Robert "Bob" Dahl, 76, a resident of Los Lunas, died Friday, January 19, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Billie Dahl of Los Lunas; son, John Robert Dahland wife, Reena of St. Cloud, MN; daughter, Jeannie Ley of Minneapolis, MN; seven grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Linda Alexander and husband, Herman of Los Lunas, Mary Susan Messa and husband, Peter of Los Gatos, CA and Kathleen Mahoney and husband, Michael of Perth, W. Australia; nine step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Dahl was preceded in death by two step-brothers; and one sister. He was a pilot and flight instructor in the Army Air Corps during WWII, and was a retired firefighter with the Minneapolis, MN Fire Departement. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, 4:00 p.m., at Community Bible Church, 1467 N. Highway 314, with Elder Tom Nagey and Elder Greg Jones officiating. Interment of cremains will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Bible Church, 1467 N. Highway 314, Los Lunas, NM 87031. Megan Margot Ellis, age 45, passed away in Farmington, NM January 13, 2001. No local services are planned. Cremation arrangements by Sunrise Society of NM. 891-8200.

Ralph E. Elrod, 71, of Amarillo, died suddenly Thursday, Jan 11, 2001 in Temple Texas. He married Fay Rigdon in 1950 at Amarillo, Texas. Mr Elrod was a retired wholesale hardware salesman, working most of his career with Amarillo Hardware. Mr. Elrod moved his family to Albuquerque in 1965, he and his wife moved back to Texas in 1976. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mike Elrod of Las Cruces, N.M., and Kent Elrod of Albuquerque; two sisters, Ruby Holzapfel of San Antonio, Texas and Eudora Hill of Delta, LA; and two grandchildren, Amy and Aaron. He will be remembered by loved ones for his devotion to and love for his wife and children. Everyone that knew him admired his integrity and sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.

Sharon Kay Emery, 51, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Thursday, January 18, 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Silva and husband, Edward of Moriarty, NM; four granddaughters; three grandsons; and mother, Helen Emery of Albuquerque. Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Arrowood; and father, Charles Emery. Cremation has taken place and private services will take place at a later date. Genevieve Hall Fisher, 68, passed away on January 15, 2001, in the family home. She was born July 21, 1932 in Albuquerque to Robert and Laurel Hall. Gen led a very full and eventful life. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, William B. fisher; her brother, James D. Hall; her five children, Julia Harmon and husband, Jon of Manhattan Beach, CA, Glenn Smith and wife, Lorraine of Bernalillo, Dirk Smith of Manchester, CT, Genia Muniz of Albuquerque, and Kathy Bisson and husband, Jim of Littleton, CO; and also twelve grandchildren, Gen was active in the First Presbyterian Church, and at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church as Children's Choir Director, Chancel Choir member and Women's Association, and was President of Martineztown House of Neighborly Service Auxiliary Board, as well as other volunteer positions too numerous to mention. Services were held at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church, 1801 Montano Road, NW, on Saturday, January 20, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Shepherd of the Valley Capital Building Fund. Ruby French, 90, a resident of Albuquerque for 52 years, died Friday, January 19, 2001. She is survived by two sons, James Leslie French of Lithia Springs, GA, and Jerry French and wife, Ann of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jeanne Gonzales and husband, Greg of Albuquerque, Ron Foster and wife, Donna of Meridian, ID, Janet Rivera and husband, Gil of Albuquerque, Janice Prager and husband, Doug, of Germany, Chris French of Rio Rancho, Eileen McIlwain of Tampa, Fl; great-grandchildren, Stephen and Robbie Rivera, Jenny, Joshua and Daniel Prager, Kevin, Christopher and Cameron Foster, Sara and Clayton Gonzales and Jenny and Bobby McIlwain; sisters, Helen Wilson of North Platte, NE, Peggy Myers and husband, Jim of Overland Park, KS, Anna Grace Cox of Kansas and Mary Greene of Shawnee Mission, KS; brother, Russell Case and wife, Lois of Shawnee, KS; and sister-in-law, Ruby Case of Moberly, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jim C. French; parents, Les and Carrie Case of Sedalia, MO; and brother, Wilbur Case of Moberly, MO. She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor J. Curtis Goldman officiating. James Gurule, 53, went home to our Lord on January 17, 2001. James is survived by his mother, Mary Gurule; son, James Gurule Jr. and wife, Sarah; brother, Hermeno "Melle" Gurule Jr.; three sisters, Flora Mora and husband, Tommy, Lupe Torrez, and Rosanne Fraire. