Gill, Sr., William F.
Gill Sr., William F., aka "William the Great" - 82, of Sea Isle City, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2010. Born in Bayonne, he has been a resident of Sea Isle City since 1984. He served in the United States Navy and Air Force. He loved playing Bridge, watching the Phillies, and was an avid lover of Turner Classic Movies ("no commercials"). He also loved the annual Super Bowl family reunions. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Joseph's Church selling 50/50 tickets to everyone he knew, or didn't know, member of the AARP and Women's Civic Club. His favorite saying was, "Let's Party!"
He leaves behind a loving wife and caregiver, Shirley J. Gill, his daughters, Grace M. Waag and her husband, Richard, of Sherman, CT, Eileen G. Holden and her husband, Dennis, of Waldorf, MD, Marianne G. Risley and her husband, Charles, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, and son, William Jr. of Sea Isle City, NJ. His eight wonderful grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth, Sara, Matthew, Mary, Greta, Lauren, Lynn, and Jenna all brought "PopPop" great joy. Bill is survived by one brother, Raymond Gill of Saylorsburg, PA, and sister, Kay Mullaney of Hazlet, NJ.
A celebration of William's life will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, with a Memorial Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 4308 Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City, NJ 08243. Visitation is from 10-11:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Cape May County Veterans cemetery. Magee, James W.
Magee, James W., 79, of Cape May Court House, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Born in New York to William and Isabel Magee he worked as a pipefitter in Northern New Jersey before moving to the area 21 years ago. He loved hunting, gardening and was a member of the Villas Fishing Club.
James is survived by his wife Carol (formerly Speece); children, Nancy (Harry) Hatz of Clayton, Carl Gansert of South Dennis, Dawn (Charles) Burkle of Virginia, and Desiree (John) Taylor of Virginia; as well as several grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be said on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Church, Rt. 47 South in Goshen, NJ 08218. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment is private.
Trueland, Lorraine Majane
Lorraine Majane Trueland, nee Lance, age 90, born on December 2, 1919, who lived in Cape May Court House, NJ for over 50 years, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, to be with the Lord. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Edward Trueland, who is a lifelong resident of Cape May Court House.
She was secretary for the Fairview cemetery for many years and a member and past board member of the First United Methodist Church of Cape May Court House. She was a past member of the Thurston Elmer Wood Post of the American Legion Auxiliary of Cape May Court House; a past member of the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary where she put many hours working in the Et-Cetera Shop; and a past member of the Wildwood Republican Club.
Lorraine was a retired assistant manager of the S&H Green Stamp Store in Cape May Court House. Years ago, she played the piano for the Crest Community Church in Wildwood.
In addition to her husband of more than 50 years, Edward Trueland, she is survived by two sons: Frank Majane (Dolores) of Erma; John Majane (Carol) of East Holyoke, MA; a daughter, Frances Majane of Egg Harbor Township as well a numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Anna Mae Majane.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. followed by services at 2:30 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery. Memorials in her name may be sent to the Building Fund of The First United Methodist Church, 2 Church Street, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
Hughes, Janet P.
Janet P. Hughes, 77, of Del Haven passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband James in 1975. Born in Browns Mills, PA to William and Eloise Barker Hillhouse, she moved to the area as a teenager. Janet took pride in her fishpond and loved taking care of it. She was very proud of all her fish and loved watching them grow from year to year. She worked as a waitress in the summers at Utsch’s Marina in Cape May.
She is survived by her children: James (Karen) Jr. of Texas, Sandra (Robert) Polise of Ocean View, and Bonnie (Daniel) Tozer of Rio Grande; grandchildren: Danea (Robert) Bickerstaffe of N. Carolina, Christinia (Richard) Palko, Dawn (Benjamin) Cleaves of Millville, Joseph (Kelly) Pettit, and Daniel Tozer, Jr.; and great grandchildren Michael, Cheyenne, Matthew, Gianna, Wally Jr., Trista, Gavin, and Natalie Kate.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Green Creek Methodist cemetery. Ross, Lewis P.
