Barry, Theresa A.
Theresa A. Barry, "TA", 80 - of Sea Isle City passed away at home Monday, March 7, 2011 surrounded by her family. Born in West Philadelphia to Manus and Teresa McCarry, she later graduated from Villa Maria Academy and Immaculata College. She married her husband David in 1953 and moved to Sea Isle City (SIC) in 1991 after living in Upper Darby and Berwyn, PA. She was a eucharistic minister of St. Joseph's Church in SIC and a member of the Catholic Daughters, a beachcomber guide, and active in many SIC environmental programs. She worked in the Recreational Department of SIC and was a former Treasurer of the local AARP Chapter. She was the SIC Irish Woman of the Year in 2005.
Along with her husband David of 57 years plus two, she is survived by her children: David Barry, Susan (Gary) Driscoll, Mary (Jim) Teague, and Stephen Barry; and one grandchild, Ryan James Teague.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 4308 Landis Ave., Sea Isle City, NJ 08243. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Cape May County Veterans cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9 North, Swainton, NJ 08210-1471.
Van Meter, Roseanne
Roseanne Van Meter, 69, of Swainton, passed away on March 2, 2011 at Eastern Shore Nursing Home.
She was a generous person that loved all of her family and her pets too. She will be remembered for making her delicious steak soup.
She is survived by her husband, Roland Van Meter, son Chuck (wife Sandy); daughters Robin (husband Tom) and Kathy; grandchildren Sarah, Chuck, Dave, Harmony, Wayne, Heather, Jeff, Jamie, and Charlena; sister Adele Chatman of Las Vegas, NV; sister in law Bertha Van Meter; and caretakers Shannon, Jessica, and Maddie. She was predeceased by her son Wayne and daughter Donna.

Masselos, George V.
Air Force
George V. Masselos, 91, of South Dennis, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011 at his home. Born in New York, NY to the late Spyros and Mildred (Choffy) Masselos, he moved here in 1980 from Belle Mead, NJ. He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, serving as line chief in the Flying Tigers, Third Fighter Group, 14th Air Force, Chinese American Composite Wing. He dealt in fine arts and antiques for 35 years.
Mr. Masselos is survived by his cousin, James (Jim) Choffy; and his friends, Ron Dickerson, Jill Turndorf, Ronald J. and Janice Dickerson, and Joan and Scott Berkey. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Elizabeth in 1980 and his second wife, Lenore Rosselot in 1993.

Newhard, Anna G.
Anna G. (nee Ferrante) Newhard, 82, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011 at Cape Regional Medical Center. She was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, daughter of David and Gioseppina (Piro) Ferrante. She moved to Cape May Court House 12 years ago from Oklahoma. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.
Mrs. Newhard is survived by her daughter, Joanna Newhard Landers; her son, Roy A. Newhard, III; her three grandchildren, Margo, Heidi, and Roy A. IV; and her five great grandchildren, Marielle, Amelia, Samantha, Mickey, and Andrew.
Funeral Mass will be said on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 35 East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Resurrection cemetery, Clermont.
Magill, Barbara Anne
Barbara Anne Magill, 59, of Erma, co-owner of Creations by Sam Florist, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at home. Born in Philadelphia to the late John and Catherine (Dotzman) Heilig, she moved to Erma 31 years ago after living in Villas for two years.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Sam; her sister, Kathy Schmitt; her two brothers, John Heilig and Robert Heilig; and many in laws, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.at Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery, 780 Seashore Road, Cold Spring. Eugene Raymond Schiesswohl, 80, of Rio Grande, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at his home. Born in Hackensack, NJ to the late Eugene and Florence (Quinn) Schiesswohl, he has lived here for ten years after moving from Paramus. He enjoyed golfing, boating, and traveling in his motor home. A U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, he was an engineer for NJ Bell.
Mr. Schiesswohl is survived by his wife, Rosalie M.(nee Lambert) Schiesswohl; his daughter, Diane (Saeed) Sam of Prospect Park, NJ; his sister, Bette Perri of Maywood, NJ; and two grandchildren.

Johnson, Sr., David F.
JOHNSON SR., DAVID F., 74, of Deptford, died on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Underwood Memorial Hospital, Woodbury. He was born in Philadelphia to the late William and Margaret (Gephart) Johnson and moved to Deptford 17 years ago. He worked as a mechanic for SEPTA in Philadelphia.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his children, Charles Johnson, David Johnson, Barbara Land, and William Johnson; his sister, Annette Collins; his nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Hart.

Begley, John "Jack" J.
John "Jack" J. Begley, 70, of Avalon, died on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Born in Philadelphia to the late John Andrew and Catherine T. (O'Neill) Begley, he summered in Avalon for 30 years before moving here permanently six months ago from Bucks County, PA.
Jack was a strong supporter of the Villanova Alumni Association and the Blue White Scholarship Fund. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of St. Brendan the Navigator Parish Maris Stella Church and Stone Harbor Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife Pat (nee Ruggiero) Begley; his children Andrea Begley and Brian (Lisa) Begley; his grandchildren Jack and Maya; and numerous close personal friends.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Maris Stella Church, 50th Street and Dune Drive, Avalon, NJ 08202. Nevin, Vernon E.
Army
Vernon E. Nevin, 89, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011. Born in Cutler, IN to the late Bryce and Lillian Edith (Bollinger) Nevin, he moved here in January 2009. An Army Veteran of World War II Pacific Theatre, he was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Indiana, the Elks, and the VFW. He was formerly employed by Engineering Aggregates in Logansport, IN.
Mr. Nevin is survived by his daughter, Tara Hines (Frank) of Cape May Court House; his sister, Betty Bixby of Flora, IN; four grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma J. Nevin on January 2, 2009; his two brothers; and one sister.

