McCLENNEN, VIRGINIA (WILSON), 79 - passed away on April 4, 2005 at the home of her daughter, Judy. She was born on April 20, 1925.
A life long Vineland resident, she was the daughter of Edith and Morris Wilson. She was a wife, mother, and homemaker. Mrs. McClennen enjoyed playing the piano & crocheting.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Theodore William McClennen in 2001 just prior to their 56th wedding anniversary.
Surviving are a brother, Robert and Sandy Wilson of Sarasota, Florida; a son David and Jan McClennen of Vineland; two daughters: Judy and John Schneider of Pittsgrove, and Linda and Roger Nelson of Vineland. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Dawn McClennen, Elisabeth Vonderahe, Brian McClennen, Anna Muessig, Ted Nelson, Andy Nelson, Ruth Schneider, Scott Nelson, Martha Schneider, Matthew and Sarah Vonderahe.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 South Main Road, Vineland on Saturday at 11 AM where relatives & friends will be received from 10:00-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
SCIUTO, ADELINE (Idalena) (nee Valentino) - of Egg Harbor Township quietly passed away at the Shores At Wesley Manor, Ocean City, on Sunday April 3, 2005.
She was born on May 14,1911 to the late Joseph and Assunta Valentino of Philadelphia, PA and raised in Cedar Brook. She was employed as a seamstress by Cherebino Pety Co. in Atlantic City for many years. In her later years, she worked for First Union Bank, retiring at the age of 78. She loved dancing, playing pinochle, going to bingo, crocheting, her trips with the senior citizens group, and cooking (for her family) the traditional Italian Sunday night dinners. She was the bright light drawing everyone to her warmth and kindness, and the central figure of her loving family. We will always remember her adoring smile. Somehow, Sunday dinners won't be quite the same.
Adeline was predeceased by her husband D. Tommy and her son Tommy Sciuto as well as brothers Henry, Nazi, Joseph and Louis; sisters Vera, Tessie and Lucy.
Adeline leaves behind to cherish her memory: two daughters, Adeline (Babe) Brady and her husband Jack and Patricia Sciuto; six grandchildren, John (Jodi), Tom (Lisa), Jennifer (Marty Jeffers), Brian Brady, Adam (Sharon Kaur) Sciuto, and Craig Cornew; seven greatgrandchildren; Tiffany, Amber. Tyler, Savannah, Lauren, Shelby, and (her namesake) Idalena; two great-greatgrandchildren, Marco and Antonio; a brother, Rudy Valentino; two sisters, Helen Jacovelli and Anna Leconey; a special care-giver Elsie Pugliese; as well as many nieces nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 12:00 noon at the Church Of Saint Bernadette, 1421 New Road, Northfield. Friends may call Thursday from 10AM until the time of mass at the church. Adeline will be laid to rest in the family plot at the Holy Cross cemetery, Mays Landing, beside her loving husband D. Tommy and her son Tommy Sciuto. "Ah fiddlesticks.."

YOCHUM, HOWARD, - of Manahawkin, on April 2 at Southern Ocean County Hospital. Born and raised in Newark. During WWII he wanted to join the Marines and when he found the Quota for Newark was filled, he enlisted in New York City. He served with the 4th Marine Division on Okinawa and Maui.
He married Alice in 1950 and they moved to Pequannock where they built their new home. He was a volunteer fireman for 39 years with Pequannock Engine #2. Many of those years as Lieutenant and Captain. Then he continued with the Fire Co. as their photographer. He was a certified NJ State Fire Prevention Inspector.
In 1988 he retired from Ivers-Lee Company, a Division of Becton-Dickinson where he was Technical Printing Manager. he also did photography for I-L at their various seminars functions ands retirement parties. He was often referred to as 'the man with the camera'. In 1994, he and his wife moved to Manahawkin where he was a member of Senior Squares, Stafford AARP, Stafford Old Guard and Image 35 Club. He was also on the Senior Citizen's Advisory Board and Trustee for Presbyterian Homes in Stafford.
He was devoted husband to his wife of 52 years and a loving father to his sons Brian and Howard Jr. (Skip) and his wife, Lillian. He leaves four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Thos. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Drive, Manahawkin. Then again on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A blessing will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Thos. Shinn Funeral Home. Cremation will be held privately. CATES, EDITH CARVIN (nee Crouse), 98 - of Ocean City, formerly of Newtown Square, PA died March 29, 2005 at Crest Haven Nursing Home, Cape May Court House. Born in Colwyn, Delaware County, May 25, 1906. She was the daughter of the late Bessie and Oliver Crouse who were one of the original settlers of Highland Park, Upper Darby, PA, moving there in 1910.
A graduate of Upper Darby High School in 1924, she went to work for the original Upper Darby National Bank as a secretary. In 1928, Edith married her high school sweetheart, Howard B. Cates who at that time was a professional ballplayer.
The family summered in Ocean City from 1946 till moving there year round in 1968. Active in the Ocean City Yacht Club from 1951 till the death of her husband in 1985. Mrs. Cates was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Highland Park, where she grew up. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Bischoff of Wayne, PA; son, Howard B. Cates, Jr. of Egg Harbor Township; three grandchildren, Howard B. Cates, III of Newtown Square, PA, David C. Cates of Ocean City, and Tammy Engelman of Fairview Village, PA, and eight great grandchildren and a niece and two nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. in the Frank C. Videon Funeral Home, Sproul and Lawrence Rds., Broomall, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m.