Lewis P. Ross, 70, of Rio Grande, NJ passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph and Margaret Brook Ross he moved to the area over 30 years ago. He was a bartender at The Ship N Shore and various other bars in Wildwood, and loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife Lana, stepdaughter Kristy (Joe) Angelino, his sisters Connie Horbury and Anna Mae Burgher; grandchildren Mandy, Ashley, Brianna, Erica, Alicia, Victoria, and Joey; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery, 780 Seashore Road, Cold Spring, NJ.
Ludlam, Wilmer Orlando
Wilmer Orlando Ludlam, 89, formerly of Goshen, NJ, died on April 15, 2010 at Sebastian Medical Center, Sebastian, FL. He was born in Clermont, NJ and lived in Barefoot Bay, FL for 21 years after moving from Goshen. He served in the Army during World War II - Europe. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barefoot Bay, FL. He attended Rutgers University, earning a degree in Agriculture.
Mr. Ludlam is survived by his sons, David L. Ludlam of Delmont, NJ and Paul M. Ludlam of Sebastian, FL; his daughters, Brenda Lee Sommers of Millville, NJ and VIrginia Polise of West Melbourne, FL; his brother, Roy Ludlam of Swainton, NJ; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2010 at Asbury Methodist Church cemetery, Route 9, Swainton, NJ.

J. Morgan Tozour, 97, of Rio Grande, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010. He is survived by his two daughters, Helen Baker and Carol Lechner; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Dorothy Haines, 103, passed away on April 8, 2010 in Ft. Myers, FL. Loving mother of Bill Haines (Janice) and Peg Johnson (Frank). Devoted grandmother of 5 and great-grandmother of 10. Jennings, Esther M.
Esther M. Jennings, age 101, of Ocean View, NJ, died on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Lutheran Home at Ocean View twenty days before her 102nd birthday. Her family was blessed to have her with them for so many years. She was born in Gloucester, NJ, the daughter of the late Theodore and Ella Firth Jennings and moved here seven years ago from Philadelphia, Pa.
Esther never had any children of her own, but helped raise many children as a nanny in the suburbs of Philadelphia, some of which stayed in contact with her to the present.
Always fiesty, sweet, lovable and always a flirt, she will be missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by two nephews: Richard Davies and wife, Kathy of New York and Barry Davies and wife, Susan of Maryland; her great niece, Mimi and her children, Joshua and Mollie of Cape May Court House and many other great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at 3 pm at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ. There is no viewing. Interment is private.
Johnson Melroy, Rose
Rose Johnson Melroy, age 67, Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Cape Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Philadelphia, Pa. the daughter of the late LeRoy and Wilma Woods and moved to Cape May County over fifty years ago.
Rose was the manager of the Cape May Court House branch of Marine National Bank for many years. In the early 1980's, she left the banking industry and led a very successful career in real estate with the Cape May Court House branch of Avalon Real Estate which became Coldwell Banker. She was a lifetime member of The Million Dollar Club and in 1984 she was named "Realtor of the Year" by her fellow peers.
She was a former member of the Cape May County Planning Board; the County Health Department Board; Middle Township Planning and Zoning Boards and the Middle Township Sewer Authority. She was one of the founders of the Middle Township Chamber of Commerce and the first woman member and president of the Cape May Court House Kiwanis Club.
Rose is survived by her husband, Frederick A. Melroy; a son, Harry J. Johnson, Jr. and wife, Dawn; a daughter, Kimberly A. Johnson and husband Darren Thomas of Seattle, WA; two step daughters: Stephanie Lynn Haines of Cape May Court House and Nancy Marie Hadsock and husband, Tim of Valrico, FL; a brother Donald Woods and wife, Sherry of Rising Sun, MD; two grandchildren: Molly Johnson and Gage Haines; a nephew, Donald Woods, Jr. and her three cocker spaniels: Coco Bean, Daisy and Fable.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010, from 9 am to 11 am at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ followed by a service at 11 am. Interment will be private at the Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery following the service.
