George E. Davis
George E. Davis, 82, of Palmer Township, died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 in his home.
He was a chemical worker at J.T. Baker Chemical Co., in Phillipsburg for 39 years, retiring in 1986.
Born August 3, 1921 in Scranton, Pa., he was a son of the late William H. and Louise R. Weisel Davis.
He was a former corporal in the Army and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He attended the Central Assembly of God Church in Bethlehem, Pa.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 724 in Wind Gap and the Safety First Fire Co. in Palmer Twp.
His wife of fifty one years, the former Moselle M. Schweitzer died earlier.
Survivors include two son, Robert G. of Indianapolis, Indiana and Mark C. of Allentown; four daughters, Jeanne L. Wach of Nazareth, Cynthia K. Beck of Phillipsburg, Linda A. Case of Palmer Twp. and Nancy M. Bracken of Forks Twp. and 15 grandchildren who he cherished, Kristi, Rebecca, Lauren, Hunter, Amsi, Jarrett, Sherri, Lori, Chad, Joshus, Garry, Paul, Holly, Jeffrey and Erik.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the Wind Gap cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Moselle M. Davis
Moselle M. Davis, 70, of Palmer Twp., formerly of Phillipsburg and Forks Twp., died Tuesday, November 12, 1996 in her home.
Born November 12, 1926 in Nazareth, she was the daughter of the late John and Aldine Danner Schweitzer.
She and her husband, George E. Davis observed their fifty-first wedding anniversary July 10.
She was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Robert G. Of Indianapolis, Indiana and Mark C. Of Bethlehem; four daughters, Jeanne L. Wach of Nazareth, Cynthia K. Beck of Phillipsburg, Linda A. Case of Palmer Twp. and Nancy M. Bracken of Wilson; one brother, John C. of Nazareth; two sisters, Vinonna Jackson of Nazareth and Aleene V. Hiltman of California; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by one sister, Elizabeth Niblett and one grandson, Christian Case.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Interment will be in the Windgap cemetery , Plainfield Twp., PA. A calling hour will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday until time of services in the funeral home.

Norman Wesley Davis
Norman Wesley Davis, 73, of the Heckman House, Phillipsburg, died Saturday, October 11, 1997 in his home.
He retired in 1989 as a Security Guard at the US Naval Airbase in Keywest Florida.
Born April 24, 1924 in High Bridge, NJ, he was the son of the late Lester J. and Myrtle Seal Davis.
He was in the Navy from 1945 to 1952, having served on the U.S.S. Leary. He was awarded the American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, European-African Mid-East Campaign Medal, World War Two Victory Medal, Navy Occupational Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a former member of the High Bridge Reformed Church, High Bridge, NJ.
His wife, the former Betty Jean Cook died in December of 1972.
He is survived by a son, Allen of Phillipsburg; a daughter, Deborah M. Johnson of Breinigsville, PA; a sister, Betty Philhower of Bunnvale, NJ; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Private cremation services will be held at the convenience of the family. Graveside services and interment of the cremains will be in the Evergreen cemetery , Clinton, NJ. at a later date. There will be no calling hours.

Stacey R. Davis
Stacey R. Davis, 33, of Phillipsburg, passed away Monday, February 26, 2007 at her home in the arms of her long-time companion, Dorian Paschal.
Born July 13, 1973 in Easton, Pa., she was a daughter of Raymond Davis of Mertztown, Pa., and Sandra Mutter Davis Stasak and her husband Woody of Florida, formely of Harmony Township, NJ.
Stacey was a 1991 graduate of Wilson Area High School, Wilson Borough.
In addition to her parents and companion, Dorian, Stacey is survived by a son, Talon Blackhawk of Arkansas and a daughter, Cassandra Guidry of Florida; a brother, Raymond Davis and a sister, Cheri Guidry, both of Florida and a caring aunt and uncle, Gerald Mutter and Sharon Scrafano.
Funeral arrangements are private, under the direction of the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ.
Earle S. Deats
Earle S. Deats, 93, of Pohatcong Twp., died Friday, May 20, 2005 in the Masonic Home of New Jersey, Burlington, NJ.
He worked at Ingersoll-Rand, Cameron Pump Division in Phillipsburg for 43 years where he was a toolmaker before retiring in 1974.
Born April 7, 1912 in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late Samuel and Annie F. Cole Deats.
He graduated Easton High School in 1930.
He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Easton.
He was a member of Phillipsburg Lodge 52, Free and Accepted Masons, where he once served as Tyler and was a former member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He was a long-time bowler at Warren Lanes, was a charter member of the Huntington Fire Company in Pohatcong Twp. and was a founder of the Pohatcong Twp. Playground League.
His wife of fifty-six years, the former Gertrude L. O'Conner died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Robert E. and his wife Ann of Cinnaminson, NJ; daughter Kathleen L. Oettel and her husband Paul of Chesapeake, VA; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two half-brothers, Walter Wallace and Joseph Deats and two half-sisters, Susan Wallace and Elizabeth Deats, all died earlier.
Masonic services will begin 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Phillipsburg, followed by funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran cemetery , Greenwich Twp., NJ. .

