DENN, KEITH FRANCIS
Formerly of Palmyra, NJ Keith Francis Denn, of Ocean City, NJ, formerly of Palmyra, NJ, age 42, died in a fatal car crash on August 10, 2000.
He graduated from Palmyra High School in 1976. He was active in the Special Olympics for his son for nine years. He was employed by the Tropicana Casino for 17 years. He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Kroll) Denn and daughter, Kimberly Ann, age 15, and son, Keith "Fran," age 14; mother, Janet M. Denn; sister, Debra M. (Denn) Watson and husband, Bryan; his nephew, Bryan and two nieces, Erika and Samantha Watson; his mother-in-law, Jane Kroll, father-in-law, Joseph Kroll, Sr.; brothers-in-law, Joseph, Jr., Paul, Shawn and sister-in-law, Mary Jane. Also survived by two nieces and one nephew, Morgan, Taylor and Paul Kroll. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2000 at St. Francis Cabrini Church, 2nd and Atlantic, Ocean City, NJ from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Mass will follow at 7:00 P.M. Burial Thursday, August 17 at 10:00 A.M. from the Godfrey Funeral Home, Ocean City, NJ. Interment at Seaside cemetery , Palermo, NJ. GASKILL, JEAN ESTELLE
Mt. Holly, NJ resident Jean Estelle Gaskill of Mt. Holly died Sunday, August 13, 2000 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly. She was 70.
Mrs. Gaskill was born in Mt. Holly, the daughter of the late George and Ida Bennett Nitchman and was a lifelong resident of the town. She was Past President of the America Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary in Mt. Holly and a member of the Burlington County Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Holly. Surviving are her husband, Ted; a son and daughter-in-law, George and June L. Gaskill of Mt. Holly; three grandchildren and their spouses: Tammi and Ken Kleszics, Holly L. and Joseph Bertolini, and Joseph A. Emmons; and a great-granddaughter, Josephina-Grace Bertolini. She was the mother of the late James. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Service Thursday at 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, Garden St., Mt. Holly. JOHNSON, CARL RAYMOND
Mt. Holly, NJ resident Carl R. Johnson, age 70, of Mt. Holly, died at home on Sunday, August 13, 2000.
He was born in Orange, NJ, and raised in Brooklyn, NY, before moving his family to Mt. Holly in 1957. He served in the Pacific Fleet with the U.S. Navy as a deep sea diver during the Korean War. He had spent time on the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Latee and on the U.S.S. Grasp. During his service, he received the Victory Medal and the Korean Service Medal. He retired from Lucent Technologies (formerly Western Electric, A.T.&.T.) after 34 years of service. He also was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, attending the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Holly, and a former member of the Swedish Methodist Church of Brooklyn, NY. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 46 years, Gladys D. (nee Ridgway); four sons and two daughters-in-law: Carl and Carol Johnson, Robert Johnson, Greg Johnson, Erik and Beverly Johnson; one daughter, Jane Hunt, all of Mt. Holly; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Maryann and Al Rainson of Manhassett, NY, and Lillian and John Gregory of Pittsford, NY. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many great friends, all of whom loved him very much. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Wednesday, August 16th, at 1 PM, at the PERINCHIEF CHAPELS, 438 High St., Mt. Holly. There will be a calling time from 12-1 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. Holly cemetery. MICHELS, CATHERINE (KITTY)
Catherine (Kitty) Michels, 73, died Sunday, August 13, 2000.
Kitty worked at RCA, Camden for 30 years as a Secretary in the Broadcast Division until her retirement in 1989. She was active in the Church of The Holy Name in Delran as a Eucharistic Minister, a Perpetual Adoration member, and a member of the 50+ Club. She was also active in the V.F.W. having served as President of Barrington's Ladies Auxiliary Post 7247 and as the Seventh District President. Kitty is survived by her husband, Bill Michels, and was the beloved mother of her daughters, Lois Bruno, Phyllis Koch, Janis Boyer, and stepdaughters, Barbara Harris, Elizabeth Smith, and Dana Pike. She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Webber, and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Horn, who died in 1968, and her daughter Doris McBride in 1986. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday, August 16th, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Church of the Holy Name, 260 Conrow Rd., Delran, NJ, with Mass to follow at 12 noon. NIXON, JR. , CHARLES M. (NICK)
Southampton, NJ resident Charles M. Nixon, Jr. (Nick), age 56, of Southampton, died August 12, 2000 at home.
