Davies, Georgiana

DAVIES, GEORGIANA, AGE 84, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at the Eastern Shore Nursing Home. She was a lifetime resident of Cape May County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women; a Sunday School and Bible Vacation School Teacher and also a substitute Church secretary. She was a life member of the Middle Township Ambulance Corps; served on the Middle Township Recreation Committee and as a district board member for the Cape May County Board of Elections. She also was a committee woman for the Middle Township Democratic Club; a life member serving over sixty five years of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 198 filling every office from Sgt. at Arms to the President, and then being past president and chaplain, and served as chaplain on the county level for two years, and was a past president of the Middle Township Schools PTA.

Mrs. Davies is survived by two sons: Clarence, Jr. "Butch" and his wife, Patricia, of Cape May Court House, and George James of Savannah, GA; five grandchildren: Sean, Ryan and Tara Davies, Scott and his wife, Tammy Davies, and Steve and his wife, Nicole Davies; and three great grandchildren: Alexis, Trent and Dirk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, Sr. and a daughter in law, Carol.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at 10 am at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ. Interment will be in the Tabernacle Methodist cemetery, Erma. A viewing will be held on Monday evening 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday morning 9 to 10 am at the Radzieta Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 198, c/o 805 Bennett Road; or to the First United Methodist Church, 1 Church Street; or The Middle Township Ambulance Corps, Box 331; or the Middle Township Recreation Department, 626 Goshen Road, all in Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Davis, Thomas M.

Thomas M. Davis, 53, of North Wildwood, NJ, died on Friday, September 2, 2005, at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House, NJ. He was born in Camden, NJ, and lived most of his life in Cape May County. He was the son of James and Anna Marie Fitzgerald Davis, who preceded him in death.

He was a self employed contractor and a member of Local #14 Heat and Frost Insulators. He served in the US Army. He enjoyed playing guitar and shooting pool.

He is survived by a brother, James C. and his wife, Sandy, of Ventnor, a sister, Anna M. Hand of West Wildwood, and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 9, 2005, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ. Interment is private. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, 1660 Duke St., Alexandria, VA 22314.

Davis, Walter A.

DAVIS, on December 16, 2002, Walter A. of Marlton, NJ. Formerly of Haddonfield, NJ. Age 81. Beloved husband of Sandra (nee Deschler). Loving father of Matthew U. Davis of Marlton. Davis, Danaisia Nina Nicole

Danaisia Nina Nicole Davis, age 3 of Long Branch departed this life on Friday, October 6, 2006 at Children's Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. She leaves to cherish her memory are her mother, Andrina David; her father, Daniel Davis; her paternal grandmother, Brenda Davis with whom she lived; her maternal grandparents, Fawn David and Doug Westbrook; an aunt, Whitney David and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousin, and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave on the corner of Third Ave, Long Branch on Friday, October 13, from 11 am until the time of service at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.

Davis, Malcolm A.

Malcolm A. Davis, age 79 of Long Branch died Thursday, July 5, 2007 at Monmouth Care Center, Long Branch. He was a self employed maintenance worker. Mr. Davis served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Born in Boston, Mass. he had been a resident of the shore area for 50 years.

Surviving are his wife of twenty five years, Jennie May Parker-Davis; a beloved niece and caretaker, Andrea Stokes-Jones and husband, Henry, Jackson. Three sisters-in-law, Lugene Stokes, Long Branch; Lucielle Brewer, Marlton; Catherine Coleman; Columbus, Miss.; brother-in-law, Ray Parker, Benton Harbor, MI. Nieces, Beverly Stokes-Bullett and husband David, Plainfield; Currie Jean Brewer-Fisher and husband John, Marlton. Nephew, Michael Jones, Long Branch and a host of extended family and friends.

Davis, Winifred

Davis, Winifred, 89, of Cape May Court House, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Eastern Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Washington D.C. to the late Robert Davis and Catherine Brown and worked as a private homemaker in Philadelphia before moving to New Jersey. She loved playing solitaire, keno, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Bette Saunders, John Davis, and Robert Davis; along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband John and children Priscilla and Shirley.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 1:00 pm at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210; and visitation will begin at 12:00 noon. Interment will be private.

DAVIS, WILLIAM M., Sr., on February 10, 2010, of Voorhees, NJ. Age 93. Beloved husband of Ruth G. (nee Graham). Loving father of William M. Davis Jr. (Arlene), Lynda R. White (John), Robert G. Davis, Osley, 88, of Woodbine, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Born in Montclair to Smitty and Ola White, she lived in Philadelphia and later moved to the area in the 1950's. She worked for the Woodbine Developmental Center and later worked for the Boro of Woodbine, volunteering help with elections and serving on the Ambulance Corps.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Charine (Peter) Toney and Tracy Gordon, both of Cape May Court House; her great grandchildren, Cory, Petie, and Jalen; daughter-in-law Blanche Gordon; special adopted daughter Theresa Moore; Godchild Sandy Woods; special caretaker Mia; and a host of other adopted grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, January 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Woodbine, Adams and Longfellow Streets, Woodbine, NJ 08270. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Woodbine cemetery.

