Obach, Col. (ret) Ronald M.

Col. (ret) Ronald M. Obach, age 74 of Tinton Falls died June 9 at Monmouth Medical Center after a long illness. After 27 years of military service, he retired as a Colonel from Fort Monmouth, NJ in 1978. Born in Ridgefield Park, NJ he graduated from Ridgefield Park High School in 1947 and the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1952. He earned a Masters in Business Administration at Harvard University in 1960, a Masters of Military Arts and Science from the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas in 1965, and a 1973 graduate of the US Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, PA.

He was predeceased by his father, Philip Obach, his mother, Ina Harper Obach and his first wife, Margaret Rose Obach. Surviving are his wife, Ellen Walch Obach, a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Fred Colson of Clearwater, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Vera Obach, of New Port Richey, FL; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Jack Kaufhold, of River Edge, NJ; two nephews and their families, Stephen and Karen Kaufhold, of Lebanon Township, NJ and Michael and Mary Kaufhold, parents of Caroline and Christian, of Lumberton, NJ; two stepsons, Leon Russomano of Long Branch, NJ and Arthur Russomano and his wife, Marabelle of Eatontown, NJ; a daughter-in-law, Selena Zito; four grandchildren, Ashley Rose Colson, Brian Obach, Dana Russomano and Thomas Russomano.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, corner of Third Ave, Long Branch on Monday, June 14, from 4-8 pm with a service to begin at 8:00 pm. Interment will be at United States Military Academy at West Point, NY with transportation provided. Date and time to be announced. Oberparleiter, Leslie J.

Peacefully at home on April 16, 2005 of Barrington, NJ age 93 yrs. Beloved husband of the late M. Elizabeth (Nee. Dennison). Devoted father of Lee of Delran, NJ and Wayne and his wife Carolyn of San Pedro, CA. Dear brother-in-law of Wilmer Porter of Haddon Heights and Anthony Tumminia of Barrington. Loving grandfather of Donna, Diane, Deborah, David, Gary, Jaclyn, Kelli, Lance, and the late Mark. Great grandfather of Kevin, Nicole, Chelsea, Cory, Sarah, Chase, David, and Benjamin. Great-Great Grandfather of Erianna and Jordan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Gault, Ontario Canada, Mr. Oberparleiter resided in Barrington for over 55 yrs where he was active in youth sports including the Haddon Heights Little League. Prior to retirement Leslie worked as a milkman for over 35 yrs with Savich & Sons Dairy Farms. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Saturday morning from 10am to 11am at the METTS-POPIOLEK FUNERAL HOME, 400 Clements Bridge Road Barrington, NJ where a Celebration of Life will begin at 11am. Occena, Rose

Rose Occena, 67, died on February 19, 2003 at Eastern Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Margate, NJ in 1999. Most recently, Rose worked at La Sammana Hotel in Brigantine and Bally's Park Place in Atlantic City. While living in Philadelphia, Rose worked at many of the finest hotels in center city and the surrounding area. She is survived by one brother, Jose Oxinio of Villa Park, IL, her huge family of friends, and her dear dog, "Sammy". Services were private under the direction of the Radzieta Funeral Home.

Occhipinti, Mary

Mary Occhipinti, age 91, of Long Branch died Monday, April 30, 2007 at home. She had previously owned the grocery store on the corner of Niles Street and Third Avenue in Elizabeth; worked for Acme Leather in Elizabeth as a sewing machine operator; and worked in sales at the Vogel's Department Store, Long Branch. Mrs. Occhipinti enjoyed spending time with her family and great grandkids. She also enjoyed Atlantic City, going 3 times a week after retirement. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Occhipinti in 1999. Surviving is a son and daughter in law, Joseph R. and Margaret Occhipinti of Long Branch; a brother in law, Raymond Proto of Texas; three grandchildren and their spouses, Maria Occhipinti and Richie MacArthur, Joseph and Christine Occhipinti, Paula and James Horniacek; five great grandchildren, Matthew, James, Joseph, Mary and Nicholas; and nieces and nephews. Visitations will be held Thursday, May 3, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third) Long Branch. Funeral Friday, 8:30 from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Odiotti, Marie

Marie Odiotti age 84 of West Long Branch died Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a parishioner of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, and assisted in the new parishioner and baptismal dinners. She was also a member of the Monmouth Symphony League. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Odiotti who was the proprietor of 5 & 10 of West End, Long Branch and the West End Paint Company, and a nephew, Massie E. Odiotti. Surviving are a son, Massie A. Odiotti of New York City; a brother, Thomas Leone of West Long Branch; three sisters, Ann Tenore of Long Branch, Geraldine Mirablie of Middletown and Estherina Leone of Long Branch; nieces and nephews, Frank Odiotti of West Long Branch, Eleanor Onacilla of Ocean, Connie Odiotti of West Long Branch, Rosemary Sherman of Sea Bright, Michael Towers of Eatontown and Gerald Mirablie of Middletown; several great and great great nieces and nephews.

