M. CLIFFORD ROMERO, 49, of Vadito died Thursday after a long illness.
He loved to be in the mountains, going for wood and riding his horse. He was a great father to his children.
He was preceded in death by his father, Felix Romero Sr; and brother, William Romero.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Romero; daughters, Marrisa Romero and Sierra Romero; sons, Malaquias C. Romero Jr. and Estevan Romero, all of Vadito; mother, Tillie Romero of Vadito; brothers, Felix Romero Jr. and wife, Mary, of Grants and Alberto Romero and wife, Olivia, of Vadito; sisters, Trina Garcia and husband Ellis of Taos, Merlinda Archuleta and husband, Roger, of Vadito and Cecilia Romero; sister, Rachel Salazar; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at St. Francis de Asisi Catholic Church in Taos. A second rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Peņasco. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the same church in Peņasco with burial to follow at the Vadito Cemetery.

TERESITA SANCHEZ, 81, of Santa Fe died Wednesday.
She was born in Pinos Wells to the late Pedro and Elisa Sanchez. She married Jose C. Sanchez in 1944. She was a fun-loving and enthusiastic person. She had an open heart and a fearless attitude. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Jose C. Sanchez; son, Pedro Sanchez; three grandsons; brothers, Eloy Sanchez, Manuelito Chavez, Toby Sanchez and Ismael Sanchez; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Monday at Berardinelli Family Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the same church with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

MARIA CHRISTINE VELARDE, 89, of Santa Fe died Thursday.
She retired from the Santa Fe Public Schools and since then was an active foster grandparent at Alvord Elementary School. She was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society, VFW, Ladies Auxiliary, World War I Vets Navy Mother's Club president and a member of La Union Protective.
She was preceded in death by her father, Telesfor Velarde; mother, Camila Jiron Velarde; brothers, Vicente and Nicholas Velarde; and sisters, Julia Romero, Grego Martinez and Rebecca Gonzales.
She is survived by her sons, Victor Bustos Sr. and Robert C de Baca Sr. and wife Consuelo; eight grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was an Avon representative for 32 years. Her passion was going to bingo and going to the mountains.

He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 17 of Espaņola.