CANNELLI, JOHN W., 63 - of North Wildwood, died on April 3, 2005 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in New York City, he was a resident here since 1993. He enjoyed fishing. Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Patricia; a son, John, Jr.; two grandchildren, Victoria and Roxanne; and a sister-in-law, Johanna Kmetz. Services are private. Evoy Funeral Home.
KRUK, ROBERTA, "BERT", 65 - of Beverly Hills, FL (formerly of Little Egg Harbor) died Friday, March 18, 2005 at home surrounded by her loving family. A native of Brooklyn, NY, she lived in Little Egg Harbor since 1969.
A former Police Dispatcher for 25 years, she retired a Senior Clerk with the Township in 2005.
She was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Tuckerton and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills, FL.
She will be remembered for her love of her family and her cats. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, John Kruk of Beverly Hills, FL; son, John and his wife Betty, Little Egg Harbor; two daughters, Catherine and husband Joe Guardascione, Spring Hill, FL, and Rosemarie and husband James Murphy, Beverly Hills, FL; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles J. Belcher and his wife Sue, Newburgh, NY; and a sister, Patricia Rizzo and her husband Mike, Brooklyn, NY; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held in April at the First United Methodist Church of Tuckerton.

JONES, GERALD A. 75 - of Washington Township, (formerly of Collings Lakes), on March 13, 2005. Beloved husband of the late Margaret "Peggy" (nee Masterson). Devoted father of Margie (Jim) Howard, Terry (Paul) Ratnaraj, and Timmy Jones. Loving grandfather of Megan, Luke, Aidan, Monica, and Julia. Dear brother of Vincent Jones and Albert (Monique) Jones.

GAZZARA, DAVID C., 53 - of Hammonton, died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident there. He formerly worked in the maintenance department at Whitehall Laboratories in Hammonton. Mr. Gazzara is survived by his wife: Nancy P. Gazzara; his parents, Charles P. and Estelle Gazzara of Hammonton; three brothers: Gene Gazzara and his wife Sarah F., West Berlin, Patrick Gazzara and his wife Nancy of Mullica Township, Thomas Gazzara of Hammonton. He is also survived by his dog: Kona. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, where relatives and friends may call from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Greenmount cemetery.

BENECOURT, BERTIE, "PAPA" -of Atlantic City, and originally from Trinidad, Tobago, passed away on April 15, 2005, in the Eastern Pines Home. Bertie had been a resident of Atlantic City for the past three years.
He is survived by his wife, Altagracia Castillode Benecourt; his children, Carol, Lucy, Jennifer and Bertie; step daughters, Altagracia Figueroa, Milagros Joga and Angela Abreu, all of Atlantic City; his grandchildren, Luisa and Eddy Cuello, Kathy and Mary Figueroa, Elisabeth, Jose, Luis Joja; godchildren, Alan Ramirez and Kathy Figueroa; great grandchildren, Luisa, Alyssa, Natasha, Ashley, Eddie "Mookie", Joel, Noel;son-in-law, Rafael Figueroa, as well as many more family and friends who will always remember "Papa".

RIVERA, LUZ A., 41 - of Vineland, beloved daughter, cherished wife, loved mother of three, and adored grandmother of two, left our world due to medical complication, Sunday, April 17, 2005.
Born in 1963, her earliest years were spent in Philadelphia living among nine other siblings. After bearing two children, she met her soul mate, Mark Rivera, who, with a daughter of his own, whisked her and her children away to the Jersey Shore where she would raise a loving family of her own.
She was school secretary for the Egg Harbor Township Intermediate Public School.
Luz left us all with fond memories of a beautiful, strong, and determined woman. She will remain in our hearts always, and in the hearts of all those graced by her love.
She is survived by: husband, Mark Rivera, Vineland; daughter, Cindy Cruz, Vineland, daughter, Tina Petinga, Galloway, son, Mark Lopez, Ewing; son-in-law, Paul Petinga, Galloway; grandchildren, Jeremy & Adam; mother, Gloria Soto, Vineland; three sisters, Gloria Montezuma, PR, Tomasita Diaz, PA & Monica Justiniano, Vineland; six brothers, Jose Torres, Vineland, Ramon Lozada, Felix Diaz, William Diaz, Nelson Diaz, and Edwin Diaz, all of Philadelphia, PA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the Rone Funeral Service.

GREENE, MARY P., 80 - of Egg Harbor Township, (formerly of Miller Place, L.I., NY) died peacefully Sunday morning, April 17, 2005 surrounded by her family. Born in Greenwich Village, NY and raised in Astoria, NY, Mary met the love of her life, Ed and had 49 years of happiness till his death in 1997. She is finally reunited with him and her beloved son, James.
Mary, a real Irish New Yorker was a devout Catholic who deeply loved her faith. Mary was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis for 50 years and the Legion of Mary.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary is survived by her four children and their spouses: Maryann and Buddy Eger, of Egg Harbor Township, Edward F. Greene, of Floral Park, NY, Patricia and Al Ramos of Rohnert Park, CA, and John and Lori Greene of East Fallow Township, PA; and her eight grandchildren: Gregory Eger, Christopher Eger, Kevin Eger, Paul Ramos, Elizabeth Ramos, Philip Ramos, Alison Ramos and Patrick James Greene.
The Funeral Mass for Mary will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Wabash Avenue, Linwood. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. at the church.
