Kim Harmon, Col. USAF (Ret.), 62, a resident of Albuquerque since 1985, died Wednesday, September 25, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Karen Harmon of Albuquerque; brother, Bruce Harmon and wife, Maria of West Linn, Oregon; mother, Eileen Harmon of West Linn, Oregon; aunt, Louise Murray of Albuquerque; and his friend, Rosie dog. Col. Harmon received his BS in Mechanical Engineering at Oregon State University and his MBA at University of Colorado, graduating Magna Cum Laude and attended Air War College. He married Karen Engle in 1964 at Luke Air Force Base Chapel, Arizona. Col. Harmon retired from the Air Force after a distinguished career of 26 years, which included two tours of duty in Vietnam as a combat pilot. Military decorations include, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal with Two Silver and Two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, AF Commendation Medal, Distinguished-Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Readiness Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Four Bronze Stars, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a member of the Albuquerque Soaring Club, Daedalians (National Fraternity of Military Pilots), Roadrunner Region Porsche Club of America, Sandia Peak Ski Patrol, and Delta Tau Delta National Fraternity. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at the Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel. Attendees may enter through the Wyoming Gate Entrance. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Col. Harmon's name to Albuquerque Community Foundation, P.O. Box 36960, Albuquerque, NM 87176-6960.

Rodney Kent Harrah, former Albuquerque resident passed away in Los Angeles on August 23, 2002 after a long struggle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Anne 'Ginger' Harrah; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Carl Bronson of Los Angeles; son, Richard Harrah of Seattle; and son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Diana Harrah of Long Beach, CA. Kent is also survived by his mother, Juanita Harrah of Beckley, WV; and sister and brother-in-law, Tamara and Mike Jones of Southport, NC.
Kent was born November 27, 1938 in Powellton, WV. He entered the United States Air Force as an Aviation Cadet in 1959. He received a commission and navigator wings a year later, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1979. Kent was a Vietnam Veteran with two deployments as a B-52 crew member and one as a staff officer. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, seven Air Medals, and two Meritorious Service Medals among other decorations. His last assignment was at Headquarters, United States Air Force, the Pentagon.
After Air Force retirement, Kent was a systems analyst and program manager with the BDM Corporation in Albuquerque. Later, he became active in programs and agencies serving the needs of the disabled community. He planned and led the creation of the Independent Living Resource Center, a non-profit agency assisting disabled adults to live more independently. He also played a major role in establishing the New Mexico Relay, an agency that enables speech and hearing impaired persons to communicate with hearing and speaking persons via the telephone.
Kent received a BA from Louisiana Tech University and an MBA from New Mexico Highlands University. The family requests that friends wishing to make a memorial contribution send their tax deductible donation to Zia Chapter, Paralyzed Veterans of America, 833 Gibson Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87120.
In accordance with Kent's wishes, cremation has taken place in Los Angeles, CA. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2002. Military honors will be bestowed.

A final visitation for Mrs. Clorinda Marquez will be Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Baros, Vincent Baros, Joey Baros, Eric Baros, Michelle Marquez and Manuel O. Chavez. Honorary pallbearers will be, Pete Baros, Gino Baros, Anthony Baros, Jennifer Baros, Melissa Marquez, Tina Martinez, Tanya Martinez, Cindy Chavez, Cathy Chavez, Gabrielle Chavez and Stephanie Chavez. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Cancer and Diabetes Foundation. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW in charge of the arrangements. 243-786.

Andrew Dominic Romero, age 22, and an Albuquerque resident died September 24, 2002. Survivors include his parents, Joyce and Raul Florez of Albuquerque; brothers, Gabriel and Joseph Trujillo of Albuquerque; grandmother, Vera Montoya of Los Lunas; aunt, Annette Medina and husband, Pat of Los Lunas; uncle, Silviano Garcia of Los Lunas; cousins, Mathew and Crystal Medina, Freddie, Nicholas and Jeremy Garcia, Genell Montoya. Andrew was a 2002 graduate of Belen High School and was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Thomas Barrela 'Tata' in April 2002. Viewing and visitation will be held, Friday, September 27, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2002 in the Holy Ghost Catholic Church 833 Arizona SE with Fr. Thomas J. Mayefske, Celebrant. Serving as Pallbearers will be Patrick Medina, Silviano Garcia, Steven Glass, Santiago Camarena, Leroy Chavez and Freddie Garcia. Andrew your name was 'of God ', and like God every time you smile you touched every ones life. And now that all your pain and suffering is gone you are now walking hand in hand with God and Tata. Sara Pies Rothstein, age 81, and a lifelong resident of Rochester, NY died September 25, 2002 in Edgewood, NM. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Harold; daughters, Sharon Rothstein-Pirozzi and husband, James of Edgewood, NM, Deborah Rothstein-Vestal Clark and husband, Charles of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Hillary Brown Fletcher and Jeremy Brown; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Sara was a Benefactor of the Jewish Home in Rochester, NY. Graveside Services and interment will be held Friday, September 27, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. in the Santa Fe National Cemetery with Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Home of Rochester, United Nations Children's Fund or Vista Care Hospice of Albuquerque. Steven Seth, 49, a resident of Albuquerque died, Monday, September 23, 2002. He is survived by his father, Art Seth. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Seth in 1998. Cremation has taken place. Interment of cremains were held at Sunset Memorial Park.

