Devoted grandmother of Carrie and Stacy Masters, Allison Whitcomb and Pamela Masters. Mr. Masters was a Veteran of the Army during World War II. He was a Chemical Worker at Kodak in Rochester for many years. He loved motorboating, travel and bowling. MATHEWS, on October 7, 2002, Mary L. (nee Myers) of Marlton, NJ. Formerly of Johnson City, NY. Age 75. Beloved wife of the late Paul Mathews. Loving mother of Nancy A. Amsden of Marlton. Sister of Jane E. Bernhardt of Binghamton, NY. Mary is also survived by her 3 grandchildren Milissa, Leigh and Jeffrey and her 3 great grandchildren Cassidy, Breanna, and Jakob. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM. Mathis, Dorothy E.

DOROTHY E. Mathis, 87, of Cape May Court House, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday in the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Englishtown, she has lived here since 1965. She was a graduate of Highstown High School and attended Trenton State Teacher's College. She married Donald K. Mathis in 1933, raising four children

and celebrated 68 years of marriage on August 31, 2001. She was employed as a substitute teacher in Middle Township School District and also worked as a supplemental reading teacher at the elementary levels. She was a member & active participant of Anglesea Baptist Church, North Wildwood for 15 years, and a pillar of Grace Gospel Chapel in Rio Grande for 36 years. Her contributions as a Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher and Bible Study leader will long be remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Donald K. Mathis, her two daughters, Ruthann L. Pohl of Somerville and Janice Dee Amundsen of Cape May Court House, her sister Phyllis Conway of Martha's Vinyard, MA. Also survived by six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Donald H. & Conrad K. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Gospel Chapel, Rt. 9 & Walsh Ave., Rio Grande, NJ 08242. Relatives and friends may call Saturday 2-3 PM at Grace Gospel Chapel. Funeral Services 3:00 PM. Dorothy's final resting place will be at the Baptist cemetery, Cape May Court House.

Mathis, Stanley S.

Stanley S. Mathis, 88, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at the City Division of the Atlantic City Medical Center. He was born in Stone Harbor, NJ, and was a lifetime county resident. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Thurston Elmer Wood Post 198 of the American Legion and an exempt member of the Middle Township Fire Department. He was formerly employed by the Cape May County Road Department and John Gandy Contractor and retired from the Cape May County Mosquito Commission as an inspector.

He is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Doris M. MacMullan Mathis, and a nephew, Kirk, of Cape May Court House. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Cora Mathis, a brother, Kirk, and two sisters, Ella Stenecker and Alicia Sherwood.

Funeral Services and interment in Fairview cemetery are private at the convenience of his family. Memorials may be made to the Dialysis Unit of Shore Memorial Hospital, 1 East New York Av., Somers Point, NJ 08244.

Mathis, Donald K.

Donald K. Mathis, 90, of Cape May Court House, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2002 in the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House, NJ. Born in North Wildwood, NJ, he has lived in the area for most of his life with a 15 year interlude living in the area of Trenton, NJ. Donald attended the Wildwood school system, became an expert automobile mechanic and was employed by and part owner of Mathis Garage, the family business located in North Wildwood, NJ. Donald was an active member of the Anglesea Baptist Church for 15 years and of the Grace Gospel Chapel in Rio Grande, NJ for 38 years. His faithfulness and contributions as head usher and prayer warrior will be long remembered.

Donald is survived by his two daughters, Ruthann Louise Pohl and her husband, William of Somerville, NJ, and Janice Dee Amundsen and her husband, Phillip of Cape May Court House, NJ; his sister in law, Harper Mathis of North Wildwood, NJ; and his nephew, Gordon Mathis of North Wildwood, NJ. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Donald was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy E. Mathis, and two sons, Donald H. and Conrad K.