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, James and Julianna. James will be deeply missed by his loving family. Visitation will be held at the Garcia Chapel on 8th Street from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. this evening, with a Recitation of the Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Final viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Monday at Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Eufelia Hartt,89, passed away in
Albuquerque January 19, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dumas Hartt, sister, Falconerez Rogers, brothers, Ramon Garcia and David Rodarte. Eufelia is survived by her niece, Sally Huddleston and many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved and will miss her. She lived many years of her life in Grants, NM., and had many friends there. Services will
be held at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Alameda, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2001. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2001, with burial following at Grants Memorial Park Cemetery, Grants, NM. Rev. Gilbert Klineline, 86, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died locally on Saturday, January 19, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maxine Klineline of the family home; son, Fred Klineline and wife, Fren of Lake Elsinore, CA; daughter, Faye Ingle and husband, Marc of Hesperia, CA; two granddaughters; two grandsons; and one great-grandson. Rev. Klineline was born December 2, 1914 in Westport, KY. He and his family moved to Albuquerque in 1924. He worked as a bookkeeper for Maisel's Indian Trading Post prior to World War II. After his service in WW II in the South Pacific, he graduated with highest honors from Pasadena College in Pasadena, CA. For the next 11 years, he and his wife served as missionaries to the Indians in Arizona and New Mexico. For the next 15 years, he pastored the Albuquerque Nazarene Indian Church and taught at the Nazarene Bible College until he retired in 1976. Since his retirement, he has been an active member of Sandia Church of the Nazarene, serving as a teacher, choir member, and other ministries. Services will be held Tuesday, January, 23, 2001, 2:00 p.m., at the Sandia Church Of The Nazarene, 2801 Louisiana Blvd. NE, with Reverend Allen Schlegel officiating, with the assistance of Reverend Mark Bane and Reverend Julian Gunn. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Stephen Kolozsy, age 90, and a resident of Albuquerque for 38 years, died at Valle Norte Nursing Home Tuesday, January 16, 2001, where he had been lovingly cared for the last eight years of his life. He was diagnosed with Alzheimers. Up to the end, he still had his happiness in the little caring things people said and did for him. He might not have recognized you, but he still had a smile for everyone. During 1964 - 1976, he and his wife, Catherine Kolozsy started Westgate Community Church for the youth in the area. He was a very loving and caring father, and person. He will be missed greatly. He is survived by his four sons, Joseph, Derrell, Kevin and Keith Kolozsy; and 14 grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Felix L. Lucero, 85, beloved father, grandfather, and brother was called home to the Lord, January 18, 2001. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara; and daughter, Gloria Lucero. He is survived by his loving children, Raymond Lucero and wife, Dorothy, Patsy Perez and husband, Eddie of Bloomfield, N.M.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Erlinda Anaya; and brother, Avelino Lucero. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be today from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, located on the corner of 8th and Stover. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose de Duranes Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at San Jose de Duranes Catholic Church, with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Joe M. Lucero, 78,beloved father and grandfather was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, Thursday, January 18, 2001. Mr. Lucero was born October 24, 1922 in Bernalillo, NM to the late Jose and Rosita Lucero; he was parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church; a proud veteran of the United States Army, who served his country during World War II; and was a member of the American Legion Post #69. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Lucero; two sons, Andy Lucero and Jesse Lucero; and son-in-law, Joe Candelaria. He is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla Lucero of the family home; his daughters, Nancy Candelaria, Connie Baca and husband, Carlos, Donna Montoya and husband, John, Mary Ann Montano and husband, Robert, Mona Lee Lovato and husband, Albert, and Evelyn Montano; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be this evening from 6:00 p.m. till time of the Rosary, which will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, in Bernalillo. Final viewing will be Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Casket bearers will be, Eric Montoya, Raul Montoya, Larry Baca, Brian Baca, Bryan Montano and Ronnie Hand. Honorary bearers will be, Steven Pino, Allen Montano, and Jacob Baca. Magda Monks, 61, a resident of New Mexico since 1963, died Thursday, January 18, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Tom Monks of Cuba, NM; daughter, Rena Distasio of Tijeras; son, Joey Distasio; one granddaughter, Maya Distasio, both of Rio Rancho; one brother, Heinz Maus; and one sister, Gertrude Born, both of Germany. Mrs. Monks taught at Valley High School in the Side-By-Side Program, before retiring in 1995. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. Mr. Alejandro C. Montoya, 69, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on January 18, 2001. Mr. Montoya is survived by two daughters, Debra Montoya and Cynthia Castanuela; three sons, Alejandro R. Montoya and wife, Pamela, Antonio R. Montoya and Kenneth R. Montoya; two sisters, Bertha Madrid and husband, Alfred and Rufina Avena; two brothers, Ben Montoya and wife, Rita and Richard Montoya and wife, Yvonne; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Montoya was preceded in death by his wife, Rachael Montoya. Mr. Montoya was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Airforce, serving during the Korean Conflict, an active member of the V.F.W. post 6216, the American Legion and the Zapata Club. Mr. Montoya loved hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr., SW from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. in the Santuario de San Martin Church, 8301 Camino San Martin SW, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. A committal service will be Monday at 12:00 noon in the Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors. William Morris, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Friday, January 19, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Rose Ann Morris, whom he married August 17, 1932 in Miami, OK; five nephews, and seven nieces. He was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. Before moving to Albuquerque, he was an Oklahoma rancher on Grand Lake in Delaware County, OK. Later he was a local businessman. He was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church and the "Loyal "Sunday School Class. Services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE with Pastor Larry Miller officiating. Entombment will take place at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may visit Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel on Tuesday, from 12:00 noon until the service. Roberta Jane (Bobbie) Ronald, 74, died Saturday, December 30, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Robert A. (Bob) Ronald of Albuquerque; daughters, Robin R. Nicely and husband, Al of Bothell, WA, Susan Jane Ronald of Spokane, WA and Sharon Richter and husband, Michael of Shelton, WA; son, Robert A. Ronald, II and wife, Donna Reel of Long Beach, CA; grandchildren, Shantelle Silva, Kane Silva, Alex Gardipe, Shanlee Richter and Rilee Richter. Mrs. Ronald was a former longtime active member and past president of Gamma Phi Beta Alumni Association. She was also a former member and past vice-president of the Albuquerque Assistance League. