WALTON, DOROTHY JEAN 79 - of Villas, died Sunday February 22, 2004 at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital Cape May Court House. Born in Philadelphia she has resided in this area for many years.
Dorothy or as she liked to be known as Jean is survived by her brother, Walter Luck; two daughters, Ellen Cripps and Lizanne Burger; and grandchildren, Tiffany Yacullo, Lisa Yacullo, Rachel Cripps, Martin Cripps Jr. and Ryan Krueger, as well as great granddaughter, Alissan Markisz.
Jean was best known in her later years as Santa Clause at the Wagging Tail Pet Market where she lovingly sat for holiday portraits with every kind of pet. In the spring she was also the Easter Bunny at various stores in the area. She was a deeply religious person and attended many churches in Cape May County. She belonged to Cold Spring Presbyterian Church in Cold Spring.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday 10:00am at the Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Rd. N. Cape May, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be at approx. 1:30pm in Hillside cemetery, Roslyn, PA.
BREITZMAN, MARY G., 61 - of Mays Landing, passed away on February 23, 2004. Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident of Mays Landing. She is survived by her son, Richard Breitzman, Jr.; her mother Aghetina Giunta; and her three sisters: Sarah Fergas, Angie Giunta, Gloria Groome. Graveside services will be held on Friday, 11 AM, at the Union cemetery, Mays Landing.
KOHN, JEAN (Schafferman), 94 - of Vineland, the last survivor of five sisters, died at her residence in Vineland on Monday, March 22, 2004. Mrs. Kohn was born in New York in 1910, and as a young child moved to Norma, later moving to Vineland where she spent the remainder of her life. She graduated from Vineland High School and attended Camden Commercial College from which she graduated as a secretary and bookkeeper. Mrs. Kohn was co-owner with her late husband Alfred, of Al Kohn's Kiddie Land, and Al Kohn's Army and Navy Store. She was a life member of Hadassah and long time treasurer of the Benevolent Association. She also belonged to the 50+ Club and the Newcomb Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by: daughter, Joanne Flick, Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Paul, Stewart; great grandchildren, Amanda, Rachel, Ali, Steven, Aaron, Emily; and ex son-in-law, Bernie Flick, West Chester, PA. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Kohn; daughter Paula Solof; and grandchild, Bruce Solof.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. from the Alliance cemetery, Gershel Avenue, Norma. Interment will follow.

SULLIVAN, JAMES GARRETT, 76 - passed away in San Antonio, Texas on April 1, 2004. He was born in Somers Point on March 15, 1928, graduated from the University of Maryland in 1954 and lived most of his life in Kinnelon, working as Treasurer/ Comptroller for the Thermal American Fused Quartz Company. He retired after 34 years to Carolina Shores, NC in 1988 where he was recognized as an outstanding golfer. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, Garrett and wife Susan, Shawn and wife Becky; grandchildren, Joshua, Corene, Andrew, Jay, Katie and Ryan; sister Ellen Hyatt and brother-in-law George; sister-in-law Grace and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by two brothers, Jack Sullivan and Harry Sullivan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the National Diabetes or Cancer Society. The Memorial Service will be held at the Carolina Shores POA Clubhouse on April 21 at 3:00 PM.
CHATMAN, CONYERS MAJOR "CHAPPY" - of Atlantic City, was born in Honea Path (Anderson County), South Carolina, March 2, 1924, the fourth son of the late Howard and Marie Chatman. He departed this life Thursday, April 1, 2004 in the Atlantic City Medical Center, Mainland.
He attended and completed Gantt Rosenwald Elementary School. There was no high school in Honea Path, therefore he attended Sterling High School in Grennville, SC. His completion was interrupted by his being drafted into the US Army. He served his country for four years in the Engineer Division and was honorably discharged in 1946. Returning from the Army, he completed high school in 1948. After high school, he enrolled at South Carolina State College, receiving a B.S. Degree in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering, and his M.S. Degree in Vocational and Industrial Education in 1950.
Conyers was a serious, quiet, private person, a faithful friend and neighbor who was willing to lend a helping hand and did many things to assist others without fanfare or attention.
He was an avid bowler with the 645 Express of Verona Lanes and other leagues at Boardwalk Bowl.
He was employed at Giberson Fuel and Oil Company. After leaving there, he started his own business, Chappy's ABC Plumbing and Heating in 1962, and retired as a master plumber. He was a member of the Masters Plumbing Association.
Conyers was a good provider for his family and worked hard all of his life. He was a loving, spiritual, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He joined Shiloh Baptist Church of Atlantic City, where he attended and served faithfully as an Usher until his health began to fail. Mr. Chatman was a Mason and had been affiliated with Holly Spring No. 31, in South Carolina.
