AUSTIN, HARRIETT "MIMI" 92 - of Galloway, N.J. died Thursday in the Health Center at Galloway.
Born in Williamsport, PA, she was the daughter of the late William E. and the late Anna Grace (Hunter) Welch.
Harriett was previously of Ocean City, Ventnor and then Absecon before moving to Galloway. Harriett graduated from Shenandoah College. She worked many years at Stainton's Department Store in Ocean City. She was a professional artist having won many awards and sold many paintings throughout the area.
She is predeceased by her husband, George S. Austin, Sr. Harriett is survived by her sons; George S. Austin and his wife, Amanda of Absecon, and David J. Austin of CA., her daughter, Ann Keeler of Galloway, her grandchildren, Kevin Austin (Patty) of Northfield, Debra Higbee (Pete) of Absecon, Craig Austin of Absecon, John Keeler (Emery) of Ocean City, Andrew Keeler (Maureen) of Annandale, NJ, Elizabeth Robinson (Glenn) of Carmel Valley, CA and fourteen great grandchildren.
Friends may call Thursday, August 5, 2004 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Adams Perfect Funeral Homes, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes. Interment will be in Laurel Memorial Park, Pomona.

CULLERS, ERNEST "BROWN" 75 - of Absecon passed away July 31 at the A.C. Mainland Division after a brave battle of lung disease. A retired Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Ernie is predeceased by his beautiful daughter, Candi; his first wife Iva, parents, Mary and Bernie Cullers, brother Wilbert Cullers. Ernie is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joyce, granddaughter, Cherish Feldman "the light of his life," son Randy Cullers, wife Tammy, grandchildren, Kelly, Katie, Matthew; daughter Libby Cave, husband Dwight, grandchildren Jessica and Emily; sisters Violet Dove of Timberville, VA; Trina Shannon of Warrenton, VA; brother Vic Cullers, and wife Madeline; nephew Leonard Cullers and many nieces and nephews.
Ernie was stationed in Korea, Pleiku, Vietnam, White Sands, New Mexico, Nevada Test Site, Germany; Texas and Utah. He was extremely proud of his two bronze medals, National Defense Service Medal; Korean Service Medal; Republic of Kores Presidential Unit Citation; Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Army Commendation Medal; Good Conduct Medal Clasp; Bronze, 3 Loops; United Nation's Service Medal; Mechanics & Drivers Badge with Driver Bar; Meritorious Unit Commendation. He was an Absecon School Crossing Guard for several years. His love for the hills of West Virginia never wavered. He looked forward to his trips back home to Mathias, West Virginia. He will be sadly missed.
His viewing will be held on Tuesday evening August 3, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lowenstein Funeral Home, 58 South Rt. 9, Smithville of Galloway Township. Interment will be in Virginia.

MILLER, MARY, (NEE FINN), 88 - of Westminster, Md., formerly of Bronx, NY most of her life before moving to Old Bridge, for some time, and to Absecon before finally retiring to Whiting in 1984. Mary was a homemaker. She was a Communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, Whiting.
Predeceased by her husband Joseph P. Miller (1989). Survived by two sons, Edward Miller and Brian Miller, both of Absecon; two daughters, Dolores Bennett of Aiken, SC and Maureen Stephens of Westminster, Md; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

DALEY, DENNIS JAMES, 83 - of North Cape May, died on Sunday, August 1, 2004 at his home. Born in Burlington, he formerly lived in Delanco before moving to N. Cape May five years ago. He was a mechanic for Public Service Electric & Gas of Trenton for 38 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 6489 and American Legion Post 0115 of Beverly. Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Dorothy; daughter Harriet Polis of Moorestown; step-children Kenneth Nalbone, Jeffrey Nalbone, Linda Lounsbery, Lisa Nalbone, Wendy Sweigart and Jeanine Nalbone and a grandson, Alexander Polis. FORD, JOHN J., 92 - of Mechanicsburg, PA, formerly of Sea Isle City, and Philadelphia, died August 1, 2004 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, PA. Mr. Ford grew up in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia and attended Overbrook High School. In 1932 he started in the Mail Room of Pennsylvania Lumbermans Mutual Insurance Co. After serving in the Army during World War II, he continued his career at Pennsylvania Lumbermans while attending Temple University. After numerous promotions within the company he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Company and in 1960 he was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. He retired after serving five years as President. He then became the Director of the Insurance Department of Pennsylvania. Mr. Ford and his late wife Mary then retired to Sea Isle City until 2001 when he moved to Country Meadows Retirement Community in Mechanicsburg. He is survived by two sons John J. Ford, Jr. of Mechanicsburg and Kenneth J. of Philadelphia; 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11 A.M., St. Joseph Church, 4308 Landis Ave., Sea Isle City, where friends may call from 10 to 11 A.M. Int. St. Mary's cemetery, Cold Harbor. DeROSE, SR., SALVATORE T., 60 - of Blue Anchor, died Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Atlantic City Medical Center in Atlantic City. Born in Philadelphia, he was an area resident all his life. He was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph High School. He retired in 1993 from Kimble glass after 35 years of service. He is predeceased by his parents John and Rose and brother Nicholas DeRose. Surviving is his wife, Michele (Egizi), five sons, Salvatore Jr. (Victoria) of Egg Harbor Twp. David (Joanne) of Galloway Twp, Michael, Robert and Matthew of Blue Anchor, one sister Juliann Rendino of Hammonton, loving grandfather of Jacob, Zachary and Rebecca. DALE, ANNA M. 90 - of Middle Township, died peacefully Sunday, July 18, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Hospital cape May Court House. Born and lived most of her life in Trenton, Mrs. Dale worked for Winding Labs. in Trenton for 35 years. She was predeceased by her son, Ronald Dale in 2001. Survived by her daughter, Connie Ann Parziale of Ocklawaha, FL; and sisters, Mary Nothelfer of Sewell, and Helen Szalony of Trenton; also survived by three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

