BENIGNO GIRON, 79, of Pojoaque died Thursday at St. Vincent Hospital.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He worked as a drywall finisher for 47 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Beatrice Quintana Giron, brother, Pete Giron and sister, Margie Giron.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn V. Giron; daughter Margie Martinez and husband, Bennie; son, Leroy Giron; five grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Maestas, Elvira Lujan and husband, Felix; Celia Lujan and husband, Nestor; Rosina Gallegos and Lorraine Abrams and husband, Joshua; brothers, Juan Jiron and wife, Arabella; Arthur Giron and wife, Louise; Benancio Valdez and wife, Stella, Horacio Valdez, Marcial Valdez and wife, Ademia; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in Pojoaque with burial to follow at 1 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

LEROY HERRERA, 18, died Friday.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Montoya Jeantete; and brothers, Feliberto and Bobby Jeantete.

MARTHA WALTER LEBOW, 89, of Santa Fe died Friday.
She was born in Syracuse, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. LeBow.
She is survived by her sons, Edward and wife, Betty Sue, and Reece and wife, Shirley; daughter, Christy and husband, George Croshaw; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

NEMESIA D. LOPEZ, 85, of Santa Fe died Friday after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was formerly of Pecos. She was born in La Cueva, the daughter of Florencio and Marianita Ortiz. She married Juan Joaquin Rivera Lopez at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in 1953. She will be remembered as a loving homemaker and housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan J. Rivera Lopez.
She is survived by her sister, Ruby Varela and husband, Manuel; sons, Chris Lopez Sr. and wife, Darlene; Margarito Lopez and wife, Eva; Blas Lopez and wife, Theresa; daughters, Beva Ortega and husband, Raymond; Mary Ann Nino and husband, Thomas; ten grandchildren; and many other relatives.

JERRY V. "TITO" ORTIZ, 30, of Alcalde died Saturday following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was a new father who loved his baby girl, Jalyn. He was a loving and caring husband, father and stepfather.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arsenio I. Ortiz.

JULIAN EDWARD PENA, 49, of Española died unexpectedly Thursday.
He was formerly of Servilleta. He loved the outdoors, hunting and watching sports. He was a hotshot firefighter and a logger. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle.