Conyers' life was not yet complete; he returned to Darlington, SC, and on December 25, 1951, he married the love of his life, Mary Nettles, whom he met at South Carolina State College. To this union was born four children. He was predeceased by two sons, Lindsay J. and Larry C. Chatman.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, a devoted wife, Mary, of 52 years; two daughters, Melinda Chatman of the home, and Valerie Chatman of Pleasantville; three brothers, Charlie Chatman (Yusaka) of Minneapolis, MN, Robert Chatman (Bertha) of Philadelphia, PA, and Pelham Chatman (Jackie) of Gary, IN; two sisters, Mae L. McIntosh of Brooklyn, NY, and Olivia Newsome of Upper Marlboro, MD; four granddaughters, Nicole Callaway (Damion), Patrice Glaze, Elixis Jackson and Marguita Chatman; four grandsons, Namiah, Tony, and Da-Ron Chatman, and Malcolm Hendricks; four great grandchildren, LaShon, Ishmael, and Aaliyah Callaway, and Elijah Glaze; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 701 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 9 a.m. Burial will be in Atlantic City cemetery, Pleasantville. Arrangements entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Home.
GARDELLA, GERALDINE (nee ROSSI) "GERRY", 63 - passed away on Monday morning at home after a brief illness. Geraldine was born and raised in Vineland and was a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Bascone Rossi.
Gerry was a homemaker and a member of the Queen of Angels Parish, Buena Boro. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert C.; two sons, Robert Gardella, Jr. of Vineland, Mark and Lisa Gardella, of Vine-land; four grandchildren, Karissa and Kristopher, Zackary and Joshua; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Gloria Rossi, of Vineland and sisters-in-law, Andrea Lugiano, Barbara and husband Ray Hirleman; and Several nieces & nephews.
Her Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Tuesday, April 13 at the R.C. Church of St. Michael, 504 West Ave. Minotola, with burial to follow in Sacred Heart cemetery, Vineland. TUHOLUKOW, IVAN, 85, of Buena died Tuesday at home. Ivan was born in Russia and immigrated to the US in 1943. He had formerly resided in Passiac prior to moving to Buena in 1960. He was a member of the New Kuban Russian Orthodox Church, Buena.

PECK, MEYER, 95 - of Linwood, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2004. Born in Russia, he resided in Philadelphia for many years before moving to the shore a few years ago. Mr. Peck worked in the Garment industry as a cloth cutter for many years and he was a member of the ILGW and the Pannonia Beneficial Assn. He is survived by his son, Dr. Marc (Betsy) Peck of Linwood; his sister, Betty Pechenick; grandchildren, Jay Peck, Dr. Ronald Peck, Lisa Wulwick and Lauren Fogel and great-grandchildren, Lauren Peck, Jordan Peck, Caroline Peck, Emily Peck, Isabelle Peck, Karli Wulwick and Jillian Wulwick. MEEHAN, FRANK J., - of Linwood, passed away April 1st. Frank came from humble beginnings, born and raised in Philadelphia. He graduated from North East Catholic High School for boys in 1948, attended Drexel Institute of Technology and American University. Frank enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1951 serving his country during the Korean War. With 37 years of dedicated service to the FAA, Frank's career spanned from Air Traffic Controller to the Director of Budgets at NAFEC.
A devoted husband of 51 years he married Joanne Balabon in 1953. A true patriarch. Frank was a loving father to four children and a supportive grandfather of eight. He was a fervid orator and grammarian teaching by example, not necessarily to his children's delight. Frank was a mentor to all.
Mass will be held at 2p.m., April 7th at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Linwood. Military Burial will follow at Atlantic County Veteran's cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Holy Redeemer Hospice. Visitation will be from 1:30 until the time of Mass. Arrangements by George Wimberg Funeral Home.
ROGERS, ANN R. "ANNAROSE" (nee Conway), 84 - of Margate, on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at Our Lady's Residence in Pleasantville. Born in Philadelphia, she grew up in Atlantic City and was a graduate of Holy Spirit High School Class of 1937. Ann worked at the Seaside and Claridge Hotels. She and her late husband Victor moved to Arlington, VA in 1945 and returned to Margate in 1957. A member of Blessed Sacrament Church, she was a member of the Couples Club, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Seniors Society, and the Holy Redeemer Auxiliary. She worked at the polls during Margate elections; was a member of the South Atlantic Women's Club, the Atlantic County Republican Women's Club, and the Margate Historical Society; and was the long time treasurer of the SJ Shore Chapter 16 of AARP. Ann had also been the volunteer dispatcher for the Margate Senior Bus Program and a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Predeceased by her husband Victor J. Rogers, she is survived by two sons, Victor J. Rogers and his wife Carol of Somers Point and John P. Rogers and his wife Sharron of Manahawkin; one daughter, Kathleen A. Brown and her husband Harry C. of Seaville; three sisters, Marie Colee of Saint Augustine, FL and twin sisters, Eileen (Dolly) Zimmerman of Columbia, MD and Patricia Jones of Fairfax, VA; five grandchildren, Dawn Kernan and her husband Timothy, Kristie Brown Chisholm and her husband Shane, H. Kyle Brown, Tylor Rogers and Kayla Rogers and six great grandchildren, Timothy Kernan, Cooper Kernan, Magi Kernan, Ryan Skuzinsky, Rachael Skuzinsky and Kamryn Chisholm.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Margate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services. DAVIS-WEBB, NATALIE, "NATS" 76 - of Atlantic City, departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on April 2nd in the AC Medical Center, City-div. Born in Atlantic City, she attended the local public schools and graduated from AC High School and also from the AC Vocational-Technical School where she became certified as a Registered Nurse. She worked at various local hotels in the House Keeping Dept. and also in the private sector as a Homemaker.