Final viewing for Mr. Joe L. Tapia will be Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Funeral Services will be conduct at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Funeral Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary 9420 4th Street NW.

Viola Ulibarri, age 62, passed away September 25, 2002 at the Guadalupe County Hospital in Santa Rosa. Viola was born July 11, 1940 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Isauro and Valeria Duran Martinez. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. Viola married Manuel Ulibarri in 1955 in Santa Rosa. She worked as a chef in various restaurants in Santa Rosa such as the Del Rey Cafe, Silvermoon, La Fiesta, Shawford and the Sun and Sands. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Viola loved going to the Casinos, playing Bingo, going to Joseph's Restaurant for her daily glass of tea and spending time with her family and friends. Viola was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will be truly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Gerald Eloy Ulibarri and Tim Ulibarri; her grandson, Little Leroy Ulibarri; and her brother, Jose I. 'Cho Cho' Martinez, Jr. Survivors include her husband, Manuel Ulibarri of the family home in Santa Rosa; her children, Anthony Martinez of Santa Rosa, Shirley Sena and husband, Faustin of Moriarty, Violet Abeyta and husband, Herman of Santa Rosa, Joann Gutierrez and husband, Gene of Albuquerque, Eileen Maestas and husband, Alvin of Santa Rosa, Thomas Ulibarri and wife, Frances of Santa Rosa, Leroy Ulibarri and wife, Yolanda of Albuquerque, Peter Ulibarri and wife, Eileen of Bernalillo, Matthew Ulibarii and wife, Emily of Santa Rosa, Corrine Chavez and husband, Erminio of Santa Rosa, Sylvia Gutierrez and husband, Jerry of Moriarty, Yolanda Acosta and husband, Diego of Amarillo, TX, Margaret Rodriquez and husband, Alfonso of Clovis and Angela Martinez and husband, Ted of Moriarty; her daughters-in-law, Viola E. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. also from St. Rose Church with Father Stephen Schultz officiating. As per Viola's wishes her body will be cremated and Interment of cremains will be held on Monday, September 30, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Serving as Pallbearers will be Anthony Martinez, Thomas Ulibarri, Leroy Ulibarri, Peter Ulibarri, Matthew Ulibarri, Haracio Martinez, Tomas Martinez, Pat Martinez, Faustin Sena, Herman Abeyta, Joseph Gutierrez, Alvin Maestas, Erminio Chavez, Jerry Gutierrez, Diego Acosta, Alfonso Rodriguez and Teddy Martinez. All services were entrusted to Chavez Funeral Home, 923 South 3rd Street, Santa Rosa, NM (505)472-3369.