Memorials can be given in Donald's memory to Grace Gospel Chapel, Route 9 and Walsh Avenue, Rio Grande, NJ 08242. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16 at 2:30 p.m. at Grace Gospel Chapel, where relatives and friends may call after 2:00. Donald's final resting place will be at the Baptist cemetery in Cape May Court House, NJ.

Matlack, Harold Rexon

MATLACK on July 21, 2003 Harold Rexon. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy (nee Mortimer); a son Richard Matlack of Southampton Twp, NJ; a daughter Virginia E. Bentley of Gurley, AL; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mr. Matlack was born and lived most of his life in the Cherry Hill area. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad for 32 years before retiring in 1972. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Wiley Christian Church, 99 E. Main St. Marlton, NJ 08053, where there will be a Service held at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Wiley Christian Church at the above address.

Matlowski, Lena T.

Lena T. Matlowski, age 94, of Cape May Court House, NJ and a former resident of Frackville, PA, died on December 25, 2009, at Cape Regional Medical Center. She was born in Shenandoah, PA, the daughter of the late Alexander and Adela Gurski Paszkiewicz. She moved here in September.

She was a member of St. Ann's Church in Frackville; St. Cecelia's Choir for sixty years; St. Ann's Guild; Knights Of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary; and sang at the Shrine in Washington, DC. She and her husband of nearly seventy years owned Stanley's Food Store, a grocery and butcher shop, and L&M Sales, an appliance store, for fifty six years.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley W.; two daughters: Charlotte Sideravage (John) of Cape May Court House, NJ, and Diane Corrigan (Thomas) of Pittstown, NJ; a brother: Stanley Paszkiewicz (Mildred) of Kearney, NJ; two grandchildren: Diane (Rodney) Fox, and John (BJ) Sideravage; and four great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by four sisters: Genevieve Chesko, Blanche Emer, Estelle Karpovich, and Helen Colella.

A Memorial Mass will be said on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Of The Angels Church, East Mechanic St. and Garden State Parkway, Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may call 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and another Memorial Mass on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's R.C. Church, Frackville, PA. Interment will follow in St. Casimir's R.C. cemetery, Shenandoah Heights, PA. In her memory, donations may be made to a favorite charity.

Matt, Robert (Bob) Henry

Robert Henry (Bob) Matt of Avalon passed away at home August 27, 2008. Bob was born in Port Carbon, PA Sept. 12, 1917. He is pre-deceased by his mother, Florence McGuire Matt, his father, Robert T. Matt, and his wife, Margaret Connelly Matt.

Bob grew up in Philadelphia. He attended Roman Catholic High School and St. Joseph's University. He served in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II and was employed by Philadelphia Electric Company until he retired. He and his wife, Margaret, raised their family in Roslyn, PA. They were active in St. John of the Cross Parish. In 1974 they moved to Avalon, the town he loved.

Bob is survived by Suzanne Gallagher (Neil), Michael Matt (Carol), Margaret Kindsvatter (Peter), Liz Matt (Steve Mushinski), Ellen Matt, Karin Hunter (Walt), and Laurie Matt (John Cassidy). There are 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Maris Stella, 50th and Dune Drive, Avalon September 5 at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at 9:30. Interment will follow at Veterans cemetery, Cape May Court House. Memorial donations may be made to Fr. Junipero Serra International, 70 E. Lake St., Suite 1210, Chicago, IL 60601 or to a charity of your choice.

Matt, Margaret A.

Margaret A. Matt (nee Connelly), 87, of Avalon, NJ, passed away at home surrounded by her family on February 16, 2008. Margaret was born in New Philadelphia, PA on March 22, 1920. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert Matt and children Suzanne (Neil) Gallagher, Michael (Carol) Matt, Margaret Mary (Peter) Kindsvatter, Elizabeth Matt (Steve Mushinski), Ellen Matt, Karin (Walt) Hunter, and Laurie Matt (John Cassidy). She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, February 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Maris Stella Church, 50th Street and Dune Drive, Avalon. Friends may call at 10:00 a.m. prior to the mass. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret Matt's memory may be made to a favorite charity.

