Compton, Margaret W.

Margaret W. (Dey) Compton, 98, of Dias Creek, died Sunday, July 14, 2002. Born in 1904 at Rock Creek, MN, she moved to Crosswicks, NJ at age 7. After graduating with honors from Bordentown High School, she attended Trenton State Normal School, where she developed a love for art and acting, and graduated in 1923.

She began her career, which was to span 50 years in a two-room school in Dias Creek, teaching grades one through eight. Subsequently she taught and was principal in Green Creek, Rio Grande, Belleplain, and Cape May Court House. In the years preceding her retirement, she taught sixth grade in Dias Creek and Cape May Court House. Having retired in 1973, she took great pride in having many students keep in touch until her death.

She traveled in all 50 states, South America, Australia, Europe, cruised on Queen Elizabeth II, and took and African Safari. She lectured about them to local groups. At age 96 she took her first balloon ride. She kept an interest in acting by directing and acting in local productions. She continued her physical workouts twice a week at Fitness First until June 11, 2002.

She was Master Lecturer of Dias Creek Grange, a Past President of PTA, a member of the NJ Retired Teachers Association, Order of the Eastern Star #156, charter member of Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Dias Creek United Methodist Church, and the 5 Point Club of Avalon.

The widow of the late LeRoy Compton, a dairy farmer and restaurant owner, is survived by their son, L. Rodney Compton, an attorney in Maryland; grandsons, Mark R. Compton of Georgia, and Bryan S. Compton of Maryland; great granddaughters, Amanda M. Compton, and Samantha F. Compton; and great grandson, Daniel R. Compton.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2002 at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House. Interment will be at Old Trinity Church in Church Creek, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Dias Creek United Methodist Church, c/o Ethel Taylor, 77 Springers Mill Road, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. A memorial service at the church honoring her life will be announced in early fall.

Comstock, Donna U.

DONNA U. COMSTOCK, (Nee Urquhart) of Marlton, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 11th, 2007. She was 75 yrs. of age. Born in Schenectady, NY, she has resided in Marlton for the past 48 yrs. She is the daughter of the late Donald C. & Annie Urquhart and the wife of the late Richard A. Comstock. A former Teachers Aide she worked for many years with Old Marlton School on Maple Avenue. She is the beloved mother of David & Tom Comstock of Marlton, NJ and Rick Comstock of Napoleon, OH. She is also survived by her Grandchildren Dana Marie Lindsey, Nicholas Anthony Comstock, Duncan Spencer Comstock and Daniel Steven Mohr and her Great Grandchildren Madison Nichole Lindsey and Joseph Michael Lindsey. Relatives and friends are invited Funeral Service on Wednesday at 2:30 PM in the chapel at the B.G. Wm. Doyle Veterans Memorial cemetery in Arneytown, NJ. Conard, Rose Mildred

Rose Mildred Conard (Nee Foster) of Lumberton, NJ lost her battle with cancer on Thursday, November 8, 2001 at her home in Lumberton, NJ. She was 90 years of age. Born in the Camden, New Jersey she has resided in Lumberton for the past 60 years. A retired LPN she worked for the Lenape Medical Center in Marlton, NJ for 25 years retiring in 1985. Prior to this she worked for the Burlington County Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, NJ for 19 years. She was a member of the Marlton United Methodist Church. She was the wife of the late Morris S. Conard Sr. and the mother of the late John Edward Gray. She is survived by her sons Morris S. Conard Jr. of Kissimee, FL and O. Bruce Conard and his wife Barbara of Lumberton, NJ, her daughter-in-law Louise Gray of Old Bridge, NJ and also 3 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday from 1:30 - 2:00 PM at the Marlton United Methodist Church Plymouth Dr. and Marlborough Ave. Marlton, NJ where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM. CONATSER, on October 6, 2001, Lily C. (Nee Hamilton) of Blue Anchor, NJ, formerly of Sewell, NJ age 73 yrs. Wife of the late Woodrow Conatser. Loving mother of John R. Cordero of Blue Anchor, NJ and Robin R. Cordero of Waterford, NJ. Also survived by her Step-son Paul Wolbert of Tampa, FL, her mother Mildred Hartley of Blue Anchor, NJ, her brother John Hamilton of Blue Anchor, NJ, her sister Mary Lou Glatz of Mercer Island, WA, three Grandchildren John Cordero Jr. of Ft. Bragg, NC, Margie Cordero of Egg Harbor, NJ and Henry Cordero of Cecil, NJ and also 4 Great Grandchildren. Concillio, Rose

