JOSE ELUID LEYBA, 72, of Ojo Sarco died Thursday.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafel and Bersabe Leyba; and brothers, Amarante and Filadelfio Leyba.
He is survived by his wife, Josie; sons, James and wife Rufina of La Mesilla, Anthony and wife Sylvia of La Mesilla and Larry of Ojo Sarco; daughters, Patricia Leyba and Joe of Santa Fe, Elizabeth Orso of San Jose, Calif., and Nancy Salgado and husband David of Goodyear, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Felix Leyba and wife Josie, Epimenio Leyba and wife Socorro and Mary Martinez and husband Felix, all of Ojo Sarco.
Services have taken place with burial at Trampas Cemetery.

RICHARD CARLOS MAES, 55, of Santa Fe died Monday.
He was born in Las Vegas, N.M. to Carlos and Rachel Maes. He graduated from St. Michael's High School and Highlands University. He served in Vietnam in the U.S. Navy as a frogman. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
He is survived by his children, Steve Maes, Mike Maes and Katie Patterson; brothers and sister-in-law, George Maes and wife Anita M. Maes, Lawrence Maes, Charlene and husband Gil Ulibarri; parents, Carlos T. Maes and Rachel Marquez Maes; four grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be donated to the P.M.S. Hospice Center, 1400 Chama Street, Santa Fe, NM 87505.
A visitation will be held at 5 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Cathedral with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

MICHAEL "EL CHAGO" MARTINEZ, 50, of Caņon died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his father, Adolfo Martinez Jr.; and brother, Joseph Martinez.
He is survived by his daughter, Francina Martinez; mother, Virginia Martinez of Taos; brothers and sisters, Kenneth "Shadow" Martinez and wife Rosella, Mark "Med" Martinez, Mary Grace Martinez and husband Frankie, all of Taos, Phillip Martinez and wife Mary Rose of Questa, Francisco Martinez of Las Vegas, David Martinez and wife Crystal of Albuquerque, Rose Marie Martinez and Cynthia Martinez and husband Joe, all of Sacramento, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

PABLO MARTINEZ, 90, of Santa Fe died Saturday after a short illness.
He was a former resident of Velarde. He was a very spiritual person. He especially liked to preach verses from the Bible as well as sing church hymns.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike, Fermin and Canuto; sisters, Josefa Carillo and Aleja Lopez; and parents, Pablo and Ruperta Martinez.
He is survived by his niece, Evelyn Maruska of Velarde; and many other relatives and friends.

VALERIE MCKINLEY of Angel Fire died Saturday of cancer.
She and her husband, Warren, built their home in Angel Fire in 1999 and moved there full-time from Albuquerque in 2002. She had been married for seven years before moving to Angel Fire. She moved to Albuquerque from New Jersey in 1958, with a short stay in Tennessee in the early 1980s. She held a master's degree in elementary education and counseling, and retired from a 15-year career as a counselor in the Albuquerque Public Schools in 1999. She was patient, unselfish, spiritual and a loving friend. She was an accomplished artist and loved painting. Her great passions in life were her husband, children, family, and especially her grandchildren. She had been involved in the United Church of Angel Fire, Church Bible Study, Garden Club and the Library.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stuart Asselin of Albuquerque; and parents, Charles Auer and Helen Reich Auer.
She is survived by her husband; sister, Nancy Hrabal; brother, Larry Auer; sons, Stu Asselin, David Asselin, Timothy Asselin and Matthew McKinley; and daughter, Mary McKinley Robinson; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Two memorial services will be held in her honor, one at 4 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Road NE, Albuquerque and the second at noon Saturday at The United Church of Angel Fire, Angel Fire.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don Edward Oliver.

ROSE ALINE KEIL TURK, 97, of Santa Fe died Jan. 31.
A native of New York, she served her country as a medical technician in the U.S. Army during World War II; taught in a one-room school house in upstate New York; was a graduate of State University of New York Geneseo; was a life-long artist and painter; and had a great fondness for life, people, and their stories.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Joseph Turk; parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Merina and husband Victor of Redondo Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the Ponce de Leon Multi-Purpose Room, 640 Alta Vista. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
