Kappler, Ruth G.
KAPPLER, Ruth (nee Green), 83, died Jan. 7, 2002 at Wiley Village, Marlton, NJ. Born in Gloucester, she was a lifelong resident of Southern New Jersey. Ruth was a lifelong volunteer, involved in church, school and community. She held various leadership positions in United Methodist Women at the local, district, conference and national level. She served on the Board of Education of Southern NJ Conference and was an officer in the Association for Retired Ministers and Spouses. She was also a delegate to the Annual and Jurisdiction Conferences of United Methodist Church. Active in the local postcard club, she presented many programs on the history of deltiology. She was the program coordinator for Keen-Agers, the senior citizen organization at her local church and taught classes on writing life stories. Wife of the late Rev. Ralph A. Kappler. Survived by her three children, Nancy Kappler Foster of Poughkeepsie, NY, Loni Kappler Chewning of Yardley, PA and David R. Kappler of Cherry Hill, NJ, her brother Harry C. Green of Stratford, NJ, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is on January 19th at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Rt. 70, Cherry Hill. On May 26, 2002. Of Marlton, NJ, formerly of Perth Amboy and Bayville. Age 78.
Beloved husband of Mary (Onyshko). Loving father of Gerald Karacz of Beechwood, NJ and Dorothy Washlick (and her husband John R.) of Mt Laurel, NJ. Devoted grandfather of Natasha and Nadia Washlick; Jennifer, Jerry and Jeffrey Karacz.
Brother of Maria Karacz of Ukraine.
Mr. Karacz worked for General Motors, Linden, NJ as an inspector retiring after 32 years. He was a member of the Ukranian American Club of Ocean County and St Stephen's Ukranian Catholic Church in Toms River. Karam, Michael A.
KARAM, MICHAEL A. suddenly on April 21, 2004 formerly of Mt. Laurel. Age 34 years. Beloved son of Alfred P. and Nancy E. (nee Galbraith) Karam. Dear brother of David, Jeffrey and his wife Jennifer, and Jeannine and her husband Jesse Martinez. Loving uncle of Hope, Nathan, Nichole, Aubrey and RC. Also survived by aunts, Evelyn Small and Susan Phillips and uncles, Norman Karam and Richard Galbraith and many other loving family and friends. Michael enjoyed working at the Arc of Somerset. He was an active participant of the Special Olympics at Matheny, specializing in the tricycle obstacle course. His favorite leisure activity included riding his tricycle in the halls at Matheny. Michael also loved to take part in horseback riding programs. Music was another one of his passions, he liked to not only listen to it but enjoyed playing the keyboard. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday from7-9 PM and Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home 601 Rt. 73 South in Marlton. Karcher, Nancy C.
Nancy C. Karcher, 49, of Wildwood, died at her home on Friday, July 16, 2004. She was the daughter of the late James W. Karcher, Sr. and Dorothy (Jacoby) Karcher. She was born in Philadelphia, PA and summered here many years prior to moving here ten years ago. She was a server at the Boathouse Restaurant and Larkin's Restaurant.
She is survived by two daughters, Kari E. Acevedo and Jenna L. Acevedo; a brother, James W. Karcher, Jr.; and two sisters, Janet D. Doman, and Diane V. Robinson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 12:00 noon at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery. Karstens, Edwin B.
Edwin B. Karstens, 78, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at his home. Born in Woodbury to the late Erwin and Lucy (Pulcher) Karstens, he lived in Cape May Court House for over 53 years. He worked as a carpenter for Plitnick and Ross in Avalon. He enjoyed gardening and playing violin in local country western bands.
Mr. Karstens is survived by his wife, Barbara M. Karstens; his children, Kenneth Karstens and his wife, Barbara A. of Green Creek, Gary Karstens of Villas, Carol Smith of Cape May Court House, and Kathleen Fath and her husband, James of Green Creek; his sisters, Delores Lepak of Laurel Lake, and Joyce Karstens of Vineland; his ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery.
Katelhon, Robert H.
Robert H. Katelhon age 74, of Eatontown died Friday, May 16, 2003 at home. He was employed by the New Jersey Natural Gas Company for 40 years retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Lamp Lighter Association, and he was past treasurer of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Number 400 Union, Wall Township. He was a parishioner of St Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. Born in Newark, he had lived in Neptune before moving to Eatontown 42 years ago.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years Elizabeth Tyluki Katelhon; 2 sons Robert C. Katelhon, Long Branch, Henry P. Katelhon, Wanamassa; a daughter Helen Barker, Boulder Creek, CA; a brother Gerald Katelhon, Pennsylvania; a sister Joan Petillo, Asbury Park; and 10 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin Aves, Long Branch on Sunday from 2-5 pm. Funeral Monday May 19, 9 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass at St Dorothea's R.C. Church, Eatontown. Entombemt will be in Woodbine Masuoleum, Oceanport.

KATES, BENJAMIN E, Jr., on January 31, 2008, of Collingswood, NJ. Formerly of Camden, NJ. Age 70. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Yates). Loving father of Benjamin E. Kates, III and Charlotte Kates. Brother of Sara Long, Myrtle Borodziuk, and Robert Kates. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Benjamin was a retired shop steward for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local #676. He worked for Cherry Hill Township for 32 years. Kates, Jr., Lewis B.
