JOSE SALOMON STRUCK, 83, of Taos died Aug. 16.
He was an Army veteran who served in Europe during World War II and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts for wounds received in combat. He was a longtime Taos school teacher of ninth-grade civics. He was an elder of the Taos First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Theodora Struck; children, Charlene Labadie (Gilbert) and Debbie Struck, all of Taos, Sylvia Roybal (Sylvian) and Barbara Larsen, and Jeanie Sena, all of Denver, and Jessica Bliven (Matthew) of Albuquerque; 10 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

WILLIE STRUCK, 80, of Española died Aug. 16.
He was a security guard for 28 years for the Department of Energy in Los Alamos and then worked as a security guard at the Española Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Struck.
He is survived by his children, Phillip Struck and wife Rose of Santa Fe, Arthur Struck and wife Nancy and Charles Struck and wife Elaine, all of Albuquerque, Elsie Loibl and husband Michael and Eleanor Alarid and husband Ronnie, all of Española, and Roberta Abeyta and husband Teddy of El Guique; sisters, Cecilia Jimenez, Luz Trujillo and husband Pat and Priscilla Martinez and husband Dalio, all of Albuquerque, and Rosa Simpson and husband Jim of California; brothers, Bernabe Struck of Ranchos de Taos, Meliton Struck Jr. and wife Lucille of Taos; 16 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with military honors.

THOMAS CARMAN, 82, of Santa Cruz died August 23, 2005. He was a member of the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the special engineering detachment. He received the Meritorious Unit Award, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. He was an expert marksman and specialized in explosives photography for the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos. He worked for the Los Alamos National Laboratory until his retirement in 1983.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry A. Carman.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Carman of Santa Cruz; children, Carol and Diane Carman, both of Albuquerque, Robert Carman and wife Robin of Santa Cruz, Thomas Carman and wife Nancy of Rio Rancho, Paul Carman and wife Kate of Colorado; four grandchildren; sister, Lois Snowden of Virginia; brother, Wayne Carman and wife Judy of Georgia; and many other relatives and friends.

ARMAND P. HALASKA, 81, of San Juan, N.M. died August 22, 2005 at St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe.
He was born in Chicago to the late Andrew J. Halaska and Nina Papp Halaska. He was a resident of San Juan for the past 10 years and was a former resident of Chicago. He was united in marriage to Shirley Louise Soelter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with HQ Command Allied Force. He was awarded the 1 Service Stripe, 4 Overseas Service Bars, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon w/1 Bronze Battle Star, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He retired from the Glidden Paint Company where he was employed for 35 years as a chemical engineer. They moved to San Juan from Chicago to get closer to their daughter, Nina, who owns and operates the Pecos River Station in San Juan.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley L. Halaska of San Juan; daughter, Nina L. Post and husband Glen of San Juan; son, Richard Halaska of Aurora, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. No services will be held.

PASTOR HAROLD P. CHIOLERO of Santa Fe died Aug. 31.
He was the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Cicero, Ill. for 27 years and Pastor of Temple Baptist Church of Santa Fe for 11 years. He was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and relatives, his church family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Chiolero; daughter, Brenda L. Wakefield and husband Don, and Bonnie Turner; seven grandchildren; sister, Barbara Ferreira and husband Fritz of Chicago; and many other relatives and friends.
