Kahermanes, Angelina "Pat" Rubino

Angelina "Pat" Rubino Kahermanes, age 82 of Eatontown died Friday September 24, 2004 at St Barnabas Hospice Care and Palliative Center, Long Branch. She worked in the gift shop at Monmouth Medical Center. Born in Long Branch, she had been a life resident of the area. She was predeceased by her husband, James Kahermanes in 1989 and her parents Elpidio and Vittoria D'Amico. Surviving is a son Frank Rubino, Eatontown; a sister, Theresa "Tess" Acerra, Long Branch; 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Amanda Rubino.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. on the corner of Third Ave, Long Branch, on Monday, September 27, from 2-4, 7-9 pm. Funeral, Tuesday time of Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea R. C. Church, Long Branch to be announced. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel cemetery, West Long Branch. Kain, Margaret D.

MARGARET L. KAIN (Nee Diehl) of Galloway, NJ passed away on Tuesday, October 7th, 2008 at the age of 89 following a decade of suffering with Alzheimer's disease. Margaret was born in Decatur, IN. the daughter of Adam & Emma (Nee Loser) Diehl. After her mother's death, she along with two of her seven siblings resided in Fort Wayne Children's Home until graduation from North Side High School. She married Max W. Kain from Bluffton, IN and they raised two children in Fort Wayne, IN until leaving in 1958. Margaret is survived by her brother Harvey Diehl residing on Long Island, NY, her daughter Roxann (Kain) Rucker residing in Seattle, WA and her son Jerome Kain residing in Marlton, NJ. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18th in the Prairie Grove cemetery in Fort Wayne, IN where Margaret will be laid to rest next to her sisters Martha (Diehl) Beckman and Dorothy (Diehl) Stock. Kaiser, Ida C

Kaiser, Ida Cecilia. (nee Barnabie). On April 29, 2007 after a long illness. Born and formerly of Camden, she resided in Cherry Hill, age 82. Beloved wife of 58 years to Albert Kaiser. Loving mother of Kathleen Pincus and her husband Michael, Gary Kaiser and his wife Peggy, Karen Williams and her husband Daniel, Eileen Ale and her husband Jay, Thomas Kaiser and his wife Mary, Kenneth Kaiser and his wife Carol. Beloved grandmother of 13 grandchildren and innumerable loving nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Millie Georgio and Teresa Saltiel and the late Helen Harbinson, Diane DiPaolo, Gene Barnabie and Rick Barnabie. She worked as an office supervisor at Curtis Publishing Co., later she was employed by Clover. She was a member of St. Mary Church, a member of St. Mary's Church senior's club, Cherry Hill senior's club, Sons of Italy, AARP senior's club, and Perennial's Club. Ida was an accomplished athlete and received an athletic award in baseball. She was a fan of baseball and Frank Sinatra. She loved to play poker, enjoyed gardening and growing house plants, exceptional chef, enjoyed babysitting, and was active in the PTA. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing Friday from 7-9 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt.73 and Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. A viewing will also be held on Saturday 9-10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 2001 Springdale Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ and a Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM at the Church. Kaj, Sophia Romanyshyn

Sophia Romanyshyn Kaj, age 82 of Eatontown died peacefully Tuesday, July 13 at home after a seven year courageous battle with cancer. She was a seamstress for Long Branch Manufacturing and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, retiring in 1989. Born in the Ukraine, she came to the United States in 1968 and lived in West Long Branch before moving to Eatontown 3 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Micahel Kaj in 1990, and a brother in law Ralph B Kukla in 2001. She is survived by her two sisters, Maria Kukla of Eatontown and Anna Remer of Louisville, Kentucky along with many other nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., Corner of Third, Long Branch on Thursday, July 15 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Friday, 8:30 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am at St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. Interment will follow at Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport.

Kajander, Fanny S.

Fanny S. Kajander, 107, of Wildwood, died on Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at the Lutheran Home at Ocean View, where she had been a resident for seven years. She was born on June 14, 1894 in Angelniemi, Finland and came to the United States in 1910. She moved to Wildwood in 1922 where she lived until her 100th birthday. She was a member of the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Wildwood. She had been an active gardener, enjoyed knitting, and was a very good cook.

Mrs. Kajander is survived by a son, Richard A. of Wildwood Crest; two daughters, Lillian E. VanZant of Palermo, and Sylvia Hewett of Rio Grande; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. in 1951; a son, John and a grandson, Clinton VanZant.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 12, at 11:00 AM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Cape May Court House. Memorials may be made in her name to the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 119 E. Rio Grande Avenue, Wildwood, NJ 08260.

