JUAN M. DEVARGAS, 82, of Taos died Sept. 13, 2005. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Gonzales; and daughter, Anna Garcia.
He is survived by his children, Victor DeVargas (Susan) of Albuquerque, Jane DeVargas of Albuquerque, Jesse DeVargas (Karen) of Taos, Theresa Salazar (Ernesto) of Ponderosa, Loretta Cisneros (Cris) of El Prado, Albert DeVargas of Taos, Joseph DeVargas of Texas, Elena Williams (Jimmy) of Taos; 19 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Rosaries were recited on Sept. 14-15. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sept. 16 at San Francisco de Asis with burial to follow at the Pacheco Cemetery.

MARY ADONILA SACHEZ-LUCERO, 78, of Taos died Sept. 14, 2005, after a long illness.
She was born in Ojo Sarco of Taos and most recently resided in Albuquerque.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Magdalena (Tafoya) Sanchez; stepmother, Genara (Aragon) Sanchez; husband, Lucas Lucero; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Paul Martinez of Chamita; brother, Jimmy Sanchez and three of her 13 children (Joe Ned, Mary Ann, Bobby Michael Lucero).
She is survived by her longtime companion, Meliton Montano; children, Mary P (Eliseo) Trujillo of Truchas, Albert (Fran) Lucero of Santa Fe, Stella (Glenn) Hokanson of Bernalillo, Lucas "Junior" Lucero, Eddie (Anna) Lucero, Jerry Lucero, Vincent Lucero, Jimmy Lucero, David (Anna) Lucero, and Phillip Lucero, all of Taos; 22 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sept. 17 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Taos.

RODERICK C. PADILLA, 44, of Pecos died Sept. 13, 2005, after a long illness.
He lived for several years in California. He was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to Gilberto Padilla and Lucille M. Gonzales. He attended welding school in Tucumcari. Over the years, he worked building construction for various contractors as a laborer. He was formerly employed at the Inn of Pecos as a security guard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of the St. Anthony's Church in Pecos.
He is survived by his mother, Lucille M. Gonzales of Pecos; father, Gilberto Padilla of Los Angeles; sisters, Angela Benavidez of Sapello and Cynthia Garcia and husband John of Belen; brothers, Gilbert Padilla, Jr. and girlfriend Angela Gonzales of Albuquerque, and Don Padilla and wife Geraldine of Las Vegas, N.M.; special friend, Eddie King of Pecos; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation for family and friends will be held from noon- 5 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Rogers Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Sept. 17 at the same church with burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora Del Refugio Cemetery in Los Vigiles.

CLAUDIA ABEL SIGALA, 31, of Santa Fe died Sept. 14, 2005.
She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her father, Florentino Avalos.
She is survived by her son, Eli Sigala; mother, Micaela Sigala; and sister, Rubiana Avalos.

WALTER LEROY STARK JR., 77, of Santa Fe died Sept. 14, 2005.
"Starky" was born to one of Santa Fe's oldest Spanish families, traced back to 1699. His grandfather was the mayor of Santa Fe, his mother, Maida, was a Fiesta Queen and famous dancer, and his father, Walter L. Stark, was a longtime salesman for Old Cherry Motors. He met his wife, Sharon, when they were barely teenagers and they went on to be sweethearts at Santa Fe High, even during the year Starky went to New Mexico Military Institute. The Korean War saw Starky overseas with the army, and Sharon and Starky married as soon as he came home. They had a wonderful relationship for 56 years. He proudly worked in all capacities over the years for the Maytag Shop, from repairman to sales manager, during his 38 years with John McCauley. He joined the Twenty-Thirty Club, where he worked energetically. His favorite pasttime was bowling, joining teams for more than 20 years.
He is survived by his sons, Don L. Stark of Las Vegas, Nev. and Robert D. Stark and wife Anne of Santa Fe; three grandchildren; sister, Carmen Stark of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at Berardinelli Family Funeral Service, followed by burial at 1 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

SHAWN RYAN FARRELL, 25, of Santa Fe died September 23, 2005.
He was the son of Richard M. and Karin Farrell.
Shawn will be deeply missed by his family: his sister, Jenny Farrell of Orlando, Fla.; grandparents, Louise and Paul Karl of Santa Fe; grandmother, Ima Farrell of Pasadena, Texas; aunts, uncles and cousins of Texas and New Mexico, as well as many other friends.

DANIEL J. MONTOYA, 47, of Los Luceros died September 19, 2005 in Taos.
He was preceded in death by his father, Trinidad J. Montoya.
He is survived by his mother, Josephine Esquibel and husband Tony of Los Luceros; brothers, Jacob Montoya and wife Minnie of Los Luceros, and Abe Montoya and wife Kim of Denver; and many other relatives.
Cremation arrangements were made and a memorial service was held Sept. 24 at Valley View United Methodist Church in Española.