Joseph P. Deemer, Jr.
Joseph Paul Deemer, Jr., 50, of Pohatcong Twp., died Tuesday, March 26, 2002.
He was a senior case worker for the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services in Washington for 25 years.
Born July 31, 1951 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of Gloria Bisanti Deemer Lance of Pohatcong Township and the late Joseph P. Deemer, Sr.
He graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1969 and from Trenton State College in 1973.
He was a former volunteer for Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Warren County for many years. He enjoyed collecting various items, such as comic books and Czechoslovakian pottery.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, John Deemer of Pohatcong Township and Walter Lance, Jr., of Easton; three sisters, Cindy Lance of Pohatcong Township, Brenda Lance of Phillipsburg and Tammy Nolan of Stockertown, Pa. and nieces and nephews. A step-father, Walter N. Lance, Sr., died earlier.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the arrangements.

Anthony J. "Tony Dee" DeFrancesco
Anthony J. "Tony Dee" DeFrancesco, 82, of Phillipsburg, died Monday, November 15, 1999 in Easton Hospital in Wilson Boro, Pa.
Tony earned his barbers license in 1934 during his junior year at Easton High School. After graduating high school in 1935, he worked as a barber until 1941. From 1945 to 1955, he worked in the cutting room of the former M.M. Bernstein & Sons Garment Factory in Phillipsburg. In 1955, he returned to his barber trade working for area barbers, including Mike and Sam Frinzi in Phillipsburg. In 1959, Tony began his own barbershop, known as Dee's Barber Shop, which he operated from his home for the past 40 years.
Born February 18, 1917 in Easton, he was the son of the late Carmen and Mary Vulcano DeFrancesco.
He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church in Phillipsburg, where he was a past president of the Holy Name Society. He was also a charter member of the Serra Club of Warren County which is a Catholic organization who's mission is to promote vocations to the priesthood, deaconate and religious life.
Tony is perhaps best known in the Phillipsburg area for his twenty-nine years of dedication to organizing the annual Phillipsburg Day at Veterans Stadium. As the founder and chairman of the event, Tony was responsible for organizing the school bands and choirs, little league all-star teams, bus transportation and thousands of Phillipsburg area residents for the trip to Veteran's Stadium in Philadelphia each year. During the 1980 baseball season, the year when the Phillies won the World Series, Tony was instrumental in taking more than 1,700 people on more than twenty buses to the event. In addition to Phillipsburg Day, Tony organized several bus trips for his loyal Phillies fans each year to see the Phillies.
In 1942, Tony entered the U.S. Navy where he attained the rank of Sonar Man Second Class on the USS Marts in the Southern Atlantic Ocean, and had earned the World War Two Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the African European Middle Eastern Medal. Having received an honorable discharge from service in 1945, Tony returned home and later joined the Bernardine-May American Legion Post 457 in Phillipsburg, where he has been a devoted member for nearly 40 years. Tony's dedication to the Legion was evident in the fact that in the nearly 40 years of his membership in the Legion, he had served as a past commander and had never missed marching with his fellow comrades in the annual Memorial Day Parade in Phillipsburg.
Tony enjoyed being active, and when he wasn't giving haircuts and attending baseball games, he enjoyed his weekly rounds of golf, bowling, gardening, taking walks and exercising.
He was also a member of the Order of Flea's in Easton.
While he was working for Bernstein's, Tony met Mary Bianco, who later became his wife on July 3, 1948. Tony and Mary observed their 51st wedding anniversary July 3rd. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah D., wife of James Wyant of Forks Township, Pa, a granddaughter, Leah Rachelle Wyant and a grandson, Michael Anthony DeFrancesco Wyant. A brother, Placido F. "Pat" DeFrancesco and two sisters, Grace Schrio and Felicia Haffner all died earlier.
Funeral services will be held 10:15 a.m. Saturday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Corona at 10:45 a.m.in St. Philip and St. James Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Entombment will take place in Holy Apostles Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp., NJ. Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Mary B. DeFrancesco
Mary B. DeFrancesco, 92, of Forks Township, formerly of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 in St. Luke's Hospice, Lower Saucon Twp.
Born December 15, 1914 in Harmony Township, she was a daughter of the late Gaetano and Rose Maranara Bianco.
She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church; Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Warren #389; she volunteered for the Junior Catholic Daughters; was a past president of St. Philip and St. James Elementary School PTA, she played cards in several card clubs and greatly enjoyed gardening in her back yard.
Mary met her husband of fifty-one years, the late Anthony J. "Tony Dee" DeFranceso, while they both worked at the former M.M. Bernstein & Sons Garment Factory in Phillipsburg. As a devoted wife, Mary supported her husband in his many religious, civic and fraternal organizations and supported him in the operation of "Dee's Barbershop" from their home on Schultz Avenue. Mary also helped Tony to organize "Phillipsburg Day at the Vet" for twenty-nine years until his death in 1999.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Deborah D. Wyant and her husband James of Forks Township; a granddaughter, Leah Rachelle Weikel and her husband Matthew and a grandson, Michael Anthony DeFrancesco Wyant. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild next month. She was predeceased by four brothers, Louis, Carmelo, Carl and Joseph and two sisters, Stebastiana Marina and Catherine Middei.
Services will begin 9:00 a.m. Monday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Entombment will be in Holy Apostle's Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Natale G. DeMonti
Natale G. "Nat" DeMonti, 77, of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, July 30, 2000 in Warren Hospital.
He worked in the Turbo Division of Ingersoll-Rand Co., for 43 years before retiring as an expediter in 1984.
Born December 25, 1922 in Martins Creek, Pa, he was the son of the late Antonio and Giovina Coccia DeMonti
He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, where he was also a member of the Holy Name Society and the Over Fifties Club. He was also an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 474, Phillipsburg.
He was a member of the Order of Fleas in Easton and the Modicana Beneficial Circle.
He was a member of the Class of 1941 of Easton High School.
He and his wife, the former Josephine Tona observed their 53rd wedding anniversary September 1.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Anthony, Sr., of Stafford, VA, Michael of Phillipsburg; Two daughters, Theresa Kinnaman of Bangor, Pa and Mariann Reddington of Bethlehem Twp., Pa.; four sisters, Ilda DiFelice and Mary DeMonte, both of Martins Creek, Pa., Sister Maria DeMonti, O.P. Dominican Order, Our Lady of Assumption Parish, Latham, NY and Dora Lushis of Bethlehem Twp., Pa.; eight grandchildren, Anthony, Jr., Angela, Joseph and Catherine Jane DeMonti, Gerald and Martin Kinnaman, John Fortunato and Sean Reddington and two great grandchildren, Taylor and Trevor DeMonti. Two sisters, Lena and Armena died earlier.

