FERRAGUT, RENE R., 55 - of Levittown, PA, passed away suddenly April 8, 2005. Rene was born in Havana, Cuba, son of the late Casto and Matilde Ferragut.
Rene immigrated as a child with his family to Maryland, where he completed his high school education, later graduating from the University of MD with a degree in Russian Language; afterwards he then went on to earn his Masters Degree in Economics form the University of MD.
He was employed with the State of NJ Department of Economic Development as a financial officer. Rene later went out on his own to become a financial consultant.
He loved to travel, and was a third degree Black Belt in Karate.
Rene is survvived, and will be sadly missed, by his wife, Judy Wilkinson; his daughter, Vanessa; son, Richard; sister, Viviana Yamashita; step-daughter, Sandra Lipinski; granddaughter, Jodi; his brother, Sergio; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Nelson Jorge Ferragut.
Relatives and friends are invited to Rene's Life Celebration Tuesday April 12, 2005 from 6-9 pm at the Beck-Givnish F.H., 7400 New Falls Rd., Levittown. Interment private.
SCHLENDER, FREDERICK MAX 94 - of Goshen, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at home. Born in New York City to the late Otto and Sophie (Schmidt) Schlender, he moved to this area over 65 years ago. He was a longtime farmer in Goshen. He was also a mechanic that fixed many cars at his house. He was involved with the Cape May County Communications Van, was the past treasurer for the Cape May County Riding Club, and past chief and past treasurer for the Goshen Fire Department.
Mr. Schlender is survived by his daughter, Holly Hope Schlender of Goshen; his son, Thomas and wife, Janet Kay of Raymond, NE; his sister, Frances "Baby" Mac-Carthy of Milton, DE; his three granddaughters, Tracy, Debbie, and Brenda; and his seven great grandchildren, Candace Rose, Seth James, Caleb Thomas, Joshua Robert, Julianna Kay, Abigail Jo, and Jacob Timothy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Schott) Schlender on March 27, 1994.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Interment in Goshen Methodist cemetery will be private. DOERR, MARY S. 86 - of Northfield, passed away Saturday at her home, 1 day before her 87th birthday. Mary had a long career in business working at the Northfield Post Office, Boardwalk National Bank and Glenn Insurance before retiring in 1976. She enjoyed travel, singing and hosting parties and family gatherings. There was always a soft spot in her heart for children and she supported many children's charities. She is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Charles and now has joined him.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Sidney Parker, Jr. of Egg Harbor Twp., her son, John C. Doerr of Riverwoods, Illinois, 3 granddaughters, Diana Price and her husband, Keith of Sewell, N.J., Sarah Doerr of Chicago, Illinois, and Jennifer Doerr of Bridgewater, Ma., 1 grandson, David Parker and his wife, Kristine, of Egg Harbor Township and 2 great grandchildren, Rebecca and Brandon Price of Sewell, N.J.
Services will be held at Central United Methodist Church, Linwood, on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 with visitation at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. Burial immediately following at Zion cemetery, Zion Road, Egg Harbor Township.

DISCIASCIO-TEAL, MARIE 38 - of Somers Point, peacefully passed from life on April 8, 2005 at home after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She was born in Somers Point and spent all of her life in the Ocean City-Somers Point area. Marie worked most recently until taken ill at the Deauville Inn. She will be greatly missed by her friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marie is survived by and will be greatly missed by her devoted son, Vincent Almodovar, her father, Frank DiSciascio, her mother Georgianna DiSciascio, her brother, Anthony DiSciascio, all of Somers Point.
Friends and Loved ones are invited to cherish the memory of Marie from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

PARKER, WILLIAM G. "ACE" - passed away suddenly on April 7, 2005 at his home in Northfield.
He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, June Lois Parker (Adams) and his best friend, Jake. Ace was a resident of Northfield for the past 70 years. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II from June 1944 until July 1946 earning an American Theatre Medal, Victory Medal, Pacific Theatre Medal, and a European Theatre Medal. He was a great patriot who loved his country and proudly displayed his American flag everyday with honor.
