GRAVES, ROSEMARY E., age 72, of Ocean View, NJ, died on Monday, February 14, 2011. She was born in Camden, NJ, the daughter of the late Henry and Florence Palmer Franchville. She was a waitress at Zaberer's for twenty five years and then worked at the Woodbine Developmental Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Franchville.
She is survived by her husband, John H.; her children: Rosemarie (Misak) Chakhchakhyan; Andrew G. Rott, Sr., Thomas T. Rott; George H. (Lori) Rott and William M. Rott; a brother, Henry T. (Karen) Franchville; her sisters, Rita (Bob) St. Clair and Florence (Joseph) Matteo; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011, at 10 to 11 am at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ followed by interment at the Cape May County Veterans cemetery. Holland, John James
HOLLAND, JOHN JAMES, 92, of Seaville, passed away February 12, 2011.
Jack, as he was known, was born October 14, 1918 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The family moved shortly thereafter to the outskirts of the Erie Pennsylvania, where he was raised and attended Fairview High School, from which he graduated in 1937.
In 1942, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps, flying and instructing in P-51 fighters in both Florida and Texas. He and Cora May Wiedlea were married on March 4, 1944 in Eagle Pass, Texas. After being honorably discharged from the Army in 1945, he and Cora May moved back to Michigan where he attended Michigan State University, graduating with a degree in community and regional planning. Jack worked in the field of community planning in Saginaw, Michigan, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and finally the family moved to New Jersey in 1954 where he became the first director of planning for Cape May County. During this time, Jack taught planning courses at Rutgers University. In the late 1960s he became the director of planning for Cumberland and Salem counties. In his earlier years in New Jersey, Jack was instrumental in helping to organize the board of the state planning, of which he was the first president. Jack and Cody established Shore Holly Farm after their arrival here where Jack pursued his love of horticulture by growing and selling holly and Christmas trees for over 45 years.
Predeceased by his wife, Cora May “Cody”, he is survived by his son, Nick A. (Ellen), four grandchildren, David (Mark), Alisa (Dave), Cody and Taylor (Carolyn), great grandchildren Savannah and Jasmine, as well as sisters Natalya Hahn and Cathy (John) Risley, and Brother Allan (Sue) Holland, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jack “Pop” will be sadly missed by all who loved him dearly.
A life celebration will be held at his home at 1861 South Route 9 in Seaville on Friday, the 18th of February, between the hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, all who knew and loved him are welcome to join us in this celebration.

Pulaski, Linda Mae
Pulaski, Linda Mae (formerly Roberts) - 52, went peacefully to be with the Lord on February 11, 2011 at her South Dennis home after a lengthy battle with stomach cancer. She ran a successful cleaning business for 15 years and was present office administrator of Offshore Autobody in South Dennis.
She is survived by her husband Michael; her mother Gladys Roberts; her sons Daniel Craver (37) and wife Sheila, Michael Craver (36), Jeremiah (30) with Betsy Tripet, and Isaiah Craver; 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Thraen, Golden Marie
Golden Marie Thraen, 98, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Kirkman, Iowa to the late Chris and Annie (Michaelsen) Christensen, she moved here in April of 1991 from Harlan, Iowa. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and Bingo.
Mrs. Thraen is survived by her children, Chris A. Thraen of Woodbine, Verlee J. Henry of Green Creek, and Ellen Ann Hayes of Vineland; her nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; and her former daughter in law, Clara Thraen of Cape May Court House. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her daughter, Corrine Strange of Wyoming; her son, Lamont Thraen of Harlan, Iowa; her grandson, Adam Henry; and her three great grandchildren, Trina Newill, Jeremiah Carr, and Cassandra Carr.
Funeral Mass will be said on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 35 East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Green Creek Methodist cemetery. Moore, James (Jake) Dennis
Fire Department
James Dennis Moore (Jake), 64, of Goshen, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Cape Regional Medical Center. He was born in Goshen to the late Dennis F. and the late Dorothy E. (Sipps) Moore, Sr. and was a lifetime resident here. He worked at South Cape Nursing Home until his retirement. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Goshen Fire Department for many years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Moore. He is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Moore and Diane Moore; his two granddaughters, Lillie Ann Moore (Mookie) Hicks and Crystal A. Bratten; his sisters, Janet (Bill) Seitz of Dias Creek and Marie Johnson of South Korea; his brother, Dennis F. (Anna) Moore; and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
Karimalis, Emanual
Karimalis, Emanual - 67, of Dennisville passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011. Born in Kampos, Greece, he served in the Greek Navy before immigrating to the U.S. He was married and is survived by his wife Elaine (formerly Abel). He later worked at Dino's Diner in Seaville. He was a dedicated family man who loved his wife, was a father of 6, and grandfather of 10.
Services are private at the request of the family.
Farrell, Thomas "Terry" P.
Thomas P. Farrell, "TERRY", 76, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011. Born in Philadelphia to the late William Thomas and Mary (Duggan) Farrell, he moved to Cape May County 15 years ago from Moorestown. He was formerly employed by Para-Chem in Philadelphia. He was the manager of the Little Club Soccer Team in Philadelphia. He loved cars, especially his 54 Chevy. He also enjoyed his vegetable gardens.
Mr. Farrell is survived by his son, Thomas Farrell; his brother, John Farrell; his sister, Mary Walsh; his three grandsons, Bryan Montgomery, Chad and Jesse Farrell; and his great granddaughter, Ashley Farrell.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary's cemetery, 1056 Seashore Road, Cold Spring. Kwoka, Alfreda B.
Alfreda B. Kwoka, age 86, of Avalon, NJ, died on Friday, January 28, 2011, at her home. She was born in Camden, NJ the daughter of the late Bronislaw and Maryanna Kopar Krynicki.
She was a full time resident here since 1962. She was the first "beach tag" person in Avalon and worked for the Boro for over twenty years selling beach tags; was cashier at the movie theatre and did hairdressing.
Alfreda was a member of the Maris Stella Church; an original member of the Polish American Club of Cape May County; was an avid line and polka dancer and enjoyed crocheting. She and her sister, Wanda also were involved with the USO during WWII.
She is survived by her husband of sixty four years, Stanley M.; her children: Lorraine M. Fucini of Wildwood; Christine A. Smiley of Cape May Court House and Michael S. (Barbara) of Marlton and a sister, Wanda Kaplan of Hamilton Twp., Atlantic County.
Funeral Liturgy will be said on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at 11 am at the Chapel of Maris Stella Church, 25th St. and First Avenue, Avalon, NJ of St. Brendan The Navigator Parish where friends may visit 10 to 11 am. Small, Mildred
Mildred Small, 92, of Woodbine, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011. Born in Early Branch, SC and raised in St. Augustine, FL, she moved here in 1948. She was a member of Lighthouse Deliverance Ministries, where she was church mother and a missionary. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, canning, and teaching people how to cook. She formerly worked at Woodbine Developmental Center.
Mrs. Small is survived by her children, Elizabeth Murray, Geraldine London, Ralph Small, Marie Thomas, Joseph Small, and Gary Small; her 21 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; a host of great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Small, Sr. and her daughter, Dolores Davis.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Deliverance Ministries Church, 315 Washington Avenue, Woodbine, where viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Woodbine cemetery. Gihorski, Beatrice A.
Beatrice A. Gihorski, age 78, of Woodbine, NJ, died on Thursday, January 27, 2011. She was born in Eldora, NJ the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy Knoll Fowler. She was retired from the Woodbine Developmental Center as a laundary employee. She also had been a seamtress at Feit's Clothing and had driven school bus for the late Philip DeSantis. Bea enjoyed eating at McDonald's with her friends.
She is survived by her son, Michael H., Sr. (Penny); three sisters: her twin sister, Dorothy DeSantis (who is eight minutes older); Flora Isiac and Juanita Rizzo; three brothers: Edgar Fowler, Pete Fowler and Bobby Fowler; two grandsons: Michael H., Jr. and Sean R. (Ashley); one great grandson, Hunter; one aunt, Emma Trout and multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at 11 am at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ where friends may visit 9:30 to 11 am. Interment will be in Head of the River cemetery.
Blum, Henry "Henny" W.