Rose loved God's creatures and throughout her life, she always helped the homeless furballs that crossed her path and with that known, Rose's family asks that in lieu of flowers, that her relatives and friends adopt a dog or cat in her memory or send a donation to her beloved Cocker Spaniel Adoption Agency, PO Box 1704, Westminster, MD 21158-5704.
As Rosie loved to throw a good party, family and friends are invited to an informal remembrance party Uptairs at The Bellevue Tavern after the services.
Caprioni, Richard L.
Caprioni, Richard L., 52, of Belleplain, passed away on Monday, April 5th, 2010. Born to Dominick and Ruth Barnett Caprioni, he was co-owner of Caprioni Family Septic in Belleplain. He loved fourwheeling, fishing, and hunting and was a member of the Crooked Horn Gunning Club. He was a Belleplain Fireman, loved football, especially his 49ers, but most of all loved to ride his Harley.
Richard is survived by his children Dominick (Carly), Nicole, and Richelle all of Belleplain; his stepchildren Anthony Saduk of Millville and Michael Saduk of Belleplain; his mother Ruth; brother Thomas (Genia) Caprioni; sisters Blanche (Jesse) Creamer, Lorraine (Chuck) Dougherty, and Mary (Frank) Laughlin all of Belleplain; grandchildren, Madison, Anthony Jr., and another grandchild on the way as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. Viewing will be on Sunday the 11th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday morning from 9:00 to 11:00. Interment will be at Head of the River cemetery.
Faralli, Sr., Frank John
Frank John Faralli, Sr., age 90, of Wildwood Crest, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2010. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur and Rose Faralli. After attending South Philadelphia High School, he joined the Army at the beginning of World War II and served his country for four years as an "in-flight" radio operator.
Upon returning home from the war, Frank married the former Ruth Ryder of Wildwood, NJ. He worked as a furniture finishing foreman for John Wanamaker and for the Imperial Milling Corporation. For forty years he held the position of Financial Secretary-Treasurer of Local Union #426 of Philadelphia. Upon retiring to Cape May County, NJ, he and his wife volunteered at the former Burdette Tomlin Hospital for several years.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Ruth. Together, they raised five children--their greatest treasures. He is survived by sons, Frank Faralli, Jr. (Maria) of Cape May Court House, NJ; Mark Thomas Faralli and wife; daughters, Carole Holtzapfel (Skip) of Cape May, NJ; Maryann Severino (Dan) of Wildwood Crest, NJ and Florice Long (Lenny) of Cherry Hill, NJ.
Frank is also survived by his sisters, Rose Mary Yanni and Lena Bergmeister (Robert) and many loving nieces and nephews. Their marriage has also been blessed with fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 9, 2010, at 11:00 AM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment is private. Forsyth, Amy M.
Amy M. Forsyth, age, 33, a former resident of Rio Grande, NJ, died Monday, April 5, 2010, in Houston, TX.
She was born in Cape May Court House, NJ and was a graduate of Middle Township High School and Trenton State College. She was employed as a computer analyst, and she enjoyed translating the English/Japanese language and martial arts. She was an active member of the Christ The Servant Lutheran Church of Houston.
She is survived by her mother, Carol A. Spaide and step father, Ritchie of Cape May Court House, NJ; her father, Larry W. of Villas, NJ; a sister, Stacy L. Hickman of Wildwood Crest, NJ; maternal grandfather, John W. Frame and paternal grandmother, Johanna Forsyth; her aunts and uncles: Steven Frame (Susan); Diane Smick (Terry); Bruce Frame (Christine); Joanne Becmer (Stephen) Matthew Frame (Theresa); JoAnn (David) Macool; Jeanette (Bill) Ackley; Terry Forsyth and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, June Frame; her paternal grandfather, Patrick Forsyth and uncle, Harvey Forsyth.