He lived most of his life in Southampton. He is survived by four brothers and three sisters: Buddy Nixon and his wife Debbie of Southampton with whom he lived, Caroline Lawton of Browns Mills, Mildred Stanley, George and Raymond Nixon, all of Eastampton, Bessie Luker of Southampton, and Richard Nixon of Burlington. He will be sadly missed by his two great-nephews, Marcus Nixon and Michael Ware. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday from THE LANKENAU FUNERAL HOME, 31 Elizabeth St., Pemberton. WILLIAMS, CATHERINE M.
Mt. Laurel, NJ resident Catherine M. Williams, 60, of Mt. Laurel, NJ died Saturday, August 12, 2000 at home.
Ms. Williams was born in Burlington City, NJ and lived there until moving to Mt. Laurel 22 years ago. Ms. Williams worked for the past 13 years as Store Manager at Cumberland Farms on Route 537 in Hainesport. Ms. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Williams Sr. in 1977, and her fiance Edwin Raynor in March of this year. Surviving are three daughters: Donna M. Budden of Melbourne, FL, Kathleen L. Rivera of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Rhonda L. Correa of Burlington City, NJ; one son, William H. Williams Jr. of Melbouren, FL; one sister, Mildred Eades of Burlington City; one brother, Robert Wood of Burlington City. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 16, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the MOUNT LAUREL HOME FOR FUNERALS, 212 Ark Rd., Mt. Laurel, NJ. The Funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Thursday the 17th at 10:00 AM. Interment at Odd Fellows cemetery in Burlington, NJ.
CASSEY, ISABELLE M.
Delran, NJ resident Isabelle M. Cassey, age 88, of Delran, died August 12, 2000.
She was a native of Philadelphia, PA, and a resident of Riverside since 1975. She was a retired Assembly Line Worker for I.T.E. Circuit Breaker Co., Philadelphia. She is survived by three grandsons: William J., Jr. of Washington Twp., Peter and Harry G., both of Riverside; one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth J. of Delran and three grandchildren: David, Alicia, and Madeline. HARRIS, JAMES EDWARD
Mt. Holly, NJ resident James Edward Harris, Sr., 74, of Mt. Holly, died on Thursday, August 10, 2000 at home.
Before retiring, Mr. Harris was a Chef at Buttonwood Hall, New Lisbon. Mr. Harris was also a skilled carpenter. Surviving are: his beloved wife, Mable; son, James E. Harris, II of Mt. Holly; daughters, Cheryl A. and husband Alton Sinclair of Browns Mills, and Karolyn C. and husband Larry DeVaughn of Mt. Holly; brothers, Milton T. Harris of Burlington and St. John Harris of Newport News, VA; sister, Mary E. Randolph of Glenside, PA; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. KETCIK, MICHAEL J.
Mt. Holly, NJ resident Michael J. Ketcik, 44, of Mt. Holly, NJ, died Saturday, August 12, 2000 at his sister's home in Buena Vista Township, NJ.
Michael was born in Hancock, MI and lived in Mt. Laurel before moving to Mt. Holly four years ago. Michael was a Senior Member of the Engineering Staff at Lockheed Martin Government Electronics Systems in Moorestown, NJ, where he worked for the past 18 years, and a member of ASPEP Union there. Michael graduated in 1978 with a BS in Engineering from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI and graduated in 1974 from Kwajelin High School in the Marshall Islands. Surviving are his wife, Georgeann Mary Ketcik; one son, Jeremy Michael Ketcik of Maple Shade, NJ; parents, James M. and Patricia Ketcik of Columbus, NJ; two sisters, Beth Ketcik Bergdoll of Marlton and Julie D'Amico of Buena Vista, NJ. Also surviving are two nieces and one nephew. Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Joseph Ketcik. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday the 16th from 9:15 to 10:15 AM at the MOUNT LAUREL HOME FOR FUNERALS, 212 Ark Rd., Mt. Laurel, NJ. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 260 High St., Mt. Holly. Interment will be private at Sacred Heart cemetery , Hainesport.
