she was involved in breeding and showing beagles. She was a computer scientist and a retired Branch Head at Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, CA. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2002, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Ennichement will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.

Richard "Ricardo" Montoya, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1963, died at home, Saturday, January 19, 2002.
Rosary and Celebration of Life will be recited Friday, January 25, 2002, 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee.
Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 26, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Luis Jaramillo, Celebrant.

Mr. Steve Mora of Albuquerque died Wednesday morning at the age of 45. Mr. Mora is survived by his wife, Yvonne; his parents, Bessie and Salome; his two daughters; Melissa, Denise; his brother, Freddy; his sisters, Ferminia, Cathy Gonzales and husband, Joe; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services for Mr. Mora will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Friday, January 25, 2002 where a Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. A Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Pallbearers are Joe Gonzales Jr., Joe Gonzales, Jerry Jaramillo, Albert Sena, and Luis Lira. Dilema (Dee) Mae Perkins passed away on January 19, 2002 at the age of 74 at her home from a lengthy illness. She was born March 12, 1927 in Willisville, IL to the late Vallee and Amy Vancil. Dee was preceded in death by her first husband, George Milligan of 27 years in 1972; and her second husband, Leroy E. Perkins of 18 years in 1992. Dee is survived by two sons, Dennis Milligan and wife, Patricia of Albuquerque and Dean Milligan and wife Cheryl of Santa Fe; a stepson, Leroy (Perky) Perkins, Jr. and wife Gail of Shasta Lake, CA; three grandchildren, Gary, Patrick and Jennifer; two sisters, Virginia Mesek and husband Fred of Escondido, CA and Dixie Lively and husband, Terry of Granite City, IL; a brother, Max Vancil and wife Helen of Ripon, WI; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Perkins worked in Labor and Delivery at Presbyterian Hospital for several years. She was in the first graduating class of Presbyterian Hospitals LPN School of Nursing in August 1961. Known as 'Millie' to her patients, she worked for Dr. Jack Dettweiler as his office nurse until her retirement in 1975. She was an avid golfer at the Albuquerque Country Club and a member of the Sun County Amateur Golf Association. Dee was a member of the Ladies Elks Lodge #461. Dee was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed playing bridge. Dee was a person who enjoyed life to the fullest and she had many friends who will surely miss her jovial spirit. Services will be held, Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Gary Milligan and Patrick Milligan. Honorary pallbearer will be Jennifer Milligan. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association, 8100 Mountain Road NE, Suite 102, 87110, the First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW, 87102 or to Delta Hospice, 3600 Menaul NE, 87110. Haruko Piorkowski was born in Okinawa December 29, 1942 and passed away January 22, 2002 in Albuquerque.
Services and viewing will be held at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano NW. (4th and Montano NW.) on Saturday, January 26, 2002.
Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Cremation will follow.

Oblester Acacio Romero, 65 a resident of Abuquerque, passed away on January 22, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Mae Gallegos Romero; nine children, Andrew Romero and wife, Lucy, Luella DeLara and husband, Manuel, Ernestine Treadwell and husband, Mark, Ezequiel Romero and wife, Debby and Matthew, Ross, Elizabeth, David and Jeff Romero; 17 grandchildren, Vanessa, Jessica, Nathan, Stephanie, Lori Ann, Amanda, Isaac, Zachary and Gabriel Romero, Roxanne and Rachael Pixley, Falicia DeLara, Lucas and Sean Sullivan, Katherine, Brittany and Jocelyn Treadwell; sisters, Carmen Baca and Maria Palma; brothers, Margarito, Carlos, Alfredo and Jose Romero; he is also survived by his many nephews, nieces and Godchildren. Oblester was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Camila Romero; two sisters, Marcella and Grace Baca and one brother, Bennie Romero. Oblester was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force and worked as an RN and retired from the VA Hospital. He graduated from the University of Albuquerque with a nursing degree. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 24, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW. Burial to follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be his sons, Matthew, Andrew, Ross, Ezequiel, David and Jeff Romero.