Matta, Marion

MARION MATTA (Nee Weigand), went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2003 at her home in Medford, NJ. She was 74 yrs. of age. Born in Phila., PA, she resided in Medford for 20 years moving there from Cinnaminson, NJ. A life long homemaker, wife and mother, she dedicated her life to her family. She is the beloved wife of Joseph Matta of Medford, NJ, loving mother of Dr. Harry J. Matta and his wife Lynda of Manheim, PA, Cheree M. Albert, RN and her husband, David of Orlando, FL, and Terri M. North, RN and her husband, Tone of Bloomfield, CT. She is also survived by her brother Ferdinand Weigand of Phila, PA, her sister-in-law Connie Springer of Marlton, NJ, her 5 beautiful Grandchildren Noelle, Sarah & Ellyn Matta and Evan & Jesse Albert, and her best friend Helen Dougherty of Phila, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on her birthday, Sunday, March 9, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and again on Monday from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME 127 Medford-Mt. MATTEO, Eva Paletta on December 18, 2007, of Marlton . Age 97. Beloved wife of the late Nicholas Matteo. Loving mother of James and his wife, Shirley of Peachtree City GA, formerly of Medford NJ and Nicholas L. and his wife, Patricia of Marlton NJ. Dear grandmother of Cheryl Lynn Pembleton, Jeanine Lang Jamie Baumer and Kimberly Gadzinski and Great Grandmother of William, Emily and Grace Lang, Ryan and Tori Pembleton, Jordan Baumer and Kacie Gadzinski. She is the sister of the late Casper and the late Louis Paletta. Mrs. Matteo was a resident of Marlton for the past 94 years. She attended Marlton elementary school and saw 4 generations of her family attend the same school district. She had enjoyed a long retirement after working at RCA in Moorestown. She was a faithful member of the Altar Rosary of St. Joan of Arc and the Marlton Senior Citizens Club. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation Thursday from 9-10am at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 and Evesham Rd. Marlton. Mattera, Dorothy S.

Dorothy S. Mattera, 81, of Wildwood Crest, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2001, at North Cape Nursing Center, North Cape May. Born in Wrightsville, PA, she had lived here for 37 years after moving from Sewell, NJ and Drexel Hill, PA. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption in Wildwood Crest. She was the owner/operator of the Mark I Motel and the Sand Castle Motel in Wildwood Crest. She was a member of the Wildwood Hotel/Motel Association and the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce. She taught English, History, and French at Yeadon (PA) High School.

Mrs. Mattera is survived by her son, Christopher, and his wife, Jennifer, of Coraopolis, PA; her granddaughter, Olivia Rose; her cousins, Esther Creamer and Andrew Creamer; her brother in law, Dr. Alfred Mattera of Haddonfield; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William E. Mattera on September 2, 2000, and her son, Mark.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Saturday, August 25, 2001, at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 7110 Seaview Avenue, Wildwood Crest. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House. Interment will be in SS Peter and Paul cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852 or the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.

Mattera, Joseph

MATTERA, JOSEPH, age 86, of Rio Grande, NJ, died on Friday, November 14, 2008, at his home. He was born in Rio Grande the son of the late Joseph and Assunta Yacono Mattera.

Joe owned and operated a masonry business; later a motel and then the Country Liquor Store from 1961 to 1981with his late wife, Rose. He was a member and usher at St. Raymond's Church, Villas and being one of the first families of Rio Grande, he was an active member of the community joining the Rio Grande Fire Company in 1940 serving as chief from 1955 to 1960; a fire commissioner for the Middle Township Fire District #2 since 1970; he was the longest serving member in history of the fire company; a member of the Cape May County Fireman's Aid Association. Joe also was a member of the V.F.W. of North Cape May; the Sons of Italy; and the Wildwood Golf and County Club.

