JOE ALLEN STIVER, of Santa Fe, died Tuesday at home after a short illness. He was born Dec. 8, 1930, in Ponca City, Okla., to Oliver and Helen Stiver. He graduated from Springdale, Ark., High School in 1949 and married Carol Simons there in 1950. They lived in Ponca City, Okla., where as a carpenter he began his lifetime work in construction. After supervising construction of many schools, office buildings and homes in several states, he retired in 1996 from Davis & Associates in Santa Fe. He was active as one of Jehovah's Witnesses all his life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Stiver; and two brothers, Charles O. Stiver and Roger Stiver. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol Stiver; his father, Oliver Stiver of Leoti, Kan.; brother, Richard Stiver and wife Glenda of Elkhart, Kan.; brother, Gary Stiver and wife Marilyn of Sutherland, Neb.; sister, Gayle Harris of Lakewood, Colo.; and many other relatives and friends. MARGARET ANN GARCIA, 52, of Albuquerque, and formerly of Las Vegas, N.M., died Wednesday in Albuquerque. She was born on Dec. 31, 1951, to Helen Garcia and the late Edward Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward; first husband, Benjamin Leopoldo Archuleta; second husband, Brother Richard Garcia; and uncle, Eddie Garcia.
She is survived by her mother, Helen Ortega and husband Alfonso Ortega of Las Vegas, N.M.; daughter, Yvonne Archuleta and fiance Gerald Garduno; sons, Benjie Archuleta and wife Barbara of Albuquerque, and Raymond Archuleta and wife Jessica of Las Vegas, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Ortega, Barbara Ortega, Dorothy Ortega, Josie Ortega and Lorraine Ortega all of Las Vegas, N.M.; brothers, David Garcia and wife Mary of Los Angeles, and Eddie Ortega of Santa Fe; and many other relatives and friends.

MARIA RAYCITA NARANJO, 76, of Santa Clara Pueblo, died Friday at University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose M. and Pablita Chavarria; husband, Adolph Naranjo; grandson, Jeremy Naranjo; and a brother, Thomas Chavarria.
She is survived by three children, David Naranjo and wife Jennifer, Ernest Naranjo and wife Kathy, and Vanessa Tafoya all of Santa Clara Pueblo; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; six sisters and two brothers, Clara Shije, Elizabeth Naranjo, Florence Browning, Mary Carlisle, Mary Singer, Mildred Chavarria, Lorreto Chavarria and Jose N. Chavarria, all of Santa Clara Pueblo; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. today at the Santa Clara Pueblo Church and Cemetery.

BRINTON TURKLE, 88, of Santa Fe, formerly of Alliance, Ohio, died Thursday. He moved to Santa Fe in 1948, where he started his family. Moving to New York City in 1959, he pursued a successful career as an author and illustrator of children's books. He received many awards, including the Lewis Carrol Shelf Award and the Book World Award, and was a runner-up for the Caldecott Medal. He returned to Santa Fe in the mid-1970s and in 2001 was honored by the state of New Mexico with the Governor's Award for excellence in the Arts. Residing at the El Castillo Retirement Residence, he leaves behind many loyal friends and caregivers.
The family wishes to thank Hospice and the Quaker Meeting, of which he was a member for many years, for their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Santa Fe Friend's Meeting, 630 Canyon Road, Santa Fe, N.M., 87501.

JUANITA O. (JENNY) VIGIL, 82, died Friday surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 27, 1921, in Pecos, to Antonio and Elena Ortega.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Elena Ortega; two sisters, Petra Ortega and Flora Hunick; two brothers, Antonio Ortega Jr. and Max Ortega; her husband, Jose P. Vigil; two daughters, Barbara Romero and Josephine (Fefa) Lucero; son, Frank (Pancho) Vigil; son-in-law, Carlos Garcia and grandson Juan Bustos Jr.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Martha (Marti) Chavez and husband Henry, Antonette Tenison and husband John, and Gloria Garcia, all of Santa Fe; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

PAULINE M. ALARID, 78, of Santa Fe, died Wednesday. She retired from the City of Santa Fe, and was a local artist of retablos and ceramics.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolfo "Rudy" Alarid; son, Robert R. Alarid; father, Lino Martinez, Sr.; mother, Emilia Martinez; and brother, Lino Martinez, Jr. She is survived by her beloved children, Orlando Alarid and wife Marlene of Santa Fe, Yolanda Alarid of Santa Fe, Marie Alarid of Albuquerque, Mario Alarid and wife Sharmen of Albuquerque; four grandchildren; brother, Leandro Martinez and wife Margie; sisters, Rachel Garcia, and Alice Gonzales and husband Alfred. JOHN HENRY BRANDENBURG, 82, of Taos and Red River died Tuesday. He was born April 11, 1921, in Taos to Jack and Lottie Brandenburg. He went to school in Eagle Nest, Red River and Costilla. He was a member of the Elks, Kiwanas, Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He owned and operated Siesta Lodge and Johnny's Store in Red River, he was also co-owner of Arthur/Brandenburg Insurance Agency in Raton until he moved to Taos and started Brandenburg Agency. As a tail gunner in World War II, he was shot down over Bremen, Germany, and spent 19 months as prisoner of war in Stalag 17B. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lottie Brandenburg; and sister, Aileen Campbell (D.A.). He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosemary Brandenburg; children, Kathleen A. Vukonich (Michael) of Raton, John D. Brandenburg (A. Renay) of Red River, H. Rosemary "Cokie" Dickinson (Rodney) of Clovis, and Pamela A. Kite (Cecil) of Eagle Nest; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Private family services and interment will be held in Red River. FRED "MR. C." CISNEROS, 70, of Santa Fe died Wednesday surrounded by his children following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsie; daughter, Patricia C. Montoya; parents, Federico and Eulogia; and sisters, Ruby, Loyda and Genevieve. He was born July 12, 1933, in Questa. He married Elsie Martinez on Jan. 12, 1952. The Cisneros family moved to Santa Fe in 1955 where Fred began his career with Sanco Motors (which later became Capitol Ford) and retired after 29 years of service. Later, he was employed at the State Highway Department, District 5, and worked as shop foreman, retiring in 1996. Since that time, he worked with his son at Cisneros Design. He was a member of the Santa Maria de La Paz Catholic Community, and BPOE Elks Lodge # 460. He is survived by his children, Arlene Sena and husband Richard, Doris Archuletta and husband Steven, Laurie Sanchez and husband Domingo, and Fred A. Cisneros; sister, Sobeida Santistevan and husband Erminio; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. ROGELIO CORRALES, 81, of Gallina died Tuesday at his home. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He retired from the U.S. Forest Service and was a lifetime rancher and pillar of the community. He is survived by his wife, Marcella Corrales; son, Roger Corrales Jr. and wife Beverly all of Gallina; daughters, Clora Gerber and husband Darryl of Las Cruces, Pauline Chacon and husband Ivan of Coyote, JoAnn Jacquez and husband Clyde Jr. of Farmington, Doris Corrales of Albuquerque, Monica Corrales of Santa Fe; brothers, Joe Corrales of Gallina, and Frank Corrales and wife Mabel of Utah; sister, Elizaida Suazo and husband Willie of Gallina; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
