Chew, Betty Lou

Betty Lou Chew, 73, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Friday, June 2, 2006, in the Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Born in Lykens, PA, she was a lifetime Cape May County resident. She had worked for Wheaton Candle Co., a member of South Jersey Mustang Club, enjoyed fishing, reading, collecting Disney memorabilia, and loved country music.

She is survived by her two sons: Curtis (Donna), and Bobby of Cape May Court House, NJ; two daughters: Bonnie (John) Kohler of Petersburg, NJ, and Totty (Chuck) Conte of Cape May Court House, NJ; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 8, 2006 at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, where relatives and friends may call after 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Cape May County Veterans cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ.

Chew, Elwood

Elwood Chew, 73, a life long resident of Williamstown, died Friday, November 16, 2001, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden. He worked as an equipment operator for American Dredging in Camden and then Monroe Twp. Road Dept. for 16 years, retiring in 1994. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Betty (nee Mack); one son Tom, two daughters Kathy and Barbara, all of Williamstown; eleven grandchildren Tracy, Dan, James, Scott, Jaclynn, Joe, Nick, Vicky, Cherish, Heaven and Hunter; four great grandchildren; dear brother to R. Earl Chew of Milford, DE, Edith Straub of Cape May and the late Edward. A viewing will be held 6-8PM Monday and 10-11AM Tuesday at the BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, 420 South Main St., Williamstown, where services will be at 11AM. Interment Methodist cemetery, Williamstown.

Chew, Frank B.

Frank B. Chew, 61, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. He was a resident at Oceana Nursing Home. He was a lifetime Cape May County resident, and was employed as a truck driver previously at the Rio Grande Concrete Company. He attended Seashore Community Church and First Methodist of Cape May Court House.

He is survived by his brother William of Rhode Island; and sisters: Margaret Walsh of Del Haven, NJ, Barbara DiMedio of Villas, NJ, and Patricia Lawrence of Maine.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 2:00 PM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, where relatives and friends may call after 1:00 PM. Interment in Tabernacle cemetery, Erma, NJ.

CHEWKANES, Kevin P.

On April 1, 2005 of Eatontown, NJ, formerly of Lindenwold. Age 55. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth. Loving father of Robert (Susan) Coulter of Eatontown and George Chewkanes of Lindenwold. Brother of Michael (Lori) Chewkanes of Cherry Hill. Son of the late John and Patricia Chewkanes. Kevin served in the Army in Vietnam, and was a Chef at the Hideout in Mt Laurel for a number of years. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing 10-11am Wednesday at the BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, Rt 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton. Funeral Service 11am Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Chiaro, Elea F.

Elea F. Chiaro, 48, of Green Creek, died on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Campbell and her son, William Chiaro. Services and interment are private.

Childres, Violet Irons

Violet M. Irons Childres age 80 of Long Branch died Monday, June 19, 2006 at Imperial Health Care Center, Neptune. Born in Long Branch, she was a life resident of the area. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel in 1983, a son, Daniel in 1964 and a daughter Linda 2001.

Surviving are 2 sons, Thomas Childres, and David Childres and a daughter Jean De Marzo, all Long Branch; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday June 21 from 7-9 pm from Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, on the corner of Third Ave, Long Branch.

Alfred H. "Rick" Childs

Former PA State Official

Col. A. H. "Rick" Childs, USAF (Ret) of Cape May County, NJ, died of cancer Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Lankenau Hospital. Born in Delaware County, PA to Rose (Todd) and Alfred Childs, Sr., he resided in Rose Tree-Media area, later living in Harrisburg and Pittsburgh areas in PA prior to relocating to Cape May area in 1984. Col. Childs attended Chester High School, PA Military College and held a B.S. degree from University of Tennessee.

As an officer in the Army Air Corps and U S Air Force, he served as Command Pilot and Operations Officer with the 410th Bomb Group, Ninth Air Force in the European Theater in WW II piloting A-20 aircraft in 51 bombing missions over enemy territory. During his active duty and reserve Air Force career he was awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses, the Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze stars along with the National Defense Service Medal and numerous decorations for service in world-wide campaigns. His extraordinary skills in night intruder air attack were utilized during the Korean Conflict when he was based at Langley Air Force Base, VA training pilots for specialized night missions, and later in serving as command pilot attached to Military Airlift Command for supply missions to Viet Nam.