JAMES H. OETTER, of Leisuretowne, Southampton, NJ, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009 in the Our Lady of Lourdes Hosp. in Camden, NJ. He was 80 yrs. of age. Born in Delanco, NJ, he has resided in Leisuretowne for the past 10 years moving there from Haddon Twp., NJ. A retired employee of PSE&G in Moorestown, NJ, Jim retired in Dec. of 1990 after 41 years with the company. He is also a Master Mason with the Beverly-Riverside Mason Lodge #107 and a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Southern New Jersey. He is the Beloved Husband of Maryann (Nee Reeves) Oetter of Leisuretowne, Southampton, NJ and the Loving Father of James H. Oetter Jr. and his wife Carol of Bonita Springs, FL. Ogliarulo, Fred M.

OGLIARULO, FRED M. on June 26, 2004. Age 96. A life-long resident of New Jersey. Born in Trenton on Nov. 3, 1907. He lived there until 1926 when he married Peggy Taylor of Mt. Holly. Survived by his wife of 77 yrs, Peggy of Moorestown, his daughter Peggy Evans of Marlton, a granddaughter Lori Chewkanes and her husband Michael of Cherry Hill, and a grandson Mark Evans of New York City. The son of a masonry contractor, he worked as a stone mason and bricklayer most of his life. He was a 50-Plus Year member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftsman Union Local # 5 for whom he served as secretary for many years. An avid pool player in his younger days, he liked to ballroom dance and listen to Big Band music. OGLIARULO, MARGARET M. "Peggy" (nee Taylor) on December 1, 2004. Age 95. A life-long resident of New Jersey. Born in Mt. Holly on February 28, 1909. She lived there until moving to Merchantville in 1937. Beloved wife of 77 years to the late Fred M. Ogliarulo. Devoted mother of Peggy Evans of Marlton. Loving grandmother of Lori Chewkanes and her husband Michael of Cherry Hill and Mark Evans of New York City. Dear sister of Irene Getlen of Trenton. Peggy worked at Quarter Master Depot in Philadelphia as a seamstress, making shirts for the military for 15 years. Then in 1953 she went to Business school in Philadelphia and worked for Whitman's Chocolate's in Philadelphia in payroll for 16 years. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and listening to Big Band music. Okie, Richard M.

Richard M. Okie, age 60 of Monmouth Beach died Friday January 10, Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

He was born in Bronx, and had lived in Paramus before coming to Monmouth Beach 7 years ago.

He was a police officer for Westwood Police Department for 25 years retiring in 1994.

Mr Okie was a parishnioner of The Roman Catholic Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach.

Predecased by his parents Clement and Mildred O’Shea Okie.

She is the wife of the late Ralph H. Oldfield and the Loving Mother of Joanne & James Warner of Southampton, NJ. She is also survived by her three Grandchildren Jeffrey S. OLDFIELD, on September 23, 2001, Ralph H. of Leisuretown, Southampton, NJ, passed on in the Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, NJ. He was 83 yrs. Born in Phila., PA, he has resided in Leisuretown for the past 3 years moving there from Elizabeth City, NC, Florida, St. Thomas, VI and Sweetwater, NJ. Former owner of Island Marine Supply in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands for 14 years, he sold the business in 1983. Prior to this he served as the manager of General Marine Supply in Egg Harbor, NJ from 1960 to 1969. He is survived by his wife beloved Evelyn K. Oleksinski, Matilda

MATILDA OLEKSINSKI, 97, of ASBURY PARK, died Thursday, Jan. 8. She brought joy to all she touched and will be sorely missed by all of those whose happiness she shared.

Surviving are a sister, Julia Koch of Miami; and two nephews, Thad and Robert Koch.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the family plot at Calvary cemetery in Woodside, Queens. Arrangements are under the direction of the Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin Avenues, Long Branch.

Oler, Virginia S.

VIRGINIA S. OLER, age 86, a long-time resident of Avalon, NJ, died on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Philadelphia and was a summer resident prior to 1965 when she moved permanently to Avalon. She was the Avalon Boro Clerk for many years prior to retirement.

She is survived by two nephews: Robert Stickney and Joseph Stickney, III and two nieces: Virginia Conley and Ellen Jones.

Funeral services and interment are private.

Oliver, Walter C.

