Abad, Cynthia E.

Cynthia E. Abad, 36, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. She was born in the Philippines and came to the United States in 1989. She lived in Town Bank before moving to Cape May Court House 8 years ago. She formerly worked as a nurses aide at Victoria Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. Cynthia enjoyed taking care of her family and was a wonderful hostess, always making people feel comfortable and at home. She enjoyed nature and the outdoors, especially walks on the beach and in the woods. She was a selfless person that lived her faith.

Cynthia is survived by her husband, Paul Voegtlin; her children, Katelin M. Shipley and Michael R. Shipley, all of Cape May Court House; her mother, Susan Lang and her husband, Edward of North Cape May; her sisters, Karen Lang of Pennsauken, and Arlene Abad Serrano of the Philippines; and her maternal grandmother, Anselma Abad of San Diego, CA.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, Parkway and East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Interment will be private in the Philippines. Abbinanti, Michael

ABBINANTI, Michael F. on September 10, 2007, of Marlton, born in the Bronx NY. Age 42. Beloved husband of Lillian M. Abbinanti (nee Brancato) and loving son of Gabriel J. and Rosemary Abbinanti. Dear brother of Anne McGeehan, Lynn Wright and Karen Reid. Beloved stepfather of Jeffrey Linneman, Christina Reinhart and Joseph Linneman. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews, 6 grandchildren, several loving family members and his beloved dog, Branca. Mr. Abbinanti was a 1983 graduate of Cherokee High School and a 1988 graduate of Glassboro State College. He was employed in Insurance Sales for almost 20 years. He had a love for sports, as a Yankees and Giants fan, and a baseball and softball player. He also enjoyed cooking, especially hosting his pizza nights. He was also a member of the Fr. John P. Wessel Council of the Knights of Columbus. Abbott, Dorothy l.

Dorothy L. Abbott, age 90 of West Long Branch died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at St Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. She was a statistical analyst with Ernst and Young, New York City for 25 years retiring in 1980. Dorothy was a communicant of St Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch. Born in the Bronx, she had lived in the shore area for the past 55 years. She was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Rachel Abbott and Florence Buffa. Surviving is her brother in law, Anthony Buffa, Sr., West Long Branch; a nephew, Anthony Buffa, Jr., California; a niece, Barbara Bulloch, Atlanta; her great nephews and nieces, Michael Bulloch, Christopher Bulloch, Julie Owen and Jeanne Buffa.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29, from 2-6 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, on the corner of Third, Long Branch. Funeral Wednesday, May 30, at 9 am from the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass at St Jerome R.C. Church, West Long Branch. Interment will be at Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport. Abbott, Herbert D.

ABBOTT, HERBERT D. on March 17, 2005, of LeisureTowne. Formerly of Marlton, Bergenfield, and Willingboro. Herbert was 73. A graduate of Rider College and NYU. Prior to retiring in 1989, he was a High School Business Teacher for 31 yrs, the last 21 yrs were at Triton High School. A veteran of the US ARMY, Herbert served his country during The Korean War. He was also a church organist for 25 yrs. Brother of William E. Abbott and his wife Lois of Langhorne Manor, PA and John Abbott and his wife Doris of Sarasota, FL. Also survived by his nieces and nephews: Kimberly, William, Bruce, Valerie, Deborah, and Scott. Abrams, Eugene

EUGENE ABRAMS of Silver Beach, VA, passed away on Friday, December 28th, 2007 in the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. He was 79 years young. A life long farmer, he was born and raised on the family farm in Indian Mills, NJ and currently resided in Silver Beach, VA. He is the Loving Husband of 54 years to Pearl Abrams (Nee Adams) and the Father of Martin Abrams of Nassawadox, VA, Raymond & Christine, Ronnie & Cindy, and Eugene Jr. & Sue Abrams all of Indian Mills, NJ. He is the loving and fun Pop-Pop to Sarah, Colleen, Alyssa, Kyle, Ron Jr., Michael, Jenna, Maci, Quincy, and Maxy girl. He is also survived by his brother Ralph Abrams of Indian Mills, NJ. In his retirement, Gene enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing on his boat. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Acerra, Alfred A.

Alfred A. Acerra, age 87 of Long Branch died Sunday, October 10, 2004 at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was an employee for the City of Long Branch Public Works for 24 years retiring in 1983. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. He was a member of the Acerra Brothers' Baseball Team, who were inducted into the Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame, Cooperstown, NY; and a member of the Long Branch Elks, lodge 742. Born in Long Branch he was a life resident. He was predeceased by his wife, Carmela "Molly" Acerra in 1991; and a son, Alfred Acerra, Jr. in 1963. Surviving is a daughter, Maria Hopkins of Jackson, one son, John "Christy" Acerra of Oceanport; four brothers, William Acerra, Long Branch; Edward Acerra, Long Branch; Fred Acerra, Long Branch; and Richard Acerra, Lakewood; a sister, Frances Christopher, West Long Branch; and five grandchildren.