He served in civilian capacities as Director, PA DOT Bureau of Aviation (1972-79) when he became President of National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO), and later was selected as Executive Director of Cape May County Airport and Economic Development Commission (1983-1986) and in recent years was affiliated with Michael Baker Engineering, AvPlan, McCormick, Taylor & Associates as V. Pres, Frederic R. Harris and, for five years immediately preceding his death, with L. Robert Kimball & Associates.

During his tenure as Bureau of Aviation chief, he was selected to serve as a member and later as chair of the National Academy of Science's Transportation Research Board Committee on Intergovernmental Relations with Aviation. He was awarded Chairman Emeritus status in 2003 in recognition of 27 years of dedicated service to the TRB. Additionally, he volunteered as a member/officer of organizations including past President-Jersey Cape Chapter of Military Officers' Association of America (TROA), South Jersey Chapter MOAA, current President-Air Force Assn. (B/G E. Wade Hampton Chapter), member-NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum, Order of Daedalians, Quiet Birdmen-Philadelphia Hangar, Aviation Committee member-DVRPC and numerous other aviation-related and civic organizations.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Price); his children Theodore (Susan) Childs, Christina (Peter) MacNeill, Richard (Michelle) Childs, two step-children and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tues, Mar. 20, visitation at 11:30, service at 12 Noon, Guardian of the Sea Chapel, US Coast Guard Training Center, Cape May, NJ. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Air Heritage, Inc., specify "The A-20 Fund", 35 Piper Street, Beaver County Airport, Beaver Falls, PA 15010; a non-profit organization whose members and funds are dedicated to full airworthy status restoration of their A-20 airplane, as Rick would have flown it.

Chislom, Noquenthea L.

Noquenthea L. Chislom, 38, of Wildwood, died on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. She was born in Cape May Court House and was a lifetime resident of this area. She was a graduate of Wildwood High School and Atlantic Cape Community College. She was a member of Eureka Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, devoted to all children, even those that were not her own.

She is survived by her sons, D'Von Chislom and Dante' Chislom, both at home; her mother, Peggy Chislom of Wildwood; her brothers, Tobias Chislom of Wildwood, Derreck Dorsky of Woodbine, and Damian Fashaw of Woodbine; her grandmother, Agnes Fashaw of Miami, FL; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. at Eureka Baptist Church, 142 West Spencer Avenue, Wildwood, NJ 08260, where visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Seaside cemetery, Palermo.

Chiusano, Antoinette C.

CHIUSANO on Feb. 7, 2004 Antoinette C. nee Magistro of Marlton age 81 wife of the late Henry and survived by her children Raymond & Marianne Chiusano of Voorhees, Annette Chiusano of Marlton & Rosemary & Peter Billert of Rockport, MA, and a grandson John Billert and 5 brothers & 2 sisters. Antoinette had a passion for gardening and was active in the Garden Club of Marlton and formerly active in the HOPE Bereavement Group. Chojnacki, Rita

CHOJNACKI, RITA, age 74, a long-time resident of Pennsauken, NJ, died on Sunday, February 14, 2010.

She was born in Camden, NJ, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Milewski Duraczynski.

Rita was a member of St. Cecelia's R.C. Church. She was a retired Senior Unit Secretary at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for thirty five years. She enjoyed working with crafts and gardening.

She is survived by four children: Daniel J., Jr. and his wife, Bindi of Chester Springs, PA; Matthew P. and his wife, Mary Ann of Ridgefield, CT; Cindy Stremmel and her husband, Eric of Sewell and Linda Harrington and her husband, Rich of Mantua; a brother, Edward (Donna) Duraczynski of LA; a sister, Gloria Cannon (Donald) of Gloucester Township; a brother in law, Raymond Bodziuch of Haddon Heights; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Megan, Rich, Eric, Joey, Trevor and Connor.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J., Sr.; a granddaughter, Kimberly and a sister, Isabell Bodziuch.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 11 am at Mary Queen of All Saints Church, (St. Cecelia's), 4824 Camden Ave., Pennsauken, NJ 08110 where friends may call 10 to 11 am. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ. Memorials may be made to Sol Amor Hospice, 1415 Hooper Ave., Toms River, NJ 08752.