Concillio, Rose passed away in Delray Beach, Florida on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 20, 1911 to James and Maria Matteo. Rose was preceded in death by her husband Leon Concillio in 1964. A long time resident of Thorofare, New Jersey; she moved to Florida in 2001. Rose is survived by her loving daughter Alberta Romean of Delray Beach; beloved granddaughter Regina and son-in-law Joseph deMartino of Parkland, FL with cherished great granddaughter Erica. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 6:00-8:00pm at Bradley Funeral Home (856-983-1005), Marlton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday, September 29, 2008 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Haddonfield. She will be laid to rest at New St. Mary's cemetery in Bellmawr. We will forever miss our beautiful Rose.

Confalone, Daniel A.

DANIEL A. CONFALONE, 78, of Wildwood Crest, NJ, died on Friday, December 8, 2006, at his home. He was born in Rosetto, Italy and lived in Philadelphia, Pa. and Seaville, NJ prior to moving here ten years ago.. He was a member of St. Ann's R.C. Church. He was a retired pipefitter for the Allied Chemical Company and served in the US Navy.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Elizabeth A. Corcoran; a son: Philip; a sister, Phyl Mariotti; eight stepchildren and nineteen stepgrandchildren.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at 11:00 am at St. Ann's R.C. Church, 2901 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ where friends may visit 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Atlanticcare Hospice, 1406 Doughty Road, Pleasanville, NJ 08232.

Conine, Lewis A.

Lewis A. Conine, 87, of Stone Harbor, died December 10, 2002 at his home after a long illness. He was born in Philadelphia and later lived in Glenside, PA. He attended Drexel Institute and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.

He served his country in World War II with the 11th Armored Division in Normandy, Germany, and in the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium, and recently received the Normandy Medal.

His career field was the graphic arts, retiring from the N.W. Ayer Advertising Agency in 1974.

He enjoyed 27 wonderful years of retirement in Stone Harbor. He served 13 years on the town's Zoning Board and was formerly a member of the Emergency Management Team. He loved boating and fishing all his life, with many hours spent on the ocean off South Jersey and later in the back bay of Stone Harbor. He enjoyed sharing his catch with his friends and neighbors.

He is survived by a daughter, Patricia in Sarasota, FL; a brother, Jack of Stone Harbor and many wonderful friends in this area, plus cousins and friends inland.

Lew was a very kind and loving gentleman.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, December 13, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House. Interment at the Cape May County Veterans cemetery will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9, Swainton, NJ 08210 or the Stone Harbor Rescue Squad, or a charity or church of one's choice.

Conklin, Robert I.

CONKLIN, Robert I., on January 26, 2002 at the age of 95. He was a resident of Mt. Laurel, NJ. Formerly of Port Jervis and Newburgh, NY and Port Orange, FL. Mr. Conklin was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Port Jervis, and Newburgh, NY. Beloved husband of the late Olive Irene (nee Culver). He is survived by his son, Walter R. Conklin and his wife, Patricia of Marlton, NJ, 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 Noon on Saturday February 9, 2002 at the Westbrookville United Methodist Church, Westbrookville, NY. Burial will follow in the Westbrookville cemetery. Conklin, Patricia Ann

Patricia Ann Conklin, 49, of Voorhees, NJ died on Saturday, October 5, 2002 at her home. She was daughter of Fred and Evelyn DiSantis; Mother of Denice Tribuiani of Philadelphia and Melissa Conklin; Grandmother of Albert and Tiffany; Sister of Helen Costantino, Robert, Ronald, Gary and Sandra Conklin, Fred DiSantis III, MaryAnn Franconeri, Janice DeSorte, Christine DiSantis and the late, Walter Conklin III.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation on Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10AM at the Church of St. Agnes. Interment will take place privately. Conlan, Anna Emily

