Aaron W. Bigbie, 31, entered into rest on September 25, 2000. He was a resident of Albuquerque residing in Tulsa, OK the last four years prior to his death. He is survived by his son, Levi Bigbie; mother, Nancy Dow; sister, Melanie Whitaker and husband, Michael Gallegos; three nieces, Mikayla, Megan and Miranda; maternal grandparents, Edwin and Joline Lease; grandmother, Louise Dow; aunt, Kathy Wilson; cousins, Tara Broussard and Chad Wilson; aunt, Barbara Mathias all of Albuquerque; uncle, Richard Dow and wife, Carole and cousin, Brian Dow of Camarillo, CA; paternal grandparents, Artie and Ruby Payne of Louisiana. Aaron was preceded in death by his grandfather, Everett Dow. A Memorial will be held in his honor on April 6, 2002 at 11:00 a.m., First Church of Religious Science, 3320 San Pedro NE with Reverend Patrick Pollard officiating. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the How Foundation, 5649 S. Garnett, Tulsa OK. 74146.

Ora (Caudill) Bourbonia, age 92, a lifelong resident of New Mexico died March 19, 2002. She was born in the territory of New Mexico in the township of Lovington, NM to James W. Caudill and Martha Cornett. Ora is survived by daughter, Betty Jean Davis of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughters, Janice Anderson and husband, Brian of Albuquerque, NM, Elizabeth Cox of Albuquerque, NM; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Duncan and husband, Dave of Las Cruces, NM, Jonny Cummins, Tommy Cummins and Jimmy Anderson all of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Mittie McGuire of Las Cruces, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John A. Bourbonia. As a young girl she and her family moved to Tyrone, NM during WWI, graduating from Silver City High School in Silver City, NM, she attended New Mexico State Teachers College in Silver City, NM, where she received her Teacher's Certificate, specializing in mathematics, upon graduation she was hired in Rincon, NM, where she met her future husband. Ora and John also resided in Hatch, NM, moving to Albuquerque in 1955, particularly rewarding were her many years of service to the International Order of Rainbow for Girls at Hatch Assembly #26 as Mother Advisor as well as serving as Worthy Matron of Hatch Chapter #52 Order of the Eastern Star. Ora held many state offices and committee positions for the Grand Chapter of New Mexico O.E.S. Including attending the International Convention of General Grand Chapter in Edenborough, Scotland. She enjoyed Ballroom Dancing, was an excellent Bridge Player and a master gardener with a special Love of roses. She was also a very active member of many other organizations. Prior to retirement, Ora was Credit Manager for Fedway Dept Stores for 10 years. Following her husband's death, she resided at La Vida Llena retirement center where she enjoyed many friends. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren deeply and spent many hours teaching and caring for them. The family wishes to thank all staff members at LVL, especially Shirley Gilbertson for their many hours of care. Services will be held March 23, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE with Rev. Charles Price officiant. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park 700 Yale Blvd SE.

Michael Saul Brussel, 55, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Hannah Ziegellaub; his two daughters, Felicia Hebisen of Missouri and Rachael Zara Brussel of Colorado; sisters, Naomi Brussel and Deborah Brussel; brother, David Brussel; and grandson, Tyler Hebisen. Graveside service will be Monday, March 25, at 12:00 noon at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Lane in Rio Rancho. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michael Brussel fund at Congregation Nahalot Shalom, 3606 Rio Grande Blvd. NW in Albuquerque. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, 892-9920.