Kalbach, Jr., Edwin "Ned" Richard

Edwin "Ned" Richard Kalbach, Jr., 65, of South Dennis, died early Monday, April 11, 2005 from complications after a long illness.

He was born in Wenonah to Audrey and E. Richard Kalbach, both deceased. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Elaine P. Kalbach; brother William P. Kalbach of Eagle River, Alaska; two sons, Karl F. Kalbach of Ridley Twp., PA, and Kieth A. Kalbach of Omaha, Nebraska. His legacy will live on with his five beautiful grandchildren.

He moved to Stone Harbor in the early 50's. He was a 1958 graduate of Middle Township High School, where he was a standout student, and probably was the greatest football player to ever don a uniform at that school.

He served three years in the Merchant Marines and was also honorably discharged from the Army in March of 1965. He had a passion for boats, the sea, Eagles football, fine food and drink, and his family of friends. He will be remembered by all who loved him as a father figure, a voice of reason and realism, but most of all, his compassion and inner strength.

"If I had to do it all again, I would take the same ship."

Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Covenant Life Christian Fellowship, 3044 Shore Road, Seaville, where friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association, 1600 Route 22 East, Union, NJ 07083.

Kalhan, Inder N.

Inder N. Kalhan age 87 of Eatontown died September 8, 2003 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

Visitation on Wednesday from 7-9 pm from the Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin Aves, Long Branch. Funeral service will be held on Thursday 10 am at Monmouth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Tinton Falls.

Kamensky, Euseba S

EUSEBA S. KAMENSKY (Nee Simpson) of Medford, NJ died peacefully on Feb. 17, 2010 at the Medford Leas. She was 87. Born on Aug. 8, 1922 in Newell, PA, she married Warren F. Kamensky of NYC, NY on March 5, 1943. After moving east they resided in Cinnaminson, NJ for 35 yrs. before moving to Medford Leas. Euseba worked as a volunteer at Cooper Hospital in Camden and as a recreational therapist in the newly opened psychiatric wing. Eventually Euseba decided to work independently in her own home workshop. She studied at college's catering to crafts in which she was interested. She was a long time member and officer in the PA Guild of Craftsmen and enjoyed her interests in ceramics, silver jewelry and silver smiting. Relatives and Friends are invited to her viewing on Friday from 12:00 noon to 1 PM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd. Medford, NJ, (609-953-7600). Interment will follow in the Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson, NJ. Kammerer, James J

Kammerer, James J. Of Hammonton, NJ formerly of Wilmington, NC. On September 27, 2007 Went home to be with the Lord. Age 93. Devoted husband of the late Virginia (nee Ganon). Loving father of Nancy and her husband Harold Wood, Virginia Maher, Eileen and her husband Bernard Matthews, Dennis and his wife Janet, and David and his wife Nancy. Caring grandfather of fourteen and great grandfather of thirteen. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Sunday from 3-5 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt.73 and Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. Kane, Leonard J. "Lenny"

Leonard J. 'Lenny' Kane, age 58 of Long Branch died August 1, 2006 surrounded by his family at Care One in Wall. He worked in the trucking industry for over 30 years, retiring earlier this year as the owner of Dinosaur Transport, Newark. Born December 14, 1947 in Jersey City, he graduated from St. Al's High School in 1965, and went on to attend St. Peter's College. He lived in Jersey City until 1973, when he moved to the shore area. He served in the Army National Guard as a mechanic in the motor pool. Lenny will be remembered for his biggest love, baseball. He was a lifelong Yankee fan, and his passion was coaching Little League. He taught kids at every age level along the way, most recently the Shore Select Team, of whom he is very proud. He was a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association, National High School Baseball Coaches Association, and the Shore Umpires Association. Lenny recently had the honor of giving his daughter away in marriage, and was proud to know he was going to be a first time grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 2 ½ years, Gail Miller Kane; a daughter and son in law, Stephanie and Fred Faulhaber of Neptune; two sons and a daughter in law, Jason Kane and Dr. Beverly Drotos of Fair Haven and Justin 'Scooter' Kane of Brielle; a stepson, Richard Miller of Long Branch; his favorite aunt, Monica Holler of Jersey City; numerous brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews; and all of the ballplayers he coached over the years. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 6 from 1-5 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, on the corner of Third Ave, Long Branch. Funeral, Monday, 9:30 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Michael's R.C. Church, West End, Long Branch. Pauline Kane (nee Botzenhardt) age 82 years, of Cape May Court House, NJ passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Crest Heaven Nursing Home, Cape May Court House, NJ. Born in Camden, NJ, she resided in North Wildwood, NJ for 42 years and lived in Cape May Court House, NJ for the last 22 years.

