Cataldo, Michael N.
MICHAEL N. CATALDO, 67 of Oakhurst, OCEAN TOWNSHIP, died yesterday at home. He was a manager at Norwood Distributors, Long Branch, for 35 years. He was a parishioner of St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1952 to 1956. He enjoyed spending time at his son's restaurant and with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing. Born in Jersey City, he was a life resident of the Shore area.
He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Marotta Cataldo in 1994; his parents, John and Mary Annrella Cataldo; and a sister, Rose Martelli. Surviving are two sons and two daughters-in-law, John and Christine Cataldo of Toms River, and Michael and Stephanie Cataldo of Brick; a daughter, Mary Jo Cataldo of Oakhurst and her fiance, Jamie Mullenax; a brother, John R. Cataldo of Eatontown; two sisters, Dorothy Andres of Freehold, and Ann Pettit of Eatontown; and three grandchildren, Patricia, Michael and John.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Damiano Funeral Home, corner of Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. A funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Dorothea's Church, Eatontown. Interment will be at Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport.
Catanese, Michael Joseph
Michael Jospeh Catanese, 47, of Wildwood Crest, NJ, died on Thursday, December 23, 2004. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. the son of the late Mario and Elizabeth Pelligrini Catanese. He lived in Havertown, Pa. before moving to this area thirty three years ago. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption here. He attended the St. Aloysius Academy and was a graduate of Wildwood High School where he was captain of the football team. He was also a graduate of Villanova and Loyola Universities. He was an attorney and was employed by the State of New Jersey Office of the Public Defender Cape May County Office as a deputy public defender. Michael was a captain in the US Naval Reserve in the JAG Corps and was commanding officer of his unit. He was an avid fisherman; served on the Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol; was a past member and past president of the Wildwood Crest Board of Education; the Cape May County Bar Associationand was a coach for the Greater Wildwood Football Team.
He is survived by his wife, Holly A.; his children: Nicholas Aaron, Alexandria Rae and Christopher Eric; his beloved brothers George A. of Cape May, NJ and Ralph M. of Wildwood Crest, NJ; his beloved sister, Elizabeth Elkins of Wildwood Crest, NJ and was a special uncle to his nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces and was a special person to all the area children who knew him.
Funeral Liturgy will be said on Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at 1 pm at the Church of the Assumption, 7110 Seaview Avenue, Wildwood Crest, NJ where friends may call 10 am. to 12:30 pm. Catanoso, Alan Michael
Alan Michael Catanoso, of Cape May Court House, NJ, beloved husband of Anna Catanoso and devoted father of Marsiella and Lisa Catanoso, died on December 17, 2004 after battling cancer much of this year.
Mr. Catanoso was born July 21, 1955 in Cape May Court House, NJ, and grew up in North Wildwood, NJ. It was at Margaret Mace Junior High School that he developed his lifelong skill at woodworking and furniture making and was awarded the Gold Hammer, the school's highest honor for industrial arts. At Wildwood High School, he played on the football team and was recognized his senior year with the school's top sportsmanship award. He attended Penn State University, starting first at its Mont Alto campus and graduating in 1977 with a B.S. in general agriculture from the main campus in University Park.
Throughout his life, Mr. Catanoso applied his many skills to a variety of enterprises in the Catanoso family businesses in Cape May County. Along with his brother Lenny, he was co-owner and manager of the Garden Greenhouse & Nursey for many years. He was active with his family at the Avalon Campground, and he helped develop and support the growth of the Woodland Village retail shops in Clermont, NJ. In recent years, he took great pride in designing and building furniture and household items for resale.
Mr. Catanoso was a member of the North Wildwood Volunteer Fire Company, and long-time supporter of the Penn State Alumni Association. He also endowed an academic scholarship for promising agriculture students at Penn State's Mont Alto campus.
At home, he stayed highly involved with his daughters and supported them in their marching band activities at Middle Township. He was also an active member of Our Lady of the Angels Church in Cape May Court House, and designed and built the church's prayer garden.
Aside from his wife and daughters, Mr. Catanoso is survived by his parents, Leonard and Connie Catanoso of Ocean View, NJ; his siblings and their spouses: Lenny and Cindy Catanoso of Swainton, NJ, Marlene and Joe Testa of Clermont, NJ, and Justin Catanoso and Laurelyn Dossett of Greensboro, NC; and his in-laws: Sam and Marie Accardi of North Wildwood, NJ, and Carlo Accardi of North Wildwood, NJ.
Funeral Liturgy will be said on Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of the Angels Church, East Mechanic St. and Garden State Parkway, Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may call 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ.