Chojnacki, Sr., Daniel Joseph

Daniel Joseph Chojnacki, Sr., age 76, of Pennsauken, NJ, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at his home. He was born in Camden, NJ, the son of the late Ignatius and Mary Wasiolek Chojnacki.

He was a member of St. Cecelia's R.C. Church, where he ushered. He was a Tuesday night bowler, and enjoyed his grandchildren. Dan served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a retired bartender having worked at the Colonial Cafe in Woodbury, NJ.

He is survived by his wife, Rita (nee Duraczynski); four children: Daniel Joseph, Jr. (Bindi) of Chester Springs, PA, Cindy (Eric) Stremmel of Sewell, NJ, Linda (Rich) Harrington of Mantua, NJ, and Dr. Matthew P. (Mary Ann) of Ridgefield, CT; one brother: Stanley (Gertrude) of Pennsauken; and six grandchildren: Jessica, Megan, Rich, Eric, Joey, and Trevor. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberly.

The Funeral Liturgy will be said on Monday, July 9, 2007, at 12:00 noon at St. Cecelia's R.C. Church, 4810 Camden Av., Pennsauken, NJ, where friends may visit 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment in St. Joseph's cemetery, Chew's Landing, NJ. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 600 White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ 08106.

Cholke, Rev. Dr. Robert W.

CHOLKE, The Rev. Dr. Robert W. suddenly on April 25, 2007, of Voorhees NJ, formerly of Lansdowne PA. Age 67. Beloved husband of Joanne Stewart Martindale. Loving father of Michael R. Cholke and the late Philip C. Cholke and loving stepfather of Quinn and Ryan Martindale-George. Dear brother of Linda Gierlach and her husband, Ronald and the late Edward Cholke. He is also survived by several loving family members and friends. Rev. Cholke was the Director of Pastoral Care and ACPE Supervisor at Cooper Hospital for over 15 years and prior to that at Haverford State Hospital, Haverford PA. He was the former pastor for 25 years of Immanuel Lutheran Church, E. Lansdowne PA. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday May 3 from 6-9pm at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 and Evesham Rd. Marlton. A viewing will be held Friday May 4 from 10am-1pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church E. Lansdowne PA where a Service of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1pm. Interment will be private Saturday at Colestown cemetery, Cherry Hill. If desired, donations may be made in Bob's memory to ACPE 1549 Clairmont Rd. Suite 103 Decatur GA 30033-4611 for the benefit of CPE students.

Choras, Peter

Peter Choras age 85 of Long Branch died at home in the early morning hours on April 19. He was born in Newark, and had lived in Greece before coming to Long Branch in 1950. He attended Athens College, Athens, Greece, Union Theological Seminary, New York and New York University. He was a self employed businessman. He was a lover of travel, family and will forever be in our hearts. Mr. Choras was a member St George Greek Orthodox Church, Asbury Park.

Having the amazing soul of a writer, poet, artist, musician and philosopher, Peter is survived by his wife of 58 years Catherine Choras, a son Dimitri Choras,

a daughter Irene Choras Tsakiris, 3 granddaughters, Alexia, Katina, and Chryssa Tsakiris.

The family will receive visitors at their home on Tuesday April 22, from 3-7 pm. There will be a service on Wednesday April 23, at 10:15 am at St George Greek Orthodox Church, 700 Grand Ave, Asbury Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to St Basils Academy, RR9, Box D, Garrison, NY 10524 or Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Ave, New York, NY 10021-6007. Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch is in charge of the arrangements.

Christensen, Ralph T.

CHRISTENSEN, RALPH T. on April 1, 2004 at the Masonic Home in Burlington Twp., NJ formerly of Ellentown, FL, Collingswood, NJ and Brooklawn, NJ. Age 80 years. Beloved husband of the late Ella (nee Dundrea). Dear brother of Thomas and his wife Dorothy of Shrewsbury, NJ. Also survived by nieces Lynda Lathrop and her husband Franklin Jr. of Marlton, Joanne Brooks, Nancy Cavallaro and her husband Frank of Brooklawn, Janice Hill and her husband Wayne of Gloucester City, Judy Wink and her husband Robert of Ohio, Amanda Kruskal and her husband Joel of NY city and Susan Sheridan and her husband Richard of Neptune and nephews Chris Christensen and Cal Dundrea and his wife Mary of Pitman and numerous grand nieces and nephews. Prior to retirement, Ralph was employed as a manager at Keystone Lighting in Philadelphia, PA. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #15 of Haddonfield/Cherry Hill for over 40 years and a member of the South Jersey Officiating Association for many years. He was also a United States Army/Air Force Veteran of WWII. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday from 10-11 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt 73 S. and Evesham Rd. in Marlton. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson, NJ. Christensen, Roberta "Bobbi" Elizabeth