CALDWELL, ROBERT W., "BERNIE", 49 - of West Cape May, passed away Sunday evening in Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. He was a lifelong Cape May area resident.
Mr. Caldwell worked as a commercial fisherman in the Cape May area and he also worked as a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver in the North Jersey area. Over the past six years he was the owner and operator of Bernie's Sunset Shell Service Station in West Cape May.
Bernie enjoyed being on the water and fishing but most of all he loved being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his Fianc‚e, Sandra Spalding of West Cape May; two brothers: John H. Caldwell, Jr. of Dennisville, Billy J. Caldwell of Maryland three sisters, Sandra K. McDevitt of Erma, JoAnn Woodland of Nashville, TN, Rosalind Matthews of Villas step-children, Rocco, Sandra, Samantha, and Joseph, grandson, Little Rocco.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday in the First Assembly of God Church, 1068 Seashore Rd., Cold Spring, where there will be a viewing from 9 to 11am. Burial will follow in Cold Spring cemetery, Lower Township.

PENMAN, MADELYN H. (DAMICO), 91 - of Margate, passed away on Saturday evening at Seashore Gardens. Born and raised in Atlantic City, she retired in Margate for 25 years.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Christine and Frank Damico, five brothers and four sisters, and her daughter Patricia Penman Subotich. She is survived by her granddaughter Gina Christine Subotich, her son-in-law Michael M. Subotich, nieces Marlene Hone and her husband Ernest, Thelma Loughney, Sister Claude Damico, Christine Damico, Stephany Morris, Dr. Vivian Barsky, and nephew Robert Damico, and is also survived by many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, 10:00 a.m., August 5th at Blessed Sacrament Church in Margate. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to you favorite charity in her memory (George H. Wimberg Funeral Home).
SHAUD, ALOYSIUS J. (AL) 93 of Atlantic City, passed away on Saturday, July 31st, 2004, at Meadowview Nursing Home. Born in Philadelphia, he was a lifelong Atlantic City area resident. A veteran of WWII, he served his country as a member of the 1881st EAB in the Pacific Theatre. After working many years at McGettigan's Albany Arms, he subsequently became an employee of the U.S. Postal Service, from which he retired. He was well known and loved for his unique sense of humor. Al was pre-deceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Calvin Shaud, sister Leona Eastwood Robinson, brothers Calvin and Pierce and is survived by sisters Alice Greeley of North Carolina, (husband Paul), and Anne Damico of Ventnor (husband Samuel); also adoptive sisters Marilynn Fillmore, Eve Weems, Hanna Barton and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service in his honor will be held on Thursday, August 5th, at the VFW hall, 601 N. Dorset Ave., Ventnor. Calling hour 11:00am until 12:00 Noon, followed by the service. KRAUSE, STANLEY C., 88 - of Hammonton, on August 2, 2004. Beloved husband of Margaret M. (nee Laneader); loving father of David S. Krause and his wife Debbie of Hammonton and Sheila Krause of Hammonton; proud grandfather of Dawn and Danielle; great grandfather of Dominick.
Mr. Krause worked as a Pipe fitter for Campbell Soup in Camden for many years.

BRITTAIN, LINDA R., 58 - of Egg Harbor Township, died Sunday, August 8, 2004 at her residence. She was born in New York City, New York, and formerly of Northfield and Mays Landing, before moving to Egg Harbor Township eight years ago.
She was a graduate of Glassboro State College in Glassboro. She was a former school teacher in the Somers Point School District, and a former member of St. Vincent de Paul R.C. Church in Mays Landing. Most recently she had worked for the Fireplace People in Berlin as a bookkeeper for five years.
She is survived by her husband: John R. Brittain, Jr. of Egg Harbor Township; one son: Eric M. Brittain and his wife Traci of Mays Landing; two daughters: Jennifer Fisher and her husband Steve of Northfield and Jessica Brittain of Egg Harbor Township; one grandson: Johnathan A. Brittain, and her two brothers: Edward "Mickey" Shore of Linglestown, PA and Robert Shore of Somers Point.
Her Funeral Service will be offered Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock from the Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, where friends may call from ten o'clock until time of service. MITCHELL, RICHARD R., 71 - of Little Egg Harbor Township, Saturday, August 7, at Southern Ocean County Hospital. He was born in Phila. resided in Bucks County, moving here 25 years ago.
Mr. Mitchell was a Civil Engineer for Churchill Eng., Berlin for three years, retiring in 2002. Prior to that, he was with Schoor, DePalma Engineers for 16 years.
He was a member of St. Theresa's Church, Tuckerton American Legion Post 493, Mystic Island also a member of N.J. Society of Asphalt Technologists. Mr. Mitchell was also a Free and Accepted Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Tentarelli Davis Mitchell, sons, Richard R. Jr. and his wife Patti of Manahawkin, Timothy and wife, Noreen, Tuckerton, daughters, Mary T. Lucke and husband Russell, L.E.H.T. and Margaret P. "Peggy" of Voorhees. His brothers William, PA, sister, Elaine Warren, North Wales, PA. grandchildren, Colleen and Sarah Lucke, Richie and Tyler Mitchell.