Catarcio, Maurice A.
Maurice A. Catarcio, "Magnificent Maurice", 76, of Del Haven, died on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at his home. He was born on March 21, 1929 in Ocean City to the late Dominick and Julia Marie (Florentine) Catarcio. He graduated from Cape May High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Navy for 55 months beginning in 1947. He was honorably discharged on June 30, 1950, three days after the Korean War started. He was recalled for another 22 months and received another honorable discharge. He was a certified fitness trainer in Santa Barbara, CA and was certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He was a former police officer in Cape May and Cherry Hill. He was a painting contractor for thirty years. From 1980 to 1987, he served as Commissioner of the Cape May County Bridge Commission; and then as Chairman of the Bridge Commission from 1987 to 2001. He was a former lifeguard in Cape May. He was a professional wrestler in the 1950s.
Mr. Catarcio was a member of St. Raymond's Church and the Governor's Council on Fitness. He was a past president for the Kiwanis Club of Cape May, the Sons of Italy in Lower Township, and the Lower Township Republican Club. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus in Cape May and the Mayor's Advisory Committee in Cape May. He was Republican Leader in Lower Township for ten years. He was a member of the Electoral College in 1976. He was also a former Republican State Committeeman.
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1991 and wanted to inform people about health, nutrition and exercise. He was very involved with service organizations, including Kiwanis Clubs and the Boy Scouts. He was known as Magnificent Maurice for the acts of strength and endurance that he performed to give hope to those with similar illnesses. Some of his feats have been featured on television shows and he was included in the Guinness World Records 2000 Millennium Edition.
He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Catarcio; his sons, Dominic Catarcio of Dennis Township, and Maurice Catarcio, Jr. at home; his daughters, Nora Hiller (Ed) of Del Haven, and Lisa Carlson (Albert) of Villas; his sister, Phyllis Fox (Beech); and his five grandchildren, Nikki Johnson, Dominic Catarcio, Zachary Carlson, Kristian Catarcio, and Corey Catarcio.
Funeral Liturgy will be said on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Raymond's Church, Bayshore Road, Villas, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Cold Spring. Caton, Margaret Riley
Margaret Riley Caton, 73, of Stone Harbor, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Elisabeth (nee Sharp) and Francis A. Riley, M.D., she moved here in 1986 from Wayne, PA. She was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, where she was a sister of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and the Altar Guild, the Stone Harbor Garden Club, the Women's Club, and the American Association of University Women.
Mrs. Caton is survived by her husband of 53 years, Raymond; her children, Suzanne of Narberth, PA and Robert of Lansdowne, PA; her sister, Frances of Laurel, MD; and her three grandchildren.

Went 'home' to join his father, Anthony, his mother, Mary (nee Peca), his brothers, Thomas, John and Carmen and his sister, Marie Postiglione.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Theresa (nee Amato); daughter, Terry Ann Veneziani; loving granddaughters, Dana and Marisa. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Anne Cavaliere and Antoinette Biedebach and brother-in-law, James Amato and his wife, Mary. Also many nieces and nephews.
For many years, Mr. Cavaliere owned and operated Cavalier Distributors in the Kensington Section of Philadelphia. He was a pioneer in the business of buying 'closeouts' for wholesale and retail sales.

Cavicchio, III, John
John Cavicchio, III, 23, of South Seaville, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2006 at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. Born in Baltimore, MD, he moved here 14 years ago. He was a graduate of Middle Township High School Class of 2002 and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Wildwood. He loved football and basketball and played football for MTHS. He worked at Public Works for the City of Wildwood Crest.
John was involved with the Atlantic City Theater Guild and liked to play the saxophone. He was an extremely talented graphic artist and was very artistic with his hands, especially landscaping. He was an avid motorcycle rider. John was great with kids and was a wonderful uncle.
John is survived by his parents, John and Judi Cavicchio of South Seaville; his four brothers, Ryan Cavicchio of Petersburg, Gary Cavicchio of Anaheim, CA, Steven Cavicchio of South Seaville, and Brandon Cavicchio of South Seaville; and his grandmothers, Ruth Zorn of Logan Township, and Edith Cavicchio of Woodbury. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Muton.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2810 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood. CECCOLINI, CATHERINE (nee Zaccone) on April 16, 2007 of the Fountains at Cedar Parke in Atco, formerly of Wilmington, DE and Philadelphia, PA. Age 76. Beloved wife of the late Sergio J. Devoted mother of Rita Retallick and her husband Phillip, Walter Ceccolini (Donna) and Lisa Ceccolini. Loving grandmother of Kristin, Danielle and Nicholas. Sister of Frank Zaccone and the late Vincent Zaccone. Catherine was a volunteer for the Little Sisters of the Poor, while residing in Delaware, but most importantly her family was her life. Catherine Zuzzio Cece, age 91 of Sea Bright died December 13 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was Owner and Operator of Kay's Kabin, Sea Bright before retiring in 1992. She also worked at Shore Regional High School, West Long Branch in the cafeteria; and most recently at Willow Cleaners in Sea Bright with her daughter Kathleen. Mrs. Cece was a parishioner of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson; a member of the Sea Bright Seniors; and loved bowling. Born in Newark, where she lived before moving to Sea Bright in 1956. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Cece in 1989. Surviving is a daughter and son in law, Kathleen and Joseph Procopio of Sea Bright; a sister, Margaret Marelli, Sea Bright; four grandchildren, Paul, Gerald, Maria and Joseph; ten great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday from 7-9 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third) in Long Branch.