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 22, 2001 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd, NE with Robin R. Nicely, officiating. Marilyn J. "Mari" Schnoebelen, 70, an Albuquerque resident since November 1966, died Saturday, January 13, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Albert V. Schnoebelen of Albuquerque; daughters, Deborah M. Geib and husband, Mike of La Crescent, MN, Pamela M. Bollin and husband, Steve of Rio Rancho, NM, Nancy M. Verzin and husband, Joe of Paso Robles, CA; and JoAnne M. Howell and husband, James of Albuquerque; son, Timothy B. Schnoebelen of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kyle, Michael and Bradley Bollin, all of Rio Rancho, Rachel, Jacob and Ashley Howell, all of Albuquerque, Claire and Elizabeth Verzin, both of Paso Robles, CA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark Wright and wife, Tandra of Arvada, CO, Wanda Wright of Sunnyvale, CA, Carol Pauls of Newton Square, PA, Bernard Schnoebelen and wife, Bertha of Daisetta, TX, Dorothy Sullens of Yucca Valley, CA, Elaine Nelsen of Turtle Lake, WI, C.R. Mary M. Schortje, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Martin J. Schortje Jr.; daughters, Heidi Jensen and husband, Dan, Lori Hart and husband, Dennis; grandchildren, Heather Martinez and Chris, Michael and Jennifer Hart. She was employed by Gulton Industries for 35 years until her retirement in 1993. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be remembered for her quiet and gentle nature. The family would like to thank all their friends for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Thank you also to all those at Lovelace Hospice for their care and support. Raymond E. Torres, 52, a resident of Albuquerque since 1978, died Thursday, January 18, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Sue Torres of Albuquerque; sons, Ray Torres and wife, Larri-Lynn and John Torres and wife, Melinda, all of Albuquerque; daughter, Gena Sluga and husband, Shane of Phoenix, AZ; son, Kevin LoPresto and fiance, Jennifer of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Reece Torres, Megan Sluga, Allie Sluga, and Justin Hughes; and former wife, Jane Parras of Albuquerque. Mr. Torres served in the United States Navy SeaBees during the Vietnam Conflict. Most of his time and efforts were placed in youth sports, especially coaching and mentoring little league and YAFL. He was a loving husband, dedicated father and grandfather and will be most deeply missed by each one that knew him. Services will be held Sunday, January 21, 2001, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Ann Thatcher Ballard died on Friday. January 18, 2002 at the age of 72. She was born September 5, 1929 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was the first child of Henrietta Amelia Stamp of Wheeling, West Virginia and Stanton Willard Thatcher of Wichita Falls. TX. Her family moved to Santa Fe, NM in 1936. She attended grade school in Brownmoor School for Girls at Bishops Lodge. As a young girl she enjoyed the family ranch, Esperitu Santa, on the Holy Ghost Creek neat Terrero. In 1942, the family moved to Amarillo, TX where she attended Amarillo High School and graduated in 1947. She went to Scripps College in Pomona, CA for a year and transferred to the University of New Mexico, joining Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She graduated in 1951. She married Air Force pilot, Lt. John Garland Ballard, Jr., on April 5, 1952, having met him on a blind date in Amarillo. Along with her husband, the Air Force became her career, and their first child, Amy, was born in the Army Hospital in Fukuoka City, Kyushu, Japan. Assignments led to Stead AFB (SAC), Reno, NV, Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH and Stewart AFB, Newburg, NY, where John III and William Stanton were born. In 1960, the family moved to Menlo Park and Sunnyvale, CA. John received orders to Vietnam and Ann stayed in Sunnyvale where the children were attending school. In 1965, Holloman AFB was their next stop before returning to Sunnyvale and then to Washington, D.C. where John attended the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and was stationed at the Pentagon. This led to the family's move to Albuquerque where John's last posting was Kirtland AFB. This allowed Ann to meet old friends, mostly members of the Kappa Kappa Gamma (KKG) Sorority from school. In every new assignment, she joined a KKG Club, and she recently received her 50 year pin. In Albuquerque, she was a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club, Kappa Gourmet, Kappa Bridge, Cosmopolitan Bridge and the Twentieth Century Club in Washington, D.C. She volunteered at Presbyterian Hospital for 27 years with the Tuesday Hospital Auxiliary. Ann enjoyed attending ACLOA, now Music Theatre of the Southwest, productions, playing bridge, traveling, music and being with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Amy, of Washington, D.C.; sons, John and Bill of Albuquerque; grandchild, Stanton, of Albuquerque; sister, Karen Freund of Austin, TX; brother, Tom, of Amarillo, TX. A Memorial service will be held, Thursday, January 24, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a charitable organization of your choice.