Walter C. Oliver, 72, of Cape May Court House, NJ passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2003 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Cold Spring, NJ to the late Irvin and Helen Oliver, he graduated from Cape May High School in 1947. He attended the University of Kentucky and the University of Delaware. After high school, he played semi-pro football for the Cape May Rockets and was a pitcher for a semi-pro baseball in Erma. He entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and was a Korean War Veteran. After the service he became a boat builder for Troth Boats in Erma.

Mr. Oliver retired from the Middle Township Police Department in 1993. He joined the Middle Township Police Department in 1964 as a patrolman. He was a graduate of the NJ State Police Academy. In 1972, he became the first department detective. In 1980, he was promoted to sergeant and in 1983 was assigned supervisor of the Cape May County Narcotic Task Force. He returned to the Police Department in 1984 in charge of the Major Crime Unit and was promoted to Lieutenant in 1992. He received many citations during his career, including the John Edgar Hoover Memorial Distinguished Service Medal from the FBI.

He started the Middle Township Crime Stoppers, which is now known as the Cape May County Crime Stoppers. He was an Instructor of Criminal Law and Arrest, Search and Seizure at the Cape May County Police Academy and the Atlantic County Police Academy.

He was a member of the PBA Local 59, a chartered member of the NJ Retired Officers Association, a past member of South Jersey Investigators, a member of the International Police Officers Association, a past member of the International Police Chief's Association, a chartered member of the Middle Township Ambulance Corps, a chartered member of the Middle Township Optimist Club, a past president of the Cape May County Midget Football League and a coach of the Middle Township Knights Midget Football Team for 25 years, a coach of the Court House Little League Baseball Team, and a member of the American Legion and AARP. On May 4, 1997, he was enrolled in the Chapel of the Four Chaplains, a national award for community service, named in memory of four Army Chaplains who gave their lives to save others.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; six children, Howard of Cape May Court House, Steven A. and wife, Dawn of Swainton, Walter, Jr. and wife, Victoria of Green Creek, Steven J. of Cape May Court House, Douglas of Egg Harbor Township, Karen Howard and husband, Timothy of Cape May Court House; a sister, Helen Hendry and husband, Robert of Oaklyn, NJ; sixteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister and brother in law, Eleanor and Gene Hite of Swedesboro, NJ; sister and brother in law, Irene and Joseph Michalcewiz of Wilmington, DE; brother and sister in law, Raymond and Phyllis Waychunas of Aston, PA; many nieces and nephews; and his almost like a son, David Tomkinson and his wife, Lisa and their four children. He was predeceased by his brothers, Leonard and Richard.

Viewing will be on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Cape May Court House from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Cape May County Veteran's cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to the Middle Township Ambulance Corp, P.O. Box 331, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210 or the Love of Linda Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260.

Oliver, Howard Irvin

Howard Irvin Oliver, 53, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died suddenly on June 3, 2006, at the Mainland Division of the Atlantic City Medical Center. He was born in Cape May Court House, and was a lifetime resident here. He was a retired Middle Township Police Officer after serving twenty five years. He graduated from the Sea Girt Academy on January 28, 1977. He was actively involved in horse shows with his daughter, Meghan, in her riding competitions. He also enjoyed working on his truck, going to the races, and playing Yahtzee. He enjoyed the Boy Scout activities with his son, Michael. He served with the 253rd Transportation Unit of the Army National Guard during the Viet Nam War. He was the proud and loving father of Jennifer (John) Morrow of Belleplain, NJ, Brian (Stacey) of Hatboro, PA, Christopher (Christina) of Cape May Court House, NJ, Meghan and Michael of West Cape May, NJ; loving grandfather to Alexis, Kali, and Kelcie; two brothers: Steven (Dawn) of Cape May Court House, and Walter (Victoria) of Green Creek, NJ; his stepmother: Carol and her children: Steven of Cape May Court House, NJ, Doug of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, and Karen (Tim) Howard of South Seaville, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Grace Haff Brown.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at 5:30 PM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may visit beginning at 3:00 PM. Ollis of Marlton, Nancy Lee Ollis of Cherry Hill and Susan Poussart of West Berlin. Dear grandfather of Sharon & Pam Ollis and Melissa & Daniel Poussart. A veteran of

WW II, Mr. Ollis served in the ARMY Air Corp. He was a Stationary Engineer for 38 years with Exide Battery in Phila. and an active member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Collingswood. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing Friday from 7-9pm and Saturday from 10-11am at the First United Methodist Church of Collingswood 201 Dayton Ave. Collingswood NJ 08108 where a Funeral Service will be held at 11am Saturday. Entombment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill NJ. If desired, the family requests donations in Thomas' memory to the church. Funeral directed by Bradley Funeral Home, Marlton.