He is also survived by his daughter, Peggy Milhan (Parker) of Northfield and husband Larry Sr. and their son, Larry Jr. and his wife, Emmy, their daughter, Jodi and her son, Jordan, his son Bill of Harrington, DE and wife, Lori and their son, AJ and his fianc‚e, Jeanine and their daughter, Brianna, and their daughter, Dawn Adams and her husband, Randy and their daughter, Lily, his son Steve of Egg Harbor Township and his wife, Maureen and their sons; Steve Jr. and wife, Tina and their daughter, Madison, and Scott and wife, Chrissie and their daughter, Ellie, his daughter, Lynn Perri of Northfield and husband Mayor Frank Perri and their daughter Donna and son Frank III, and son, David of Galloway and wife, Beth and their daughters Christina and Debbie and sons Matt and Billy. He is also survived by his brother, Milton Parker and by his two sisters, Grace Morey and Betty Reese. He is predeceased by his two sisters; Peggy and Thelma and by his parents; George and Anna.
He had a lifetime love of sports including coaching in the Northfield All-Sports Association as well as a member of the Pleasantville Jokers Semi-Pro Football team. He received the Higbee Award from the Jokers in1998 for his many years of dedication and contribution to sports in Atlantic County.
He retired from Atlantic City Electric Company after 42 years of service. His passions in retirement were his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren walking his Springer Spaniel, Jake, as well as fishing, gardening, golf, and his beloved New York Yankees.
Friends and family can pay their respects on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, 1650 New Road, Northfield, N.J. 08225. Another viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. PALAZZO, ROBERT, - on April 3. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life on Wed., April 13, 2005 at 6:30, St. James Church, Ventnor. He worked at Tropicana and was a Ventnor resident. RAVILIOUS, HOWARD L., - of Absecon, died Sunday April 3rd peacefully at home battling a lengthy illness with cancer. He was born in Hockessin, Del. He was a 1945 graduate of A I Dupont in Delaware. He was a WW 2 Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Absecon American Legion Post #28 where he served as Grand Marshall of the Memorial Day Parade for 10 yrs. He was a former member of the Absecon Kiwanis Club, The Absecon Animals and the Absecon Breakfast Club at McDonalds. He worked in Sales from 1960 -1984 for Ecolab and he was the former owner of Dairy Queen and Olga's Town Farmers Market in Delaware. His hobbies included Airplanes, take the fake tricks and taking videos of everyone's special moments. He was a loving father with a heart of gold. He was predeceased by his first wife, Wilma in 2001. He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene; his two daughters and their husbands, Donna and George Chapman of Galloway and Denise and Frank Lombardi, Jr.; and the light of his life his granddaughter, Amber Lynn Lombardi and grandson, Samuel Simpkins and granddaughters, Stephanie and Laurie Simpkins all of Galloway; his brother and his wife Paul and Liz Ravilious of Selbyville. Del and two sisters, Ruth Peters and her husband Willard of Lewes, Del. and Betty Ann Hildebrand of Georgetown Del; and nephew, Ron Ravilious and his wife Cindy of Townsend, Del., Carl Ravilious of Wilmington, Del; and niece, Carol Duncan of Clayton, Del.; and step grandchildren Anthony and Chandler Heaviside and Frank Lombardi III, Cheryl Leeds and Autumn Marie Heaviside.
Funeral services will be held on Friday April 8th at 11:00 AM at the Absecon United Methodist Church, Church St. and Pitney Rd. Absecon, with burial services to follow in the Church Yard cemetery. ANDRAKE, MARY ANN S., 51 - of Egg Harbor Township, died Sunday April 3rd, 2005 at Shore Memorial Hospital. Mary Ann was born in Atlantic City and was an area resident all her life. She attended Our Lady Star of the Sea School in Atlantic City and was a graduate of Holy Spirit High School class of 1971. She was a member of St. Josephs Church in Somers Point. She worked in the area as a home health care aide. Mary Ann had a passion for animals, was an avid horse back rider, had a love for nature, and also supported the Humane Society of Atlantic County. She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Andrake of Washington DC, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial mass will be celebrated 11:30am Wednesday at St. Josephs Church, Shore Road, Somers Point In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society of Atlantic County. JOHNSON, JAMES W. 96 - of Wildwood Crest, and Naples, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 in Naples. He was the husband of the late Alice Nober Johnson, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Mr. Johnson was born in England, the son of the late James and Mary Alice Wilkinson Johnson. A graduate of Perm State College and loyal Perm State fan, Mr. Johnson earned a masters degree in chemical engineering. For 37 years, he was employed as a research chemist engineer and held several joint patents with Atlantic Richfield (ARCO), now British Petroleum (BP), before his retirement in 1971. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and gardening.