Roberta Elizabeth "Bobbi" Christensen, 49, of Okeechobee, FL, formerly of Rio Grande, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009. She was born in Cape May Court House and lived in Rio Grande before moving to Okeechobee five years ago. She enjoyed crocheting and playing video games especially pogo. She was formerly employed at the Middle Township Schools and the Township of Middle. She was a terrific mother to her own children and her children's friends. She loved her co-workers and was always there to help. She loved flowers.

Bobbi is survived by her husband of 31 years, Eric E. Christensen; her children, Diane (Robert) Gery of Rio Grande; Eric (Ashley) Christensen of Florida, Edward (Alicia) Christensen of Villas, and Todd (Kristin) Christensen of Cape May Court House; her mother, Dolores Schubert of Cape May Court House; her former daughter in law, Kelly Hankins of Mays Landing; her sister, Joyce Ellen (James) Troilo; eight grandchildren; her mother in law, Arlene (Henry) Foehl; and her sisters in law, Connie (Kenny) Speight and Debbie (Frank) Baum.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Middle Township Police Department, 31 Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Christensen, Sr., Helmer "Chris" R.

Helmer R. "Chris" Christensen Sr., 87 of Voorhees passed on March 18th. Chris worked many years for KSM as an engineering assistant. Chris was a devoted husband, son and father. Chris had a life-long interest in home and lawn improvements, the union movement and all things Norwegian. Chris proudly served his country in the Coast Guard during World War II.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Arlene of Voorhees, son Brad of Raleigh and son Helmer Robert Christensen Jr. and daughter-in law Margot of Cary NC. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Bob and wife Lorraine and his sister-in-law Betty Jenkins and her husband Dick. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Anders and Mary Christensen, his sister Elizabeth Preston, and his brother David Christensen who gave his life during World War II. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 and Evesham Road in Marlton.

Christopher, Sharon L.

Christopher, Sharon L. (nee Garrison) On July 24, 2009. Of Hi-Nella. Age 64. Loving mother of Robert McGeorge Jr. (Christine) and Heather Allison (Ross). Dear daughter of Pastor Joseph Garrison. Caring grandmother of Jordan, Joey, Hunter and Faith. Dear brother of Joseph Garrison Jr. (Marion), John Joseph Garrison (Margaret) and Robin McNair (David). Sharon will also be missed by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Sharons family will be having a memorial service at a later date.

Christy, Margaret

Margaret Christy, 86, of Washington Twp. died Thursday at her son's home in Williamstown. She was born and raised in Camden, living in Washington Twp. for the past 17 years and formerly of Pennsauken.

Surviving are two sons Albert 'Nuch' and his wife Catherine of Washington Twp., Michael and his wife Patricia of Williamstown, four grandchildren Michael, Bryan, Nicole, and Meghan, a brother Nicholas Mascio of Woodbury and a sister Theresa Toole of Pennsauken.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Monday at St. Mary's RC Church, Main Street, Williamstown. A viewing will be held 6-8PM Sunday and 9:30-10:30AM Monday at Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 South Main Street, Williamstown. Interment New St. Mary's cemetery, Bellmawr.

Christy, Raymond

Raymond Christy of Medford, NJ died suddenly on Saturday, February 3, 2001 at his home in Medford, NJ. He was 87 years of age. Born in Phila., PA, he has lived in Medford since 1957. He is the founder of Christy's Supplies in Medford, NJ, now operating as DuBell Lumber. He is the beloved husband of Dorothy L. (Nee Mooney) Christy. Also survived by his two sons Richard G. Christy of Tabernacle, NJ and James R. Christy of Medford, NJ, his brothers Norman of Erial, NJ, Harry of St. Petersburg, FL, and William of CA, his sister Betty Walzach and Netta Fischer both of Bradenton, FL and Florence of Lakeland FL, and also 4 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd.