Cynthia Albertha Cooper, age 71, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2002. She is survived by her devoted husband, Calvin; children, D. Chris Cooper, Valerie Lynch, Cyd Cooper, Coretta Doshbritton and husband, Eric, Lynda Cooper, Jerrie Merritt and husband, Milton, Brenda Wright and Doris Troutman; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters and other family and friends who love her and will miss her. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 24, 2002, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 25, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at Foothills Fellowship, 12504 Candelaria NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Max Crespin, 69, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Terrilyn Duncan and husband, Rick; Michele Sherman and husband, Chris, all of Albuquerque; son, Marshall Crespin of Virginia; grandsons, Ben Crespin and Isaac Sherman; granddaughter, Michaela Sherman, all of Albuquerque; brothers, David Crespin and Johnny Crespin, both of Bernalillo; and sister, Deborah Turner of Albuquerque. He will also be missed by extended family and friends. Cremation has taken place and interment of cremains will be held Monday, March 25, 2002, at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Jane Cummings, 59, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, March 22, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, William 'Butch' Cummings of Albuquerque; daughter, Kelli Cummings of Albuquerque; mother, Amena Conty of Albuquerque; brother, Frank Conty and wife, Nancy of Albuquerque; sister, Paula Jameson of Albuquerque; nephew, Roger Jameson; nieces, Tina Jameson, Renee Lynn, and Sheila McDonald and husband, Roy; great-grandniece, Amena Jameson. She was preceded in death by her father, John Conty in 1986. Jane was employed by Digital for over 20 years and had started a tanning business with her sister. She was active with charities including Children of Chernobyl. Jane loved to fish, camp, and spend time with her dogs. She was an avid gardener and loved to grow flowers to share with friends and family. Jane was a dedicated and loving wife and mother who will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. Rosary will be recited Monday, March 25, 2002, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Services will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2002, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Edna Doyle, 80 passed away at the home of her daughter Alex Beach on Monday, March 18, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bernard P. Doyle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Grace Clarke; and three brothers, Alex, Wilbur, and Fredrick Clarke. Other survivors include her daughters, Alex Beach and husband, Arthur, Anne Ferguson, Stacey Poindexter and husband, Robert; son, Luke Doyle and wife, Cynthia; grandchildren, Eric Beach, Jesse, Kelly, and Ben Ferguson, Katie and Audrey Poindexter, Clarke, Whitney, and Lindsay Doyle. Edna graduated from Texas State College for Women in 1942 where she was senior class president, three times Rosebud Princess and eventually Rosebud Queen at Texas A&M University. She loved to read, play bridge, knit, and toll paint. Her sense of humor and kind heart remained with her until the end. Cremation has taken place. Father Michael Demkovich will celebrate a Memorial Mass on Monday, March 25, 2002,10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas NE on the UNM campus. Joseph S. Ferris, age 83, formerly of Albuquerque, born July 10, 1918, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2002 in Pueblo, CO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; and two sons, David and Matthew Ferris. He is survived by his son, Michael (Lynn) Ferris; grandsons, Brandon and Joseph; step-grandsons, Drake and Spencer Stachler; brother, Theodore Ferris of California; sister, Catherine Carter of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. Joe was born in Trinidad, CO, the oldest son of three brothers and one sister. While growing up, he worked with his father in the family business, The Livewire Cleaners, and graduated from Trinidad High School as an All-State football player. After receiving numerous college scholarship offers, Joe attended Texas Christian University for a short time, but was called back to Trinidad to run the family business after his father's death. He was drafted into the Army in 1940, where he served with the 5th Cavalry Division, El Paso, TX. After discharge, Joe stayed in Trinidad and continued to run the family business with his mother while his two brothers and sister served in WWII. In 1944, Joe married Irene Ferris and moved to Los Alamos to operate Ferris Cleaners with his two brothers, Phil and Ted. In 1952, he moved to Albuquerque where he owned and operated a number of businesses including the Joe Ferris Realty Corp. Because of declining health, Joe moved to Pueblo, CO in July of 1998 to be near his son and two grandsons. Joe Ferris touched the lives of many of us and will always be remembered as a loving father and grandfather and a generous and giving friend to the many people that came in contact with him. He was always larger than life itself, with a heart of gold, filled with love. He will be dearly missed by all of us. Rosary will be recited Monday, March 25, 2002, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at 11:30 a.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Monday, March 25, 2002, 2:00 p.m. until time of rosary.

