Albert V. Buenzly

Albert V. Buenzly, 83, of the Heckman House, Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, May 28, 1996 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

He was a store room clerk in the compressor store room at Ingersoll-Rand, Phillipsburg, for 37 years, retiring in 1976.

Born October 14, 1912 in Washington, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Anna Lewis Buenzly.

He attained the rank of Private First Class in the Army, having served during World War II.
He was stationed with the 236th General Hospital Division and was awarded the American Theater and European African-Middle Eastern Ribbons as well as the Good Conduct and Victory medals.

He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and the Heckman House Social Club, both in Phillipsburg and was also a member of the A.A.R.P..

He was a member of the Phillipsburg High School Class of 1931 and had been a member of the high school baseball teams.

He and his wife, the former Florence E. O'Brien observed their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary last July. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert C. Of South Whitehall Twp., and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Calling hours will be held 7:00 Pm to 9:00 PM Thursday (this evening) in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.

The family requests memorial contributions to the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad, PO Box 215, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.

Bernard F. Bullock, Sr.

Bernard F. Bullock, Sr., 70, of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, July 5, 2001 in Phillipsburg.

He, along with several of his brothers, owned and operated the former Bullock Auto Salvage in Harmony Twp. He was with the business for 30 years until they closed in 1985. He later worked as a driver for Helen's Floral Shoppe, Phillipsburg and as a security guard for Professional Security Bureau, Palmer Twp.

Born August 25, 1930 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late Roland and Gertrude Bergenback Bullock, Sr.

He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

He was a volunteer for the Karen Ann Quinlan Hope Hospice for eight years.

He was a private first class in the Army and received the Germany Occupation Medal.

His wife, the former Phyllis Berger died in 1991.

He is survived by three sons, Bernard F., Jr., Michael S. and William R., all of Phillipsburg; three daughters, Barbara A. and Mary A., both of Phillipsburg and Beverly A. Mellarkey of Wilson Borough; six brothers, Roland, Jr. and Robert, both of Phillipsburg, Edward of Whiting, NJ, Carl of Tom's River, NJ, Paul of Philadelphia and Thomas of Hackettstown; a sister, Dorothy Finken of Oxford, NJ. and twelve grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Tuesday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. in the church, 426 S. Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery , Greenwich Twp., NJ. Calling hours will be Monday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

The family requests memorial contributions to Karen Ann Quinlan Center of Hope Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave Newton, NJ 07860-2614.

Susan E. Bullock

Susan E. "Sue" Bullock, 44, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, July 18, 2003 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.

She was a secretary at the Northampton County Juvenile Detention Center in Easton since 2000 where she served on the wellness committee. She formerly worked as a chiropractic assistant for Marcus Family Chiropractic in Bethlehem for 7 years; the Journal of Commerce in Phillipsburg where she performed data entry and was an assembly worker at OPT Industries in Lopatcong Twp. Many will remember Sue from her days when she worked at Dunkin Donuts in Lopatcong Twp.

Born July 12, 1959 in Phillipsburg, she is a daughter of the former Gladys Rush of Phillipsburg and the late Charles A. Boyer.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Phillipsburg.

A graduate of Phillipsburg High School, Sue was a member of the girl's field hockey and was named the New Jersey All-State Goalie. She spent the past three years referring girl's high school field hockey games in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Sue was very athletic and thoroughly enjoyed running. She was known for wearing out the soles of many sneakers, long before the tops ever did. Among some of her proudest accomplishments was having crossed the finish line during three New York City Marathons and several biathlons and triathlons. When she wanted to take it easy, she enjoyed hiking and bicycle riding and enjoyed bowling.

Sue and her husband, Bernard F. "Bernie", Jr., observed their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary on June 10th.

In addition to her husband and mother, Sue is survived by two sons, Bernard F., III of Phillipsburg and Charles A. of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Gary A. Boyer of Lopatcong Twp., and Ray Cole of Mansfield, Pa.; two sisters, Gail L. Bundro of Phillipsburg and Charlene A. Klipple of Nazareth; and 16 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Wesley United Methodist Church, Miller and Potts Sts, Phillipsburg. The Rev. William Spangler will officiate the services. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 on Tuesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the Easton cemetery , Easton.

Sue enjoyed her work in chiropractic, under the direction of Nalyn Marcus, D.C., and was noted for having taught seminars on being a chiropractic assistant at Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in Spartanburg, S.C. With this in mind, the family asked that those planning an expression of sympathy consider the Sylva Ashworth Scholarship Fund, which supports single mothers entering the chiropractic field. Contributions may be made payable to FSCO/Ashworth Fund, 2276 Wassergass Rd, Hellertown, PA 18055.

Amy Burham

Amy Burham, 21, of Oxford, NJ, formerly of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, November 8, 1998 at the Wanaque Center, in Haskell, NJ.

She formerly worked at Warren County Day Training Center in Port Murray, NJ and was active with the Warren County A.R.C. in Washington, NJ.

