NEDRA M. COOK, 93, of Santa Fe died Tuesday. She was raised in Farmington and attended college at Ohio State University. She came to Santa Fe in 1936 as a first grade teacher and continued to teach as a substitute in the Santa Fe Public Schools until 1970. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Elton Cook and daughter, Carolyn J. Dobson. She is survived by her son, Paul Cook of Santa Fe; four granddaughters and many other relatives. GLENDA D. GERDEMAN, 77, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Sunday at Northeastern Regional Hospital. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Las Vegas, Las Vegas Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and executive secretary ot the Viles Foundation Board, which awards grants to deserving young people in Northern New Mexico. She is survived by her husband, Dale B. Gerdeman of Las Vegas, N.M.; daughters, Diane Peters and husband Jeff of Chandler, Ariz. and Ellen Klein and husband Lonnie of Las Cruces; sisters, Shirley Willis and husband Rudolph of Truro, Iowa and Sandra Thompson and husband Barry of Texas; two grandchildren; and many other relatives. CIPRICIA MARIA GRIEGO, 81, of Dixon died Tuesday. She loved arts and crafts, the Farmers Market and cooking her green chile stew. EDUARDO G. MONTOYA, 84, of Tecolote died Tuesday after a sudden illness. He was a longtime resident of the Montoya Ranch near Tecolote. He was a self-employed rancher, raised cattle and horses and worked for 10 years at the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. He also operated a small wholesale tree nursery. He loved spending time with his family and friends and going to the flea markets. He was the fourth-generation grandson of Salvador Montoya, who was the original founder of the Tecolote Land Grant. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church and a member of the CC Camps. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Isabel Montoya; daughter, Isabel Montoya; brother, James Montoya; and sisters, Bernice Macias and Mary Spiller. EDUARDO ERNESTO BUCKLEY, 45, of Santa Fe died Wednesday unexpectedly.
He was born in San Diego. He moved to Santa Fe in the early 1970s and worked for a variety of local restaursants, including The Shed and The Steaksmith for over 17 years. He began work at Whole Foods Market when it first opened over four years ago, first as a meat cutter, but soon became their graphic artist and sign maker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel N. Buckley and Ernestina Q. Buckley.
He is survived by his sisters, Carlotta B. Studebaker of Woodbridge, Va., and Patricia A. Sanuders of Las Flores, Calif.; brothers, Carlos Buckley of Santa Fe and Joseph D. Cuckley of Albuquerque; stepmother, Frances Shea Buckley; companion Jill Singer; Sweet Pea; and many other relatives and friends.
