HARRIS, NANCY J. (nee DUNN) - of Belleplain, died September 14, 2003 at the Lutheran Home at Ocean View. She was the daughter of the late Frances (nee Kelly) and David Dunn of National Park, where she was raised. She moved to Belleplain in 1973.
Beloved wife of Orville B. Harris; mother of three loving children, son, Orville R. Harris and wife Stephanie of Millville; daughters Viola Gardner and husband Bruce of Millville, Helen Wynder of Cleveland, Ohio. Eight beautiful grandchildren, Sherie Lyn, Meaghan E. and Bruce, Jr. Gardner, Jeremy and Justin Harris, Alonzo and Chris Harris and sister Latoya Parks. Each of which held a special place in her heart. She also leaves 14 very exceptional and loving brothers and sisters in law, David and Donna Dunn of Williamstown, Donald and Kathleen Mary Dunn of Woodbury Heights, Bruce and Rita Dunn of Morris, NY, Philip Dunn of Woodbury, Elmer and Judith Harris of Tuckahoe, Henry and Sandy Harris of Florida, Delores and Al Ripa and sister in law Gertrude Harris wife of the late Edwin Harris. Also eight aunts and uncles.
Family and friends are invited to her viewing and service on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Belleplain V.F.W. Post 6257, 556 Woodbine Road, Belleplain. A celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 2 p.m. at the Belleplain V.F.W. The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, please show a kindness to someone or take an elderly person out to dinner. RIOS, JR., MIGUEL A. - of Galloway, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, September 19, 2003.
Born March 17, 1950 in Bronx, NY he moved to Vineland in 1972 and had been living for the past 20 years in Galloway Twp. He was a graduate of The Darrow Prep School and Temple University. A decorated veteran, Miguel served in Cam Rahn Bay, South Vietnam as a combat medic from 1970- 1972. Awarded NDM, VCM, UCR, MM M-16, EX. M-14, 1 OS BAR.
Miguel was a devoted father and husband. He loved music, loved to sing, and was an accomplished musician having mastered several instruments. He enjoyed the jam sessions with his family and friends, which most often included culinary dishes he prepared with joy because of his love of cooking. His other hobbies were reading, photography, sports, theater and dancing with his wife.
Affiliations: Standing member of American Association of Administrators; Board Member- New Jersey Puerto Rican Congress from 1978 to 1980; Board Member Cumberland Count College Bilingual Program Advisory Council from 1977 to 1978; Board Member Cumberland County Youth Advisory Council from 1977 to 1978; Board Member Vineland Community Center 1979; Board Member Puerto Rican Action Committee of Philadelphia from 1976 to 1977; member Veterans at Temple University from 1973 to 1976; member Pre-Medical Society of Temple University from 1973 to 1976; member Association of Puerto Rican Students Temple University-chairman 1973 to 1975; Newspaper Founder and editor Resplandor 1973 to 1975.
For the past 18 years Miguel was employed at Trump Marina as a Casino Supervisor. Previously he had been employed at Casa Prac. Vineland as Executive Dr. (1977-1978) and Director of Farmworkers Corp., Inc, Vineland (1978-1980).
Surviving are his wife of 15 years LuAnn; sons, Michael Timothy at home and Christopher of Egg Harbor Twp; daughter Tiffany Mari of Egg Harbor Twp.; mother, Primitiva Rios of Vineland; sisters, Maria of New York, NY, Lillian and husband (Louis) Fuentes of Vineland and Eileen (William) Perez of Vineland; and several nieces and nephews. His sister, Carmen Rios and father Miguel A. Rios Sr., predecease him.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday evening, September 23, 2003 from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at Chestnut Assembly of God, 2554 E. Chestnut Avenue, Vineland and again on Wednesday, September 24, from 12:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. the Service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Siloam cemetery in Vineland.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland.

BIRBIGLIA, ANNE C., 79, of Mays Landing, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2003. Born in Newark, she was raised in Nutley. Later in life she spent her golden years in Wildwood Crest, and most recently Mays Landing. Anne was a resident of the Crest Haven Nursing Home of Cape May Court House for the past few months.
A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, she leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 57 years, James A. Birbiglia, two daughters, Joan Klaver-Caniz and her husband Timothy Caniz of Mays Landing, and Donna Moran and her husband Brodie of Gettysburg, PA, her brother, Joseph Uzzolino of Wildwood Crest, two grandchildren. Melissa Roeder and Garrett Klaver, and her great-grandson, Zachary Roeder.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, 11:00 A.M., at the St Vincent dePaul Church, Route 50 and 2nd Street, Mays Landing, where friends may call one hour prior to the mass. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests mass cards or donations made to the St. Vincent dePaul Church.