Born September 29, 1977 in Hackettstown, NJ, she is the daughter of Wallace Lee Burham or Ashville, NY and the former Josephine O'Dell Burham of Phillipsburg.

She enjoyed dancing, country music and also enjoyed skiing with the Phillipsburg High School Ski Club.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Nickey LaTourette of Phillipsburg and three half-brothers, Shawn, Jason and Michael Burham of Ashville, NY. A brother, Charles G. and a sister, Dawn Marie both died earlier, in addition to Amy's twin sister, Cynthia A. who died April 30, 1998.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in Easton cemetery , Easton. Calling hours will be from Noon until time of services Thursday in the funeral home.

Cynthia Allison Burham

Cynthia Allison Burham, 20, of the North Jersey Developmental Center in Totowa, NJ, formerly of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, April 30, 1998 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, NJ.

She was formerly active at the Warren County ARC in Washington, NJ and enjoyed dancing, country music. She also was enjoyed skiing with the ski club of Phillipsburg High School.

Born September 29, 1977 in Hackettstown, she was the daughter of Wallace L. Burham of Ashville, NY and Josephine O'Dell Burham of Phillipsburg.

She was of the Presbyterian faith.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, an identical twin sister, Amy of Oxford, NJ and Nickey Latourette of Phillipsburg and three half-brothers; Shawn, Jason and Michael Burham of Ashville, NY. A brother Charles G. and Donna Marie both died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of services, Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Easton cemetery , 401 N. Seventh St., Easton.

Delores Anne Burlander

Delores Anne Burlander, 34, of Albrightsville, Carbon County, Pa, formerly of Roselle, NJ, died Wednesday, December 13, 2000 in her home.

Born November 24, 1966 in Los Angeles, California, she was the daughter of Mrs. Anne (Zumbro) Morrill of Chandler, Arizona and Douglas J. Burlander of Florida.

Delores was a member of the Methodist faith.

She graduated from Union County College in Cranford, NJ where she majored in accounting and business.

She enjoyed NASCAR racing, going to the beach and celebrating with family and friends. She was also a member of RSD Hope Foundation in Maine .

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a fiance, Ken Wall of Albrightsville, Pa., a sister, Lisa K. Weir of Lehigh Acres, Florida; a half-brother, Matthew Morrill of Randolph, NJ; maternal grandmother, Ruth Trubek of Andover, NJ, and maternal grandfather, Ray Zumbro of Boca Raton, Florida; paternal grandmother, Betty Burlander of New Port Richey, Florida; step-father, Joseph Morrill of Chandler, AZ; step-mother, Helene Cotoia of Manalapan, NJ; paternal step-grandmother, Linda Fellner of Toms River, NJ and her faithful canine companion, "Honey".

Private cremation will take place at the convenience of the family. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2000 in the United Methodist Church, 214 Sheridan Ave., Roselle, NJ. The Rev. Edna Carneal Dismus will be the officiant of the services. There will be no calling hours.

Paul H. Butler

Paul H. Butler, 81, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, March 7, 2003 in Easton Hospital.

He was a shipping clerk for Ingersoll-Rand, Rock Drill Division, in Phillipsburg for more than forty years.

Born April 18, 1921 in Belvidere, N.J., he was the son of the late Burton B. and Elizabeth Brunner Butler.

He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, where he belonged to the Over Fifties Club and was a past president and secretary of the Holy Name Society and served as a funeral altar server.

He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Pope John Paul XXIII, 669 Assembly and the Knight of Columbus, Council 474, both in Phillipsburg; an honorary life member of the Mescey-Bishop American Legion Post, Stewartsville; the Bloomsbury Golden Age Group, Belvidere Friendship Club and the Young at Heart Club.

He was a Technician, Fifth Grade in the Army and was assigned to Troop C, 23rd Calvary during World War Two. He served in the Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Rhineland and Northern France. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and the World War Two Good Conduct Medal.

His wife of forty-eight years, the late Pearl M. (Zammatore) Butler, died in 1998.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth F. Butler of Phillipsburg; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A sister, Marjorie Zukosky died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Entombment will be in Holy Apostle's Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp., N.J. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

The family requests memorials to the Karen Ann Quinlan Center of Hope Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860 or to the Mission in Antofagasta, Chile, care of the Sisters of St. Francis, 395 Bridle Path Rd, Bethlehem, PA 18017.

Pearl M. Butler

Pearl M. Butler, of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, July 19, 1998 in her home.

She was a sewing machine operator for over sixteen years for the former Easton Trouser Co., Easton.

Born in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Tommaso and Rosa Palmisano Zammatore.

She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, and was also a member is its Over-Fifties Club.

She was also a member of the Bloomsbury Golden Age Club and the Belvidere Friendship Club.

