Charles Robert Leupo

Charles Robert Leupo, 83, of Lopatcong Township, NJ passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at his home. Born: January 20, 1965 in Greenfield, MA to the late Charles L. Leupo and the late Lottie Leupo. Bob has lived in the Phillipsburg area nearly all his life. Personal: His wife of 50 years, the former Leah L. Forrer passed away November 3, 2000. Graduated from Phillipsburg High School, Class of 1942. He also graduated from Churchman's Business College, Easton PA. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Robert was Treasurer and Finance Officer for the county of Warren for 15 years, retiring October, 1994. Before that he was Treasurer and Vice President of the former Phillipsburg Trust Company. He was former Treasurer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg. He also had been a member of the Board of Directors of the Senior Center in Phillipsburg. Robert was a Public Accountant. Memberships: He was a former member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Phillipsburg, Phillipsburg Lodge #52, F & A.M., Scottish Rite, Valley of Central Jersey, Crescent Temple Shrine, Burlington, NJ. Easton Forest #35, Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Survivors: Three Granddaughters, Kimberly, Jennifer and Rebecca. Two brothers, Clifford B and Gilbert B. Bean died earlier. Services: A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at the Rupell Funeral Home LLC, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg, NJ. A visitation hour will be held on Wednesday from 10 am until service time at the funeral home. Memorials: May be made to the Lopatcong Emergency Squad, 1301 Belvidere Road, Phillipsburg, NJ

Loretta Suydam

Loretta Suydam, 88, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the Care Center of Phillipsburg. Born: June 15, 1920 in Holland Township, NJ to the late Samuel Shaffer, Jr. and the late Eva Pursel Shaffer. She lived in Phillipsburg for the last 61 years. Personal: Her husband of 49 years, Harry L. Suydam passed away November 23, 1996. She was a homemaker. Loretta enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved to square dance and was an avid bingo player. Survivors: Son, Donald E. Suydam and his wife, Sheila, of Pohatcong Township, NJ; brother, Carl Shaffer of Matawan, NJ; sister, Barbara Kulp of Milford, NJ; two grandchildren, Dwayne Suydam and his wife, Pamela, of Palmer Township, Pa and Sonya Suydam of Bath, Pa; a great-grandson, Jesse Suydam. Services: Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11am at the Rupell Funeral Home LLC, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg, NJ. A calling hour will be held on Thursday from 10am until service time at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bloomsburg cemetery, Bloomsbury, NJ.

Karen M Miller

Karen M. Miller, 58, of Morris Park, Lopatcong Township, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, Pa. Born: On October 25, 1949 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a daughter of LeRoy Nesbitt of Lopatcong Township and the late Gloria Petrol Nesbitt. Personal: She and her husband, Jerry W. Miller, celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on June 20, 2008. Karen had lived in the Phillipsburg area all her life. She was a retail clerk. For the last eight years, she worked at the Bagel Shack, Lopatcong Twsp., and before that at the New York Italian Bakery in Phillipsburg. She graduated from Phillipsburg High School, Class of 1967. She was of the Baptist faith. Memberships: She was a member of the Phillipsburg High School Band Boosters Club. Survivors: In addition to her father, LeRoy, and her husband, Jerry, she is survived by a son, Dr. Matthew M. Miller of Macungie, Pa; daughters, Lisa M. Mantoni and her husband, William of Phillipsburg, and Jolie N. Paulus and her husband, Robert of Lopatcong Township, and two grandchildren, Alexis and Cade Mantoni. A brother, Richard Nesbitt, died earlier. Services: Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Rupell Funeral Home LLC, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg. A calling hour will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township, Pa. Memorials: Rather than flowers, memorials may be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Lehigh Valley Chapter, through the funeral home, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.

