CELESTINE (CEL) G. QUINTANA DRAVES of Santa Fe died Friday after a short illness.
She was a graduate of the Loretto Academy. She had retired from the New Mexico Supreme Court where she was employed as secretary to Chief Justices Daniel K. Sadler, Irwin S. Moise, John B. McManus and Thomas F. McKenna. She was a beloved mother, sister and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe F. Quintana; second husband, Carl E. Draves; and parents, Suncion and Pelagia (Baca) Gonzales.
She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Q. Gallegos and husband, Henry, of Santa Fe; son, Alex J. Quintana of Rio Rancho; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; sister, Pearla Parenzan; close cousin, Pita Mignardot; and many other relatives and friends.
A prayer vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the same church with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, or to the Carmelite Monastery.

DOROTEO GARCIA JR., 65, of Santa Fe died Friday after a brief illness.
He was born in Rowe. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the City of Santa Fe, Division of Senior Services after 25 years of service. He was devoted to serving the needs of the elderly, persons with disabilities and children with special needs. He accomplished this through his experience in coordinating and administering programs such as Foster Grandparents and Senior Companion Volunteer Programs, Meals on Wheels, Transportation, Commodities, and Respite Care. He was an avid collector of Mickey Mouse paraphernalia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doroteo and Conferina Garcia; and brothers, Esteban and James Garcia.
He is survived by his children, Doroteo Garcia III and wife, Dawna; Stephen Garcia and wife, Heidi; Tina Garcia, Miguel Garcia, Magdalena Garcia, Gloria Garcia and Rebecca Garcia; seven grandchildren; special companion, Gloria Sandoval; brothers, Jose Inez Garcia and wife Celina, Roque Garcia and wife, Mona; Anastacio Garcia, Charlie Garcia, Tommy Garcia and wife, Roberta, and Gerald Garcia; sisters, Maria Elena Martinez and husband, Jerry; Rita Morelos, Margie Martrinez and husband, Gilbert, and Pauline Garcia; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today with a rosary to follow at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of La Paloma Funeral Home, 1424 4th Street. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

IRENE GONZALES, 79, of Santa Fe died Monday after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Santa Fe, the daughter of the late Abenicio and Josefita Gonzales. She married Faustin Gonzales in 1950 in Santa Fe. She was a member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Faustin Gonzales; daughters, Edwina and husband, Dennis Quintana; Beatrice Garcia, and Olivia Barela; son, Antonio and wife, Eleanor Gonzales; brother, Manuel Gonzales; nine grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday at Berardinelli Family Chapel, 1399 Luisa St. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at noon Thursday at the same church with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

MANUELITA U. GURULE, 86, of Rio Lucio died Friday after a long illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Rio Lucio. She was a member of the Carmelitas and St. Anthony's Parish in Peñasco. She was simple and shy, but very strong willed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernabe Gurule Sr.; sons, Fidencio and Juan Amadeo Gurule; parents, Antonio and Anita Olguin; and brothers, Policrino, Juan Francisco and Teodoro.
She is survived by her children, Loretto Gurule and wife, Susie, of Truchas; Maximo Gurule and wife, Anita; Benjamin Gurule and wife, Gladys; David Gurule and wife, Ramoncita; Andres Gurule and wife, Cecilia; and Orphelita Gurule, all of Rio Lucio, Antonio Gurule of Colorado, Bernabe Gurule Jr. and wife, Cecilia, of Rodarte; Anita Valdez and husband, Gerald, and Rosalie Martinez, all of Albuquerque, Olivama Lopez and husband, Benjamin, of Grants, and Josefita DeDonato and husband, Pasquale, of Virginia; sister, Corina Lucero and husband George of El Valle; 32 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

LYNNE Jones LAZELLE, 66, of Santa Fe died Thursday of cancer.
She was born as Bonlynne Morgan Jones to Bonnlyn Alma Morgan in Miami. Her stepfather was Kenneth Robert Jones. She attended schools in Florida, Alabama, Illinois, and New Mexico. She had a master's degree in biology and in counseling, although teaching was her main profession in the Santa Fe and Albuquerque public schools. She was a lifelong learner whose joy of life and curiosity led her down many paths. She loved to write, travel, enjoy nature, take photographs and most recently created and edited a video of her trip to Africa. She was passionate and deeply cared about the people in her life.
She is survived by her brother, Doug Jones of Santa Fe; daughter, Bonnie (Bonnelyn) and husband John McManus of San Antonio; former husband, David Stein of Albuquerque; and one granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Hospice Center or La Familia, both of Santa Fe. A memorial will be held from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Santa Fe.

ANTONIO J. VIGIL, 80, of Chimayó died Thursday after a long illness.
He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army, Company C, 4th Signal Battalion. He loved fishing and the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margarita Vigil; parents, Celestino and Esquipula Vigil and brother, Trinidad Vigil.
He is survived by his daughters, Irene Roybal, Selina Sally Trujillo and husband, Alfonso, of Chimayó and Gloria Vigil of the family home in Chimayó; sons, Gilbert Vigil and Manuel J. Vigil and wife, Rebecca, all of Chimayó and Celestino Vigil of Española; four grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ramona Garcia of Española, Juanita A. Vigil of Chimayó, Richard Vigil of El Rancho and Joe C. Vigil of Los Alamos; and many other relatives and friends.
Services have taken place with burial at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