She and her husband, Paul H. Butler, observed their forty-eighth wedding anniversary April 16th.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth F. Butler, Phillipsburg; a brother, George R. Zammatore of Phillipsburg; a sister, Lucy Todaro of Easton; two grandchildren and a great-grandson. She was pre-deceased by a sister Nettie Gerbino.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Friday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Entombment will take place in The Holy Apostle's Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp., NJ. Calling hours will be held 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Patrick W. "Pat" Callery

Patrick W. "Pat" Callery, 42, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, August 8, 2003 in his home.

Pat worked as a batch maker for B.A.S.F. in Belvidere, N.J. for 14 years. He formerly worked as a direct care provider at the Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton, N.J. He was also well known for bartendering at the Hilltop in Phillipsburg for 12 years.

Born July 19, 1961 in Newport, Rhode Island, Pat was a son of the former Betty Jane Storm and the late William C. Callery.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg where he and his wife, the former Belinda K. "Bink" Olah were married December 26, 1999.

Pat belonged to the Order of Fleas in Easton and was a long-time member of the Kiss Army Fan Club.

Pat has been a big fan of the band Kiss and was well known for his imitation of band member Gene Simmons. Pat was estatic to finally got to meet Gene in person in the fall of 2002.

In addition to his wife and mother, Pat is survived by the his children he so dearly loved, Zeb, Chelsea and Shea; a brother, John F. and his wife Sandra of Upper Mount Bethel, Pa.; a sister, Kathleen Callery Fortun and her husband Richard of Medina, Ohio and a step-grandfather, Robert Firth of Phillipsburg, husband of the late Margaret D. Firth, and several nieces and nephews. He was also a God father to his nephew Jarrett Fortun and Kevin Osifchin. Pat would not want the family cat, "Binx" to be forgotten as well. His mother-in-law, Charlotte B. Olah died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, in the Grace Lutheran Church, Roseberry Street, Phillipsburg. The Rev. Llyn Lantz, pastor, will officiate the services. Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Cremation will be private following the services and burial will be in the Greenwich cemetery , Greenwich Twp., N.J.

Doris A. Calligari
Doris A. Calligari, 67, of Pohatcong Twp., NJ, died Tuesday, September 7, 1999 in Warren Hospital.

She was a waitress for many years, retiring from Warrenside Tavern in Bloomsbury over four years ago. She had also worked at La Cantina in Alpha, Holiday Inn in Phillipsburg and was a manager at 76 Truck Stop in Bloomsbury.

Born March 6, 1932 in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Rosaline Baker Wenner.

She was a former member of St. Edward's Catholic Church in Milford.

She and her husband, Francis J. observed their 48th wedding anniversary last December.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Bruce J. of Pohatcong Twp. and James R. of Saylorsburg; two sisters, Rosemarie Penna of Bethlehem Twp., PA and Betty Davis of Nazareth and two grandchildren. A brother, Robert D. died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the Fairmount cemetery , Phillipsburg. Calling hours will be held Thursday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Francis J. Calligari

Francis J. Calligari, 76, of Saylorsburg, formerly of Pohatcong Twp., died Saturday, January 28, 2006 in Wilson Borough.

His long career consisted of working as a heavy equipment operator, truck driver, owner and operator of Cal’s Service Center, Alpha, NJ, along with many years of farming.

Born January 15, 1930 in Newark, NJ, he was a son of the late Alex and Elizabeth Bacho Berkes.

He was an Army veteran.

His wife of forty-eight years, the former Doris A. Wenner died September 7, 1999.

He is survived by two sons, Bruce J. of Stewartsville and James R. and his wife Kathy of Saylorsburg; three sisters, Elizabeth Youpa of Pohatcong Twp., Julia Rossnagle of Northport Florida and Irene Butz of Altoona, Pa.; two grandchildren, Corrine Calligari and Brad Calligari and his wife Staci. A brother, Alex Berkes died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery , Phillipsburg. The family will receive visitors in the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday evening and again from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to the services.

David K. Campbell, Jr.

David K. Campbell, Jr., 89, of Pohatcong Township, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006 in Warren Hospital.

He owned and operated the former Highway Motors on Foch Blvd. in Pohatcong Township until 1995. He and his late wife, the former Lillian Penske, co-owned Lil's Antiques on Route 22 in Pohatcong Township. He once worked as a mechanic at Tersigni Oldsmobile in Phillipsburg.

Born October 27, 1917 in Burlington, NJ, he was the son of the late David K., and Emma Keller Killinger Campbell.

David served in the Army as a private from 1937 to 1939 and again as sergeant from 1941 to 1945. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War Two.

He attended the United Presbyterian Church in Alpha; was a former honorary member of V.F.W. Post 131 in Belvidere, N.J.; the Phillipsburg Senior Center Friends Club of Phillipsburg and the Phillipsburg Chapter of A.A.R.P.

He is survived by his wife, the former Carmila "Millie" (Noto) Walter; three step-sons, Douglas and his wife Helen of Easton, Alan of Wilson Borough, and Dennis of Nazareth; three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Catherine Boice, Martha Lair and Emma Lou Rains died earlier.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in Fairmount cemetery , Phillipsburg. There will be no calling hours. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is charge of the arrangements.