Pamela Jean Kelly Sawran
Born in Dover, New Jersey on Nov. 11, 1959
Departed on Feb. 27, 2013 and resided in Belvidere, NJ.
Pamela Jean Kelly Sawran, 53, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Care Center of Lopatcong, Lopatcong Township, NJ.
Born on November 11, 1959 in Dover, NJ, she was the daughter of Norma Fink Prebor and the late Walter Prebor.
Pam had last worked as a nurseÂ’s aid at the Warren Haven Nursing Home.
Pam had been fond of her dog Midge.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a brother Walter; her first husband, Christopher Kelly and her second husband, Robert Sawran.
Surviving are her children; Christopher Kelly, Tara Kelly and Casey Kelly; brothers, Wayne and Robert Prebor; sisters, Deborah Douthit and Patrice Chirip; many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made to the family to defray funeral expenses, c/o funeral home.

Thomas Earl Anderson
Born in Newton, New Jersey on Jul. 28, 1954
Departed on Feb. 23, 2013 and resided in Delaware, NJ.
Thomas Earl Anderson, 58, of Delaware, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at St. Luke's Warren Campus, Phillipsburg, NJ.
Born on July 28, 1954 in Newton, NJ, he was the son of Robert W. Anderson and the late Flora Mae Johnson Anderson.
Tom had been a self employed carpenter.
Surviving in addition to his father "Andy", are a daughter, Tammy Jean; a sister, Pattie and her husband Ronnie; aunts, Joan, Jewel, Marie and Shirley; uncle, Earl Jr.; nephew, Ronnie; niece, Desiree; many cousins.

David Weissman
Born in Summit, New Jersey on Nov. 19, 1963
Departed on Feb. 14, 2013 and resided in Belvidere, NJ.
Gathering: Monday, Feb. 18, 2013
David Weissman, 49, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at St. Luke's Warren Campus, Phillipsburg, NJ.
Born on November 19, 1963 in Summit, NJ, he was the son of Robert Thomas Weissman and Linda Susan Lockyer Weissman of Long Valley, NJ.
David was a 1982 graduate of West Morris Central High School. He received his B.S. degree in Business from Rutgers University in 1988. He was the president and owner of Precision Graphics, Branchburg, NJ.
Dave was a former member of the Belvidere School Board. He had been active with the Belvidere Youth Athletic Association and had been a soccer coach. He also coached with the Independence Travel Soccer Team.
Dave was devoted to his job, employees and family.
Dave was predeceased by a son, Eric.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife of 23 years, Marybeth Mazar Weissman; two sons, Alec and Matthew; two brothers, Daniel and his wife Cheryl and Eugene and his wife Jamie.
Contributions, in lieu of flowers, are requested to be made in David's memory to the Belvidere Youth Athletic Association.
Even at death, David continues to help others through his organ and tissue donation to the Sharing Network of New Jersey. This is David's gift of life that he may help so many others one final time.

Betty G. Taff
October 5, 1931 - June 12, 2013
Betty G. Taff, 81, of Bushkill Township, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in St. Lukes VNA Hospice House.
BORN: October 5, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Elsie Williams Gentry. Betty was the beloved wife of Donald M. Taff, Sr., with whom she would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on Saturday. Bettys love and joy was her family.
PERSONAL: Betty received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University. Later, she was employed as an executive secretary for Nazareth Machine Works Inc. for 35 years. She was a daily visitor of the Nazareth Diner.
MEMBERSHIPS: She was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nazareth for over ten years.
SURVIVORS: Along with her husband Donald, Betty is survived by three sons; D. Marshall Taff, Jr. and his wife Eileen A. of Danielsville, N. Steven Taff of Bath, and C. Randall Taff and his wife Jo Marie of Bushkill Township; two brothers, Henry B. Gentry and his wife Edith of Phenix City, AL and Thomas W. Gentry and his wife Dyane of Smith Station, AL ; eight grandchildren, Jessica Gentry Regan and her husband David, Grant M. Taff and his wife Marcie, Cory Taff, Dustin Taff, Garrett Taff, Stephanie Taff, Michael Taff and Savannah Taff; and four great grandchildren, Colin Regan, Leah Regan, Gavin Taff and Madelyn Taff. She was predeceased by one brother, Bill Gentry.
SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 am in St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad St., Nazareth, with the Rev. David B. Schaeffer presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday from 9:00-10:30 am in the church. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Memorial Park Mausoleum. Arrangements have been entrusted to Schmidt Funeral Home P.C., 407 Belvidere St. Nazareth.
MEMORIALS: Contributions in Bettys memory may be offered to the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Suite 170, Bethlehem, Pa 18017.