Acerra, Paul J.

Paul J. Acerra age 87, of Long Branch died Thursday November 20 at home. He was a postal service worker for the Long Branch Post Office for 37 years before retiring. Born in Long Branch he had been a life resident. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. He was a member of the Acerra Brothers' Baseball Team, who were inducted into the Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame, Coppertown, New York; the Long Branch Old Guard; and at 65 years old, he had several "hole in one " at Old Orchard Country Club.

Surviving is his wife, of 62 years Theresa "Tess" D'Amico Acerra, 2 sons, Paul and Michael, both New Mexico, 5 brothers, Alfred, William, Edward, Fred, all Long Branch, Richard, Lakewood, a sister Frances Christopher, West Long Branch, and a granddaughter, Michele Acerra.

Ackley, Mae C.

Mae C. Ackley, 84, of Swainton, NJ, died on Sunday, August 28, 2005, at her home. She was born in Vineland, NJ and lived here since 1978 coming from Cherry Hill, NJ. She was an antique dealer owning and operating with her late husband, Jack, the Gingerbread House here. She was a member of Maris Stella Church of Avalon.

She is survived by two daughters: Christine V. Honzik of Philadelphia, PA and Sara A. Nichols of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a son: Raphael Ackley; one grandson: Alexander K. Nichols; and two great grandchildren: Samantha Ackley and John A., III.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Friday, September 2, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Maris Stella RC Church, 49th St. & Dune Dr., Avalon, NJ, where friends may call at 10:00 AM. ADAIR, Carolyn T. (nee Zeltner)

On May 9, 2009, of Marlton. Age 85. Beloved wife of the late William H. Adair. Loving mother of Kathy Dilks, Sharon LaFace and William Adair. Devoted grandmother of David and Kenneth Dilks and great grandmother of MacKenzie, Justin, Nicole and Danielle Dilks. Mrs. Adair was a Nurse, working in several area nursing homes. Adair, William E.

ADAIR, suddenly on August 22, 2004 William E. of Marlton age 57. Survived by his beloved wife June (nee Roe) and his daughter Amy Adair and son Todd Adair. Also his mother Mae Adair and his grandmother Mae Evertt and his brother James Adair. Bill was born in South Philadelphia, but lived in NJ since about 1960. A graduate of Glassboro State College he was a beloved teacher for 2 years with the Haddon Township School District and for 32 years with the Cinnaminson School District. During his tenure at Cinnaminson he taught math and study skills, for which he created the curriculum, on the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels, and ran both the Cinnaminson Middle School store and newspaper. His inspirational and creative teaching was appreciated by all and earned him twice the Cinnaminson teacher of the year, and the Freedom Foundation of America's National Teaching Medal. Bill loved teaching and continued to tutor after his retirement in 2002. He also loved traveling, particularly to Disney World, going to plays and movies, dining out, spending time with family and friends, and was the proud owner of his beloved poodles Pepe & Molly. A devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, teacher, and friend he will be missed very much. May he rest in peace in the Lord's loving embrace. Francis P. Adamo, 78, of Erma, NJ, died on Friday, August 26, 2005, at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House, NJ. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, and lived in this area for fifteen years. He was a retired parts manager for Jones Automotive Supply.

He is survived by six children: Frank, Jr. (Pam), Kathleen Rooney, Florence, Joanne, and Joseph Adamo, and Brian Ratchford; a brother: Michael Adams; two sisters: Catherine Reilly and Josephine McGinley; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Adams, Terry Lee., on March 28, 2004 of Marlton, NJ. Age 55. Beloved husband of Catherine (nee Foley). Dear son of Dorothy (Jim Buividas Reality). Also survived by his bothers Jerry of Millborough, KY, Larry of Cherry Hill and Gary of Mapleshade. Terry was enlisted as a Fireman with the Navy during the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge on May 14, 1973. Terry was the owner and operator of A-Sheild Termite and Pest Control Company Inc. In addition, he was an active member of several local organizations including the American Legion of Gibbsboro, the Moose Lodge of Lindenwold and the Elks Club of Marlton. Eugene P. Adams, age 81 of Long Branch, died Tuesday, April 13 at Home. He was a liquor salesman for National Distillers, New York for 25 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member, Elder and served on the Board of Trustee's at the First Presbyterian Church of Long Branch; He was a member and 1997 president of the Kiwanis International Club, Asbury Park, also coordinating their 75th anniversary; a life member of BPOE Red Bank Lodge # 233; member of VFW Post 2140, Long Branch; Senior Citizen League; past president and 1993 man of the year for Long Branch Republican National Committee; American Legion Post 0510, Middletown; and the Long Branch Old Guard. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 303rd field artillery. Born in Yardley, PA; he was a life resident of Long Branch. He was predeceased by his wife, Julia Kuhn-Hoffman Adams in 1999. Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Victoria and Jonathan Otis of Long Branch; a brother and sister in law, Raymond Lenos and Simone Adams of Trenton; two grandchildren, Christopher and Vanessa Otis and a great granddaughter, Mackenzie Adams Otis.

