He was a Vietnam veteran.

LORENCITA TAPIA, 63, of Santa Fe died on Tuesday after a long illness. She was employed as a CCD and a home schooling teacher for more than 30 years. She was an active member of Nocturnal Adoration. CECILIA G. GREENIER, 86, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, N.M., died Wednesday at Northeastern Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Delia on April 5, 1917, to the late Jose R. Gallegos and Juanita Casaus. She was married to the late Manuel Greenier. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to crochet, sew and read. She especially loved being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Anthony Greenier; grandson, Paul Baca; and sister, Florencia L. Gallegos. She is survived by her daughters, Suzie Baca and husband Manuel, and Rachel Pino and husband Robert, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; brothers, Raymond Gallegos and wife Sophia of Alamagordo, Joe R. Gallegos and wife Faye from Albuquerque, Joe G. Gallegos and wife Rose from Tuscon, Ariz., and Greg Gallegos and wife Rita from Fort Sumner; sisters, Rosarito Gallegos and husband Benny, Ernestina Sena, and Elsie Gallegos, all of Fort Sumner; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. HERMINIA V. ABEYTA, 82, of San Pedro died Thursday. She was the valedictorian of her Española High School graduating class and graduated from El Rito Normal School. She volunteered as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She volunteered more than 5,000 hours as a "Pink Lady" with the Española Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Santa Cruz Carmelitas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Abeyta; parents, Eliseo Valdez and Josefa de la Luz Montano Valdez; and sister, Olivama Lopez.
She is survived by her children, Valdez Abeyta y Valdez of Santa Fe, Henry A. Abeyta of Albuquerque and Elizabeth Price and husband Craig of Jensen Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; brother, Eliseo Valdez Jr. and wife Josephine of San Pedro; and many other relatives and friends.

ANTHONY VINCENT CHAVEZ, 20, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Monday.
He attended Robertson High School up until the 11th grade and Luna Community College. He was best known for remodeling his own low-rider cars and belonged to the Dreamin' II Reality Car Club. He was employed at the Las Vegas Medical Center and was a delivery clerk for the dietary department.
He is survived by his parents, Jose Garcia and Charlotte Chavez; his companion and mother of his daughter, Felicita Baca; daughter, Amor Cariuna Chavez; sisters, Erica and Katelynn Chavez; brothers, Jose C., Isiah and Christopher Chavez, half sisters, Antionette and Rochelle Gutierrez and her husband Jose of Ogden, Utah; and many other relatives and friends.

EUGENIO GARCIA a longtime resident of Fairview, died Thursday following an accidental fall.
He grew up in Taos and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory after 36 years of service. He was elected a Santa Fe County magistrate judge from 1974 to 1982. He was an active member of La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of Los Padres Assembly 4th Degree and a member of the archdiocese of Santa Fe Pilgrimage for Vocations. He was preceded in death by his parents, Filiberto and Escolastica Garcia.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Garcia of Fairview; children, Eugene L. Garcia and wife Olga of Fairview, Deborah Garcia, Russell Garcia and Yolanda Turner and husband Michael; two grandchildren; brother, Gustavo Garcia and wife Christine of Taos; sisters, Casilda Jaramillo of Taos, Consuelo Martinez of Dixon, Angie Graham and husband Alfonso of Santa Fe; and many other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 2:30-5 p.m. today in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. He was a businessman for many years. He was the owner and operator of Hutchinson Construction and Excavation and also the Española Nursery and Garden Center.