Grace I. Bender
February 19, 1921 - July 20, 2009
Grace I. Bender, age 88, formerely of Stockertown, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 in Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township. Born February 19, 1921 in Edelmans she was a daughter of the late William H. and Elizabeth Minchin Rasely. Her husband, Raymond Bender Sr. passed away earlier. Grace was a homemaker. She graduated from Easton High School and she was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Stockertown Fire Co. She was of the Lutheran Faith. Grace is survived by 1 son, Leonard and his wife Joan of Nazareth, 1 brother Richard Rasely and his wife Barbara of Easton, 4 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Grace was predeceased by 1 son, Raymond Jr., 6 brothers, and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held, on Friday 11:00am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth with the Rev. Charles J. Orem officiatiing. Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday evening from 7:00pm-8:30pm and Friday from 10:00am until time of service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township.

Robert Howering
July 13, 1925 - July 17, 2009
Robert Howering, 84, of Saylorsburg, PA died Friday, July 17, 2009 in his home. Born: July 13, 1925 in Bloomfield, NJ, son of the late Charles and Ann Kage Howering. Personal: He was the husband of Barbara Washburn Howering for 61 years. He lived in Montville for 25 years, and Mansfield Township, then retired in Saylorsburg, where he has resided for the past 9 years. He was an Engineer/Draftsman for Johanson MFR of Boonton for 25 years, then Eaton Corp of Whippany, NJ. He was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, NJ He was a US Army Veteran, serving as P.F.C during WWII from 1943-1946 in the Tenth Mountain Division in the Italian Alps. Memberships: He was a member of the Rotary Club of Montville, NJ. Survivors: Wife, Barbara Washburn Howering, Saylorsburg; Sons, Robert and wife, Beverly Howering, Flanders, NJ, William and wife, Beth Howering, Budd Lake, NJ and Charles Howering, Netcong, NJ; daughters, Janet and husband, Thomas Rohan, New Rochelle, NY and Patricia and husband, John Ritchards, Saylorsburg, PA; brother, William and wife, Deanna Howering, Lake Tranquility, NJ; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters Elizabeth and Maryann and a brother, Walter. Services: A funeral service will be held 10:00AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ . Visitation from 2-4PM and 6-9PM, Tuesday, July 21, 2009 in the funeral home. Interment in Gate of Heaven cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. The Schmidt Funeral Home, P.C., 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, PA is in charge of local arrangements. Memorials: Disabled Veterans or to a charity of one's choice.

Robert F. Gasdaska Sr.
July 10, 1946 - July 22, 2009
Robert F. Gasdaska Sr., age 63, of Hellertown, died unexpectedly Wednesday July 22, 2009 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born July 10, 1946, in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Stephen and Rose Fescina Gasdaska. He and his wife, the former Deborah Kale, celebrated 14 years of marriage. Bob served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He last worked as a shipping manager for Orbel Inc., previously he was the service manager for Gutshall Chevrolet in Hellertown. He also helped with his step-son’s business, Lehigh Valley Aquarium, by making service trips to New England and Virginia. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed fishing in Saucon Creek, fixing riding mowers and spending time with his 3 dogs. Bob loved his grandchildren and especially enjoyed being with them. In addition to his wife Deborah, he is survived by 1 son, Robert Jr. and his companion Nedean; 2 step-sons, Robert Raidline and his companion Kristin, and Michael Raidline and his wife Marla all of Hellertown; 2 daughters, Lisa Malone of Hellertown, and Valerie Remel of Bethlehem; 1 step-daughter, Heather Abdalla of Wilson Borough; 5 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren; and 1 brother. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
