Stringfield, Marguerite (Gormley), age 91, died peacefully at home on January 15, 2007 surrounded by her family. She resided in Pompton Lakes for the past 65 years. She was the wife of H.C. Stringfield. Both were employed by American Hard Rubber Co., Butler, where they met and were married
. Marguerite was an avid traveler, having driven to 49 states and all the Canadian provinces. Starting before World War II, she and H.C. took cross country roadtrips in their Model A Ford, and over the years the family grew to love traveling in their custom RV. She was also a dedicated gardener and enjoyed the home in Pompton Lakes where she and H.C. have resided since 1942. In addition to her husband, Marguerite is survived by her daughters, Mary of Glen Rock, Joan of Pompton Lakes and Susan of Highland Lakes. She is the grandmother of Andrew of Pompton Lakes and the sister of Gerald Gormley of North Port, FL. She was predeceased by sisters Helen Pasquerillo, Veronica Gormley, and brothers Arthur and Raymond. Rockefeller, Merle K. (Koch), age 91 of Hewitt, NJ died on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Rockefeller resided in Flushing Queens before moving here 27 years ago. Mrs. Rockefeller assisted her husband, Ralph, in the daily operations of the Thomas M. Quinn Funeral Home in Flushing, NY in the areas of receptionist and cosmetology. She is survived by one son, Carl A. of Hewitt and one grandson, Ralph H. Mrs. Rockefeller was predeceased by her husband, Ralph H. in 1967; a son, Ralph H. Jr. in 1954; a brother, Ernest Koch and two sisters, Marion Pfutterer in 1986 and Ruth Wolf in 1984. Rifenbark, Lenore Mary (LeMasson), 59, on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Hospice of New Jersey in Wayne. She was a member of West Milford Ladies Elks Association. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Laura (Triolo) LeMasson, Mrs. Rifenbark lived in West Milford for 30 years. She is survived by her husband Gerald, two sons, Justin and Kurt Rifenbark, a stepson, Gerald Rifenbark, a stepdaughter, Pamela Cyran, a brother Peter LeMasson, a sister Henrietta and five grandchildren. Palmer, Richard J., 86, of Riverdale, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Chilton Hospital in Pequannock, NJ. He was a resident since 1947. Mr. Palmer was a retired U. S. Army Staff Sgt, serving for 21 years during World War II and the Korean War. Later he worked as an assembler for Edwards Engineering, Pompton Plains He was born in New York the son of George and Catherine (Garrigan) Palmer. Beloved husband of the late Ersilda (2007). Surviving are his brother, Donald W. of Pompton Plains, sister Virginia Berry, many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Palasciano was a resident of Wayne since 1968 and was previously from Garfield. She was a member of St. Mary's RC Church, Pompton Lakes. Beloved wife of the late Frank, (2002). Mr. Myers was an Administrative Representative for Ho-Ho-Kus College of Ramsey, NJ and a member of the West Milford Presbyterian Church. Muller, Ruth H. (Herbst), age 90, a secretary for NY Life, New York City, NY, died Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Oak Ridge Nursing Center in Wayne, New Jersey. Mrs. Muller was previously from Clifton and moved to Wayne several years ago. She was the daughter of Edward and Martha (Gutzwiller) Herbst. Mirrer, John, age72, a retired truck driver for Mirrer's Trucking Company, Paterson where he worked for 40 years, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. Mr. Mirrer lived in West Milford, NJ for 34 years and was previously from Glen Rock. Marchiafava, Victor L. "Vic", 68, a 40 year resident of West Milford, on Tuesday, September 18, 2007. Mr. Marchiafava had been proprietor of Concours Automotive Recycling, West Milford until his retirement last year, having been in business in West Milford since 1965 when he built and opened Forest Automotive. Vic was past President and a 31 year board member of West Milford Rotary Club, a member and past Chairman of West Milford Planning Board, a 25 year board member of Chamber of Commerce of West Milford; he served on the Advisory Board of Lakeland Bank and hosted Christmas parties for children with special needs for 15 years. Surviving are his wife, Jeannette (Finkel); four sons, Albert Christmann of West Milford, Richard Christmann of West Paterson, Victor Jr. and Michael Marchiafava of West Milford; two daughters, Wendy Christmann-Bamper of West Milford and Joananne Young of Jackson, NJ; a sister, Virginia Seugling of Fairfield, NJ; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was born in Caldwell, NJ the son of the late Victor and Josephine (Prestifilippo) Marchiafava. Mann, Violet (Van Dunk), age 92, a homemaker of Haskell, died Monday, January 15, 2007 at the Wanaque Center, Wanaque, NJ. Mrs. Mann has been a resident of Haskell for the past 70 years. Mrs. Mann was a member of the Good Shepherd Church of Ringwood. Surviving are two sons, Lehman A. Sr. of Vernon, CT and Eugene Roland of Haskell; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Jegge, Frances (McDonough), 79, a retired customer service rep for N.J.Bell Telephone, Pompton Lakes, where she worked for 30 years, died Monday, October 8, 2007 at Hospice of Wayne in Wayne, New Jersey. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. Jegge lived in Riverdale since 2002 and was previously from Wayne. Ingram, Gordon Forsyth, 70, passed away Saturday April 21, 2007 after a battle with cancer. He resided in Norwood for thirty five years before retiring and moving to West Milford five years ago. Hakes, Kenneth Frank, age 73, of Stockholm, NJ died Friday January 26, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Hakes was employed by Fire Co. in West Milford before retiring. He was a member of the American Legion Frank Sell Post 289 and V.F.W. Post 7198 both of West Milford. He was an Army Veteran during Korean conflict attaining rank of SGT. Mr. Hakes resided in Stockholm for the past three years and previously lived in West Milford (1972-88) and Staten Island (1988-03). He is survived by his wife Nancy (Owens) Hakes; a son, Kevin Hakes of Dover, DE; and a daughter, Leanne Lawrence of Pompton Lakes; three stepsons, Jack Owens of West Milford, Robert Owens of Barry Lakes, and Scott Owens of New York State; a stepdaughter, Laurie Wallace of Ringwood; a sister, Mildred Kaiblinger of Westwood and ten grandchildren. Gushlaw, Roger J. Sr., age 64, a store manager for Shoprite of Wharton, Wharton, NJ, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pequannock Township, NJ. Mr. Gushlaw lived in West Milford, NJ for 2 years and was previously from Jefferson. He is survived by his wife Frances Ruth (Smith), two sons, Roger Gushlaw, Jr. and Brian Gushlaw both of Jefferson; three daughters, Stacy Lambe of Stockholm, Lisa Kasica of Wallington, and Patricia Shea of Stockholm and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Gushlaw, and his mother, Lucille Soper. He was the son of Cecil and Lucille (Soper) Gushlaw, Sr. He served in the Navy during Vietnam Era (1959-63). Mr. Gormley was a 50 year member of the Masonic Silentia Lodge # 168 F. & A.M., Butler, NJ. Mr. Gormley was a lifelong resident of Butler. He is survived by his wife Dorothy; a son, Raymond E. of Honesdale, PA; a daughter, Dorcas Watkins of Lincoln Park, NJ; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Wilhelmina Gormley. He was the son of Raymond and Alica (Miller) Gormley.
