Lassor, Robert O.

Robert O. Lassor, 83, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Crest Haven Nursing Home. Born in Louisville, KY to the late Edward Israel Lassor and Emma Kathleen (Minton) Lassor, he moved here in January of 1999 from Levittown, PA. He went to trade school for electronics, air conditioning, and electrical work. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was an RV enthusiast and traveled to 48 states.

Mr. Lassor is survived by his wife, Patricia M. (nee Pierson) Lassor; his children, Patricia A. Caputa and her husband, Peter III of New Hope, PA, Kathleen V. Chirico and her husband, Gary of Langhorne, PA, Anna Carol Abbatiello and her husband, Louis of North Wildwood, Michele M. Monks and her husband, Leonard Jr. of Levittown, PA, Linda Ellen Knoblauch and her husband, Thomas of Otts, PA, Robert A. Lassor and his wife, April of Cape May Court House, Elaine Marie Culpepper and her husband, James of Levittown, PA, and Carl Jacob Lassor and his wife, Allison of Newark, DE; his 26 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew R. Lassor.

Funeral Mass will be said on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, Garden State Parkway and East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in Resurrection cemetery, Bensalem, PA. Lathers, Marjorie B.

Marjorie B. Lathers, 91, of Dennisville, NJ, got her wings and flew away to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from the Court House Convalescent Center. She was born in Dennisville on September 10, 1918, graduated from MTHS in 1936, was a nanny in Maple Shade, NJ and Alexandria, VA, and married Arthur E. Lathers in Washington, DC on January 15, 1944. She lived the rest of her life in Dennisville.

She was very active in the Dennisville United Methodist Church, became a member in 1934, served as President of Dennisville PTA, Ladies Auxiliary of Dennis Volunteer Fire Company, 32 years as Treasurer, a Member of Cape May County Historical and Geneology Society, Dennisville Historical Homeowners Association, Dennisville School House Museum, and the Middle Township Alumni Association. Pretty good for someone who was legally blind all her life!

She was predeceased by her husband Art in 2006 and her sister Frances Walizer in 2007.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Springer of CMCH; her three children, all of Dennisville, Judith Grace (Robert), William Lathers (Erika), and Arthur Lathers, Jr. (Margaret); eight grandchildren: Jeffrey Grace (Lori) of Mays Landing, Timothy Grace (Janie) of South Seaville, Lisa Porter of Big Island of Hawaii, Karen Lathers of Long Branch, Carol Golley (J.R.) of Egg Harbor Twp., Arthur Lathers III (Elizabeth) of Wareham, MA, Christine Stanford (Graig) of Petersburg, Randy Ryerson (Diana) of Downingtown, PA; nine great grandchildren: Parker Grace, Melissa, Craig, and Robin Grace, Andrew Golley, Liam and Maeve Stanford, and Michael and Celia Ryerson.

Celebration services will be Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Dennisville United Methodist Church, 134 Main Street, Dennisville, NJ 08214 at 1:00 p.m., preceded by the viewing from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Marjorie requested that donations be sent to Dennisville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 203, Dennisville, NJ 08214 or Gideons International, Cape May County Camp, P.O. Box 638, Marmora, NJ 08223.

Lathers, Sr., Arthur E.

Arthur E. Lathers, Sr., 92, of Dennisville, died on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Randall, NY to the late Edward and Florence (Darrow) Lathers, he moved here in 1945 after serving in the Army during World War II. He was a retired carpenter and then worked at Pine Haven Campground in Ocean View for 16 years. He was a member of the Dennis Volunteer Fire Company for 35 years, the Dennisville Historical Homeowners Association and Dennisville School House Museum. He was a member of the Dennisville United Methodist Church since 1965 and served as a trustee for many years.

Mr. Lathers is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie (Bushnell) Lathers; his children, Judith Grace, William Lathers, and Arthur Lathers, Jr., all of Dennisville; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dennisville United Methodist Church, Main Street, Dennisville, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Union cemetery, South Dennis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dennisville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 142, Dennisville, NJ 08214.

Latona, Thomas J.

LATONA,, on December 18, 2001, Thomas J. of Mt. Laurel, NJ. Age 50. Tom devoted his time and passion for life to his family and friends. Those who knew him, realize that if Tom wasn't playing in a game he was attending or coaching someone else's. . Beloved husband of Amy (nee Licitra). Loving father of Dana, Matt, and Alli, all of Mt. Laurel. Brother of: James of Oak Ridge, NJ, Frank of Piermont, NH, Joseph of Saddle Brook, NJ, Patricia, of Lake Hiawatha, NJ, Marianne Ippolito of Newton, NJ, Donna of Newfoundland, NJ, and Margaret, of Saddle Brook, NJ. Lattanzibaird, Margaret

Margaret (Margie) Lattanzibaird, 57, wife of the late John F. Baird, of Wildwood Crest, went home to be with Jesus on December 6, 2007.