Lewis B. Kates, Jr., 88, of Cape May Court House, died on Friday, March 19, 2004 at Crest Haven Nursing Home. Lewis retired from Texaco Oil Refinery in 1970. He enjoyed golfing and woodworking and making furniture for his family. He coached Little League and Junior League baseball and Pee Wee Football for many years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie in 1999 and their son, Bruce in 2001. He is survived by his daughters, Carol Cox and her husband, Ken of Big Pine Key, FL and Beverly Hudson and her husband, Allen, of Cape May Court House; granddaughters, Deborah, Deanna, Brenda, and Dawn; grandson, Jeff; and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Ginny Pierce of Souderton, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private in Eglington cemetery, Clarksboro. Katz, Leslie
Leslie Katz, age 56 of Eatontown died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Jersey Shore Care Center, Eatontown. Leslie had a loved for music, transistor radios and hats. Born in Long Branch he was a life resident of the area.
Surviving is a brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Phyllis Katz, Long Branch; a sister and brother in law, Geri and Richard Puorro, Clearwater, Fla.and 2 nephews, Darren and Eric.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 29, from 7-9 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave (corner of Third Ave), Long Branch. A funeral service will be held on Saturday beginning at 10 am from the funeral home. Interment will follow at Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport. Kauczka, Elizabeth "Betty" M.
Elizabeth "Betty" M. Kauczka, 93, of St. Mary's Catholic Home, Cherry Hill, formerly of Camden, died on Saturday, August 27, 2005. She was born in Camden to the late Ignatius and late Mary (Wasiolek) Chojnacki. She was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church of Camden. She was an avid grower of beautiful roses.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary L. Gale and her husband, E. William of Huntingdon, PA; two granddaughters, Patricia Egan and her husband, Daniel, and Kathleen Gale; two great granddaughters, Maria and Sophia Egan; two brothers, Stanley Chojnacki and his wife, Gertrude (Trudy), and Daniel Chojnacki and his wife, Rita; and one sister, Anna Faure. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon J. Kauczka; her daughter, Barbara; and two sisters, Frances Kubiak and Claire Paleczny.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 1010 Liberty Street, Camden, NJ at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2005. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's R.C. Church.

Kavafes, Gloria O.
KAVAFES, GLORIA (nee Mates). Born in Stockertown, PA on December 7, 1926. She grew up and attended school in Allentown, PA. She was known for her beautiful singing voice, and had a career singing on the radio and for USO Shows in the Pennsylvania tri-state area. It was while singing on the radio, that she met her beloved husband, Argery Kavafes as he was working as a broadcast engineer. They were married
on November 18, 1950. After her marriage, Gloria devoted herself to raising two children and taking care of her family. She passed away on February 11, 2008. She was pre-deceased by her husband in 2005 after 55 years of marriage. She is survived by a son, Gary (Shelley) Kavafes, and a daughter, Denise Kavafes, three grandchildren, Kara Wilson, Elyse Wilson, and Kevin Kavafes and 2 step-grandchildren, Sam and Laura Segal. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. SANDRA M. KAY (Nee Rever), of Shamong, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2009 at the Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, NJ. She was 65 yrs. of age. Born in Harrisburg, PA, she is the wife of the late Edward P. Kay and has resided in Shamong since 1970. The retired Board Secretary for the Shamong Twp. Board of Education, Sandra worked there from 1980 to 2001. She is the Beloved mother of Douglas E. Kay of Shamong, NJ and Bradley Kay and his wife Doris of Southampton, NJ. She is also survived by her long time companion Andrew Giberson of Shamong and her brother Wayne Rever and his wife Nancy of Bloomsburg, PA and her three nieces Maria, Marsha and Monica. Katherine R. Keating, 84, of the Victorian Towers, Cape May, NJ, died on Saturday, December 30, 2006, at the Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Donnelley Keating. She was a retired clerk for ATT after forty years of service. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. She formerly lived in Erdenheim, PA, moving here six years ago.
She is survived by a brother, Walter Keating, and his wife, Jean of Avalon, NJ; a sister, Sister Clare Michael Keating, SSJ of the Villa at Flourtown, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Liturgy will be said on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at 9:30 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Cape May, NJ, where visitation will begin at 8:30 am. Jean L. Keating, 87, of Avalon, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009 at her home. She was born in Philadelphia and moved to Avalon in 1962 from Fox Chase, PA.
Mrs. Keating is survived by her husband, Walter J. Keating; her sons Michael and wife Joan, and Sean and wife Mary; her five grandchildren, Steven, Lauren, Kaytie, Mike, and Merri; and her two great grandchildren, Bryson and Kanen. Keating, Cathleen E.
Cathleen E. Keating, age 74, died on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Court House Convalescent Center, Cape May Court House. Born in Philadelphia she summered in Stone Harbor. At retirement her and husband George's love for the seashore kept them here year round since 1988. As a wife, mother, and grandmother her strength and wisdom guided us, her sense of family inspired us, her love and kindness warmed us. She was one of a kind. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and was a Registered Nurse for 33 years.
She is survived by her loving husband George T., Sr., her son George T., Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Cape May Court House, her daughter Cathy Cavanna, and her husband Bob, of Derry, New Hampshire, and four caring grandchildren Brett, Michelle, Katelyn, and Michael. She also leaves behind two sisters Claire and Norma.