CONLAN, on November 4, 2001, Anna Emily (nee Basiura) of Cherry Hill, formerly of Voorhees and Philadelphia. Age 81. Beloved wife of the late James V. Conlan. She is survived by her children, Anna Marie Mali of Blackwood, Joseph Conlan of Horsham PA, Patricia Conlan-Reimers of Clayton NJ and Maryann Injaian of Cherry Hill NJ and 12 grandchildren. Also survived by 2 brothers, Walter and Joseph Basiura and 1 sister, Helen Good. Conlin, James D.

James D. Conlin, 82, of Stone Harbor, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Cape Regional Medical Center. He was born in Pawtucket, RI and lived in Stone Harbor for 39 years after moving here from Mercersburg, PA. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Germany and Eisenhower's Headquarters in France. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, where he was a lector, Eucharistic minister, and director of acolytes.

Mr. Conlin received his Master's Degree in Education from Shippensburg University. He was the head of the math department and basketball coach at Mercersburg Academy. He was a teacher at Middle Township High School from 1970 to 1992. During that time, he served as head of the business department, basketball coach, and Senior Class Advisor. He also ran the English Exchange Student Program. He was head of the ushers at the Performing Arts Center in Middle Township. He was also a member of the Stone Harbor American Legion.

Mr. Conlin is survived by his wife of 52 years, Martha (Price) Conlin; his son, Jeffrey P. Conlin and wife Dori of Cape May Court House; his daughter Andrea Clare O'Hearn and husband William of Barrington, RI; his sister Clare Harrison King of Florida; and his six grandchildren, Benjamin, Peter, Reilly, Cory, Tyler, and William.

A Memorial Service for Jim will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, 9910 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Church or the Cape May County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, DN 501B, 4 Moore Road, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Conlow, Francis "Pete"

Francis "Pete" Conlow, formerly of Cape May Court House, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2003 in San Diego, CA. Born in Pennsylvania to the late Aloysius and Hilda (Kintzley) Conlow, he lived in Cape May Court House for 30 years before moving to San Diego a year and a half ago. He was a retired police officer for Stone Harbor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cape May Court House. He was a avid photographer.

Mr. Conlow is survived by his children, Stephen Conlow of Huntingdon, PA, Ann Louise Conlow of San Diego, CA, Edgar Conlow of Cape May Court House, and Andrew Conlow of Leesburg; his brother, Fred Conlow of Swainton; and his eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Louise Conlow on February 6, 2002.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be on Monday, October 13, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Baptist cemetery, Cape May Court House. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 North West 9th Avenue, Miami, FL 33136.

Conlow, Ann Louise

Ann Louise Conlow, 68, of Cape May Court House, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at Linwood Convalescent Center. Born in Riverside, NJ, she was a lifetime resident of Cape May Court House. She was a supervisor at the Woodbine Developmental Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cape May Court House.

Mrs. Conlow is survived by her husband, Francis "Pete" Conlow; her children, Stephen Conlow of Huntingdon, PA, Ann Louise Conlow of San Diego, CA, Edgar Conlow of Dennis Township, and Drew Conlow of Leesburg; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 101 South Main Street, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Baptist cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church, 101 South Main Street, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Conn, Elmer

CONN, on March 26, 2002, Elmer of Voorhees. Age 85. Beloved husband of Stella Conn (nee Binowski). Loving father of Christine C. Ewert and her husband, Donald and William J. Conn and his wife, Ruth. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Waidley and a grandson, Joseph Conn. Mr. Conn was born and raised in Philadelphia, lived in Deer Park (Cherry Hill) and was a 48 year resident of Voorhees. He was a Surgical Instrument Maker for Pillings of Phila PA and Weck of North Carolina, retiring 20 years ago. Connelly, John Owen

CONNELLY, John Owen of Marlton, NJ, passed away at his home on Monday October 1, 2001. He was 85. John previously lived in Fairview and Philadelphia. He was the warehouse superintendent of Frankford-Quaker Grocery Co. in Phila., PA for many yrs. Husband of Ethel for 59 yrs. Loving father of John F. (Beverly) of Burlington, NJ, James M., Esq (Katherine) of Malvern, PA, and Maryellen Connelly of Voorhee s, NJ. Brother of Ann M. Lafferty of Phila. Also survived by his grandchildren, Angela, Christine, and Lauren, and his great grandchild, Luciano. Conner, Grace D.