Margaret was born in Abington, PA, and has been a Wildwood Crest resident since 1987. She was employed by the Federal Government at the FAA for the last seven years and worked as Property Tech, Delegate for Richard Boe, Robert Half Information Technology office.

Margie was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cape May, where she served in the Healing room and Ladies ministries. Her life-long passion was to serve and worship her Lord Jesus and reach out to lost people. She enjoyed writing poetry and playing Scrabble. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, church family of the First Assembly of God Church, and prayer group friends from the FAA.

She is survived by two sons: Dominic D. Lattanzi and his wife, Vera, and William R. Baird and his wife, Nancy; two grandchildren (Nona's Bambinos), Evan W. Baird and Elijah W. Baird; two sisters, Donna Tomaszewski and Lisa O'Toole; two brothers in law, Peter Tomaszewski and Brian O'Toole; and nieces and nephews, Brian, Angie, Lisa and Sean.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 1068 Seashore Road, Cape May, NJ. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery, Cape May Court House. Memorial donations may be made to Margie's grandchildren at any Commerce Bank for an account being established in the Cape May Court House branch.

Latteri, Anthony B.

Anthony B. Latteri, age 77 of Long Branch died Sunday, May 28, 2006 at his daughter's home in Fort White, Florida. Mr. Latteri was an engineer for Bendix Corporation, Eatontown for 30 years retiring in 1994 and a member of I.B.E.W. Locals 358, 400, 456 and 568, Newark. He graduated from Long Branch High School and Monmouth College, West Long Branch in 1956. He was a member of the Long Branch Seniors and a parishioner of St Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch, where he was an usher for 18 years. He served his country honorable in the US Navy. Born in Manhattan, he had lived in Red Bank before moving to Long Branch.

Surviving is his wife, Rose Stanieri Latteri; a daughter and son in law, Rosalie and Tony Gonzales, Fort White, Fla; 2 sons and a daughter in law, Michael and Mary Latteri, West Long Branch; Benedict Latteri, Long Branch; 2 sisters, Josephine Morales, Warren; Ann Liquori, Denville; and 6 granddaughters, Ashley, Neva, Toni, Christine, Michelle, and Jennifer.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 7, from 2-4, 7-9 pm from the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. on the corner of Third Ave., Long Branch. Funeral Thursday, June 8, at 9:30 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Michael's RC Church, West End at 10:30 am. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested Haven Hospice, 618 SW Florida Gateway Drive, Lake City, Florida 32024.

Latteri, Rose Stranieri

Rose Stranieri Latteri, age 72 of Long Branch died Friday, February 9, 2007 at her daughter's home in Ft White, Florida. She was an operator with Bell Telephone, Red Bank before working as a communication operator for Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a parishioner of St. Michael's RC Church, West End, and a member Long Branch Seniors. Born in Long Branch, she was a life resident.

Rose was predeceased by her husband, Anthony B. Latteri in May of 2006.

Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Rosalie and Tony Gonzales, Ft White, Fl; 2 sons and a daughter in law, Michael and Mary Latteri, West Long Branch; Benadict Latteri, Long Branch; a brother, Salvatore Straniere, Long Branch; 2 sisters, Josephine Scataglia, West Long Branch and Dianne Fierro of Long Branch and six granddaughters, Ashley, Neva, Toni, Christine, Michelle and Jennifer.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 16, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue, corner of Third Ave, Long Branch. Funeral, Saturday, February 17, at 9:30 am from the funeral home with a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael's RC Church, West End. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Havens Hospice, 618 SW Florida Gateway Drive, Lake City, Florida 32024.

Lattimer, Jr., Clyde N.

LATTIMER, Clyde N., Jr. was born into eternal life on February 10, 2007 with his family surrounding him. He was of Marlton NJ and Pompano Beach FL. Age 67. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Barbara A. Lattimer (nee Smith) and his loving children, Scott and his wife, Janet of Medford, Kim and her husband Tim of Marlton, Jody and her husband, Kevin of Berlin and Sheri, also of Berlin. He is also survived by 6 dear grandchildren, his mother, Christine, and siblings, Lucille, Gale and Gary. Mr. Lattimer was born in Waverly NY and served in the US Air Force. He was a General Contractor working up and down the East Coast. For the past 24 years, he has owned Clyde N. Lattimer and Son Construction of Berlin. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday from 6-9pm at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 and Evesham Rd. Marlton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 10am at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church Evesboro-Medford & Elmwood Rds. Marlton. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clyde's memory to the charity of your choice.