RODRIGUEZ, JR., ANGEL E. - infant son of Jenifer Conrow and Angel E. Rodriguez, Sr. of Vineland died shortly after birth on Thursday evening in the S.J.H. Newcomb Div. Graveside funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the Siloam cemetery, Vineland. Args. are by the Pancoast Funeral Home, Vineland

SOURS, RAE ANN (NEE BROWN), 40 - of Egg Harbor City, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2003 at her home. She was born in Woodbury and worked at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Hammonton for many years. She is survived by her companion, Mary Leonard; her children, Timothy and Tammy of Egg Harbor City; her parents, Ray and Trisha Brown of Collings Lake; her brothers, Kenny of Hammonton and Claude of Collings Lake; her sister, Jackie Brown of Collings Lake; her nephew, Michael of Collings Lake; her niece, Kati of Hammonton; her Godson, Chucho of Egg Harbor City. Also surviving are many friends who loved her. Her viewing will be 9 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at Wimberg Funeral Home, 400 Liverpool Avenue, Egg Harbor City (609-965-0357), where her Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Egg Harbor cemetery.

KOHLER, IRMA L. (nee Buck), 87 - of Cape May, died Sunday in the North Cape Nursing Center, North Cape May.
Mrs. Kohler was born in Cape May and was a lifetime resident. She was a lifelong member of the Cape Island Baptist Church, Cape May, where she served on the Board of Deacons, and in the Women's Society.
She and her late husband Frank operated several local businesses in the Cape May area during their 61 years together.
Mrs. Kohler is survived by: a daughter, Eleanora Stotz, of Cape May; a son, Frank (and wife Carolyn) Kohler, Jr., of Cold Spring; four granddaughters, 11 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM in the Cape Island Baptist Church, Columbia & Guerney Sts., Cape May. Relatives and friends may call at the Church Thursday from 10 to 11 AM. Burial will be in Cold Spring cemetery, Lower Township.
Donations are suggested in her memory to the Cape Island Baptist Church, PO Box 55, Cape May, NJ 08204. (Sudak-Danaher Funeral Home, Cape May).

McLEAN, VERNON E., 81 - of Brigantine, died on September 28, 2003. Born and raised in Tullytown, PA, he has been a resident of Brigantine since 1959. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed as an ironworker with Local #68 and Local #350. Vernon was a member of the Brigantine VFW, American Legion Post #396 and Brigantine Elks Lodge #2428 and he also spent much of his time building model trains.
He was happily married for 61 years to his beloved wife Ruth (nee Rice) and was the loving father of Richard McLean and his wife Denise, Wayne McLean, Carol Peterson & her husband Ed, William McLean and his wife Cindy, Michael McLean and his wife Flynn and Michelle McLean. He was the proud grandfather of Steven, Richard, Sharon, Lisa, Danielle, J.T., Jeremiah, Zachariah, Chrissy, Michael, Joey, Hollin, and Tom. Also surviving are his 12 great grandchildren and his sisters Shirley Sheridan and Brenda Griffith.
Relatives and friends are invited to Vernon's Life Celebration Thursday morning from 10-11 at Community Presbyterian Church in Brigantine. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment is private. HUDSON, RICHARD P., 58 - of Egg Harbor Township, passed away on September 28, 2003 at Shore Memorial Hospital, Somers Point. He was born in Atlantic City. He was a life long resident. He was a Clerk for New Jersey Bell Telephone Company. He was a former member of the Sunshine Foundation of Atlantic County Chapter. He also was fond of all types of trains.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. Hudson of Egg Harbor Township, a daughter Eileen E. Dargis and husband, Nicholas of Egg Harbor Township, a brother, Woodburn D. Hudson, Jr. of Conyers, GA, grandchildren, Kyle, Danielle, and Joshua Dargis all of Egg Harbor Township, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. Burial will be at the Laurel Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

SCHNEIDER, THOMAS A., 58 - passed away on September 26, 2003 at his residence in Northfield. Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 9, 1945, Mr. Schneider was a restaurant manger for 30 years. He resided in Mays Landing and Brigantine prior to moving to Northfield two years ago.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Schneider of Virginia Beach, VA; his wife, Loretta; a son, Steven Purdy and his wife, Kathy of Pennsauken; a daughter, Lisa Majewski of Galloway Township; four grandchildren, Danielle Majewski, Joshua, Rachel and Elizabeth Purdy; and three brothers, Kenny of Mount Laurel, William of Virginia Beach, VA, and Mark of King of Prussia, PA.
Services will be private and at the convenience of his family. Memorial contributions may be sent in Mr. Schneider's name to Compassionate Care Hospice, 516 High Street, No. 11, Mount Holly, NJ 08260. Arrangements by The Godfrey Funeral Homes, Ocean City/Palermo.