Ralph W. Whitson, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 22, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie; daughter, Cheryl Cox and husband, Stanley of Omaha, NE; sons, John Whitson and wife, Gayle of Perth, Australia, Paul Whitson and wife Nancy, James Whitson and wife Stephanie, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Joseph Cox and wife Michelle, Kimball Vredeveld and husband Kevin, Mollie Whitson, Luke Whitson, Ashley Whitson, Michael Whitson, Jennifer Whitson and Whitney Whitson; and great-grandson, Joshua Joseph Cox. Ralph was born in Payson, Utah on October 17, 1913. He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a master mechanic for U & I Sugar Company in Utah, Idaho, South Dakota and Montana, before enlisting in the U.S. Navy as an Ensign. He served three years in the South Pacific as a flag secretary before being discharged in 1945 as a Lieutenant Commander. In 1945 he married Marjorie Kimball, and in 1950 they relocated to Albuquerque where he worked at Sandia Laboratories until his retirement in 1973. He was active in Boy Scouts and served as an elder and trustee at Immanuel Presbyterian Church. He also served on the board of Sandia Labs Federal Credit Union. Ralph enjoyed traveling and was an enthusiastic supporter of his children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 27th, 11:00 a.m., at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle SE. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 90790, Albuquerque, NM 87199. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Mary Helen Wolfe passed to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at the age of 84. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim Wolfe of Albuquerque; sons, Greg Wolfe of Albuquerque, Rev. Gary Wolfe and wife, Beckey of Carlsbad, NM; granddaughters, Christie Almon and husband, Russell of Plainview, TX and Carrie Wolfe of Lubbock, TX; beloved great-granddaughter, Damaris Mikaelia Almon of Plainview, TX; sister, Leona Maloney and husband, Tom of Albuquerque; and brother, Bill Gregory and wife, Dany of Danville, CA. She leaves behind several wonderful friends and neighbors who have been such a great help to her during this time of illness, but looked forward to being with Jesus and loved ones and friends who have gone before her. Helen was preceded in death by her father and mother, Bill and Opal Gregory, one sister, Norma Jean Gregory; and three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a member of Sandia Baptist Church in Albuquerque, and she was a founding member of the Albuquerque Association for Retarded Citizens. Services will be held Friday, September 27, 2002, 10:00 a.m., at Sandia Baptist Church, 9429 Constitution NE, with her son, Rev. Gary Wolfe, Pastor of Cavern Baptist Church in Carlsbad and Dr. Robert Butler, Pastor of Sandia Baptist Church in Albuquerque officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to ARCA, 11300 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87112. Funeral services for Mrs. Aragon will be held on Friday at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Joel Garner at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Aragon will be held on Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the mortuary chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening by George Lucero at 7:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Robert H. Badgett, 68, died Tuesday, September 28, 1999, after a lengthy fight with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Christina Badgett of Albuquerque; sons, Lon Badgett and wife, Maria of Austin, TX, Bret Badgett and wife, Carol of Los Lunas, NM; daughters, Ann Badgett of Tucson, AZ and Ameka Mobley and husband, Mike of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Walter Badgett and Richard Badgett, both of Austin, TX; Jeremy Badgett and Samantha, both of Los Lunas, NM, and Kyra Mobley of Amarillo, TX; sisters, Francis Allen of Maryville, TX and Martha Price of Friendsville, TN; sisters-in-law, Vera Berg of Alexandria, VA and Sharon Berg of Danville, IN; 11 nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and his faithful dog, Omar. He was born and raised in the town of Maryville in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains of East Tennessee. After enlisting in the early years of the United States Air Force, he was stationed at Scott Force Base in Illinois where he met and married a beautiful young Airman named Christina with whom he spent the rest of his life. They traveled the world, raise a family, and finally retired in Albuquerque after a 28-year career. During his military years, he was an Independent Duty Medic, one of about 200 trained in this precursor of the Physician's Assistant Program. He later served as a Superintendent of Nursing and Professional Services. He enjoyed a subsequent career as the Assistant Director of Albuquerque Ambulance and in later years participated as a volunteer for the Red Cross. He was a graduate of Maryville High School and he held a Bachelor degree from the University of Albuquerque and a Master's degree from Webster University. He instilled a keen love of learning in his children and set a continual example of dedication, public service, and Christian fellowship in his professional and private life. He served as the lay leader for a small group of Lutheran families stationed in Libya in the early 1960's and was the kind and supportive friend of virtually everyone who ever knew him. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Sunday, October 3, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at Faith in Christ Lutheran Church, 1750 Faith Court at the corner of Chelwood and Indian School Rd. NE, with Rev. Roger Wohletz officiating. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions may be made to The Irving Granet Mantle Cell Lymphoma Research Fund, c/o Lymphoma Research Foundation of America, 8800 Venice Blvd., #207, Los Angeles, CA 90034. Scott Lee Crutchfield
May 29, 1971-September 28, 1999
Scott Crutchfield, age 28, died Tuesday, September 28, 1999, following a brave fight against a brain tumor. He is survived by his wife, Alexandra Crutchfield and his infant son, Adam Wesley Crutchfield, both of Austin, Texas; parents, Charles and Karen Crutchfield of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Melissa Crutchfield of Dallas; and grandmothers, Ruth Jenkins of Concord, NC, and Benja Lee Crutchfield of Albuquerque, NM. Visitation will be at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home, Austin, Texas, on Thursday evening, September 30 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The service will be held at University United Methodist Church, Austin, Texas, on Friday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m. Scott was born in Ruidoso, NM, and lived with his family in Odessa, Hobbs, Carlsbad and El Paso. A graduate of Periman High School, Odessa, Texas, he was a National Merit Scholar and active in the band. He attended the 1987 Texas Governor's School and the Research Science Institute in Washington, D.C. After completing his B.S.E. degree at Duke University (1993), he earned his Master's degree in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Texaa, Austin (1996). He worked for Motorola's M-Core division until the time of this death. Scott loved his family, his church, and his many friends. He and Alexandra Lynn Maynard met at Duke University and were married July 31, 1993, in Greensboro, NC. Active in the United Methodist Church his entire life, he was involved in the Wesley Fellowship at Duke. At University United Methodist Church he was a member of the choir, the Odyssey Class, and Disciple Bible study. He enjoyed hiking, skiing, travel and foreign languages and was an avid fan of Duke basketball.