Blessing, Ruth J.
Ruth J. (Hoyes) Blessing, 75, born May 9, 1935, peacefully departed this life on February 20, 2011 surrounded by her family.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband Robert W. Blessing; her parents, the Rev. Herbert and Mabel (Robinson) Hoyes; and her two brothers, Harold and Charles Hoyes. She will be sadly missed by her surviving loving daughters, Lynn Blessing McDougall of Lambertville, NJ, Leigh Ann Blessing Allegretti of Southampton, NJ, Lora R. King (Joe) of Clermont, NJ, and Lisa J. Smith (Mike) of Chesterfield, NJ; and by her devoted grandchildren, Stefani, Nicole, Douglas, Michael, Michelle, Melissa, Dylan, and Austin. She is also survived by her loving companion, Harry Hillman and her beloved kitty, Bella, who was rescued and given to her by her granddaughter Michelle.
Ruth thoroughly enjoyed life. Raised in Shamokin, PA, she met her husband Bob in the eighth grade. They married after high school and spent their years raising four daughters in Yardville, NJ. She enjoyed many years of vacations at their summer home on Long Beach Island, passing the time with friends, boating, playing cards and of course a cocktail or two. After retirement from the NJDMV, she and Bob moved back to Shamokin, PA, where they restored a beautiful Tudor house and reconnected with family and friends from their youth. Homesick for New Jersey and their daughters and grandchildren, they moved back to New Jersey, residing in Clermont, near the Jersey Shore.
Retirement at the shore agreed with her. She spent time with her grandchildren and met many new friends. After her husband's passing, she was appointed to his vacated Dennis Township council seat. She went on to win subsequent council elections and was voted Deputy Mayor and then Mayor by her fellow councilmen. During her time on council, she fell in love with the Dennis Township Senior Center and remained devoted, along with her dear friend Roe, to the success of the Center. This wonderful group of people included Harry Hillman. Together they enjoyed many years bowling, traveling with the seniors and enjoying life. She loved to play Wii bowling with her grandchildren, and there was no stopping her, she would always win. She also volunteered for several years as the Director of the Dennis Township Chamber of Commerce and enjoyed being a member of the Ravenwood neighborhood Ravens.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ, where viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will immediate follow at the Cape May County Veterans cemetery, Cape May Court House. Buckchetsky, Alvin Wayne
Alvin Wayne Buckchetsky, 57, of Eldora, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011. He was born in Cape May Court House and has been a lifetime resident here. He was a member of the Crooked Horn Gunning Club, the East Creek Gunning Club, the Accelerators Motorcycle Club and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, and landscaping.
Mr. Buckchetsky is survived by his wife, Julia (Jones) Buckchetsky; his daughters, Jessye (Jim) Grebe of Sanford, NC and Rachel Buckchetsky of Eldora; his parents, Alvin and Constance Buckchetsky, Jr.; his grandson, James Lee "Bo" Grebe, Jr.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close family friends.

Camp, Frank J.
CAMP, FRANK J., age 83, of Eldora, NJ died on Thursday, February 17, 2011. He was born in Wildwood, the son of the late Benjamin L. and Annie Adams Camp. He was formerly employed by the Jack Frost Sugar Refinery in Philadelphia as a master mechanic for thirty five years. After his retirement, he worked for Hunt's Pier as a maintenance mechanic.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Dolores nee Murray; his sons: Frank J. (Dee) of Edison; Edward C. (Connie) of Rio Grande; Roy (Donna) of Toms River; Lloyd (Linda) and Randy (Danielle) both of Eldora; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; a sister: Evelyn Smith, many nieces and nephews and his best friend, Harley his black lab. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, six sisters and a great grandson.

Hunsworth, Herbert C.
Hunsworth, Herbert C., 92 - of Cape May Court House passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011. A veteran of WWII, Herb served as a Master Sergeant in the Army Air Corps. He was an electronics engineer at ITE Circuit Breakers for 40 years. He was a mason for 65 years and a Boy Scout Commissioner in Philadelphia. Upon retiring to Avalon he was an Avalon Fishing Club Director, member of the Avalon Methodist Church, Avalon Emergency Mgmt. Team and an avid Ham Radio Operator.
Herb is survived by his wife of 40 years, Emily (Cording); his stepchildren: Erik (Virginia) Lund, Jr, Patricia (Mark) Rutledge, Ronald Prox; nieces: Susan (Robert) Thompson, Alice (Leonard) Altamura, Eleanor Redden; grandchildren: Erik (Allison) Lund, III, Michael (Grace) Lund, Erika (Michael) Burriss, Michelle Prox and Kristina Prox; great granddaughter Zella Grace Lund. He was predeceased by his sister Alice, his twin sister Harriet and his stepdaughter Carol Lund Prox.

Day, Marie A., 75, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Born in Philadelphia to Bernard and Marie Heffron, she lived and worked in Philadelphia before moving to the area in 1998. She is the beloved wife of the late Cecil Day.
She is survived by her daughters Robin Hutchins of Cape May Court House, Kathleen Bozdemir of Philadelphia, Denise Chest of Levittown, PA, and Lorraine Walker of Leeds, MA; her brother Stephen Heffron of Levittown; her grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Sean, Shannon, Johnny, Crystal, Erica, Ian, Ryan, and Savannah; as well as nine great grandchildren.