STONE, JR., THOMAS M., 72 - of Buena, and formerly of Mt. Ephraim, passed away on September 27, 2003.
Beloved husband of Edith (nee Camp). Loving father of Kathleen Jones and her husband Randall, Joyce Holt and her husband James, Michael Stone and his wife, Nancy and Gary and his wife Diane Stone of Green Bay, WI. Son of Thomas, Sr. Dear brother of Barbara Fairess, George and John Stone. Loving grandfather of 12. Mr. Stone was a member of the Marine Corps League. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home, Runemede, 126 S. Black Horse Pike, Runnemede. Interment is private at the requests of the family.

SCHEERLE, CHARLES F., 84 - of Somers Point, died Saturday at Ocean Point Nursing Home. An area resident for 33 years, he was born in Philadelphia, PA. Charlie was a retired fire fighter with Ladder #2 and Engine #8 for the City of Philadelphia. He served proudly in the US Army during World War II, was Past commander of the VFW Post 2189 and the American Legion Post 352 of Somers Point and county commander. A member of the Pilgrim Lodge F.A.M. #712 of Philadelphia, PA and member of Atlantic County Shrine Club.
Survived by his wife Margaret O., one son Charles (Jan) Scheerle; also survived by his two grandchildren "Charlie's Little Angels" Melissa and Charles. Services 10 a.m. Thursday at the Middleton-Stroble and Zale Funeral Home, 304 Shore Road, Somers Point. Burial Atlantic County Veteran cemetery, Estell Manor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 at the Funeral Home.

BUTCHKO, SISTER MARY BORROMEO, 79 - of Watchung, died September 28. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, October 1 at 10:30 a.m. at McAuley Hall Health Care Center, 1633 Highway 22, Watchung. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer cemetery in South Plainfield.

RAGOZZINE, ANTHONY M., 82 - of Atlantic City, died Sunday, September 28, 2003 at the Atlantic City Medical Center, City Division following a short illness.
Born and raised in Atlantic City, Mr. Ragozzine attended the local school system. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. Following Military Service, Mr. Ragozzine worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad in the Philadelphia Terminal Division. He later worked as an Operating Engineer for the Holiday Inn and Haddon Hall Hotels and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local #58. Mr. Ragozzine also worked as a waiter in the Claridge Hotel and Chelfonte-Haddon Hall Hotel and Resorts Casino/Hotel in Atlantic City, for Cenelli's Restaurant in Cherry Hill and at the Cherry Hill Inn. He was a member of the Pioneers Club of the Hotel Employees & Restaurant Employees International Union Local 54.
Mr. Ragozzine is predeceased by his parents, Biagio and Francesca Ragozzine; brother Michael Ragozzine; sisters Rosemary Ragozzine Tuohy and Mary Ragozzine Catanis. He is survived by his loving son Lee Ragozzine of Ventnor; two nieces and a nephew.
The Funeral Mass for Mr. Ragozzine will be Celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2003, at St. Michaels Church, 10 No. Mississippi Avenue. Friends may call from 9 a.m. at the Church. Rite of Committal will follow at the Greenwood cemetery, Pleasantville. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his memory to: The American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, New Brunswick, NJ 08902. STACKHOUSE, THOMAS M., 84, - of Barnegat, passed away September 26 at Sea Crest Village Nursing Home Little Egg Harbor. Born in Philadelphia, he resided in Clifton Heights PA, moving here three yrs. ago. Mr. Stackhouse was employed by Modern Heating in Philadelphia, PA and was a courier for the 1st Union Bank (now Wachovia). He was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, PA, and currently in fellowship with the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Manahawkin. He was preceded in death by his wives, Ella in 1980 and Emm in 2001. He is survived by his daughter & son in law Nancy & Joseph Zimmerman with whom he lived; his stepdaughter Deborah & Robert Schnieder; his grandchildren Joseph, Karen, Michael, Kimberly & Bobby; his great grandchildren Nicole, Billy, Jacob, Justin, Stephen & Jassmyn. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Route 9 Manahawkin, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will be in the church memorial garden.
Memorial Donations may be made to the national Alzheimer's Assoc. 12 Roszel Rd. Suite 201, Princeton, NJ. 08540. Services have been entrusted to Maxwell Funeral Home, Manahawkin.