Patrocinia Gomez, 75, was called home to be with our Lord March 21, 2002. She was born February 21, 1927 to Lazaro and Ramoncita Martinez, in San Pablo, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ismael Gomez; her son, Alfred Gabriel Gomez; her sister, Magdalena Lujan. She is survived by her daughters, Elva and husband, Valentino Gutierrez, Barbara and husband, Daniel Martinez, Lorraine and husband, Duane Saavedra; her sons, Tony and wife, Virginia Gomez, Raymond and wife Margaret Gomez, Richard Gomez, Louie Gomez, and Ernie Gomez; brothers, Joe and wife, Lupe Martinez, Larry and wife, Lucille Martinez; sisters, Mele and husband, Tony Cordova, Mary Lou and husband, Jose Quezada, Lita and husband, Ismael Martinez; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; many other nieces and nephews. Our mother, sister, grandmother and friend to everybody, will be truly missed and remembered for loving kindness and generosity to everybody. Viewing and Services will be held at Nativity Of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, located at 4th and Alameda NW. A viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2002. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2002. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2002. Burial will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery. Emilia Gonzales, 94, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully of natural causes, Friday, March 22, 2002. She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family, Arthur and wife, Mary Ann, Gilbert and wife, Marlene, Max and wife, Emily, Victor, Jr. and wife, Jane; sister, Petrita Garbarino of Denver, CO; brothers, Sostenes Ortiz, Jr. and wife, Mary of Las Vegas, NM, Napoleon Ortiz and wife, Cecilia of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor on November 1, 1991, marking a 66 year long marriage. She will be greatly missed by her friends and relatives of her large extended family. Emilia was born August 8, 1907 to the home of Sostenes and Florencia Ortiz at Corazon, NM in San Miguel Co. She was a lifelong Catholic and parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Society of Albuquerque. Rosary will be recited Monday, March 25, 2002, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Deacon Lloyd Martinez reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 26, 2002, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE, with Father Tom Zotter, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Lisa Romo, Gina Ikeda, Lawrence Gonzales, Christopher Gonzales, Timothy Gonzales, Antoinette Quintana, Annette Flores, Gloria Trask, and Yvonne Gonzales. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Family members are deeply grateful to Mission Manor and Sandia Hospice for their kindness, care, and benefits received. Carol June Hill, age 66, a resident of Albuquerque died March 20, 2002. She was born June 2, 1935 in Milburn, Oklahoma to Cecil Harold and Lois M. (Kinsey) Whatley. She is survived by one son; Richard A. Hill of Albuquerque; her mother, Lois Jones of Albuquerque; one brother, Cecil J. Whatley of Odessa, TX. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Harold Whatley; and her husband, Dewain E. Hill in 1980. Visitation will be from 2:00p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2002 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE. Services will be at 10:00 am Monday, March 25, 2002 in Fern Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary Rev. Linda M. Dyer will officiate. Interment will follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. with Richard A. Hill, Cecil Whatley, Dennis Kinsey and Gene Kinsey serving as Pallbearers. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is handling the arrangements.

Elizabeth (Bette) Green Johnson passed away March 20, 2002 following a short illness. Born January 12, 1926 to Lucy Franklin and William S. Green in Hoopeston, IL, she was a graduate of the Chicago Art Institute where she met and married Richard M. Johnson. They moved to Albuquerque to become art teachers for the Albuquerque Public Schools. After a successful career she retired from Rio Grande High School in 1986. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Walter Franklin Green; and her husband. She is survived by her sister, Mary Alice Kopf of Minneapolis, MN; niece, Sarah Kopf-Patterson and husband, Gavin of Seattle, WA; nephew, Walter Kopf and wife, Judy of Seattle, WA; grandniece, Madeline Patterson; and special friends, Jacob Beidler and Thomas McMullen of Albuquerque. She was a member of the Board of her Neighborhood Association, a longtime member of P.E.O. and a member of the New Mexico and Albuquerque Retired Teachers Associations. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sandia Funeral Care. There will be an Open House for those who knew and loved her on March 24, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 5116 Guadalupe Trail NW. Mr. Alfredo A. Marquez, 71, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on March 20, 2002. Mr. Marquez is survived by two sons; Bernie Marquez and wife, Julia, Roy Marquez and wife, Connie; four daughters, Viola Baros and husband, George, Joan Baros, Irene Baros and husband, Joseph, Elaine Marquez and husband, Anthony; his mother, Maria Marquez; four sisters, Rose Garcia, Annie Gonzales, Dora Lovato and husband, Leroy and Mary Pruitt; three brothers, Jesus Marquez and wife, Mary, Reynaldo Marquez and wife, Trinnie and Steve Marquez; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandchild; many nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Marquez was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation will be Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, 300 Mildred NW with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. by Valerio and Trini Lucero. A final viewing will be Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. by Father Jim Suntum S.F. Interment will follow at the Marquez Cemetery in Marquez, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be; Michelle D. Marquez, Pete Baros, Eugene Baros, Eric Baros, Joey Baros and Anthony Baros. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of the arrangements.