He is survived by a son: Joseph M. III (Suzanne) of Sarasota, FL; a daughter, Diane M. Marshall of Rio Grande; a brother, Henry (MaryLou) of Rio Grande; three sisters: Florence Mazur of Burlington; Rose Futrell of Rio Grande and Palm Davis of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren: Daniel and Claire Mattera and Mariah M. Marshall. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Rose Guida and a brother, Frank.

The Funeral Liturgy will be said on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at 11 am at St. Raymond's R.C. Church, Villas, NJ where friens may visit at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Mary's cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Rio Grande Fire Company, 1120 Rt. 47, Rio Grande, NJ 08242 or St. Raymond's R.C. Church, 25 E. Hudson Av., Villas, NJ 08251.

Mattera, Frank Jerry

Frank Jerry Mattera, age 83 years, was a lifetime resident of Rio Grande, NJ. Frank passed away on Friday, October 5, 2007 at the Crest Haven Transitional Life Center, Cape May Court House, NJ. Frank was born in Rio Grande, NJ to the late Joseph and Assunta (nee Yocona) Mattera. He was a dedicated owner/operator of Frank's Farm Market in Rio Grande for 70 years. He was past member of the Rio Grande Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the State Fireman's Association.

Frank is survived by his five brothers and sisters; Joseph Mattera, Henry and his wife Mary Lou Mattera and Rose Futrell all of Rio Grande, NJ, Florence Mazur of Burlington, NJ and Palm and her husband Don Davis of Jacksonville, FL. Also survived by nine nieces and nephews. Services and interment will be private.

Mattera, Rose

Rose Mattera, 79, of Rio Grande, died on Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at Deborah Hospital, Browns Mills. She was born in New York City and was a lifetime resident of Woodbine and Rio Grande. She was a member of St. Raymond's Church in Villas, the Ladies Auxiliary of Rio Grande Fire Company, and the Wildwood Golf and Country Club. She married Joseph Mattera in 1949. They were the former owners of the Country Liquor Store and Country Motel.

Mrs. Mattera is survived by her husband, Joseph; her son, Joseph Mattera, III of Sarasota, FL; her daughter, Diane Marshall of Rio Grande; her sisters, Helen Heckman and Amelia DeLanzo of Woodbine; her grandchildren, Mariah Marshall, Daniel Mattera, and Claire Mattera; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Monday, June 17, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raymond's Church, Bayshore Road, Villas, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Cold Spring. Donations may be made in her memory to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015; the American Cancer Society, 626 North Shore Road, Absecon, NJ 08201; or St. Raymond's Church, East Hudson Avenue, Villas, NJ 08251.

Matthews, Florence Lillian

Florence Lillian Matthews, 83, of Whitesboro, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2003 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. She was born in Baltimore, MD and moved here in 1943 from Atlantic City. She was a member of St. James Church in Atlantic City, but locally attended the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro and Christ Gospel Church in Whitesboro. She was a housekeeper at South Cape Nursing Home and a foster grandparent for Cape Human Resources.

Mrs. Matthews is survived by her husband, Leon; her sons, Frederick Wallace of Cape May Court House, and Marvin Matthews of Stanford, CT; her daughters, Mary Tuck of Whitesboro, and Caroline Matthews of Brooklyn, NY; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Route 9 and Main Street, Whitesboro, where relatives and friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Household of Ruth cemetery, Whitesboro.

Robert A. Matthews, age 90 of Boynton Beach, Florida former resident, Mayor and ex fire chief of Fair Haven, died Saturday, June 19, 2004 in Florida.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, July 31 at 10:00 am at the Fair Haven Fire House, Corner of River and Battin Rd., Fair Haven, NJ 07704. Interment of cremains will follow at Fairview cemetery, Middletown. Donations are being accepted to the Fair Haven Fire House. Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch is in charge of arrangements.
