Cleo V. Schalk Sinkbeil
Cleo V. Schalk Sinkbeil, 85, of Lopatcong Twsp., NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2005 in her home. Born: October 21, 1919 in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Charles and Edith Hendershot Schalk. Personal: Cleo is survived by her husband Christopher, and they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on Dec. 25, 2004. She lived in the Lopatcong Township area for 35 years and was a homemaker. Memberships: Cleo was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Washington, NJ, where she was a member of the Alter Guild. She was a volunteer at the Phillipsburg Public Library for many years, and at one time was active in the area Cub Scouts. She and her husband delivered for the Warren County Meals on Wheels program. Survivors: son Christopher Jr. and his wife Maxine of Phillipsburg, NJ; a brother, Herbert Schalk of Washington, NJ, and a sister June Johnson of Washington, NJ; four grandchildren, Dale Sinkbeil and his wife Amy, Donna Tanczos and her husband Mark, Kathy Sinkbeil and Jennifer Sinkbeil; seven great-grandchildren, Justin, James and Julia Sinkbeil, Zachary, Kyle, Matthew and Erik Tanczos Services: Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg, NJ. Heinz Dauble
Heinz Dauble, 80, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at the VNA Hospice Center at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, Pa. Born: On January 21, 1925 in Heidelburg, Germany, he was a son of the late Karl and Maria Ritten Dauble. Personal: His wife, the former Inge E. Mssig, passed away in March of 2000. Heinz was a machine operator for the former Flock Industries in Phillipsburg for 33 years, retiring in 1990. He served in the German Army during World War II. Heinz enjoyed German music, making homemade liverwurst and homemade soups and trips to Atlantic City. He was of the Lutheran faith. Memberships: He was a member of Concordia Maennerchor of Easton. He was also a member of Coplay 5A Engerbund, Coplay, Pa, and the Brown and Lynch American Legion Home Association. Survivors: He is survived by a son, Kenneth H. Dauble of Macungie, Pa; three daughters, Linda G. DeLaRosa of Phillipsburg, NJ, Rose I. Hank of Palmer Township, Pa, Sonja M. Sabella of Washington Township, Pa; a nephew, Wolfgone Dauble of Germany; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Eric, Robert, and Erwin Dauble, all died earlier. Services: Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg, NJ. Emmanuel C. Lutzi
Emmanuel C. Lutzi, 87, of Stewartsville, NJ, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2005 at the Care Center of Brakeley in Lopatcong Township, NJ. Born: On October 14, 1917 in Northampton, Pa, he was a son of the late Israel and Angelina Rossi Lutzi. Personal: He and his wife, the former Clesta S. "Cookie" Stanton observed their 48th wedding anniversary in September, 2004. Emmanuel was a machine operator. He had worked at the Durham Paper Mill, Sunoco Products, Co. in Phillipsburg, NJ, and the American Paper Co. in Alpha, NJ. He was last employed as a custodian at the Greenwich Township School on North Main Street, Stewartsville, retiring in 1985. Memberships: He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Stewartsville, the Phillipsburg Lodge #52 F& AM, Warren County Forest #14 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Scottish Rite, Valley of Trenton, the Bloomsbury Rod & Gun Club, and the Easton Eagles Lodge #111, Forks Township. He was a member of and exempt fireman of the Stewartsville Fire Co., a former member of the Greenwich Township Emergency Squad, and a former SIM Rod & Gun Club. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Clesta, he is survived by a son, Alfred T. of Tempe, Az; two sisters, Mary Ricketts of Palmer Township, Pa, Theresa Leslie of Alpha, NJ; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. A stepson, Charles J. Haycock, two granddaughters, Bunny Bellis and Deborah Hammerstone, a great-granddaughter, Desiree Haycock, two brothers, Jeffrey and Lewis Lutzi, and three sisters, Adeline Wesse Gardner, Jennie Cope, and Esther Wagner, all died earlier. Services: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Masonic services will be held on Monday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Joseph F. Bruneio
Joseph F. Bruneio, 63, of Phillipsburg, passed away Friday, May 6, 2005, in his brother's home, surrounded by his family. Born: September 10, 1941, in Easton, a son of the late Frank and Minnie Aiello Bruneio. Personal: He had lived in the Phillipsburg area nearly all his life. He was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School, class of 1960. Joseph had, at one time, worked in the drill division of Ingersoll-Rand Co., Phillipsburg. He had worked at Toby's Cup in Lopatcong Township for 15 years. He last worked in February. He was of the Catholic faith. Survivors: two sons, Josh J. Stull and Joseph C. Bruneio, both of Phillipsburg; three brothers, George Bruneio, of Coopersburg, Pa., and Arnie J. Bruneio and Jim Falvey, Jr., both of Easton; and a sister, Dolly M. Davis of Williams Township. A daughter, Lori, and three brothers, Anthony, Samuel, and Frank Bruneio, all died earlier. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg. Emily G. Sandt
Emily G. Sandt, 76, of Phillipsburg, passed away Friday, May 6, 2005, in the Care Center of Lopatcong, Lopatcong Township. Born: September 12, 1928 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Raymond W. and Laura Jane Fine Stone. Personal: She had lived in Phillipsburg nearly all her life. Emily was a machine operator for the Dixie Cup Co., later the American Can Co. in Wilson Borough, and the James River Corp. in Forks Township for 49 years until her retirement in 1994. She attended Phillipsburg High School. Emily was of the Lutheran faith. She and her husband, Charles L. Sandt, observed their 56th wedding on January 15th. Survivors: a sister, Susie A. Eldridge, of Phillipsburg; nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Edward, Charles, and Raymond Stone, and six sisters, Erman Berger, Ruth Hodge, Minnie Shaneberger, Dora Rounsaville, Arlene Jennings, and Dorothy Stone, all died earlier. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday in the Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg. Call from 10 a.m. until time of services Thursday in the funeral home. Mary Lou Segreaves