Henry W. Blum, "Henny", 83, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Camden to the late Henry G. and Tillie B. (Melchert) Blum, he moved here in the late 40's after serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was the co-owner of Henny's Restaurant in Stone Harbor. An avid fisherman, he fished internationally throughout his lifetime, including the Masters Tournament and the Delmarva Tournament. He was a member of the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, and VFW. In addition to fishing, he also enjoyed hunting, gardening, and cooking.
Mr. Blum is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carol A. (Blake) Blum; his children, Deborah Blum-Repici, Gary Blum, Dr. Kelly Caruso, Kathryn Caruso, Carol Blum-Barnoski, and Henry W. Blum, Jr. "Kojie"; his brother, Norman; and his six grandchildren with one on the way.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Interment will be private. Sellers, Barbara E., 72, of Cape May Court House passed away on Monday, January 24, 2011. Born in Philadelphia to Gerald and Agnes Wagner, she moved to the area 27 years ago after living in Danbury, CT. She worked for Diller and Fisher Realtors and Avalon Real Estate and was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Stone Harbor.
She is survived by her husband Robert; her sons William (Annette) Schweitzer, Eric (Hollice) Schweitzer, Christopher (Shari) Sellers, and Matthew (Kara) Sellers; her daughters Joyce (Mark) Martens and Jennifer Sellers; her brother Gerald Wagner; and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Joyce Broskey.

Kovacs, Stella T.
Kovacs, Stella T., 59, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011. Born in Philadelphia, she moved to the Villas when she was 12. She later worked as a nurse's aide for various nursing homes and waitressed at the Lobster House. She was predeceased by her husband Francis, her mother Rose Lare and stepfather John Lare.
She is survived by her son Frank of Little Falls; her brothers Frank (Elaine) Schmidt of PA and John (Debbie) Lare of Rio Grande; her sisters Maryann Layton of Villas, Barbara (Bill) Smith of Green Creek, and Laura Kelly of Florida; her granddaughters Kayla and Kylie Kovacs; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Coast Guard
Arthur Hames Newman, 88, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Our Lady's Residence in Pleasantville. He was born in Philadelphia and was a longtime resident of Cape May Court House. A Coast Guard Veteran of World War II, he was formerly employed at SuperFresh. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and was active in any way that he could help. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and a Friend of the Secular Franciscan Order.
Mr. Newman in survived by his sister Mary Ames of California; and many nieces and nephews including Lois Morrison of Villas.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 35 East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Cold Spring.