He is survived by two daughters, Beverly J. Fordham and her husband. Kenneth C. Fordham, Sr.. of Naples and Virginia A. Johnson of Downingtown. with whom he spent a great deal of time; a brother, Alfred Johnson of Glenside, six grandchildren, Kenneth, Jr., Michael, Patricia, Jeffrey, Jason and Jeremy and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Johnson's funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Friday, April 8,2005 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue. Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9:30AM until 10:45AM. Interment will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Broomall. DeROSA, SR., JOHN D., 79 - of Manahawkin, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin. Formerly of Staten Island, NY from 1925 to 1943 he moved to West Brighton in 1943, to Concord in 1951, New Springville in 1954, to Port Richmond in 1958 and to Mariners Harbor in 1964. He relocated to Manahawkin in 1982.
He attended McKee Vocational Training School. Mr. DeRosa worked for the United States Government for thirty years and retired from the US Naval Depot in 1973. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Barnegat, and a former parishioner of St. Mary's of the Assumption R.C. Church, Port Richmond, Staten Island, NY. He also volunteered his services to the VFW in Staten Island from 1952-1961, the Moose Lodge in Barnegat from 1988 to 1990, to Southern Ocean County Hospital from 1983-1993, he was an Elks Trustee in Barnegat from 1982 to 1985 and Elks Secretary from 1985 to 1988 and a Post Commander for the Barnegat VFW from 1992 to 1993. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening, sports, BBQ's and reading.
Surviving are his five daughters, Joan Orrico, Lucille Vicenti, Frances Norcla, Linda Mascher and Angela DeRosa and three sons John Jr., Matthew and Joseph. Also surviving is one sister Jennifer Caricappa and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. DeRosa's wife of 61 years died September 4, 2004 and his son Dominick died in infancy in 1955.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Church in Barnegat followed by interment at St. Mary's cemetery, Manahawkin. Viewing will be on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9PM and Wednesday from 8-9AM at Maxwell Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Rd., Manahawkin.
SHORT, LORETTA DOREEN, - was born September 13, 1948 in Corbin City and moved to New London, CT in 1999. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles D. Short.
She was the past state counselor and was currently serving as associate member of Crescent Council #61, Daughters of the America, Goshen. She was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Aux., Post 189 serving as secretary/ treasurer, and was currently the State Chaplain of CT and treasurer of aux. pup tent #5.
Surviving are her father, Edward Layton, Jr. of Corbin City; brother, Edward Layton and his wife Patricia of Seaville; sister, Terry C. Terry and husband Bud of Tuckahoe; her aunt, Mickie Moore of Petersburg; and uncle, Dennis Moore of Goshen.
All of her children, Allen Carter, Jr. and wife Patricia of South Seaville, daughter, Constance Showers and husband Frederick of Tuckahoe, son, Edward Carter and wife Theresa of Tuckahoe, son, Jason Carter of Estell Manor, daughter, Mariah and Shilo Kubiak of Corbin City.
She has six grandchildren, Danielle, Allison, Allen III, Ashley, Edward Jr., and Johnathan; stepchildren, Daniel Short, ME, and Susan Green of MA. Loretta will be missed dearly by family and friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the Corbin City Baptist Church, Main St., Corbin City, Visitation will be from 3:00 until 4:00 and the service to begin at 4PM. Donations may be made in her name to the Corbin City Baptist Church or The First Congregation Church of New London, CT, c/o 274 Marshallville Rd. Woodbine, NJ 08270.

REED, EVA (NEE FEARN) 88 - of Galloway Twp., passed away on Monday, April 4, 2005 at her homestead. She was born in Philadelphia, PA and has lived in the area for many years. She worked at J.J. Newberry in Atlantic City for over 30 years. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Kenneth Reed, of Galloway; her brother, Wallace and Lillian Fearn of Galloway; her sister, Mildred and George Morris of Galloway; also surviving are nieces, nephews, neighbors, and their many friends. Her Viewing will be 10 to 11am, Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at Wimberg Funeral Home, 211 E. Great Creek Rd., Galloway Twp. ((609) 641-0001), where her Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am.