Mary Lou Segreaves, 77, of Mount Pleasant, Alexandria Township, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Easton Hospital. Born: On February 26, 1928 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Clinton A. and Sarah Williamson Woolf. Personal: She and her husband, Marvin R., observed their 54th wedding anniversary on October 22, 2004. She has lived in Mount Pleasant all of her life. Mary Lou was a homemaker. She graduated from Frenchtown High School, Class of 1945. She was an avid collector of antiques. Memberships: She was a former member of the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church where she taught Vacation Bible School. Survivors: In addition to her husband, Marvin R., she is survived by two daughters, Sharon L. Whitehead of Enosburg, Vt, Laura J. Connor of Spring Grove, Pa; and four grandchildren, Leah and Jamie Whitehead, Melissa Golias and Amanda Connor. Elizabeth Mae "Betty" Antonacci
Elizabeth Mae "Betty" Antonacci, 72, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2005 at Warren Hospital. Born: On February 9, 1933 in Easton, Pa, she was a daughter of the late Alonzo J. and Helen Stein Fretz. Personal: She and her husband, Benny R., observed their 53rd wedding anniversary in July of 2004. At one time, she worked at the former New York Italian Bakery in Phillipsburg. Betty was also a homemaker. She attended Easton schools, and was of the Lutheran faith. She was a great mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Memberships: She was a member of the Auxiliary of the Reliance Hose Fire Co. in Phillipsburg, NJ. Survivors: In addition to her husband, Benny, she is survived by two sons, Robert J. and his wife, Karen of Saylorsburg, Pa, Richard M. and his wife, Cheryl of Bethlehem, Pa; three grandchildren, Jolleen Borger and her husband, Andrew of Bangor, Robert J., II of Nazareth, Pa, Jarred of Bethlehem, Pa; and one great-grandchild, Andrea Jordon Borger. A brother, Alonzo J., Jr. passed away in 1972. Services: Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg, NJ. Ira L. Diller
Ira L. Diller, 73, of Forks Township, passed away Friday, May 20, 2005, in Easton Hospital. Born: March 19, 1932 in Hanover, Pa., he was a son of the late Levi and Annie Miller Diller. Personal: At one time, Ira worked for Dean Appliances in Washington, N.J. Later, he worked for 16 years at the former Hoffman-LaRoche Company in Belvidere, N.J. He last worked as Assistant Director of Physical Plants at Rutgers University on the Kilmore and Busch campuses until his retirement in 1997. He was a graduate of Eichelburger High School, Hanover, Pa., Class of 1950, and also attended numerous business schools. He and his wife, the former Anna Mellinger, observed their 52nd wedding anniversary on November 16, 2004. Ira helped to establish the Oxford, N.J. Recreation Association. He was an avid reader. Memberships: He was a member of the Fellowship Church, Morris Park, Phillipsburg, where he served as an elder of missions and was active in many ministries of the church. Survivors: In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Scott, and his wife, Barbara, of Columbia, S.C.; two daughters, Cynthia Keepers, and her husband, Lon, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lynette McKeever, and her husband, Tim, of Harmony Township, N.J.; a brother, Roger, of Honey Brook, Pa., and eight grandchildren. Services: Call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday in the Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Harmony, N.J. Thomas G. Yavor
Thomas G. Yavor, 62, of Lopatcong Township, Phillipsburg, passed away Friday, May 20, 2005, in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born: August 23, 1942 in South Amboy, N.J., he was a son of the late George and Regina Wichrowski Yavor. Personal: He had lived in Lopatcong Township for 32 years. Thomas was a machinist for the Revlon Company in Edison, N.J. for 30 years. He last worked in 1992. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School, Perth Amboy, N.J., Class of 1960. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed billiards, and was a NASCAR racing enthusiast. He and his wife, the former Kathleen Gartieser, observed their 36th wedding anniversary in January. Memberships: He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Woodbridge, N.J. Survivors: In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Allen Michael Yavor, at home; two daughters, Cindy Confalone, and her husband, Mark, of Center Valley, Pa., and Kelly Basile, and her husband, Vincent, of Bethlehem; a sister, Annette Torok, of Fords, N.J., and three grandchildren, Antonio and Olivia Basile, and Michael Thomas Confalone. A son, Steven Yavor, passed away in 1976. Services: 8:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the church, 430 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Colleen V. Bloomfield
Colleen V. Bloomfield, 74, of Easton, Pa, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, Pa. Born: On May 2, 1931 in Newark, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Collim and Mary McCarthy Walsh. Personal: She was the wife of Donald E. Bloomfield. She has lived in the Easton area for 13 years. Prior to that, she lived in Hunterdon County. At one time, Colleen was a secretary for the Tenko Co. in Morris Plains, NJ. She graduated from high school and attended St. Benedictine College in Newark, NJ for two years. Memberships: She attended St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Easton. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #6701, Washington, NJ. She was also a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernian. At one time she was active in the Teamster Union in Morris County, NJ. Survivors: In addition to her husband, Donald E., she is survived by two daughters, Kathleen V. Gutman of Easton, Maureen V. Phelan of Forks Township, Pa; four grandchildren, Steven Gutman, Casey Gerhart, David Darois, and Robert Darois; and a great-grandson, Gavin Gutman.