Ruth L. Adams, Ruth L., 98, of Avalon, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia to the late Charles and Ella Armor, she moved here in 1970 from Philadelphia.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her sons, Paul Merriken and Richard Merriken; her nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry R. "Paul" Merriken and George P. Adams, Jr; and her son, Stephen Merriken. Funeral services will be private at the request of the family.

Adams, Michael Anthony

Michael "Moe" Anthony Adams, 58, of West Wildwood, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2007. Born in Philadelphia to the late Francesco and Helen (Hayes) Adamo, he moved to Cape May County in 1969. He worked as an LPN at Woodbine Developmental Center. He was an Army medic during the Vietnam War.

Michael was a member of the DAV and VFW. He loved fishing, but also enjoyed hunting, boating and nature. He was an avid bird watcher and very interested in history.

Michael is survived by his loving and devoted companion, Karen L. Pio of Philadelphia; his two sisters, Catherine Reilly of Secane, PA and Josephine McGinley of West Deptford; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Francis Adamo; his sister, Marie Robinson; his brother, David Adams; his niece, Jacqueline Kelly; and his great nephew, David Reilly.

Funeral mass will be said on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, East Mechanic Street and Garden State Parkway, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Yeadon, PA. Adams, Edward Arnold

Edward Arnold Adams, 53, of Dennisville, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at Cape Regional Medical Center. He was born in Cape May Court House and was a lifetime area resident, living in Dennisville for the last 30 years. He was formerly employed at Edward W. Zane, Inc. in Avalon. He was a handyman that fixed everything around the house. He was a good mechanic as well. He liked fishing and doing crossword puzzles in the newspaper.

Ed is survived by his wife, Kathaleen M. (Weldon) Adams; his children, David Weldon, Scott Burgess, and Edward Adams, Jr.; his mother and step-father, Doris and George Rose; his father, William Adams; his brother, Billy Adams and his wife, Debbie; his sisters, Dorothy LaBeau and Patricia Cromwell; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Endicott.

Adcock, Johanna

ADCOCK, JOHANNA, of Williamstown, died Wednesday at Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Stratford. Born in Newark, she was a resident of Williamstown for the past 30 years. Mrs. Adcock is survived by two sons Luther Gary Jr. of Williamstown and Paul Russell of Lindenwold; two grandchildren Kaylyn and Matthew; sister Mary Ann Morris of Edison; two nephews John and Joey and two nieces Sharon and Kim. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 8 PM at the BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, 420 South Main Street, Williamstown, where a viewing will be held from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Interment private.

Addeo, Rose J. Albano

ROSE J. ALBANO ADDEO, 91 of TINTON FALLS, died yesterday at the Center for Hospice Care at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a retired seamstress. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch, and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., she lived in Long Branch and Oakhurst, Ocean Township, before moving to Tinton Falls.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Addeo Sr. in 1969; a daughter, Arlene Addeo Marx in 1991; and two brothers, James Albano and Michael Albano. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John and Theresa Addeo of Ocean Township; two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Benjamin Mann of Monmouth Beach, and Ruth and Ernest Pennington of California.; a brother, Thomas Albano of Neptune; two sisters, Anne Marcanthony of Ocean Township, and Mary O'Rourke of California; nine grandchildren, Judi, Debra, David, Pamela, Donna, John, Melissa, Susan and Joseph; and 14 great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Stephan, Ernest, Megan, David, Matthew, Robert, Molly, Ryan, Jason, Richard, Alexandria, David and Taylor.

Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. A funeral will be held 8:30 a.m. Monday from the funeral home, followed by a Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Interment will be at Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport. Memorial donations are requested to Foxchase Cancer Center, 7701 Burholme Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19111-2497, or the Center for Hospice Care at Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave CW6, Long Branch, NJ 07740.