RICHARD H. DAVIS JR. of Shamong, NJ, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 7th, 2008 at the Cooper Medical Center in Camden, NJ. He was 58 yrs. of age. Born in Phila., PA, he has resided in Shamong for the past 30 yrs. where he was involved with the Indian Mills Athletic Assoc. as a baseball coach. He attended Cherry Hill Baptist Church and graduated from Cherry Hill H.S. He attended Bethel College in McKenzie, TN. He ministered for many years in the Immanuel Chapter of Alcoholic's Victorious and was involved with the Colony of Mercy at America's Keswick. He is the President and owner of Quint Co. in Phila., PA, a family owned business in the printing plate & graphics business and is a member of Shawnee Baptist Church. He is the Beloved husband of Mary A. Davis (Nee Steber) of Shamong and the Loving Father of Zachary P., Kariann E. and Michele M. Davis all at home. He is also survived by his Father Richard H. Davis Sr. and his sister Carolyn Cannavo of Moorestown, NJ. Edward S. Davis, Jr., 50, of Whitesboro, NJ, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Stacey Davis; his father, Edward Davis Sr.; grandmother, Winneford Davis; seven brothers and sisters; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held on Friday, November 30, 2007, at 10:30 AM at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. Interment will be private.

Davison, Robert D.

Robert D. Davison, age 67 of Oakhurst, NJ died Tuesday, November 25, at the Center for Hospice Care at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, after a short battle with lung cancer. Mr. Davison was an avid gardener and delighted in growing a yard full of vegetables and flowers. He donated vegetables to the Mercy Center of Asbury Park and the Long Branch Food Bank. He adored his dog Maggie. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hawkins-DDR-873. He was a local, second generation remodeling/building contractor for 35 years, building homes in Elberon, Deal, Oakhurst and Neptune.

He is predeceased by his parents Orien and Lillian Davison, and his sister Ann. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Ruth Brunair Davison, and his son, Daniel Robert, and daughter Linda, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Gertrude and Walker Clayton and Bette and Herman Auerback all of Florida. He had one grandchild, Ashley, whom he loved dearly. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

DAWSON, JEAN C. (nee Curtis), on August 22, 2008, of Marlton, NJ. Formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ. Age 75. Wife of the late James E. Dawson. Beloved mother of James A. Dawson (Fiona) of Collingswood, NJ, Nancy Oliver (Charles) of Sicklerville, NJ, John Dawson of Haddon Twp., and Nathan Dawson (Timon) of Columbus, OH. Loving grandmother of Olivia, Lanna, Ashton and Logan Dawson, and Christopher Oliver. Also survived by her sister and brothers, Mabel Schlauch, and Stanley and George Curtis. Dawson, Joe Earle

Joe Earle Dawson, 94, of Dennis Township, died on Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. He was born in Bloomsburg, PA and lived here for the past 15 years, moving from Florida. He previously lived in Mystic Island and Waldwick, NJ. He had a military career spanning forty four years in the United States Navy. He was a lifemember of the United States Submarine Veterans of World War II; the V.F.W., and past chaplain of NYC; the DAV Post 44 of the Villas and the Holland Club. He was also a member of the United States Subvets Inc.; the Fleet Reserve Association Post 232; the Navy League; the NCOA and was the recipient of the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal. He fought in the War of Nicaragua in 1927 and World War II; served in the Pacific Theater in World War II; was provost marshall of New Caledonia in 1944-45. He was a New Jersey State Policeman and then served with the New Jersey State Marine Police. He was a proud American, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who will be dearly missed by his family and friends alike.

Mr. Dawson is survived by his wife, Joan Herrmann Dawson; a daughter, Joan DuVall of New Berlin, NY; a brother, Jack of Bloomsburg, PA; three sisters, Jean Banks of Chambersburg, PA, Dorothy Merritt of Danville, PA, and Dawn Moore of Bloomsburg, PA; eleven grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Agnes and his second wife, Grace and two sons, John and Donald.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Interment is private. Memorial donations may be made to the one's favorite charity.

Cecil D. Day, 92, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Cape Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House. Born in Clearwater, NE, he has lived here for the past eleven years coming from Philadelphia, PA. He was a self employed truck mechanic and a World War II Marine Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marie (nee Heffron); his son, Stephen of Clearwater, FL; his four daughters, Robin Hutchins of Cape May Court House, NJ, Kathleen Bozdemir of Philadelphia, PA, Denise Chest of Levittown, PA, and Lorraine Walker of Leeds, MA; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Sean, Shannon, Johnny, Crystal, Erica, Ian, Savannah and Ryan.

Barbara Elise Day, age 75, of Long Branch died, Monday, February 5, 2007 in Florida. Born in Long Branch, she had lived in Orange Park, Florida since 1993. She was predeceeded in death by her husbands, Lawrence Sheard and George Day and a son, Erin Sheard. Surviving is a son, Lawrence Sheard; 2 daughters, Diane Pressley-Capers and Tanya Sheard; a sister Joan Bradley; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24, at 12 pm from the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third), Long Branch.
