HELEN EMILY ZIMMERMAN BRANDENBURG, 86, of Taos died Monday.
She was born in Paris, Tenn. She first came to New Mexico at age 5 when her father, James Fulton Zimmerman, became president of the University of New Mexico. In 1939 she accepted a Works Progress Adminitration position in Taos where she met her future husband. Her primary focus was on her husband and children, although she found time to be active in PTO, The First Presbyterian Church and the choir in that church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Howard Brandenburg.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs. C. S. Cottle of California; children, James Michael Brandenburg and wife Claire and Elizabeth B. Johnson and husband Clifford, all of Taos and Shari B. Adkison and husband William of Santa Fe; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives.

ROSINA M. GARCIA of Santa Fe died Saturday after a long illness.
She was born Rosina Trujillo. Growing up, she worked at the Lensic Theater and was a member of the Santa Fe Fiesta Queen Court. She married and raised two sons. She was a pioneer in the 1960's, paving the way for women in the brokerage business where she enjoyed a long, successful career. She was involved in preserving Santa Fe history and culture through many years of active association in La Sociedad Folklorica. She was a docent of Rancho de Las Golondrinas and a board member of the Girls Club, Inc.
She is survived by her husband Arthur; sons, Arthur and wife Ethel and Leonard and wife Jennifer; granddaughter Paige; sister, Annie Ewing and husband George; brothers, Dan Trujillo and Anthony Trujillo; special cousin, Phil Trujillo and wife Rosita and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Cathedral with burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

GUADALUPE ORTIZ, 90, of San Juan Pueblo died Friday in Las Vegas, N.M. She was originally from Guachupangue.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Ortiz; son, Alfonso Ortiz; and brothers, Nick Naranjo, Ramon Naranjo and Daniel Naranjo.
She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Medina of San Juan Pueblo and Louisa Montoya and husband David of Los Angeles; brother, Emilio Naranjo of San Pedro; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives.
A rosary was recited Sunday in the Mount Calvary Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. Mass was celebrated Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at San Juan Pueblo followed by a service at the San Juan Pueblo Cemetery.

PALEMON MIERA, 73, of Ranchos de Taos died Friday at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Raul Miera, Eliseo Miera, Jr., and sister Rosie Peterson.
He is survived by his wife, Flossie Miera; children, Pancho Miera and Janice of Espaņola, Harry Miera of Albuquerque, Andy Miera and wife Romaine, Anita Miera, Thomas Miera and wife Theresa, Nestor Miera, Kika Miera and Jeanette Olonia and Johnny, all of Taos; brothers, Felix Miera and wife Delia, Jimmy Miera and Joe Miera; sisters, Cora Rael and husband Alfonso, Margaret Romero and husband Luis, Carla Graham and husband Ruben, and Cindy Jeanette and husband Peter; 15 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

LARRY A. RAEL, 46, of Espaņola died Saturday after a short illness.
He was a former resident of Truchas. He was a DJ and loved northern New Mexico music. He was family-oriented and a loving father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Trancita Rael.

FABIOLA ESTER ROMERO, 69, of Ranchos de Taos died Saturday.
She was born in Talpa. She worked as a teacher for Llano Quemado Headstart for seventeen years and received her bachelor's degree in education from New Mexico Highlands University. She was a faithful servant of San Francisco de Asis Church in Ranchos de Taos. She was a dedicated and loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan G. and Teresina T. Romero; sister, Manuelita Torres; brother, Nelson Romero; and sons, Danny and David Romero.
She is survived by her children, Christine and husband Julian Espinoza, Anita and husband Thomas Zgambo, Ricardo and wife Arlene Romero, Phillip Romero and Lourdes Romero; seven grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jose Romero, Apolonio and wife Barbara Romero, Domitila and husband Salomon Valerio, Elena Romero and Eloy and Rebecca Romero; and many other relatives and friends.

SERGIO VISCOLI of Santa Fe died Thursday.
He was born in Walsenburg, Colo. but spent the majority of his life in Santa Fe. He was a graduate of St. Michael's High School in 1933. "Kid Sergio" boxed as an amateur in the 1930s, but he later quit so he could join the work force during the depression. At age 22, he was one of the youngest managers of the Safeway Store on Galisteo Street. From 1943-1973 he was the general manager/part owner of Fairview Food Store in Espaņola. In 1975 he joined the Bank of Santa Fe as a business development officer, where he retired in 1995. He was an avid tennis player known for his game-winning serve and numerous trophies and was once USTA rated. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and Knights of Columbus. He was famous for his quick wit, humorous stories and wealth of knowledge about Santa Fe history.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; mother, Teresa; brother, Guelfo and sister Stella.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; sons, Jonathan and wife April and David and wife Kim Musser; daughter, Miranda and husband Steve Lipscomb; two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