NATS was lastly employed at the Atlantic City Hospital where she worked for over 18 years. Her parents, Nettye and Samuel Davis, her husband, Walter E. Webb, Jr. and a daughter, Rhonda L. Davis, all preceded her in death. She is survived by: three sons: Bryan "Skip" Davis of Atlantic City, Joseph Davis and his wife Anita of Seattle, WA and Hank Davis and his wife Loscena of Pleasantville; one sister: LaRue Allmond and her husband Joseph of Atlantic City, eleven grandchildren: Carla, Anita, Tyron, Portia, Hank, Jr, Shayna, Kayla, Danita, Monique, Andrew and Lionel; nine great grandchildren: Lia, Ke'Sean, Ebony, Laceon, De'Mia, Nimira, Alaij'za, Sanaa and Damier and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and cousins from Camden, Maryland and Wash., DC areas. RIEU, PAUL, - of Egg Harbor Twp., our beloved father died suddenly on April 3, 2004. Paul was a painter by trade and worked at the Philadelphia Navy Yard in the 1940's. He worked at Leek's Boat Works for many years. He and his wife, Ella owned Ella's Store in Pleasantville. Later he was employed by the Pleasantville School System in maintenance for 23 years. His retirement years were spent volunteering at Meadowview Nursing Home in the gift shop and having fun at Generations Adult Day Care in Somers Point. Each day was a joy with Shelly, Christa, Shannon, Kelly and Gene. He will be sadly missed by his daughters: Gerri Falcone, Penny Baker (Max) and Linda Faisst (Chuck). His grandchildren: Gina Falcone, Terri Bannon (Carmen), Renay Troiano, Steven Troiano (Sue), Michael Troiana, Caren Faisst, C.J. Faisst. His great great-grandchildren: Kristina, Leigha, Siera and Kayla. Donations in his honor may be made to the Atlantic County Humane Society, 1801 Absecon Blvd., Atlantic City. SPALL, LOUISE F., 86 - of Absecon, born May 27, 1917 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died peacefully at her home in Absecon, on April 3, 2004. Louise was the beloved wife of the late Gerald J. Spall and daughter to Radu S. DesJardins and Annie Campbell DesJardins. She is survived by her son Gerald (Jerry) and daughter in-law Aileen (Joy) Spall of Vineland, and three granddaughters: Lynley A. Kees and her husband Ryan, Lea A. Kiesel, and her husband Adam, and Lisa A. Spall and her fianc‚e Carmine Torella. Louise retired from Stockton State College in the Performing Arts Center. Previously she had worked with Atlantic City Convention Bureau and operated family summer businesses. Louise was a life long fan of Atlantic City, where she lived as a young girl after moving to Philadelphia with her parents in the mid 1920's. She loved her family, friends, church and home. She was active in the Episcopal Church of the Ascension and the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, the reunion committee of the class of 1935 and the AARP. She relaxed by knitting and crocheting. Louise and members of the class of 1935 established a scholarship, still awarded annually. She worked diligently to secure the status of the Church of Ascension as a Historic Building, a feat she was extremely proud of.
Viewing hours will be Tuesday 7-9PM at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. Service will be held 10a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Ascension, Atlantic City, and interment will follow at Laurel Memorial Park in Pomona.

PICKETT, PATRICIA C. (nee Dumas), 74 - of Ventnor, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2004.
Born in Atlantic City, she was a lifelong Atlantic County resident, living most of her life in Ventnor.
Daughter of the late Harry J. and Margaret Dumas.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Tommy; daughter Patti Corvari and husband Paul and granddaughter Natalie of Northfield; and son Harry of Ventnor and his children Ryan, Christopher and Chelsea Pickett of Galloway; sisters, Margaret Fisher of Ventnor and Kathleen Scotti and her husband Danny, also of Ventnor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, April 7, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. and to attend her funeral service on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at 10 a.m. in the Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, Inc., 1650 New Road, in Northfield.
Burial will follow in the Atlantic County Veterans cemetery in Estell Manor.