Grace D. Conner, 92, a longtime resident of Stone Harbor Manor, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2002 at The Shores at Weslay Manor in Ocean City. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ and moved to this area in 1947.

Grace held a Masters degree in Reading education from Paterson College and was an elementary teacher in North Wildwood, Sussex and Wildwood Crest. She was active in the PTA and school trips.

In addition to being very active in education, she played the piano and organ. Her organ career began playing for silent movies and continued being church organist and choir director until her retirement. She played at many churches, including Flemington, St. Simeon's By The Sea Episcopal Church in North Wildwood, First Presbyterian Church in Sussex, First Baptist Church of Wildwood, Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Stone Harbor, and as a substitute at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Stone Harbor.

Grace was an avid traveler having seen most, if not all of the United States in her lifetime, as well as Europe, Africa, China, Australia, and New Zealand. She especially enjoyed her travels in India.

Grace is survived by her sons, James H. Conner II of Winchester, VA, Ronald Conner and his wife, Ardis of Egg Harbor Township, and Keith Conner and his wife, Ellen of South Dennis; her three grandsons, Sean, Troy, and Chris Conner; and her two great granddaughters, Rachel and Ravyn Conner. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Harold Conner, superintendent of schools in Middle Township.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 95th Street and Third Avenue, Stone Harbor. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Mary's Episcopal Church Building Fund, 9425 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ 08247.

Conner, Diane M.

CONNER, Diane M. (nee Miller) on August 22, 2005, of Marlton NJ. Age 53. Beloved wife of James M. Conner of Marlton. Loving mother of Corinne M. Blake (Michael), Thomas S. Conner, James M. Conner, Jr. (Danielle) and Brian A. Conner. Dear daughter of the late Thomas C. Miller and Helene C. McBride and her husband, Joseph. She is the sister of the late T.C. Miller and survived by 2 sisters, Eileen M. Powell (John) and Holly J. Moles (Joseph) and 2 grandchildren, James III and Michael. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. A graduate of Pennsauken High School class of 1970, Diane has lived in Marlton for about 20 years. Devoted to her family, Diane had a love for life, and she brought happiness into the lives of many people. Conner, Johanna

Joanna Conner, 79, of South Dennis, NJ, died on Friday, September 10, 2004, at the Eastern Shore Nursing and Convalescent Center, Cape May Court House, NJ. Born in Woodbine, NJ, she has been a lifetime county resident.

She is survived by her sons: Joseph and John; daughters: Elizabeth, Johanna, Catherine, Carmella, Joy, Margaret, and Jacklyn; brother: Frank; loving companion and friend: Robert Van Artsdalen; 17 grandchildren including one special granddaughter, Christina Ayala; and several great grandchildren.

As Johanna herself requested, interment alongside her husband shall be private in Union cemetery, South Dennis, NJ.

Connor, Nancy C. (nee Brady)

Age 81, died on July 20, 2009 after complications from surgery. Predeceased by her beloved husband John. Formerly from Phila., they lived in Magnolia for 52 years. Survived by brother Jim and his wife Polly. Loving mother of Kathleen Pappert (Carl), Jack Connor, Nancy Lewis and Geri (David Zechmeister). Devoted grandmother of William and John Pappert, Tam Start, and Jenn Yocum. Proud great-grandmother of eight. She loved to bake and cook. Her home was always open to others who looked forward to the great times she created in her own very special way. She lived with her daughter Nancy for the past two years and enjoyed many happy gatherings surrounded by her loving family. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation Friday, July 24, 2009, 6-7:30pm at the BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, Rt 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton, followed by the Memorial Service at 7:30pm.
