JOHN B. MONTOYA, 80, of Santa Fe died March 6, 2005.
He was born in San Idelfonso, the son of Jose C. and Ageda Montoya. He married Nellie Montoya in Santa Fe in 1946. He was employed as a medical technician for the New Mexico State Penitentiary until retirement. He also worked as a manager at St. John's Soup Kitchen for many years. He was a loving and generous man who got enormous joy from doing things for others.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie; daughter, Margie; brothers, Clyde, Orlando, Delfino and sister, Lucy.
He is survived by his sons, David Montoya and Gil Montoya and wife Judy; four grandchildren; sister, Alby Rodriguez and husband Ricky; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be donated to St. John's Soup Kitchen in Santa Fe.
A visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

FLORENTINO (TINO) A. VARELA, 48, of Pecos died March 4, 2005.
He was born in Pecos to the late Marcos Varela and Cruzita Martinez.
He was employed as a truck driver for Duran Sand and Gravel. He was an incident commander for the Pecos and Las Vegas district Forest Service. He was a firefighter and a sportsman. He had a good sense of humor and was a family man.
He is survived by his daughters, Koshelle Garcia and Sylvia Varela; one granddaughter; sisters and brothers, Connie Valencia, Lydia Mares and husband Lorenzo, Marcos Varela and wife Inez, Tonie Quintana and Fidel, Sophie Bowles, Bobby Varela and wife Bertha, Michael Varela and Angie, and Jacob (Jackie) Varela, and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Anthony's Church in Pecos with burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Pecos.

ESTELLA ALIRE, 83, of Ojo Caliente died Tuesday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margarito and Amada Alire.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret Sena and husband Antonio of Ojo Caliente; brother, Paul Alire of Pueblo, Colo.; and many other relatives and friends.

AUGUSTIN "TINO" ARAGON, 65, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Tuesday following a brief illness.
He was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to Manuel Aragon Jr. and Edwina Trujillo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. He enjoyed doing carpentry work. He was formerly employed at the Las Vegas Medical Center. He enjoyed reading and playing cards and being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Aragon Jr. and Edwina Trujillo; and brothers, Jose I. Aragon and Gerald Aragon. He is survived by his sons, Paul Aragon of Las Vegas, N.M., and Manuel B. Aragon and wife, Haleah, of Las Tusas; brothers, Lorenzo Aragon of Las Vegas, N.M.; Thomas Aragon of Clovis, and Alex Aragon of Albuquerque; sisters, Anna Aragon of Las Vegas, N.M., Mary Flores of Denver, Priscilla Marinez and husband, Gilbert, of Andover, Kan. and Carla Benavidez and husband, Leroy; special friend, Ruby Aragon; three grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

PETRONILA R. BUSTOS, 86, of Villanueva died Tuesday at the Alta Vista Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Villanueva to the late Luis Bustos and Pablita Romo. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Pablita Bustos; brother, Phil A. Bustos; and sister, Frances Boyer.
She is survived by her brother, Enriquez R. Bustos of Villanueva; sisters, Elis Torres and Apolonia Martinez, both of Albuquerque; nieces and nephew she raised as her own children, Frances E. Bustos, Brenda Chavez and Henry "Hank" Bustos; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva. Cremation will follow Mass with burial to follow at a later date.