Lauder, Frances

Frances Lauder, 95, of Dennisville, NJ, died on Wednesday, December 25, 2002, at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House, NJ. She was born in Dennis Township, NJ, and was a lifetime resident here. She was a retired seamstress for the Feit and Sapphire Clothing Companies in Woodbine, NJ. She was a member of the Eldora Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons: George Walter Hartem and his wife, Addine Isabella of Dennis Township, and Samuel Hartem and his wife, Nancy of Dividing Creek; step daughter: Marie Chester of North Wildwood; sisters: Helen Noblett of Millville and Nellie Hess of Belleplain; twelve grandchildren, and several great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Samuel Hartem and Frank Lauder; a daughter: Nadia Bishop; and two sons: Edward and Alexander Hartem.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2002, at 2:00 PM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210, where friends may call at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in the Eldora Methodist cemetery, Eldora, NJ. Memorials may be made to the Eldora Methodist Church.

Laughlin, Brian J.

Brian J. Laughlin, 49, of Belleplain, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Sea Isle City, he was a lifetime resident of this area. He was a toll collector on the Garden State Parkway. He attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Crooked Horn Gunning Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Laughlin is survived by his two children, John of Belleplain and Sarah of Spring Hope, NC; his parents, Edward and Natalie (Stanle) Laughlin of Belleplain; his brother, Frank and his wife, Mary of Belleplain; and his two nephews and one niece.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Seaville Methodist cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Georgetown University Hospital Foundation with Department of Neurology in the memo and mailed to Office of Philanthropy, Georgetown University Hospital, H ospital Administration, 3800 Reservoir Road, Washington, D.C. 20007.

Laughlin, Donald J.

LAUGHLIN, Donald J. on October 9, 2004, of Voorhees formerly of Somerdale. Age 72. Beloved husband of Patricia A. Laughlin (nee Mason). Loving father of Deborah Anne DeRosa and Stephen J. Laughlin, both of Washington Twp. NJ. Dear brother of Patricia (William) McQuaide. Cherished grandfather of Danielle, Nicole and Ashley and great grandfather of Dylan. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law; George (Karol) Mason Jr., James (Maryanne) Mason, Gary Mason, Kathleen Schwarz, Eleanor (Richard) Marano, Barbara (Richard) Capone and Karen (John) Watson. Born and raised in Camden, Donald was a veteran of the US NAVY serving during the Korean Conflict and he was a self employed Mortgage Executive for over 30 years. Lawrence, Dolores M. (nee Reardon) On April 15, 2009. Of Cherry Hill, NJ. Age 87. LAWTON, on March 17, 2002, Lawrence John of Voorhees, NJ. Formerly of Collingswood, NJ. Age 58. . John was a Veteran of the U. S. AIRFORCE and was also a member of the Mayflower Society. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Hamilton). Step-father of Thomas Hunter of Newark, DE and Debra Ready of Litiz, PA. Brother of Robert Lawton of Chapel Hill, NC and Barbara Sponible of Binghamton, NY. Also surived by his 6 step-children: Frank, Jennifer, Tom, Lexy, Alexander, and Rebecca, and many loving nieces and nephews. Layre, Dorothy E.

Dorothy E. Layre, age 82, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Sunday, October 25, 2009.

She was born in Montgomery County, PA and was an area resident for sixty years. She and her late husband, Horace P. Layre, Jr. were the owners of the Layre's Dutch Kitchen in the Villas for many years.

She is survived by a sister, Faith Williams, Christiana, PA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were private with interment in St. Elizabeth's cemetery, Goshen, NJ. Memorials may be made to the Oceana Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activities Department, 502 Rt. 9 North, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Lazzaro, Frank "Hank" V.

Frank "Hank" V. Lazzaro, 79, of Rio Grande, died on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. He was born in South Philadelphia and lived at 8th and Pierce before moving here in 1990. He attended Our Lady of the Angels Church. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Quincy. He was a foreman at Nabisco Cookies in Philadelphia.

He is survived by his children, Pastor Robert and Stephanie Brown of Del Haven, Donald Brown of Warminster, PA, and Barbara McGuire of Philadelphia; his sisters, Mary, Theresa, Rosie, and Cassie; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Julia Lazzaro on April 1, 2000.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Monday, March 3, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, Parkway and East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Veteran's cemetery, Cape May Court House.

LEAHY, JUNE PHYLLIS, (nee Sowden) on May 4, 2004. formerly of Collingswood and Cherry Hill. Age 87. Wife of the late Paul J. Leahy Sr. Loving mother of Paul J. Leahy and his wife Carol of Medford and Jacalyn Woloszyn and her husband Richard of N. Cape May. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