Robert Dempsey
Robert Dempsey, 45, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, May 4, 2007 in Phillipsburg.
Born July 19, 1961, he was a son of the late Charles and Maude Fisher Dempsey.
Robert is survived by his wife, the former Wilma J. Anthony, a son, Robert and a duaghter Mallory, both of Phillipsburg; three brothers, Charles of Titusville, NJ, Ronald of Easton and John of Bethlehem; a sister, Joann McQueen; six grand children and 1 great-granddaughter and a step-daughter, Dawn Campbell.
Services will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Visitation will be held 6:00 until time of services Thursday in the funeral home.
Robert R. Dicker
Robert R. Dicker, 54, of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, March 6, 1994 in his home.
He was an outside sales representative with Crowder Jr., Co., Bethlehem, PA for 33 years.
Born May 2, 1939 in Easton, he was the son of Elizabeth G. (Ganal) Dicker and the late Raymond L. Dicker.
He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church in Phillipsburg. He was a past president of the Glendon Lion's Club; was a life member of the Order of Fleas and the Citizen's Hose Co., both in Easton and was a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club, Inc. South Bend Indiana.
He was an E-4 in the U.S. Army from July 17, 1958 to July 16, 1964. He earned two Marksman's Badges and received the Good Conduct Medal.
He and his wife, the former Betsy Casey were married
31 years in June.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Edward R. of Easton; two daughters, Valerie E. Lempka of Easton and Eileen C. at home; one brother, Edmund P. of Kunkletown, PA a grandson, Andrew Lempka and a granddaughter, Casey Lempka. A sister, Eileen died earlier.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m Wednesday, from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:45 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James R.C. Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the Durham Lutheran cemetery , Durhap, PA. Calling Hours will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Ruth M. Diehl
Ruth M. Diehl, of Phillipsburg, died Saturday, August 30, 1997 in Warren Hospital.
She was a former elementary school teacher in the Phillipsburg School District.
Born in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Edith Haley Beckwith.
She and her husband, George M. Diehl observed their fifty-eighth wedding anniversary last September 24.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Easton.
She was graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1931 and from Wilson College, Chambersburg, PA inn 1935.
She was a member of the Wilson College Club and the University Women of Easton.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Phyllis E. Garverich of Churchville, PA, Marilyn R. Morris of Palmer Twp. and Arlene R. Diehl of Phillipsburg and four grandchildren. A brother Alfred died earlier.
Private cremation will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no services or calling hours. Burial will be in Hay's cemetery , Easton. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the arrangements.
