Hecht, Dr. Sylvester J. "Joe"

Dr. Sylvester J. Hecht of Asbury Park died March 2, 2004 in Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. Hecht, a University of Pennsylvania graduate, was a practicing orthodontist in Monmouth County since 1946. He was a Diplomat of The American Board of Orthodontists; a Fellow of The International College of Dentists; staff member and former Director of the Orthodontic Service at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He had memberships in the American Association of Orthodontist, American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, Monmouth and Ocean County Dental Society, of which he was past-president; American Cleft Palate Association, American Society of Dentistry for Children and The Federation Dentaire Internationale. He presented clinical demonstrations before the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the European Society of Orthodontists, and authored numerous articles pertaining to his profession. He served three and one half years of Military service in WWII in New Zealand, Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines, retiring as a Major in 1946. "Joe" as he was affectionately known by his friends was born in Metuchen, NJ and lived his first twenty seven years on a sixty acre farm. He was a communicant of the Unitarian Church. He is survived by his children, Deborah Ann and Robert Alan, both of AZ; and a grandchild, John Matthew Bender.Entombment services were held at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. A Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., corner of Third,Long Branch is in charge of arrangements.

Heck, Stephen

Stephen Heck, 90, of Rio Grande, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2007 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in South Amboy to the late Gustav and Annie (Turack) Heck, he moved to Rio Grande in June from Parlin, NJ. He was employed by Jersey Central Power and Light Company in Sayreville for 38 years and served in the U.S. Army from October 14, 1935 to December 31, 1937. He enjoyed gardening and was a home handyman - he made and fixed everything.

Mr. Heck is survived by his son, Stephen M. Heck and his wife, Janice of Rio Grande; his brother, Frank Zebrowski of South Carolina; and his sisters, Helen Hockenjos and Mary Zebrowski, both of Sayreville. He was preceded in death by his wives, Marie and Angelina.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 1600 Route 22 East, Union, NJ 07083-3410.

Heckman, Helen "Babe"

Helen "Babe" Heckman, age 77, of Woodbine, NJ, died on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 4:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA. At the time of her transition to Spirit, she was surrounded by her daughter, son, son-in-law and grandchildren. She was born in Woodbine, NJ on July 4, 1930, the daughter of the late Theodore and Anna Churko Gnida.

She was a member of St. Casimir's R.C. Church here and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Helen lived in Woodbine for seventy seven years and will be remembered by the local people for her forty three years as postal clerk in the Woodbine post office.

She is survived by her daughter: Jane Pineda and husband, Al; a son: Donald; a sister: Amelia DeLanzo and husband, Ralph; brother-in-law, Joseph Mattera; two grandchildren: Jeffrey and Rachel and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2002; a brother, Michael in 1955; and a sister, Rose Mattera in 2002.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Monday, March 24, 2008, at 11 am at St. Casimir's Church, Woodbine, NJ where friends may visit from 10 am. Interment will be in the St. Casimir's cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to a favorite charity.

Heckman, Donald E.

Donald E. Heckman, 73, of Woodbine, died on Sunday, May 26, 2002 at his home. He was born in Cherryville, PA and lived in Northampton, PA before moving here in 1946. He was retired as postmaster for the Woodbine Post Office after 38 years of service. Prior to serving in the United States Navy from October 12, 1948 to October 9, 1952, he was manager of the Capitol Theatre in Woodbine. He was an active member of St. Casimir's R.C. Church where he was also an usher. He was a member of the Woodbine American Legion, the Catholic Club, and the Retired Postmasters' Club.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; his son, Donald of Sag Harbor, NY; a daughter, Jane, and her husband, Albert Pineda of Shrewsburg, MA; his sister, Virginia Hower of Pennsylvania; and his two grandchildren, Jeffery and Rachel Pineda.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir's R.C. Church, Clay Street, Woodbine, where friends may call at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Casimir's cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Atlantic City Medical Center Hospice, 1406 Doughty Road, Pleasantville, NJ 08232 or the Hope Cancer Center, Upper Township.

Heckroth, Raymond J.

Raymond J. Heckroth, 77, of Sea Isle City, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Ralph and Margaret (Hickey) Heckroth, he lived here for ten years after moving from Philadelphia, PA. He was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Sea Isle City and a former member of St. Dominic's Church in Philadelphia. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War on the U.S.S. Sea Poacher submarine. He was formerly employed by AT&T.

Mr. Heckroth was a 1948 graduate of North Catholic High School and a fourth degree knight in Knights of Columbus. He was former president of the United Soccer League in Philadelphia and was a life member of the U.S.S. Sea Poacher Association.