COWGILL, ISABEL H. "BETTY" (nee BARRY) 79, of Ocean City, passed away on September 27 at her residence in Ocean City, after a long illness. Born in Camden, Mrs. Cowgill had resided in Ambler, PA, Cherry Hill, and Mount Ephraim, prior to moving to Ocean City 14 years ago. Mrs. Cowgill was a member of St. Peters United Methodist Church in Ocean City where she was a member of The Miriam/Ruth Circle, past President of United Methodist Women and a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. She was also a Sunday School Teacher and a Youth Group Leader at other United Methodist Churches.
Mrs. Cowgill served as a volunteer at West Jersey, Abington and Shore Memorial hospitals, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Shore Memorial Hospital. She was a Brownie Leader in Mount Ephraim and Cherry Hill and a Cub Scout Den Mother in Cherry Hill. After graduating as A Medical Technician she worked in a Doctor's office in West Collingswood. During World War II she was employed in the Accounting Department of RCA Victor in Camden. Mrs. Cowgill devoted herself full time as a homemaker in raising her three children, mostly in Cherry Hill, NJ. When her children were grown she joined the Accounting Department of the Cherry Hill Board of Education. After moving to Pennsylvania She worked in the Accounting Department at the Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA from where she retired. Mrs. Cowgill is survived by her Husband of sixty years, Thomas J., three children, Linda Emerick of New Castle, De, Deborah Ferrante and her Husband, William of Horsham, PA, and Thomas M. and his Wife, Mary Of Perkasie, PA. Seven Grandchildren, Kristen Armstrong and her Husband, William Of Mantua, Megan Wilson and her Husband, Jamie of Newark, Del., Amy Lefler of Naples. Fl, Brett Emerick Of Wilmington, DE, Jennifer Mahon of Worcester, Mass., SPC David Mahon, stationed in Iraq, and Evan Cowgill Of Perkasie, PA, and four Great Grandchildren, Madeline Campbell, Taylor and Ryan Wilson, And Jake Armstrong. She is also survived by her Aunt Joan Pierce of Somers Point. A Celebration Of her life will be held from ten to eleven O'clock at St. Peters United Methodist Church, 8th Street at Central Avenue in Ocean City, NJ where a Christian Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 1st at eleven O'clock, followed by a Fellowship Luncheon In the Stainton Room. Burial to be private in Harleigh cemetery In Camden. The Family suggests Memorial Contributions in her name to St. Peter's United Methodist Church General Endowment Fund, 501 East 8th Street, Ocean City, NJ 08226. Arrangements by the Godfrey Funeral Homes, Ocean City/Palermo.

STERN, SARA LILLIAN (PITEL) 101 - of Vineland, died Sunday September 28, 2003, at South Jersey Healthcare, Newcomb Hospital. She was the last survivor of the Baron Maurice de Hirsch Settlement. Born in Brotmanville, she attended area schools and assisted her late husband, Herman, in his business of buying live poultry in the Eastern part of the United States. She was a homemaker. After the death of her husband she worked in the reception area of her son, Dr. Gershon Stern's Orthodontic office until the age of 95. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and always said "the love of my family gives me only strength". Her sound advice to many until the very day she left was sought by both young and old. Even as her years advanced she kept up to date. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by daughter, Elayne Finkel, Vineland; son, Dr. Gershon Stern, Vineland; granddaughters, Gail and Mitchell Berman, Vineland, Susan and Craig Spector, Woodcliff Lake; grandsons, Howard Finkel, Denver, CO, Dr. Robert and Debra Stern, Cherry Hill; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Berman and Andrew Berman, Jed Finkel, Rebecca Finkel, Sam Stern, Carly Stern, Ally Stern, Jillian Spector, Joshua Spector, Margo Spector and Liza Spector.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 12:00 PM from the Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will be in Alliance cemetery, Norma. Friends will be received from 11:00am to 12 Noon. Shiva will be observed at the home of Dr. Stern.