Pauline worked in Camden, NJ at the New York Shipyard prior and during WWII. She held various jobs during her time in Wildwood, NJ, last of which was at Two Mile Landing. However, she always considered herself a full time mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Ann Seniors, AARP, Golden Age and Our Lady of the Angels Church.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years; Harry Kane, Sr., father Carl Botzenhardt and mother Elizabeth (nee Budesa). Surviving are her four sons; Harry and his wife Margaret Kane of Boca Raton FL, Thomas and his wife Linda Kane of Rio Grande, NJ, Mark and his wife Laureen Kane of Cape May Court House, NJ, Eric and his wife Theresa Kane of Cape May Court House, NJ and one daughter Christine Bogart and her husband Hugh of St. Petersburg FL, two brothers; Carl Botzenhardt of Wildwood and Thomas Botzenhardt of San Antonio TX, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, cousin and close friend Catherine Pepe of Wildwood Crest.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ, 7pm - 9pm on Friday, November 9, 2007 and a viewing at Our Lady of the Angels Church, E. Kapeghian, Charles L.

CHARLES L. KAPEGHIAN of Medford, NJ passed away on April 6, 2008. He is the Loving husband of Nell (nee Burch) Kapeghian and the Father of Amy (Darren) Thompson and Van Kapeghian. He is also the Son of John Kapeghian, Grandfather of Emily Thompson, Ashley Thompson, Van Kapeghian, Jr., Vivienne Kapeghian and Zachary Charles Thompson and also survived by two brothers and two sisters. He will also be greatly missed by many other family members and friends. Kapelus, Diana L.

Diana Lee Kapelus (Nee Bankard) died in the morning light of Monday, May 27, 2002, in her Lumberton home, after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. She was 43, surviving her birthday by a single day. Devoted spouse of Michael Kapelus and adoring mother of fifteen year old daughter Nicole, she exemplified the very best of an endangered species: the now not-so-common housewife. In a world where people increasingly define themselves by their business occupation and status, Diana chose to define herself by the lives she touched, and the stability and love of home, friends and family. Her legacy will not be found in lists of her professional awards or honored achievements - it will live in the hearts of the people whose lives will be made far poorer by her absence. She is survived by her husband Michael and daughter Nicole, her stepchildren Jennifer L. Kapelus of Atco, NJ and Michael Patrick Kapelus of Marlton, NJ, her parents Robert and Barbara Bankard of Marlton, NJ, her sister Lori DeLeo of Charlotte Harbor, FL and her brother Robert Bankard of Riverton, NJ; and her many friends and relatives who were her joy in life and her comfort in her last days. Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Lakes Church 40 Jackson Rd. Medford, NJ under the direction of Fr. John Shimchick of the Church of the Holy Cross. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family will greet friends after the mass. Kaplan, Florence

Florence (nee Ligenza) Kaplan, 85, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2004. She was born in Jersey City to the late Joseph and Mary (Bedus) Ligenza. She moved here in 1994 from Union. She worked at the Ohaus Scale Corp. in Florham Park.

Mrs. Kaplan was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Kaplan in 1987. She is survived by her son, Gregory Kaplan and his wife, Dolores of East Windsor; her daughters, Susan Babulski and her husband, Richard of Emerald Isle, NC, and Valerie Kincaid and her husband, Robert of Cape May Court House; her brothers, Steven Ligenza and his wife, Dolores of Union, and Peter Ligenza of Jersey City; and her five grandchildren.

Graveside service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Holy Cross cemetery, North Arlington. Memorial donations may be made to Make A Wish Foundation, 1034 Salem Road, Union, NJ 07083.

KAPPEL, Marie R. (nee Rapp)

Died January 7, 2005. Age 90. Born in Westmont, she lived in Collingswood and Haddonfield until moving to Wiley Continuing Care Community in Marlton in 1991. She graduated from Collingswood High School and attended Duke University. She was a homemaker most of her life, but also worked as a medical technician and manager of the gift shop at West Jersey Hospital in Camden. She was very active in the West Jersey Hospital Auxillary for many years. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, knitting and all kinds of needlework. She enjoyed summers at the shore, and then spending time with her friends at the Wedgewood Swim Club in Haddonfield.

Daughter of the late Robert & Vera Rapp. Predeceased by her husband William S. Kappel. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Roberta and Lynn Ericson of East Windsor; grandson Richard Feeny of Seattle, WA, grandson and his wife Glenn and Barbara Feeny of Wilmington, DE; great granddaughters Mackenzie and Paige Feeny of Wilmington; sister in law Mary Chappell of Cherry Hill; 3 nieces and 2 nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Wiley Church, 99 E. Main St., Marlton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wiley Continuing Care Community, 99 E. Main St., Marlton, NJ 08053.