Mr. Heckroth is survived by his wife, Frances C. Heckroth; his children, Raymond E. Heckroth of Philadelphia, Meg Lennon of Doylestown, PA, and Bethann DiGiovanni and her husband, Anthony of Philadelphia; his brother, Ralph "Pete" Heckroth of Hermitage, PA; his seven grandchildren, Patrick (Megan), Megan, Kristie, TJ, Matthew, Anthony, and Grace; and one great granddaughter, Brenna.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at St. Joseph's Church, 4308 Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. with a prayer service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Viewing will also be held on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at St. Dominic's Church, 8504 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Monastery, 2625 Highway 212 S.W., Conyers, GA 30094-4044.

Hedden, Sr., John F.

HEDDEN, John F. Sr. on February 12, 2004 of Vincentown, NJ formerly of Camden, NJ. Age 93. Beloved husband of the late Doris (nee Parsons). Devoted father of John F. Jr. and Frederick Hedden. Loving grandfather of John Charles. Also survived by 2 nephews Raymond and John Brosel. Prior to retirement in 1973, Mr. Hedden was employed as a power supervisor at Merk Inc. in North Wales, PA for over 30 years. He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the Merchantville Mason Lodge #119 for over 50 years. Hee, Rosalie Timmins

Rosalie Timmins Hee (nee Maggio), 73, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at her home. She was born in Trenton, NJ, the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Sole Maggio. She was a retired deputy clerk for the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Mrs. Hee was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and the Senior Group of the Church, and she enjoyed traveling. She lived in North Wildwood, NJ for many years prior to moving here three years ago.

She is survived by her husband, John F.; a son: Peter (Cathy) Timmins; two daughters: Patricia (David) Jackson and Donna (Thomas) Ernst; a step-son: John F.X. (Denise) Hee; four step daughters: Theresa (David) Downs; Sister Florence Hee, OSF; Rosemarie (Frank) Smith and Patricia (Joseph) Aita; twenty grandchildren including Joni Timmins whom she raised and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, JoAnne Timmins.

Funeral Litury will be said on Monday, June 4, 2007, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Angels Church, Garden State Parkway and East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may visit 8:30 to 10:30 am. Ginger Heft,(nee Pedrick), 49 yrs of Sicklerville, NJ, formerly of Williamstown, NJ on 8-24-2001. Mrs. Heft graduated from Williamstown High in 1970 and Rutgers University of Camden in 1974 with a BA in English Literature. She worked for TWA in Marlton, as a world tour representative for 25 years. Hegarty, Louise Roseline

Louise Roseline Hegarty, 78 years of age, of Rio Grande, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2005 in Cape May Court House, NJ of natural causes. Loving mother to Dan Wilson of Bend, OR, Rudy Wilson of Rio Grande, NJ, and the late Joe Wilson of Philadelphia, PA. Adored grandmother of twelve grandchildren, devoted wife to the late Eugene Hegarty and the late Manny Wolf. Louise along with her late husband, Manny, were proud to be business owners for over 27 years of which included The Beachview Hotel, the Boardwalk Skillo, Dealers Choice, a giftshop called The Hummingbird, as well as Boardwalk Auctions all located in Wildwood, NJ. Heggie, William

William Heggie, 73 of West Long Branch died Friday, June 11, 2004 at Jersey Shore Care Center, Eatontown. He was a mortgage broker with Sovereign Bank, Toms River before retiring

six years ago. Born in Schenectady, New York, he had lived in Long Branch before moving to West Long Branch 35 years ago. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. He was past president and a Hall of Fame member of the Monmouth County Bowling Association. He served his country honorably in the Untied States Army.

He was predeceased by his father, Angus Heggie. Surviving are his son and daughter in law, Gordon and Anailda Heggie of West Long Branch; two daughters, Pamela Heggie, of West Long Branch and Angela Holder and her companion, Jeff Adams of West Long Branch; his mother Margaret Riddell Powers of West Long Branch; his former wife, Barbara Yamello Heggie of West Long Branch; and five grandchildren, Joseph Heggie, Melissa Heggie, Kyle Hendricksen, Kristen Hendricksen and Alexandra Holder.

Heide, Sr., John T.

John T. Heide Sr., 87, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Crest Haven Nursing Home. Born in Camden on September 5, 1916 to the late John W. and Ellen G. (Larsen) Heide, he moved to this area in 1921. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and was in the Army Corps of Engineers. He was a member of the American Legion, a charter member and past chief of the Stone Harbor Fire Department, and the Cape May County Communications Van. He was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 70 of Stone Harbor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cape May and taught Sunday School there and at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Stone Harbor. He did the welding on the mastings for the USS Kitty Hawk.

Mr. Heide is survived by his daughter, Ellen H. (Cheatle) Lagano of Northfield; his son, Edwin S. of Villas; five grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence H. Heide on October 15, 1989 and his son, John T. Heide, Jr. on August 21, 1999.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 8, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 10:30. Heines, Eric Gabriel

Eric Gabriel Heines, 7 week olf son of Daniel E. Heines and Ashley Habecker of Villas, NJ, died Sunday, December 19, 2004, at home.

He was born October 27, 2004, in Cape May Court House, NJ.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother: Daniel E. Heines, II; paternal grandmother: Martina Heines of North Cape May, NJ; maternal grandmother: Jayne Habecker of Villas, NJ; and maternal great grandmother: Mary Ellen Habecker of Coatesville, PA.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2004, at 6:00 PM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may call at 5:00 PM. Interment is private.

Heinrich, William G.

HEINRICH, William G. on January 5, 2003 of Cherry Hill, NJ formerly of New York City. Age 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Darcy). Devoted father of Robert and his wife Mary Jane of TX and Eileen McNiff of NJ. Dear brother of Margaret Bliss of MI. Loving grandfather of Darcy, Joseph, Michael and James and great grandfather of Madison. Also survived by a special niece Margaret Espinosa and her husband Henry of NY and their two children Eileen and Joseph.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Heinrich was employed as a Chef at the Hohokus Inn in NJ for over 20 years. He was also a United States Army Veteran of WWII serving from 1943-46. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 and on Friday from 8:15-9:15 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home, 601 Rt. 73 South in Marlton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at the Church of St. Pius X, Brace Rd in Cherry Hill. Interment Calvary cemetery in Queens, NY. Heins, Julia Ann

HEINS, Julia Ann. (nee Hoffman) Sadly passed away on Wednesday, January 27th, of Myrtle Beach, a widow, a mother and a grandmother. She was 79 years old. Born January 3rd, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Heins was the daughter of the late George and Helen Hoffman. Grew up in Philadelphia with 4 siblings; late Lorraine Friess, Lois Miller, Eleanor Fleisch and George Hoffman. Julia was a devoted wife and mother of 3 sons and was one of South Jersey's original soccer Mom's. Her late husband of 51 years, Bill Heins Jr., passed away in November 2004. She is survived by her three sons, Bill, Wayne and Warren Heins and daughter in-laws Jackie and Laurie Heins. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren; Justine, Ryan, Trevor, Sean, Kylie and Tara Heins all of whom enjoyed many a summer day building sandcastles with her at the beach. She will be missed very much.

A memorial ceremony honoring her life will be held at a later date. Details will be distributed by the family.

Heise, Frank

Frank Heise of Stone Harbor, NJ died on Nov. 22, 2009 at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of Gladys (nee) Parisano. A World War II Army veteran, he served in Washington State from 1944 to 1945. He was an avid fisherman and golfer but he was most proud of his long-standing membership in the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Cape May, NJ, volunteering his time to perform safety inspections of boats in the Avalon and Stone Harbor area. He received numerous awards from the Coast Guard for his work. He also served as a Middle Township Water Commissioner for over 30 years and as Judge of Elections in his voting district.

Frank was born in Wyndmoor, PA and resided there until retiring to Stone Harbor, NJ. He was a construction foreman with the Herman Goldner Co. in Philadelphia and a member of Plumbers Local 690. He was a member of American Legion Post #331 in Stone Harbor, NJ, where he served as Sergeant at Arms, Vincent Savage Post in Wyndmoor, PA, and Masonic Lodge #81 in Chestnut Hill, PA. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Gladys, daughters Evelyn C. Giegerich and Gladys M. Heise, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 1:00pm at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. Viewing will begin at 11:00am. Interment will be in Cape May County Veterans cemetery.

Heiser, Gertrude

Gertrude Heiser, (Nee Oldroyd) of Mt. Laurel, NJ went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 24, 2001. She was 85 years of age. Born in Phila., PA she has resided in Mt. Laurel for the past 8 1/2 years moving there from Cinnaminson, NJ. She is the wife of the late Harold Heiser. A long time employee of Crown Cork & Seal in Phila., PA., she worked as an Inspector from 1951 until her retirement in 1979. She was a long time member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Cinnaminson, NJ and was active in many different senior organizations. She is survived by her loving children Harold Heiser and his wife Faye of Medford, NJ and Trudy Verrill of Mt. Laurel, NJ, her Grandchildren Blake H. Heiser and Laura F. Heiser both of Medford, NJ, Joseph E. Verrill of CA, Kenneth H. and his wife Lorraine Verrill of Medford, NJ and John A. and his wife Holly Verrill of FL. And also 4 Great Grandchildren David, Joshua, Christopher and Anna. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME 127 Medford-Mt. Heister, Margaret R.

HEISTER, MARGARET RACHEL, on December 29, 2008, of Holiday Village East in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Age 85. Wife of the late Charles Heister. Beloved sister of Mary Anderson, William Noble and his wife Margaret, and George Noble and his wife Fay. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Saturday January 3, 2009 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 Noon at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 South, Marlton, NJ. Funeral Service will be 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
